Five Star Roofing - Salem, OR

Carlos and his guys helped me with some framing work and the installation of 26ft roofing I joists. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was done to code at a fair price. Highly recommend.

We had Five Start Exteriors replace the siding and soffits on our home with hardie and paint our fascia and soffits. The quote we received was a great price and they did not exceed it. The quality of the work was good and Edgar came out a couple times at the end to inspect and make sure we were happy with their work. They left us some paint and caulk to do touch-ups as needed in the future, which we really appreciated. We will definitely use them again in the future when we need our roof replaced.

We used Five Star Exteriors for replacing our windows and gutters. The quote was accurate and fair. They took everything into consideration so that nothing was missed and there were no surprises at the end. They were hard working, very professional, and sweet. No time was wasted. They were conscientious of cleaning the area ensuring that it was clear of debris. They kept working until it was right and everything fit perfectly. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

They were prompt in providing an estimate and scheduling the roof replacement. Unfortunately once the job was done the quality of work was not great. They used two different colored shingles. One color on the main roof and another on the back door overhang. I don't believe they know how to roof around the chimney because it was left extremely messy and unprofessional looking. There is also a small overhang where they also used two different colored shingles and there is some buckling and twisting shingles in areas where they don't lay flat. We've contacted multiple times and finally received a call back after around a month. They came out and stated they would schedule a date to come out and fix the problem areas but have yet to come. They still have not contacted us. It's been around 3 months and we still can't get ahold of any one to come back or return an email or phone call. Very disappointed paid a lot of money and did our due diligence to find a reputable and trustworthy company and receive poor customer service and expertise in roofing.

They did a good job with the framing and the roof installation.
The crew they had at my home for siding, ceiling and electrical installation was dismal at best. Ceiling boards are not trimmed to the same length, The siding had to be ordered three times and when they cut it, none of the boards were the proper length. Tools for trimming existing door frames were not the proper tool as they left a 3/8" gap on the left side of the door. The electrical work was not correct and not to code. The office manager did not return our calls in a timely manner, often times never. It took several calls over several days to get any response.

I would highly recommend Five Star. We had a 10x12 patio added to the back of our house and it looks and feels GREAT! The workers were on time, professional and produced great work.

Five Star Exteriors Construction tore off the old second story deck and built a new deck. The old deck was 9’ X 15, with a flat roof. The new deck is 18’ X 42’ and the roof extends over the new deck, following the roof line of the house.

We brought a magazine picture of what we wanted the new deck to look like to this company. They worked with us to get the design exactly the way we wanted it. They redesigned the stairs from the new second story deck down the side of the house. The flooring is trutex and the bannister is black wrought iron with a white top rail.

The deck cost $10,000 less than the next nearest bid.

Hector was the main carpenter and the job he did demonstrated amazing quality and outstanding workmanship! We couldn’t be happier with this beautiful addition to our house. It overlooks the Santiam River and provides a deck that will be maintenance free for years to come.

I used five star to roof my house in aumsville they put on a Gaf Timberline HD shingle lifetime warranty I got 5 bids before choosing them I liked how Michael was upfront and honest I was lied to by the other contractors about my ventilation problem in the bathroom Michael crawled into my attic crawl space and found the issue he wasnt afraid to get dirty in his nice clothes. The roof is amazing I saved over 3 grand I highly recommend this company to do your roof or any other projects.

Our estimator listen to our vision, bid the job to the penny, and drew out the entire plan on the first visit. The builders were professional, quick, and clean everything up exactly how it was when they arrived. Overall; it was exactly what we wanted at a price we could afford. 10/10 I'd recommend!

