Got the furnace in 2021 had pump start leaking called sent repair technician found one way valve cracked the technician asked if I wanted to do myself ,ask if he would replace company charged 300.00 plus for 8.00 fitting be careful with this company real money happy if only I would have listened there most have been a reason the technician ask???

Not saying this is good or bad.

Customer service was good .

UPDATE, just 2 weeks later with minimal runtime on AC unit, it has again froze up. Nothing company can do except tell me that a new AC unit is needed.
I could be ignorant here but its a shot to the nuts paying $700 for a fix which only provided hours of life to the AC unit.

Called Alpine Heating & Air Conditioning to get central air conditioning bid. Came the next day to bid and installed the system the same week. The guys that installed the system came on time, were very nice, knowledgeable, careful in our home, and did a fantastic job! We are very pleased with our AC system and highly recommend Alpine Heating and Air Conditioning in Idaho Falls. Thanks again to Melissa, Debbie, Derek, and all the install guys for doing such a great job for us!

Prob the worst company I’ve dealt with. As you can see from the photos, they didn’t even try to install the ducts in my basement correct. Cut the holes too big, didn’t fit them in the right way, no cement glue on 2 out of the 6, and hardly any on the other 4. Called the supervisor and he sent them back..thought after they left that it would be perfect after their embarrassing 1st attempt…nope, they still didn’t put any sealant on one at all, and the rest were still not sealed. Called the supervisor for the second time asking if he would come by to talk to him. Didn’t reply or come by, just sent the same guys back. Still wasn’t right, had to get the owner involved, which was the supervisors father. He sent out his “better” crew a couple days later. Finally was acceptable, but left a partial tub of glue so that I could get anything they missed. Terrible terrible

Testing was very systematic and thorough. Had to replace our thermostat and checked the furnace out. Very nice gentleman. Very pleased with Alpine Furnace.

We recently had our AC go out during the hottest week of the year. When I called around to find someone to come service it, Alpine was able to come the next day. After looking at our unit, it was determined we needed a new unit. By that afternoon we had a quote (which was a Friday late afternoon) and they installed the new unit early Tuesday morning. Other places in town were booked out 3 weeks so we were very thankful Alpine was so speedy. The installers were on time, very nice and got the job done within a few hours. Thanks Alpine for keeping us cool this summer!

I've never been so upset over a purchase in my entire life. Was promised a great mini split system with a 12 year warranty for years and years of Lowe heating costs and AC. They've been here to repair it several times, and this last visit was pretty much told "idk. Could be simple, could be very expensive. Also, not sure if warranty will cover it. But you're gonna have to pay 1200 just to find a leak, and if we can't find it, we'll have to charge you 1750 for a different test, BTW, here's a 165 dollar charge just to come tell you that". Also, tech sat in my living room repeating himself with the same bad news for 30 minutes, after explaining to him that I badly needed to get back to work. 5 years of horrible experiences leading up to this one has left me VERY frustrated. I spent 8k for a unit that now potentially won't run again after only 5 years and several service calls. I'm going straight to the manufacturer with my concerns AND complaints in hopes it was a bad instal job.. and the unit is fixable.
I am only writing this in hopes someone that is shopping for a mini split doesn't get conned into a "worry free warranty" like I did. Alpinestars Labor rates are unaffordable for the general public. Including myself.

My furnace was choosing to go on and off sporadically during a cold spell. I had Hunter from Alpine come over. He was very good,he diagnosed and repaired the issue on the first time. It ended up being the motherboard. I haven't had a single problem since.The staff at the store are fantastic as well. Thanks Alpine for a job well done. 10/10

I feel that their technicians are lacking in experience. They appear to be guessing at potential problems rather than diagnosing them. When the technician originally looked at our furnace he told my wife that it was the hot surface ignitor. When I talked with the manager, Jim, about the part and cost he told me something different—that it was the control board. We got that ordered which took a few days longer than normal to arrive. A different technician came to install the control board which he did, except no heat. In phone calls with other coworkers it was decided that it is the hot surface ignitor which he went back to the shop for, but could only find a universal ignitor. That finally did the trick and we have heat.

I was charged the full price of the control board replacement which was not actually the problem. I understand with their equipment they can test for sure if it is the hot surface ignitor, at least if it is getting the correct current. It seems to me that the guy just saw that it wasn’t turning on and then he began his guessing game. That’s unprofessional, they aren’t paid to do guesswork and I won’t be using this company again.

