Had an entry door on the garage replaced by this crew. The price and quality of the work was excellent, highly recommended.

Joshua, with his crew (Greg, Nathan, Rick) tore down and replaced a pergola on the deck of my shed. Joshua answered all of my questions by text (60 some! patient man!) and they came and completed the job in 2 days. They don't take lunch breaks (leaving the job, that is), were on time or early both of those days. The finished product is beautiful! Can't say enough good things about all of these men. The price was fair and they also replaced damaged deck boards on that deck. Joshua had creative ideas that he used on the railings on this pergola/porch repair. It is a thing of beauty now.

They also replaced a screen on my house porch and repaired the outside wood of the same porch. Would use these guys again in a heartbeat. Customer service is a priority for Joshua and his crew. A rare thing these days.

I had water damage in my front door and flooring and Josh understood the problem better than any sales representative and came up with a cost effective solution no one else could or would have. Josh and his guys were awesome. Had a door frame, a few feet of soffit, and gutters repaired. They showed up and were professional, thorough, and most of all completed the work expected. I am definitely using them again on projects I can’t complete myself.

I met with Josh initially to give me an estimate for a series of jobs that I simply do not have the time to do myself. I mentioned that I hoped to keep costs low, but wanted quality work done. Josh discussed in detail with me ALL of the various options and costs, making it quite clear that his primary interest was in satisfying my desire above all else (at NO point was he trying to sell me on anything). He is an honest broker, to be sure! On the day scheduled to do these tasks (and there were many), Josh showed up with two very capable, professional assistants that did ALL of the work in a single day!! (Incredible, given the amount of work I asked them to accomplish.) One of the tasks (fixing my backdoor with some degraded framework) needed a re-attack, and Josh and his team came back later that week to get that done in a single morning. Josh and his team are professional, knowledgeable, friendly, honest, and efficient...and do excellent work! I will ABSOLUTELY reach out to this company and team again for ALL of my project needs in the future, and could not recommend them enough!

I used Yorktown’s Handyman, LLC last week and I am very happy with their work. Their craftsmanship is excellent. They replaced trim work on the outside of the house (rake boards), replaced several deck/stair boards that required detailed cutting (octagon angles), repaired a patch of siding that was ripped off during the wind storm. They definitely take a lot of pride in their workmanship. I highly recommend them.

Josh and his crew repaired some rotten wood and flooring in my upstairs bathroom. Also replaced the linoleum flooring. Outstanding job - looks just like new! Recommend them to everyone!

I was looking to have a toilet replaced at my shop. I did a search online and saw Josh's listing for Yorktown Handyman. I called him up on a Wed. and told him what I was looking to have done, he quoted me a price, and said he could have it done that Friday afternoon around 3pm. He showed up early, and had the toilet swapped out in about an hour and a half. I would HIGHLY recommend Josh at Yorktown Handyman!

I will use these folks for all my future repair work. They are punctual, professional, and do super work! Their rates are great and they leave the job site in immaculate shape! The Yorktown Handyman team came out and pulled us out of a jam with almost no notice. Called late one evening and explained the situation and they were out fixing the issue at 8:00 the next morning. I haven’t experienced that service in many years. It wasn’t an easy fix, cutting wood shiplap on the ceiling.
Both carpenters were very professional and cleaned up after their work. The work was performed to perfection.

I’m so Impressed with this company. They arrived on time, they worked quickly and so well together and did a wonderful job repairing woodwork on the outside of the house. The work was perfect! Had them come in and replace a patio door. They went above and beyond helping me get the "Wrong\Broken" Door sent by Lowes returned "Twice" to Williamsburg's Lowes because it was the only store that had one.

They finished the job within the estimated time and asked questions about what we thought as they went to be sure we were satisfied. Yorktown Handyman’s Teresa Ballard is the hardest working carpenter I have ever seen in action. Except for assistance from a helper to remove the deck boards on the first day of work, Teresa completed the entire job of laying deck boards, replacing the cap rail, completely rebuilding the steps and its rail, and enclosing the underpinning. Her attention to detail is a hallmark of her pride in her craft, and I appreciate that very much. She wasted no time completing the job, working long hours each day, without complaint. Josh replaced some rotted wood trim on my 3rd floor dormer windows. This was dangerous work. Josh devised a system to keep himself safe while working at that elevation. Even after I added some additional work, Josh completed everything in record time for under the quoted estimate. Highly recommend!

