I would not even give one star if that was a option. My story is long so I won't bore you with it. I posted a review a while back when we had our very bad experience with Better homes in Orange park Fl. & it seems to have been deleted now. But please be warned to stay FAR AWAY!

BHI did a fabulous job designing and installing our custom screened lanai!

From our salesperson, Jonathan, who was professional, helpful and honest, to the project mgr, office staff and the installers with whom we worked, the project turned out fantastic! Also, kudos to the engineers who spent their valuable time ensuring the design was just right!

We couldn’t be more pleased with the result!

Jonathan, the salesperson and coordinator, was AWESOME! He was very thorough, knowledgeable and meticulously attention to detail when measuring the project, coordinating the subcontractors, and ensuring a completed project with a happy customer. He was very communicative, responsive, and ensured that all aspects of the room addition were completed to our satisfaction. He checked up on the completion routinely to ensure the high standards were kept throughout the construction. I would highly recommend him and his company to anyone who wants a superior sunroom addition project.

Better Home Improvement did a screen room on my lanai. They worked with me on the specifications and communicated well throughout the process. Larry and Mike who completed the work were professional and knowledgable and did a fantastic job. I am happily enjoying my lanai insect-free during our glorious FL fall.

I would like to thank John for his outstanding customer service. John multiple times went out of his way to help us and to push to get the job done much earlier than expected, you rock. The builders did a great job and we have to say Better Homes did a great job from top to bottom, we are very happy with our lanai. I have used BHI several times for entire roof replacement on several of my rental properties in Green Cove Springs, and Jacksonville, FL. Very satisfied with their quality of work and responsiveness to my calls. I recently had to contact them for repair after a tree limb made a hole in in the roof of one of my rentals. They were out very quickly to assess the damage and recommend the required repair.

BHI replaced an existing 22 ft long porch roof and added a new 14 foot section. I went with Renaissance Classico that has beams on the ceiling to give it a pergola look. John the salesman was great to work with and understood what we wanted. There was going to be some customization required and I was assured that was no problem. The installer Larry was a very skilled worker having done this for a lot of years. It was a labor intensive job including some carpentry and the final result was great. Highly recommend BHI for a new porch room or screen room.

Jonathan was unbelievably wonderful since the first time I met him. I signed a contract within an hour. My winter room is just beautiful. From the pouring of this cement, to the framing of the room, installing the windows
and roof,
went so smoothly I could hardly believe it. My dog's are enjoying watching the squirrels and rabbits and I'm enjoying my bird watching. Even during the storm we had recently there was not a quiver.

I replaced the entire second story siding + my bay windows + fascia/soffit wrap. My house is STUNNING. I get compliments on the exterior every time someone comes over. It’s so beautiful and clean. Better Home Improvement just finished Sunroom and covered screen patio. My wife and I are more than please. We are happy with the addition and look forward to many years of enjoying our rooms. From the initial visit, planning and completion, sales rep “Chris Buckner” returned calls, answer all questions and solved any issues as they arose. Office ladies Kenzie and Tanner exemplify what customer service should look like. All mentioned are an asset to Better Home Improvement and GREAT representation of the company. Contractors used were professional on time and proficient. Service after sale and customer satisfaction gave my wife and me an unmatched experience that we hadn’t experience in years.

We love the lanai that they built. The whole process was very professional. No pressure sell and they were willing to take the time to figure out together something that we liked but also fit our budget. Once the project was started all contractors were very professional and of high quality. Even allowing us to customize with the electric. They always responded quickly to any of our calls to the office. On top of all that they were almost half the cost of their closest competition. I definitely recommend them.

I was not impressed with my initial engagement with Better Homes. The person who assigns sales representatives scheduled a date and then told me it was not available immediately after I tried to confirm. There was no apology for the confusion, she just said, "That date is not available." I also received a text with the same date. I found that to be unprofessional. The salesperson was professional and informative. The pricing was comparable to competitors.

We hired BHI to screen in our lanai. We were not satisfied with our original point of contact. The communication/ information we got from him wasn't consistent. We made it known we wanted to communicate with someone else.  We were then put in contact with Mr. Billy Hurley.

Billy was phenomenal.  He communicated timely,  explained the process, scheduled the construction,  accurately ordered the appropriate materials, etc.  Whatever Billy told us,  he followed through on it,  and kept us informed.  The crews he sent out: Clint,  Sean, and Gage - construction; Mike - electrician; Eric - gutters; and Manny - roofer were all great,  very professional,  and hard workers.

Our enclosure was completed a few weeks ago, we love it and look forward to spending a lot of time out there.  Thank you Billy,  we really appreciate your work ethic, and your taking away the stress that comes with home improvements.