They do a super job of servicing our heating and air conditioning equipment. The servicemen are very knowledgeable and always clean up any messes that may have been created.
We also get our filters from them and get a much better price when they come out.
I love that they have a after hour service number, never had to use it but glad that it’s there if needed.

Worst experience of my life when it comes to customer service. Excuses as to why the malfunction was OUR fault, never fixed the issue even though we had to have them come out multiple times for the same issue within a short period of time. Absolutely unprofessional and argumentative. I wish my wife had recorded the conversations with the owner, Jim. I also spoke with Jim and he offered no sense of understanding why our problem wasn’t fixed, just that we needed to pay for a new part. I haven’t dealt with this kind of juvenile unprofessional customer service in years, if ever. I will never have anything to do with this company again.

We were purchasing a home in February, the seller said the AC needed to be recharged. We had Alpine inspect the AC who gave it a pass. We bought the home and come July we have no AC. I called them, set up inspection and they said it was low on charge (we knew this) the technician couldn’t find the leak, stating it wasn’t in the unit, but couldn’t tell if it was in the core because it was frozen solid. He shut everything off to let it thaw and left. I got a call the next day stating I owed for their service (they said it was part of the previous inspection) I sad to them I was told I didn’t have a bill they passed me on to John I believe. He was rude and condescending from the beginning saying I owed for a diagnostic. I told him the diagnostic was never completed as he never found the leak. John said that the diagnostic was complete and told me the charge was low. I told John that being low on charge was a symptom of the problem, not the problem. The diagnostic finds the problem. To which he responded not here. I could go through our entire conversation, but sufficeth to say it was much the same, and then not wanting to cover any liability on their part for giving a bad system a pass. I recommend no one ever using this company and saving yourself the headaches and problems of dealing with non professionals.

I have Alpine install an AC at my rental unit in Cortland Ridge in the spring of 2017. The AC was not working in 2020. I had Alpine check on the AC and they stated it was low on refrigerant and recharged the AC system also while trying to charge me a whopping $600! I argued with them that if this three year old AC needed recharged then the install was not done properly and that there was a leak and it needed to be found and repaired. They said they would do that and they would not make me pay the ridiculous charge of $600. I thought the problem was taken care of but recently the AC was not working again. I suspected it was because the AC needed recharged YET AGAIN. So I can Alpine to investigate and low and behold the AC needed just that. This time they were only going to charge me $300 but I called them and Debbie, the owner, argued with me that I did not do preventative maintenance on the AC and that recharging is normal. I disagree that an AC needs recharged every 2-3 years. I have also had other HVAC companies do "tune ups" to ensure the HVAC system was operating properly but I didn't use Alpine because of the lack of trust I had with the company. Debbie got argumentative and angry and hung up and me and told me to take my business elsewhere. I don't believe this company does good work, they do not stand by their work, and they don't care about their customers. I would highly suggest finding another HVAC contractor to do your work. AVOID AT ALL POSSIBLE. We do not need to have a poorly run company like this in SE Idaho.

They took advantage of my 80 year old mother and didn't perform the maintenance services honestly. This contributed to a broke down system and a safety issue that could have caused a house fire. When I spoke to one of the owners and asked him to make it right he refused and was condescending and rude! We will never use Alpine ever again and recommend others do the same! There are better service companies out there that are honest and care about keeping customers happy! Hope it was woth it Alpine!?

Be careful with this company. They charged me on parts that they didn't even provided. As for the work, the technician stepped directly on the drywall and made a big crack on the ceiling while climbing on the attic to install the hood ventilation system. When I told the technician, and was aware of that. When I contacted the office to take care of the issue, Derek from Alpine Heating refuse to look into it, but instead saying that he's not responsible for fixing the drywalls. I asked for the names of the technicians who did the job and he refused to give that to me also.
I will never use this company for service, because they don't bare any responsibilities of their mistakes.

I could not trust these guys more! We got a different company, Advanced Home Services, to come and check out our furnace and A/C units. They claimed that we needed new systems and quoted us $25,000! We got a second opinion from Alpine and they explained the system well to us. And we don't need to replace anything, nor did anything seem broken. I trust these guys and WILL be using them in the future for all our heating and A/C needs. It's nice to have an honest company that won't try and take advantage of you because heating isn't your specialty. Trust these guys!! Thank you Alpine!

