As first time home buyers we needed a quick turn around on a roof inspection and we needed an accompanying report. Both the inspection and the report were completed within 24 hours, which was excellent. The rate for the inspection was fair. Both Johns (father and son) had excellent customer service skills and took the time to make the complex topic of roofing, clear & understandable for a first-timer like myself. I really valued their service and I’d be happy to work with them again.

We are extremely satisfied with the new roof installed by Five Star Contract of New York Inc. From the initial estimate to the final clean-up, the entire process was seamless and professional. The crew was very diligent with their work. The owner John always keeping us informed of the progress, and made sure to thoroughly clean up each day. We are especially impressed with the quality of the Firestone EPDM rubber flat roof systems installation, because the roof looks fantastic! We highly recommend Five Star Contract of New York Inc. to anyone needing a new roof.

Called John from five star roofing on a Wednesday. We had a bunch of loose slate singles and missing patches of shingles along with trim that was hanging because of the wind storm. John managed to get over there in a few hours worked up a price that I was more than happy with And had the job done within a day. I would recommend him to anybody that is looking for a trustworthy and dependable roofer.

John returned my call right away, and his crew came to my residence the following day. Great service, quick and affordable.

The company is owned by a father and son, which is a great thing in my eyes and they made it enjoyable to do business with them. Throughout each job I have used them on, both of them have been very transparent and also very easy to communicate with. They answered each question, phone call, email with pleasure and very accordingly with timing. The crew was great as well and do a fantastic job, when they are finished you wouldn't even know that they were there! 5 star did a great job fixing a leak in our roof, adding vents, and a new layer of shingles. Better price and solution offered than the competitors.

Hello my name is Joe I am 72 years old ,the reason why I am telling you my age is because this Dad and Son team owners of FIVE STAR ROOFING ARE THE BIGGEST LIEING SCAMMER TAG TEAM YOU WILL EVER MEET ,STAY CLEAR OF JOHN WHO IS THE FATHER WHO IS ABOUT 65 YEARS OLD AND THE SON JOHN WHO IS ABOUT 28 YEARS OLD, IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF STAY AWAY FROM FIVE STAR ROOFING.
They were supposed to do two jobs for me ,both were leak problems at different houses, the only did one and very badly,still leaked,when I spoke to John senior after John junior blocked me from his phone he said he would send a truck out to correct the job they did and would go to the other house to do the job they never did.
I wasn't there when they arrived at the botched job house ,John junior texted me a picture of a window open and said that's your leak and the leak is not even in the area of the window, someone who was there said they went up on a ladder and opened the window so they could take the picture to send to me ,I texted John junior nice try. Meanwhile John senior said he would do the job at the other house, they never went there,job not done. I left out John junior unblocked me just for about 1 hour for this and to tell me I don't have a 15 year warranty anymore because I owe him $50.00 so I asked how I owe him $50.00 when I have a texted that I am paid in full $2900.00.
Original the job was quoted at $2950.00 so when I said to John junior I was about to Zelle him the $2950.00 John said just send $2900.00 and we are good, I even said to him are you sure and he said yes. All this is on texts also. My mistake was I sent all the money before he even got to do the other house they are good talkers and I trusted them ,I guess the old days are gone when most people could be trusted,to many scammers out there now.
Then to top it off I find out the house is still leaking after I paid them but I still thought at that point I had a 15 year warranty and they would take care of the problem, never happened.
So don't make the same mistake I did.

John and his crew were phenomenal. I spoke with him on Monday morning and by that afternoon he had the estimate done. He scheduled the work for the following week. I called John. He came to my home the next day, and gave me a proposal for the job. The price was reasonable. In 3 days I had a new roof. He took pictures and sent them to me before and after completing the job. I wanted to say thank you to John, and his crew for the tremendous job they did on my roof. 5star roofing, without question gives you 5 star service. I has a roof leak that was difficult to locate. But John and he’s roofing technicians came and knew what to do immediately.
Their prices are great, plus they make sure that the customer is satisfied with the work. You won’t regret having 5 star do your roofing repairs. Weather it’s a leak or new roof. Give them a call.