Our sales person was very knowledgeable and walked us through the process. We were quoted 4-6 months from start to completion. We were very pleased when the install happened around the 4 month mark. The workers that did the install were very polite and courteous. Last piece to be completed is our fan install. We are very happy with the results

We had a sunroom installed. We had multiple damaged screens that had to be replaced. And though the windows are solid they seemingly didn't fit their openings and had to be re-worked to fit level so that the windows would open with ease (windows still do not seem like they are the correct size for the openings). Water leaked in whenever it rained...they worked on it 3 or 4 times but in the end we ended up corrected that ourselves. The door was originally installed incorrectly. The roofers, who did a pretty good job tying in to our existing roof, arrived unannounced. At the moment BHI received payment, we never heard from BHI again. Inspections took awhile to be completed. Room was never properly sealed so lizards and other insects easily got into the room because it was never sealed...we corrected that ourselves. The room 'looked' good on the surface but underneath there were too many issues. The roofers did a good job though they arrived unannounced so it was a good thing that we had not left home yet otherwise they would not have had access to the room. After a week or so the caulking they performed started to deteriorate. Not only were some of the screens damaged but they did not fit snug (not wide enough for the window and window openings) and had to be replaced. From the inside of the room we could see light from outside near the front of the ceiling (we took care of that ourselves, too). Needless to say we will not use this company again. This is a quarterly review and will post updates throughout the year, particularly warrantied items.

We had a leaky old screen room. And now we have a beautiful sunroom we can enjoy every day , with large windows to view our yard. We couldn't be happier with the results!

I could not be more pleased with the excellent job Better Home Improvement has done with installing screen enclosure on my patio. Everyone involved in the process did a great job. I highly recommend their service.

Very unhappy with the management at Better Home Improvement. Consistently difficult to deal with. Long story short even after we paid the down payment they refused to ever give us estimates on timing, return our calls, explain what the next step was, etc. Took 7-8 months to build - I understand there’s supply chain delays, but to never provide a timeline estimate or let us know what was going on when we called and asked…after they were more than happy to take our down payment and not feel like they owed us any communications. Also claimed we needed flood insurance when our survey (that we sent them) says we don’t… leading to several weeks of delay and finally US having to explain to them what the survey said BY GOOGLING IT. We finally got our screen enclosure, which we loved… until… water now pools on the exposed part of the slab, and won’t/can’t drain even after everything else dries off, so it’s growing algae and bacteria. I’ve swept it out several times by brushing the water up the ‘slope’ and out the door, but I’m not going to do this every time it rains in Florida. I called to talk about it today and he told me “yep that’s a common problem, you can drill weep holes if you want”. The woman I spoke with earlier today told me to hire someone to pressure wash it. So the company solution to improper drainage on a newly built project is… for me to fix it myself. So much for warranty on workmanship! Can not NOT RECOMMEND enough.

It was long because of the securing of materials; nevertheless, I truly love the enclosure. It is cool in the summers heat and bright..

Had a wonderful experience with this company.
Would recommend them to everyone and would use them again. They did a sunroom remodel and we are so pleased with the job they did.

I just had Better Home Improvement install a screen enclosure for my Lanai. The only way to describe my experience would be to say it was spectacular. From my first phone call to the business to the finished product everything was smooth. Very professional I highly recommend this company for all your home improvement needs.

Had a sunroom installed. Knew it would be a while before work would be started. Friendly workers. I am happy with the product. Took long to install once started (over a month), communication is somewhat lacking, but I wasn’t in a hurry. Overall satisfied.

BHI installed our patio cover and we absolutely love it. They were great at communicating and delivered a high quality product! I highly recommend using them.

We had extensive work done by BHI, including Hardie board exterior on the house and a separate shed, both painted, new windows and doors, the change of a bedroom window to French doors, new gutters. The work was prompt and professional with great, helpful supervision and energetic, hard-working crews. We could not be more pleased and highly recommend Better Home Improvement for their quality and care.

I called to have BHI provide an estimate for siding replacement. First, was told 3+ weeks out for an estimate, but the scheduler said they would move to a different person to provide the estimate within a few days which they should start with that person given the other's schedule is overloaded. When asked, I started to give my information. Scheduler asked if I was on the deed to the home odd question, no but my spouse is and I provided the name. She quickly told me they cannot do work on the house without the owner and that I'm not the owner which I quickly said we're not doing work yet we're getting an estimate. She then said we can't provide an estimate without the owner being present. Just flipping ridiculous. I was going to go ahead and still schedule but, why should I when the scheduler is rude and there's already ill feelings. Guess you found a way to discriminate if married couples are not both on the deed. I've had two other reputable companies give a quote and no issues and there should never be an issue like this - is unheard of. By the way my spouse would have been there. BHI had such good reviews was hoping this would be the one. You lost our business. Not just siding, but roofing too. More importantly you lost my respect.