Fist of all when we sign the contract with them,we pretty much have everything from painting to counter top and electric outlets up date and siding,light fixture.We walk through the whole thing especially the siding, I told him I want top to bottom that means from the roof to the ground and he didn’t say anything about they’re different projects on the siding and different price, he just agreed to everything being one price.I picked the counter sample and paint colors,white and gray to Match with my other unit. They told me the toilets was going to be Kohler brand. Including light fixture and labor cost.But then I went and got all my material for light fixture, I got charged more, over the price we agree for. Michael agreed with the contract being around the price we agreed, but then the owner came in and did it and charged us with a different price. They had an issue with communication between the two of them.1-Turn out my counter top is not what’s pick out,Poorly done and finished looked like I did it myself. 2-The toilets are not Kohler brand like they said but some cheap brand.3-the paint color is dark blue and not gray.4-while they’re working in the kitchen they rip a hole on my vinyl floor, I asked them to fix they said the floor is old anyway and that I should change it..Instead of fix they broke.5-The siding is done not in the way they said it was and the board around the The edge of the siding is not replace, it was left unfinished and not paint either.My ROOF got a giant hole in it.We asked them to come back and fix the issue,instead that make it worse.So I told him I won’t pay The other half unless he comes back and fix’s everything. It was supposed to be done by professionals but all they did was damage. They said they give me a $3000.00 off for their mistakes but I think that $3000.00 is not gonna be enough for me to hire other contractor in to redo their mistakes. We got a contractor in and asked if he can fix the counter but he said it cannot be fixed unless you have to rip it off and redo the whole thing.I wonder if he payed someone $15000.00 to do a lousy job of remodeling for his house, would he be willing to pay that?I WOULD NOT Recommend this company .

I love my patio! I worked with Micheal Van Houte to come up with a plan for a raised deck and pergola for my backyard. Fivestar took my plan and turned it into a heavy duty, gorgeous structure! It is worth every penny. I think it will pay for itself if we ever sell our house! The deck is 17 feet long by 10 feet wide with a lean to style pergola with clear Suntuf roofing panels.

Our sales rep Mike was great to work with. He was very responsive to any questions or assistance through the process. The installers worked hard at getting the job done in a timely manner. Good company to work with.

If I could give these people less than one star I would. The whole process was a nightmare from beginning to end. They give us the bid and then they told us that the workers thought the tear-off was too hard for them so they wanted to charge us more money. The sales rep who came out to bid the job got into a phone argument with us and was very rude, now we are dealing with our kitchen and bathroom vents not being hooked up and having to deal with their office lady who continues to hang up the phone on us. Horrible service not worth the money don't get yourself into this nightmare! They must themselves, or have friends and family post these 5 star reviews online there's no way they could have gotten a good review from any customer if they had the same kind of experience we did!

I have 6 houses I own in Salem and Dallas and they all need things fixed so I had them roof one of my property's in Dallas they came on time and they cleaned up the mess. I would use them again and I will continue to give them my business.

They came out and roofed my house in South Salem they also did my siding it turned out really good. Edgar the owner is a nice guy he is very fair when it comes to giving estimates he beat all the big companies in Salem they all wanted $5,000 more for my roof I only paid 9 grand instead of getting ripped off by these other so called roofers out here. If you are a smart person you will choose these guys and save your money like I did. 5 star is really a 5 star quality company they are honest they are on time they are respectful and they do top notch work for a good value.

The quality is much higher than you can imagine for Salem Oregon don’t be fooled for a large business Edgar the owner builds his jobs with his bare hands and he doesn’t use Sub Contractors like most of the other guys around here. you will save a lot of money with 5 Star don't over pay for a roof call 5 Star get a nice roof for a fraction of the price as the other guys. I love how good their work is and their prices are hard to beat! Highly recommended!! They roofed my moms house who works for the state and doesn’t have a lot of time on her hands they did it in 3 days. They didn’t make a mess and they did a nice job I’m really impressed good job guys !

I am very happy with my new roof looks amazing. The crew was very fast tearing off my roof in 1 day two loads of cedar shake they put all new plywood and reframed skylights. I got 5 bids and they were the best price and used better products. I tell everyone I know to call five star exteriors.

Five Star put a beautiful new roof and nice new gutters on our home in Lebanon. It was a challenging job with multiple layers of old roofing that needed to be removed before it could have new sheathing and roofing installed. The guys at Five Star were good communicators, hard workers and did an excellent job with the project. I recommend Five Star Exteriors to others because of the great roof and gutters they put on my house.