This is the second time we've gone with Alpine to replace our furnace. Once in our old house and now in our new house.

Since moving in to the new house we soon found that the heat would drop drastically at times. We called Alpine to see if they could find the problem. Within minutes they found that the inducer on the 30 year old furnace in the house was going bad. They then gave me the option of trying to find the part and fixing it or going with a newer more efficient furnace. There was no push to the latter though.

We did decide to go with a new one. I didn't want to worry about another part going out shortly after fixing this one. They then sent Derek out the same day to give me a quote on a new furnace, which was a pretty reasonable quote and well under what we'd anticipated. By Thursday they were out to the house by the time they'd said and installing it!

This is the kind of service we had years ago with the old house and I'm happy that things haven't changed. They were fast, reasonably priced, and everyone was nice and professional. I would highly recommend them and will go back if I have any other issues.

Give alpine heating a call if you want to be charged extra charges. I called for a simple diagnosis to see why my furnace wouldn't turn on. They charge an $80 diagnostic fee, understandable. Gas and techs aren't free. The tech moved a 2x4 that was blocking the exhaust and charged us $225. After talking with the owners they waived the $80 diagnosis fee. How nice of them, wow. I didn't ask the tech to move the board, and if I had known it would cost me 150 bucks I wouldn't have had him touch it. They also tacked on another 15 bucks because they didn't respond back to my original call. While talking with the owners, I said I will pay their bill but im not happy about it. She responded "well next time call someone else." They obviously don't care about their customer service. Very unprofessional and I will not be doing business with them again, nor would I recommend them to anyone.

Had a tech come out to my business for a furnace repair. Apparently they charge by the hour for businesses, which is fine, but businesses beware. Alpine bills the tech's drive time to your place of business--I'm in Blackfoot. Also, the tech was on the phone for a considerable time working with another client instead of working on my furnace. He apologized for the amount of time, which is fine, but I was also billed for that time. A 1-2 hour job suddenly billed at 3 hours. The tech seemed knowledgeable, but paying a tech to talk on the phone rubs me the wrong way. I won't be using this business again.

I had problem with the air conditioner, didn’t realize it until late on Saturday night. I called for assistance. Derek called back and over the phone asked right questions to diagnose that a switch in the furnace had been turned off. It was turned is and the AC clicked on. Thanks Alpine!!!

Alpine heating and air conditioning has consistently been honest with us. They've repaired our home environment products and let us know if they may last another ten years, or go out in another 10 weeks. I recommend Alpine to my parents, kids, friends, and neighbors. They put the decision in our hands by arming us with information.

Update: Today I called Alpine heating and air conditioning for a second opinion on an air conditioner problem. I had a leak coming from my condenser pan that flooded our basement. The first contractor I spoke with said that I should replace both my air conditioner and my furnace after looking over the outside.

Ashton from Alpine came out the day I called them and opened up the condenser. He identified a plugged condenser pan drain hole and saved me 10 to 15 thousand dollars. The air conditioner and furnace work like new and have no leaks.

Our remote wasn't working on our fireplace so my husband called Alpine Heating and Air to have them come find out why. He was told it would be a 79.99 fee to come out which was fine. He scheduled for today at 7:30am. at 7:40am we called to see where the tech was. The answering service was rude and when my husband said what he was calling for the woman stated " It's barely 8:40. Give them time". SERIOUSLY????? Your appointment was 7:30. The tech finally shows at 7:45. He asked if we changed the batteries in the box which we said no we didn't know about them. He said he would change them but needed 4 AA batteries which WE provided. He put them in and then went to write us the bill. He wasn't here working more than 20 mins and handed us a bill for $272.00! Are you kidding me? I will gladly pay the 79.99 but NOT $272. for 20 mins of work, being late being talked to rudely by your answering service and providing the batteries needed. This is a business I will NEVER work with again or refer people too.

UPDATE:
So my husband spoke with Jim the owner and Jim informed my husband that we were charged to much. After talking with Jim, him and my husband came to a more reasonable amount to pay and Jim apologized for the situation and the incorrect pricing. We paid the new price and they shook hands and parted ways. Thank you Jim.