Our experience was great! John called me back within 10 minutes and had come to see my roof the next day! Him and his crew showed up in less than a week and completed the job fast and beautifully being I had leaks. He sent me images of his work and kept me informed the whole time. Super easy to talk to, work with and is super fair! We can’t thank you guys enough.

I originally left a 5 star review, but I have to downgrade it over something simple. I hired this company to remedy a leak and after laying a new layer over the entire roof, the leak is still present. John's communication was great until I informed him the leak was still there (he was paid in full at this point). This is when his responses slowed down. He eventually sent his guys back and they covered the top portion of my caps which greatly reduced the leak, but they didn't cover the bottom (see pics). In one of the pics you can see they covered the entire wall like we agreed too. If they would have taken 10 minutes to cover the under portion of this small section I'm confident this leak would be no issue. After his workers came back, It rained hard the very next day and it took along time for the leak to show, which lead me to believe we were close to completely sealing my roof.

Unfortunately, after informing John of this, he has gone silent! 10 year warranty, don't count on it. All of this took place within one month after he received final payment. Although I was planning on having him do other work around my home which we discussed, I guess he's not interested at this point. Multiple voicemails and texts have gone unanswered. I waited on downgrading this review in case he was sick or on vacation (trying to give benefit of the doubt). If your looking for someone you can count on, I can no longer recommend this company!

5/3/24 - In my last voicemail I informed you I would be downgrading my review, still no response. When I actually downgrade the review you suddenly appear! The one wall which is not completely covered is directly over my interior leak, why not wrap it fully like you did else where?

From what I see men came out to work and did a good job. Of course only time can tell if works holds up for a few years. However, very friendly explained in detail what they did and they come across very respectable. So far so good.

I'm absolutely greatful for the job Five Star Contracting did on my roof. Their craftsmanship is top-notch, and the results speak for themselves. From start to finish, they were professional, courteous, and efficient. The attention to detail they demonstrated exceeded my expectations, and the final outcome is nothing short of exceptional. They tarped my whole yard to limit any mess, and cleanup was perfect. If you want a great job at a fair price five star roofing is your best bet. Five Star Roofing is a highly professional business. John was very helpful in the quoting process. He was able to give me multiple options on how to approach the project. He also located other areas that maybe of concern. Workers were quick and efficient and they provided pictures of the finished project. I would recommend this company to anyone.

John, the owner if this firm, is responsive, diligent and personable. He offered a quote and walked me through any parts I didn't comprehend. His crew was on-time and respectful. They completed the project on time and without any complications.

They came finished 90 % off work and they ask to get pay, they got paid and promised that they coming back the next week but they never came and it’s been more then 6 months and no one responds back on the phone and text . Very disappointing on John .

5 Star was wonderful, I highly recommend them. They responded quickly, were punctual and repaired my roof that was leaking due to some faulty seals on solar panel posts--and did all of this three days before Christmas! They followed up when I had questions and were completely reasonable throughout the process. Thank you, John.

My grandkid was able to watch the workers do the repair and he loved it
Quality work

We needed some work done on our detached garage. New Gutters, Soffits, and the trim capped off. We went with Five Star Contracting. They had a fair price, were prompt, courteous and finished the job within a couple of days. Would definetly use again and highly recommend to all!

I had my chimney flashing replaced by this company in 2020.According to the signed contract this work is guaranteed for 5 years.But here it is going on 3rd year and I have water coming it on my chimney wall. I have called & left several messages and not even one returned phone call. There is no company phone # only a cell #and no email address so you are at the mercy of them picking up a cell call. Very disappointing since this is supposedly a family run business.

I had replaced my roof with another company and they made a mess with my skylights. The water was leaking in it was truly a mess and I felt so lost until someone recommended John from five star. Most places wouldn’t even came because they didn’t do the roofing job but he came and came with a smile! He told me what was wrong what had to be done didn’t overcharge me and did an amazing job. I highly recommend John and his crew I wish I would’ve known beforehand I would’ve had them down my roof. But I guarantee you I have other houses I want the next move needs to be done it’s John I’m gonna call .

They explained what they were here to do. They did a great job ! I certainly would use Five Star Contracting again.