I called Better Home Improvement about some fascia/soffit repair as well as all new siding I needed. They were one of three companies we received a quote from. The quote was the lowest of the three and included one of the best warranties. I loved that they did everything by the book and I felt secure knowing the inspections were thorough and no work was done without passing them. I did have concerns about some odds and ends after and I apologized for nitpicking, but let the team know. Judy was quick to point out that it is not nitpicking to expect things to be done the way you want it when you pay for a service. She even caught issues in the pictures I sent her that I as not going to bring up. Chris was amazing at holding my hand through the whole project, as i rarely spend this kind of money and was nervous the whole time. All in all the team did an excellent job and my family is extremely happy with the results.

Happy to report that I am "THRILLED" with work done by this company! Especially the thorough work performed by Larry Wesche.

The entire crew from start to finish has been incredible. Want to thank Billy, Larry, Robert, Mike and Josh for their commitment to performing excellent workmanship with a great attitude.

I just want to say that Mike and his crew were the most professional and personable people we have had at our house doing work. Their work ethic is of the highest I have seen. Maybe higher than mine. The time that Mike took to explain a few things I asked about was very appreciated. The attention to detail and cleanliness was impeccable. I wish all the other crews from the pool company had been like Mike’s crew. I would highly recommend them for any job that needs to be done. Thank you for letting them install our screen room. The experience was the most pleasant we have had. Again, Mike and his Crew are top notch in my book and I have dealt with quite a few crews over the last 6 months. They get a 10 out of 10.
If you want good quality construction and professional and cleanliness beyond reproach, ask for Mike and his crew. I am OCD and very meticulous because of my job and Mike and the guys are spot on and capable of any job. They are builders not installers.

Better Home is a 5 star company with employees and contractors who really know what they are doing. The work they do is amazing and, if you have any concerns, they jump right up to help you any way they can. They do their best to accommodate for all kinds of lifestyles and projects that you could think of while being perfectly professional at the same time. I would recommend Better Home Improvement to everyone for their projects!

I have called and called and waited for months for someone to come out and fix the door Better Home Improvement installed and change the rusty nails on the trim Better Home Improvement used. There is little to no communication. They do not return my calls. Worst service imaginable. When I say I have called them a dozen times over several months, it is not an exaggeration. Each time I call I am promised someone will return my call to set up an appointment. Never once has there been a return call. These folks do not honor their written guarantee.

The BHI team was very helpful and they did what they promised. Being in the military living all over I have seen some bad contractors and I always worry about getting through the job. With BHI I had no issues, they were great! Getting permits from the county was a crazy process but they helped me through it. They did get great work. Larry is a master at building screen enclosures. Their prices came in better and they did the job faster. I added a screen door to the porch and Larry got it done in less than a day and it is great. I highly recommend them.

It all started with screening in a back porch area, we were very pleased with the results and soon after we realized that in order to bring our home back to life, we needed to look into replacing our siding. We went back to Better Home Improvement and contracted them to do our siding. While the work wasn't cheap, it was surprisingly affordable and they work with local banks to establish pretty good loan rates to make it even more affordable. Additionally, we decided to do our windows after our siding because the siding looked so good and based on our two other experiences with Better Home Improvement, we decided to go with them for a third time as our past experiences had been very favorable. In total, we trusted Better Home Improvement with well over $30K worth of total work to our home which for your average person is quite a bit of money. We found their workers all to be very professional on each project with a big emphasis on customer service. We have no "buyers regret" after our experience with Better Home Improvement which isn't always the case when dealing with contractors. They showed up each time, gave us everything we paid for and did it in a way that all our work is under warranty and done very professionally. Once you decide to make the investment on your home and to spend a large part of your savings to do it, you really can't ask for more than what Better Home Improvement delivered. After almost 7 months of projects, I would have to say that we have 100% faith in our choice of contractors and would not have changed a thing in our decision to invest in our home with this company. I highly recommend Better Home Improvements whether you have one job or many to accomplish, it makes good sense to go with a company like them that has a great track record and imprint in the local contracting scene in Jacksonville. Their work is warrantied and the workmanship is great. Our home looks better than we had hoped. Thanks Better Home Improvements.

I used Better Home Improvement to put in a back patio and cover as well as changing out my sliding glass door for French doors. They do great work and we now eat outside every day and spend quite a bit of time outside enjoying the patio. Eventually we will be remodeling our master bathroom and we will use this company again for that.