I am very dissatisfied with this company. I purchased an item that cost over 2,100 and it arrived damaged. Since you could not see damage until the item was unwrapped the receipt of delivery was signed. Rather than take back the unit and send out another the company refers customers to the delivery carrier for settlement. This is only of the carrier decides to settle. In the mean time i have no AC. Purchased a AC unit and furnace. This creates a very bad situation for the customer. You buy from them but if its damaged when you unwrap it ( upon delivery the yellow note says do not remove wrapping) they cant help you. (I showed them over 7 pictures of the item during delivery, in the box, and unwrapped. They can see clearly that the item was damaged in delivery but your common customer would not be able to recognize damage until it was unwrapped. Rather than handle this expeditiously the company Instead tells you to submit a claim to the delivery company that they hired to deliver your item. I would never do business with this company again because their practices are not good business practices. I am now having to buy another ac unit ( over 1400) until their delivery company decides if they will give me a full refund for the damaged item that they damaged. Signed disgusted customer. I will report this company to several entities for bad online sales. Update: the company never resolved the issue and the carrier delivery company failed to take any responsibility. Lesson learned.. not a company to do business with!!

I was very unhappy with the service I recived from Alpine Heating and Air.
I hired them to come out and remove and replace 60 feet of gas line on my roof. The first visit my technician spent 30 minites on Monday cutting off the old pipe and throwing it off the roof. The roofers instructed that they would need to return Thursday and connect the new gas line after the roof was finished. Thursday came, no new gas line. Friday came, no new gas line. Saturday my roofer called and got someone to show up to connect the new gas line. It took 5 hours for the second technician to finish the job. He explained he would need to return to have the city inspect the new line, and it should only take about one hour.
I recived a bill for $1400!!! What? Im not sure how this could have added up to $1400, so I called and asked for an itemized bill to show the breakdown of my charges. I recived nothing. I called a second time, still I recived nothing. I went in to speak with the owner and I was told he would look into it. The next day I recived a text saying " the bill should have been $1960.00 and that I was getting a deal"
Still no itemized bill.
I would think twice before trusting Alpine Heating and Air to provide you with a fair and honest price, and make sure you insist on being given an itemized bill.

Bought a new furnace fan & within 1 1/2 months it was starting to go out. I called & tech was at my house the same day. Had to order new motor & called be back to give me info same evening. Next day he installed it & made everything rite! Kelly was AWSOME & very professional.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. I called 3x in a 10 day period to get a new a/c unit installed at my home. I was told I would get a call back from a salesman within a few days. While I waited I called First Call Jewel. First Call had someone at my home the next day and a new a/c unit installed within 5 days (For being summer I was very impressed with that quick of an install) and they were great to deal with. I have been enjoying my new a/c unit for 2 weeks now...and still have not heard from the "salesman" at Alpine. That is my personal experience.
I also manage 84 units at a local apartment complex and have given Alpine many many jobs over the years...Everything from dispatch to billing and customer service (AND STILL CANT GET A CALL BACK FROM A SALESMAN ON MY PERSONAL HOME) has been descending down the rabbit hole. It is such a headache to even call and speak to the dispatchers anymore, they are unfriendly and unhelpful. They act like we are a bother. I understand some of our issues are a pain but they get paid for doing the job- we don't complain about the charges or neglect our payments. I would have thought that would be good job security taking our calls but every time (over this last year) it becomes more of a hassle than its worth. James is a great technician if you are lucky enough to get him but that's the only thing Alpine has going for them now in my opinion. Need a total re-vamp starting with first impressions on the calls coming in from customers requesting TO PAY for their services.

Trustworthy. Honest. Ethical. They came and fixed my AC for less than $500 by replacing a few parts and their competitor was saying it wasn’t fixable and we needed to spend $7,000 for a new system.

When the blower in my original furnace went out, and we were without A/C in mid July, they responded promptly to my request for an estimate. They told me it may be 2 - 3 was before they could get me into the schedule. However, they ordered my furnace promptly and installed it one week from the day they gave me the estimate.

They were professional, customer oriented, easy to work with, and did quality work. We are very pleased with our first experience with Alpine Heating and Air Conditioning.

2023 Update: I lowered my rating based on a recent quote. The guy seemed focused on how he wanted to do it and not on what I wanted. I don’t feel the same quality of customer service that I have in the past.