Josh has done 4 jobs for me this year. Each one was done just as we requested. He is very conscientious and his estimates are always accurate. He recently replaced our front porch ceiling and did an amazing job. He worked with us to find the right wood and stain color. You will be very happy with any work that he does for you.

I hired Yorktown Handyman Services to take up an old carpet in a small bedroom. The hardwood floors underneath were in surprisingly good shape. However, two old holes were present where the radiator used to be. I thought we could just plug the holes but Josh Griffin, the owner of the company said that was not good enough. He is such a perfectionist. He replaced the wood plank to perfectly match the floor, added quarter round molding and it looks amazing!. You will never go wrong hiring this company to help you. They are friendly, responsible and they really care about the work they do. Love these folks!!!

In the past few months we have had Josh from Yorktown Handyman replace both our bay window and back french doors. He did a magnificent job with both. He kept in good communication with us, was prompt, let us know exactly what he planned to do and did quality work at a great price. We have a list of things we plan to have him work on in the future.

I've had two significant jobs with them so far. I needed help on a french door that was seeping water. Called Jim, the owner, and got an estimate. Had a day schedule delay, but was called in advance so not a huge deal. Work was preformed well and under budget. After the first, I trusted them to do a bathroom remodel. Pulled an old tub and placed a new one. I worked with Josh throughout and he spent the time designing with me. It started with a small bump out to make room for a wider tub and has transitioned to a beautiful custom cabinet next to the tub for storage. This project came in over budget, but mainly due to my change orders. I am painting now and will upload pictures as soon as its presentable.

Both jobs done with professionalism. Contractors showed up on time or early every time. I trust them and will be using them again the next time I break something. Honest folk who do work they would do in their own homes.

Had two porch railings and a shed door replaced. The two gentlemen that did the work was outstanding. Have a few more projects to have done so I will be scheduling those when it's not so hot.

This review is not about the work or the workmen, both of which were done well. The gentlemen who did the work were courteous, timely, and friendly. I am deeply troubled by the billing process, which I found deeply unprofessional. Jim, the owner, simply told me that's the way it is. In essence, the labor rate was presented as 92 per hour when in initial contact but at the end of the work (a partial bathroom upgrade) but when the invoice was written it was 92 per person. I have hired handymen several times in my life and have never seen this practice. Not once. My spouse works in the industry and also has never come across this practice. I am not often one to complain about such things online but this struck me as rather shady, despite the quality of the work. Be weary of the labor costs associated with doing business with this company.

Josh replaced 2 cracked tiles in my kitchen. They called back, showed up when they said they would, and did the work for the price they quoted. Seems simple enough but that's hard to find when hiring a contractor. Josh was also very professional and friendly. He saw we had a bird and realized some of his adhesive might irritate her and gave me a chance to move her to another room for a while until the adhesive dried. The floor looks great and I'd highly recommend the company.

Long story short, my dryer continually gave me an error message that said that the air flow was restricted. I had a local dryer repair company come to my home and replace a part and the same error message continued. I was then told to contact to a vent cleaning company to inquire about the issue. I bought a vent cleaner that attached to my handheld drill and cleared the vent as best I could with huge chunks of lint removed. Still, the vent cleaning company said I needed extensive repairs that may cost upwards of $3,500 and would include rerouting vent pipes to the dryer, expanding the dryer vent pipe itself through the exterior masonry and any number of other issues. The vent cleaning company could not do that work, but they suggested that I find a residential construction or remodeling company that would. I called maybe 5-7 companies. Out of those 5-7 companies, two people showed up at my home to give estimates. Out of those two estimates, only one gave me an immediate quote and asked when I'd be availble to get started. That was Yorktown's Handyman LLC. I was quoted at $1,400.00 for the repairs which included rerouting the dryer vent to a new exterior location with rigid pipe and replacing the flexible tube previously in place. Josh, the repairman, was at my home right away at 8:30 on the scheduled day of repair. He finished the entire job in about 3 hours. He didn't have to reroute anything. Rather, he replaced the existing flexible tube with rigid piping. Josh was prompt, courteous, kind, and, when he needed a part, he just drove over to True Value and picked it up which added mere minutes to the overall repair time. Josh did wonderful work, he's a veteran, and the entire cost came in $1,000, yes, $1,000 less than I was originally quoted. That is not a typo. I was quoted at $1,400 and I ultimately paid $425 for repairs. I can't say enough great things about Josh and his work. I am absolutely impressed. I'd hire Yorktown's Handyman LLC again in a moment and I absolutely intend to do so. Wonderful work, quick service, fair price, terrific employees, and based locally. What more could you ask for?
