Let me preface this by saying I have emails to back up every word of this.
I contacted VW of Lebanon about a specific vehicle at another dealership and asked if they could obtain it. They said yes—then claimed the dealership that had it “doesn’t do trades.” That was lie #1.
The next day, they said they found the vehicle. I asked for financing info, and the Dave told me, I’m tired, I’ve worked all week, I’ll get it to you tomorrow. Then he went on vacation and passed me off to Patrick.
Patrick said the vehicle was four hours away in New York and that they were waiting to hear back from the other dealer. That was lie #2.
After more delays, I contacted the New York dealership directly. They told me no one from Lebanon VW had ever reached out, and the vehicle was absolutely available.
When I confronted Lebanon with this, I got silence, then excuses. At that point, it was obvious: they never intended to get me the car I asked for. They wasted five days of my time, took $1,000 of my money, and tried to steer me toward something sitting on their lot.
If this saves even one person from going through that same manipulative, dishonest runaround, then it’s worth sharing. Find another dealership. Within six hours of contacting another dealership in New Hampshire, I now own exactly the vehicle I asked VW of Lebanon to find in the first place. There is no room for their inexcusable behavior, there are plenty of dealerships to work with. They should be ashamed of themselves.
Just bought a used 2019 GTI with extended warranty from Lebanon VW and just 2 months in my door wouldn’t latch was acting up. I called Services and we got something set up in a couple of weeks but then it broke closing it afterwork, and I brought it in to just talk with Brandon the service manager. He was right on top of it and got me an appointment way sooner than we had already planned and I’d leave it with them. On my way out, I was told a tech was done early and asked if I could wait around and they would get it done right then. I was pretty upset about the situation when I showed up, who wants to hold their door closed on the highway while driving a manual home from work. I was upset at the situation but not VW. Brandon and his team were very understanding and sympathetic! Definitely glad I got my used car here and feel confident in their service department.
Great experience buying an atlas from Dave and Keith. Dave helped me and my wife find the exact trim and color and actually picked up my car from Maine. Fair price and got it with the .9% financing. Such a great experience. Thank you both!