Approximately 2016: I had an old leaking zone manifold for a hydronic heating system and a problem with the control system in my boiler. After contacting Alpine I was quickly forwarded to the owner who was very responsive to my needs. He gave me a clear description of the services and costs for the repair. The repairs were completed just as he stated. He was flexible with my specific requests. The tech did a nice job at completing the work in a timely manner. I felt the price was fair for the work completed.

11-28-2020 - I just had them do a similar job this year. Great job once again.

The worst service ever. Several months ago I had the Navien service rep come and look at an installation another company had performed. He came out and promised to follow up with an estimate within that week. He never did. I called again as a reminder, they indicated the estimate would be done that day, it was not. I have called again and still do not have an estimate, now they want $35 to come and do an estimate? I gave up and call another company, they are performing a free estimate.

My thermostat had given me an error and stopped working on the Friday before a holiday weekend. I called another company who sent out a tech who spent about 2 hours trying to figure out the problem. I was told that my furnace had major problems and it would be a waste of time to repair and very expensive - I should consider replacing the whole furnace and A/C units. I was given a bid of around $5,000 to repair or between $8,000 and $20,000 to replace (I have a 3 zone system). I was without A/C the whole weekend.
The next week I called Alpine to get a second opinion. I didn't tell them about my experience with the other company. They sent a tech who took about 10 minutes to tell me that my motor had gone out and that I should brace myself for the cost - it was going to be expensive. He then informed me that I could replace the motor for about $1,300 including labor. He also pointed out that the manual to my system was sitting open to the page about the motor wiring and thought it was funny (the other company's tech seemed to be learning on the job). 2 days later I was up and running.
Alpine sent a bill and made a big mistake. Instead of charging me $820 for the motor they only charged me $82. I felt so guilty because they had been so awesome that I called them and pointed out the billing error. They likely would have caught it anyways. They thanked me and told me they would send a new invoice. I received it and it was for exactly what I was quoted. They had also tucked inside a $50 gift card to Jaker's, I can only assume to thank me for catching the billing mistake.
Great work. Polite technicians. Great customer service. Great results. I recommend Alpine Heating & Air Conditioning.

I had a wall gas furnace go out. I got a bid of $2800 from another company. They claimed the heat exchanger was bad and red tagged it. I called Alpine, they tested the air coming out of the furnace. It was fine. They replaced a part and it was up and running.

I asked Alpine for a bid to upgrade my furnace and water heater from electric to natural gas. It took them a few days before they visited me in Parker, but they gave me a reasonable bid given the house had never had gas service. They came out when they said they would in the middle of winter with very cold and snowy weather. I asked that we never be without heat overnight. They made three trips. One full day to do all the underhouse plumbing for gas lines, then waited a day for state inspection, then out for a full day of wiring, deinstalled old equipment, installed roof vents, cleared snow for that, installed new equipment, hooked up my new stove, tested everything and came back the next day to tie down the water heater properly before the next inspection. Jeremy was out here each day making sure all was going well. The crew was very knowlegable and friendly. Inspections passed. I would recommend them for a similar job.

Alpine took 3 weeks to fix my boiler, claiming the parts took that long to arrive. When I looked up the parts listed on my statement, they were in-stock at several on-line sites and offered same-day shipping. Plus, they marked up the parts by 250% ! However, I thought the technicians were professional & courteous. I would not recommend them.

Terrible service. Would never call them again. Tried getting someone to come service a new fireplace. Spoke with either the manager or owner, I don't remember which, and I explained what our problem was. He told me he would specifically come to my house to take a look. On the day of the appointment he sent someone else, that my wife didn't even feel comfortable being in the house with. This guy spent 20-30 minutes in the basement then came upstairs and told my wife that he had no idea why he was even at our house, or what he was supposed to be looking at so he left. I called again a week later and spoke with the same owner/manager. He apologized and assured me that he would personally call my wife to schedule the appointment so he could come and look at it. This was over a month ago, and he never even bothered to call us back.

Called and asked for a service call. Took all my information and said they would take care of it. They never performed the inspection and never called me back to let me know that they didn't want to do it. After I called another company who responded the same day, I called to cancel the service call and they acted like nothing was wrong. Very unhappy with the communication/service.

We called because we thought we had a problem with our condensate trap on our furnace. It turned out we had a different unrelated problem, but the repairman was very helpful in suggesting what the problem might be, and only charged us for a furnace service call instead of the more expensive repair call.