I had a patio cover installed and was extremely happy with the result. They are very professional and I would use them again.

Had ad in Jacksonville Mint magazine. Window replacement. Works with Simonton windows. Told wouldn’t even come out to evaluate/unless 6 windows minimum. I have 12 that open with screens and one large pane of glass that doesn’t open. The SCHEDULER HUNG UP ON ME— because I couldn’t — specifically state that I would guarantee 6 windows — for them to come to my home. But. She repeatedly said she was “just the scheduler” and didn’t know anything about windows or the manufacturer partner. So don’t advertise your A+ BBB rating when a homeowner is answering the questions as best they can and your receptionist tells the “potential buyer (me)” that I am rude and then hangs up the phone.

We used Better Home Improvement to replace our windows, add a sliding glass door and the replacement of existing siding with Hardie Board. Richard and team are always on time, professional and work hard to get the job done in a timely manner. I highly recommend Better Home Improvement general repair / construction needs.

We needed new siding for our house and was excited about the remodeling and picking the new colors. Everything went timely, we recommend!

I contracted with BHI to construct/install a covered screened porch and paver patio at the back of my new house. The staff were responsive and easy to work with. BHI took care of permitting and worked with HOA to get approval. Both the porch and patio materials are of high quality and the workers were professional with quality workmanship. I am very pleased with the results (and my neighbors are jealous). I highly recommend BHI!

BHI has been excellent. We hired them to complete our Lanai Sunroom. From the time I met the Sales Representative Steve until completion of the job, we were very impressed by their workmanship, dedication, professionalism, and perfection. The installers Bob and Patsy, a happy couple, were just amazing !! BHI is very lucky to have them in their install team. Both of them completed the job absolutely perfectly and patiently, a very rare sight in the construction industry. Very nice attitude and helpful. They love what they do and you can see the passion in them when they are working together. They even perfectly fixed some issues post installation. Customer service from BHI is overall good as they are responsive to every call you make, you would rarely get voice mail. Billy their construction manager, Steve from Sales, Josh from footer install, Bob/Patsy from main install, Maya/David/Taylor from office staff were all very helpful in getting this project completed to our satisfaction. We however have one constructive suggestion to BHI: We would have felt much better if they had taken the lead in communicating with us in every step of the process. We had to keep following up so many times. Steve was very helpful in updating us whenever we reached out to him. We have enjoyed working with Steve. Based on our experience with BHI, we highly recommend hiring them for your Sunroom/Screen Room, etc. needs. You won't be disappointed.

This company was awesome! We replaced old cedar siding with hardiplank and had gutters installed and after doing a different remodel in the past with contractors that never showed up for the various phases we were apprehensive but BHI was nothing less than true professionals and priced right. The crews showed up on time and we're good about keeping everything clean during the whole process cleaning up as they progressed and each day at the end of the day! The demo, new siding, painting, and gutters crews were all excellent! I recommend them without any reservation.

After obtaining three quotes to enclose our lanai in with glass, we choose Better Home Improvement and this was the correct choice. They were very easy to work and the final result was perfect. The construction staff was very courteous and were interested in making you satisfied with the product.

I lived in Green Cove Springs Florida for many years. During that time I owned 5 houses, 4 rental properties and my own home. Over time each one needed a new roof, installed by BHI. They are professional in every way.

I had a difficult issue with my insurance company over Hurricane Irma damage and Steve Pray at BHI worked with my insurance company to get the claim paid and get my lanaii rebuilt. His suggestions and recommendations were wonderful. He got me on the schedule quickly once we got the insurance payment. I had constant contact with the main contractor who got everyone there as soon as possible and the work was done quickly and beautifully. Most importantly, exactly how I wanted it done! I could not be happier with their service and work. My re-built lanaii is beautiful!! Thank you to everyone at BHI that worked with me on this project.

I am pleased with the work so far. Had entire townhouse done in hardie board and painted. I was never called about arrivals or scheduling. I am to have gutters replaced too. I am currently waiting for the third day in a row to discuss this procedure. When I ask Chris for a definite time, if takes a few calls and texts before I get an answer. I cancelled several dr appointments because the workers were schedule to show but didn’t. Not a very professional way to conduct business. Not customer friendly. They left screens off three windows and told me they weren’t my screens. They even left one screen on the roof. Wonder how someone else’s screen got on my roof. Cable wires and phone lines were left dangling. Expected the job to include restoring the property as found.

New roof was done in 2017. Now. I have soft spots and I'm told by them that this is normal. After contacting them, they came to work on it. Thank you.
