I was always interested in solar, but didn't think I could install a system on my home because of the HOA. Southern expanded my existing solar panel system. The cost for what I received was significantly less than the original company that installed the first system. Southern installation crew was excellent! Installation was exactly as planned, and challenges were solved in the best possible way. The system is now generating More power than expected, I am very pleased so far!

They are a local company which is a plus for easy communication. They explained everything in detail and was there every step of the way. These folks do quality work, the guys show up everyday until everything is done and any issues are resolved, Solaredge which provided the equipment for my particular set-up did not make it easy for the installation crew are the folks who came after to program the sytem. Solaredge techs were not easy to get involved and made it difficult for the guys to program the system and work out any kinks in the sytem, These guys stayed on it and did not give up until I was satisfied and all of the programing quirks were answered and resolved. I would use this company again for future installs, these guys have the can do attitude to be successful in todays market, thanks for all you do !

We met Korab and he is an excellent representative was able to explain everything to where we were able to understand solar operations. Korab is dedicated and a great asset to this company.

Met Korab one afternoon and he presented himself a solar rep. He was not my first! I declined his request for an appointment based on how my previous solar consultation ended. Korab persisted on just hearing him out for which I reluctantly agreed. We had a good one hour meeting where he presented the system, equipment and everything else. I asked him to send me details and specifications of the equipment they are using for which I received an email from their design engineer the next day. After thorough review of the specifications, I am convinced that Southern Solar uses the latest and best panels and micro inverters available in the market. These panels and micro inverters are highly efficient and works independently.

I decided to get the system installed as the cost was reasonable and my payback period was acceptable.

The installers were very professional and did an excellent job when they were at my house. The system was up and running the same day.

Communication with Southern Solar representatives be it Korab or their operations manager Matthew was smooth and timely. They answered all my questions and provided necessary information needed for getting my system registered with Dominion Energy net metering. Their help in educating me with the VA SRECs and setting up account was appreciated.

My system is 3 months old and as of today, my first dominion bill came with $0 charges for electricity used. I also got paid for 2 SRECs so far and will get paid monthly going forward.

Southern solar provided professional installation service, explained all procedures before hand, they assisted with the set up of state incentives. Overall exceptional service and would recommend.

He was very patient and answered all our questions and concerns. The installation team did very good job also. Our scheduled installation day was raining day. The installation team still came to work. That beyond the expectations, we thought we would have to reschedule the other day. Fortunately, it stopped rain during their working. The team finished installation job safely and quickly in one and half day. After job completed, Valter GJinaj helped me to install software and show each panel working well and explained how the smart meter work with solar panels. Highly recommend Southern Solar VA.

Stephon Cuffee this young man is very good at what he does. I was so impressed with him and the way he explained everything to me about the solar panels. He answered all of my questions and concerns. He was very patient with me and a very calm person when explaining the energy savings program and never showed any signs of being upset when I asked questions. He went through every step and what I should expect and what would happen after every process was completed. He also checked back with me like he promised. Stephon is a honest man and true to his word. If anyone asks me about solar panels I will certainly recommend and give him his name.

Completely satisfied! The installation team was absolutely great. Informed us of everything they were doing. The office and sales team also checked in throughout the process. Very satisfied and highly recommended. Just got our PTO today. Have produce almost 2.3MwH since system install was completed 31 July 2024.

Victoria and Korab were extremely pleasant to work with. They were not pushy at all and were extremely patient with a topic that I was not well informed on. Korab was extremely thorough through the entire process.

I have had a few companies approach me in the past but when I met Korab and his detailed explanation of all the steps and the benefits I had a good feeling, and I decided to go with them. I decided to have a new roof installed along with the solar panels. Both Korab and Matt were incredibly supportive and helpful in guiding me through the process. Both installation teams were prompt and professional. I am anxiously waiting to see my first adjusted Dominion bill so I cannot comment on that yet. We are very happy with the support by Korab and Matt who have been easy to get ahold of when I have had questions, and the quality of work performed by the Southern Solar teams. Had a great experience with these guys. First day when Korab walked to my driveway , I didn’t want to talk to him as I thought he is just ‘another solar guy’. But I think I made a good decision by giving him 5 mins of my day. No obligation presentation, clear cut financial statements which are way lower than the other quotes I received from a diff company with lower number of panels.

The installation guys are very professional, dint mess around and didn’t leave until they have the panels up and running. I googled the panels they are using. These are high quality ones. The power the panels are producing now are higher than they initially showed in the app.

I wish they continue to grow their business but be loyal and trustworthy as they are right now many years down the line.

Stephen was a wonderful help with helping me get out of my ION solar agreement on top of saving move over 10k for the same system with 2 additional panels. He was there to answer all calls, questions I had. He brought me LED lights to change for the areas in the house that didn’t have them. This process was quicker, smoother, and less stressful than before. The last company said it can take 4-6 months and Stephen has made it happen in weeks which is much appreciated. He is definitely not just a salesman and cares about his customers.

Finally! I have been knocked at my home door with over 5 different solar companies that were looking to make a Fat commission and that was it. Some were insulting with their prices. Then I met Korab. What a difference that was. Korab was not only knowledgeable about his industry he was passionate about his company and super personable with his presentation. I was super aggressive about where i stood with Solar and he knew he had just a few minutes for his 1 offer to make sense! And he did it! My daughter will eventually inherit our home without an electric bill in the near future! I had 3 proposals but southern solar made solar make sense. They were better priced, better product, and better presentation by KC. Solar is amazing. I usually don’t write reviews, however I feel this experience is worthy of it.
I spent days trying to find a solar company to help me with my solar issues. Each place I called immediately shrug me off because they weren’t the installer, What? You wouldn’t believe the stress. After hours of making calls finally stumbled upon Southern Solar. I explained the issues I was experiencing and immediately was transferred to Matthew. He couldn’t understand why I was having error messages on my inverter and no power to my interior of the house. Although Southern Solar wasn’t my panel installer, he scheduled me for an appointment that met with my work schedule which was extremely helpful.

Finally, a technician arrived to rescue the day. Loran diagnosed she solar system and couldn’t figure out what was happening , the error message was puzzling. No power source to the interior, but solar back up battery was on, so weird. He didn’t stop diagnosing, he started thinking outside the box and started checking all our electrical plugs, finally he discovered a outlet in our pantry that had come loose, as soon as he tightened it, we immediately had power source to the interior. It was 100% operational. No error messages. Power has been restored. Although, I thought it was solar related I am thankful Loran was able to make the electrical repair!

My review is to point out, that when other solar companies wouldn’t take the time to offer me the service to restore my power all because” they weren’t the solar panel installer” Southern Solar on the other hand provided me the service I desperately needed and restored my power.

I just got my dominion electric bill for April, and it was $8.90 for connection only - this is amazing, l never though that in my lifetime l would see this happen, especially when we use so much electricity

When we first consulted the solar engineer from Southern Solar, he told us our average pre solar electric bill was $350/month. We eliminated our dominion bill with solar. Not only we don’t have a dominion bill now, but we also get paid by the state with srecs for producing clean energy.
