Excellent work performed at a reasonable price. Apex's documentation is in order, including license, bonding, and manufacturer certifications. Where other contractors send separate sales and execution teams, with sales people who don't know about performing the work, Apex sent Joe Bergin, who did my estimate and managed my project. He demonstrated mastery of roofing technology in his approach and answers to my questions. Where other contractors exerted pressure to sign, Joe earned my business by demonstrating excellence, making a strong offer, and straight-shooting without a heavy-handed sales pitch or "hard close." I would use Apex again.

Yhis is an update to a prior 5-star review we had left for APEX Roofing. The review relating to our sales rep, Justin stands. He was great his 5-star review below stands.

The change from a 5 star to 1 star is because of incidents that occurred after roof was installed.

To begin, APEX did a thorough inspection and measurements of our roof. After their team looked at roof, they then did full measurements of the roof and they provided our first bid. We went back and forth just a bit and came to an agreement on roof replacement pricing.

We also added to the agreement that the gutters be cleaned inside and out and facia boards be wiped down and cleaned, as there were black streaks running down them from dirt overflow. They agreed to this and we put it in writing in final agreement.

Well the morning of roofing installation, as they were tearing away old roofing, I received a call from Francisco at APEX Roofing who told me we need new gutters. Not only was I shocked as they did a complete pre-site roof inspection when they did their measurements for new roofing. I asked why they did not tell me about this before. He told me “it was like when you remodel a house and you discover you have old Knob-and-tube electrical wiring and it needs replaced. Well I was still in shock as when I asked about the gutter pricing it added 40% to the cost of the roof job. Not knowing what to say since I was shocked and was in a position where there was really one answer as whether to proceed with new gutters, I asked about pricing. That’s when I found out gutters would add about 40% more to the overall cost. Since he had me basically over a barrel, I negotiated and got the price down somewhat to where this “surprise” cost was 30% of the cost of project.

This whole project after after the phone rang to tell me “surprise you’re roofing replacement is going to cost 40% more than quoted went south from there.

After the roofers had completed replacing the roof and tearing down most of the old gutters, I noticed that the facia boards were dirty, put back on with primed side showing and where for some reason they had to cut boards, they left exposed edges.

I called Francisco about the facia boards and how not only they agreed in the contract to clean facia boards, but the other issues mentioned above as well. I told him the reason I wanted this corrected was that not only was it in contract, but it was put there because we just painted the whole house just under a couple years ago.

I asked him for credit so that we could have our painter come out and repaint the boards that needed it. Francisco said no they cannot. He said the boards were part of a construction zone and this is why they were put back on the house the way they were. Plus added that it was in contract to clean but that didn’t matter in his decision apparently. We still have to have the new gutters installed in a couple weeks but I would not recommend APEX if you need a new roof.

The facia board pictures are attached to show how sloppy and dirty they were left. The least they could have done to live up to contract was to provide me with a $3,000 credit to have the repainting now needed done.

Justin was great. He explained our available roofing options and the installation process. Extremely friendly and not pushy at all. When we did decide to purchase new roofing, Justin went out of his way to visit us on Super Bowl Sunday just before his and our SB parties to review our needs and sign our new roofing contract. He was able to schedule roof installation on our timeline. Apex is lucky to Justin as a sales rep.

This is just a precautionary review. If you are dealing with Apex Roofing, be sure to deal with the one in Federal Way. The "other" Apex Roofing out of Tukwila/Kent is poorly run, and they will be VERY expensive.

Excellent experience. Nikko was pretty accurate in the problem that we were facing in our fireplace insert exhaust and we were able to fix it right away.

Nikko was my contact person. He was very knowledgeable about all the products and he offered his opinion but never tried to force one off short or another on me. Even though they were not the lowest bid, I got three bids, I really felt Nikko was honest and the company reputable.

I had a deadline to meet or I was going to lose my new homeowners insurance and Nikko fit me in their schedule and made it happen for me before the deadline. He also provided the photos that I needed to send to my insurance company. Apex also provided the gutter installer.

Their office staff that provided me with the invoice and also the information to register the warranty with Owens Corning, made things very easy for me. Apex Roofing made paying them very simple by just clicking on a link within the invoice and I was able to pay via ACH

A few weeks ago I noticed a small water stain on my dining room ceiling. I immediately called Joe as I had his number from previous roof work he had done for me. He responded right away and was able to come out that afternoon.
He evaluated the roof, taking pictures and showing me what the issue was, my skylights were not properly flashed and water was getting in through those areas.
We made plans to have Joe and Nikko come and do the repairs, unfortunately the rains came really hard in the next week and the water stain grew and water was seeping through.
I called Joe in a panic and he came out that afternoon and got the area of concern all covered with a tarp. Getting it covered right away stopped the leaking.
From that point, with the weather/rain being unpredictable, they stayed on call.
When the bomb cyclone wind storm was expected, Joe came out and made sure the tarp was secure and would hold through the storm, which it did.
At the first sign of a dry day, Joe and Nikko came right out, after removing the roofing around the sky light they saw areas of plywood that needed replacing.
They came prepared with plywood and got the areas of concern cut out and replaced, and were able to get the rest of the roofing repairs completed and all cleaned up.

We got several quotes prior to going with Apex roofing and ultimately went with Apex roofing. There was no pressure with his bid. He saw what he needed to, put together a proposal, explained our options, and gave us space to make our own decisions. He also had very competitive pricing. Of the several quotes we received Apex roofing offered tons of value for the price.

The roofing crew showed up on time, worked efficiently, and got the roof replaced in 2.5 days. When they finished up Joe rolled the yard with a magnet and cleaned up left over nails and staples. I walked the roof with him asking questions. He noted our concerns and worked quickly to resolve them without any fuss.

It isn't always a given you'll work with an awesome contractor but if you go with Joe and Apex roofing you'll be in good hands. You'll get a solid product at a fair price.

Nikko from Apex Roofing was excellent. My house being only 6-1/2 years old developed a leak due to a poor job performed by the original roofer that was contracted by the builder. The original roofer refused to provide any support, so I had to find another option to fix the roof. Nikko promptly came over to perform a free estimate to assess the issue, provided an honest diagnosis of the issue, and offered a quote on the fix at a competitive rate.

During the scheduled repair, he was able to finish the vent replacement within a couple of hours, and showed me how much better it looked vs. beforehand. I recommend Nikko and Apex Roofing for any roof maintenance/service needs in the future!
