Of all the contractors we’ve worked with since moving to Bellingham, Corey and The Insulation Company has been the most disappointing. He talked a lot about the pros & cons of materials in the beginning, and seemed knowledgeable and communicative. We were considering Rockwool given the damp situation of our crawlspace, and he said he was one of the few installers in the area who would work with the material. But in the end, we got the sense he did not, in fact, have much experience with Rockwool (if at all). After their first day of installation, the batts did not fit the joists and fell onto their safety string leaving a 4” air gap between the insulation and floorboards. When we asked about this he said you don’t want airspace as it would trap cold air. But when he came out to help his installer finish the job, they did not correct the air-gap and the remaining insulation also dropped to the bottom of the joist. After months of phone tag and back and forth’s, he did not want to correct the installation because it was either too much labor or because he insisted he’d installed it properly. When we mentioned we would need attic insulation in the future, he then said he would fix the crawlspace if we gave him the new job. Eventually he conceded to correct the dropped insulation, but only with quick metal brackets (which he did, first, try to get us to do ourselves). Upon looking into the brackets, we learned they weren’t recommended or used anymore because they tend to rust. But in the end it didn’t matter, as it’s been over a year and we’ve yet to hear from Corey again. We gave up and called other insulation companies in a wider area. One particular company had decades of experience and we could tell immediately, by leaps and bounds, the difference in their experience. They even knew without coming out, just from the year our house was built, that those batts would not fit. I’m not sure what Corey’s 10-year warranty is really worth. Perhaps he’s fine to work with when installing materials he is used to. But in the end, we paid the other company to correct their poor workmanship.

Excellent work at a very reasonable price. Cory is very well organized and knowledgeable as well as very honest — a trait that seems to be less common now. He was able to navigate the complexities in our 2 attics, and his crew were very hardworking and polite.

Very happy with their work and rebates offered. Our crawl space is now all cleaned up and new ducting is helping keep our house more comfortable.

I got 3 bids to insulate my crawl space. I was a bit leery selecting them because they were unknown to me. After the work was completed I did a thorough inspection. Not only did they install thicker insulation than the other bidders, but the quality of their work exceeded industrial standards. Yes, I researched that also. Great value for my dollar. A pleasure to do business with. I highly recommend them.

The Insulation Company was great to work with. They completed a crawlspace cleanout and installed new vapor barrier and floor insulation. The communication from them was prompt and accurate. They brought to my attention the available energy rebates and made the process of utilizing the rebates seamless. I would recommend them and use them in the future for sure.

The Insulation Company helped us out when we were in a pinch to get some work done before we closed on our house. The reception worked hard to get someone out on time to do a bid on the work and Cory and his team made it happen in a timely manner, sent us before and after pics and didnt leave a mess when they were done. After going back and forth with a few different companies, the insulation company was the one to go to for my insulation needs. The team was professional, responsive and very much kept me informed throughout the process. They insulated the crawl space, replaced what needed to be replaced and where in and out very, very fast. The service was not disruptive, or noisy. (important because I was working from home that day)

I got another quote from a different company in town and they wanted 4 times the amount what The Insulation Company had quoted me.

The choice was simple, pay quadruple for the same work, or go with the insulation company...Well, I think it is very clear that I made the right decision. I highly recommend them and their team and I will be hitting them up again to get the rest of my home done. Overall 5/5 stars and 5/5 service.

Removed and replaced flexduct and vapor barrier; installed R30 insulation in crawl space. Working with this company was awesome! After our area flooded, they were swamped with requests, and we were stressed. Cory always took the time needed to talk, and kept us apprised of schedule. The kindness and professionalism were amazing and deeply appreciated. Entire experience with them was really positive.

The service we got was removal of very old insulation from the attic and replacement with much more/better insulation plus baffles and sealing any entry to the house from the ceiling. They also removed our old torn vapor barrier from the crawl space, put in a new vapor barrier, sealed all openings to the floor underneath, insulated the pipes, and insulated the house underneath. We had no insulation at all in the crawl space so this was great! They were prompt, professional, and thorough. We could not be more pleased. Cory told us about a rebate program we qualified for and even did most of the paperwork for it so all we had to do was answer a couple of questions, sign, and submit the paperwork! The big bonus was the cost! They did this job for much less than I expected even before I knew of the rebate! The Insulation Company did a fantastic job providing the type of insulation I requested. They communicated clearly and took the time to answer my questions. They provided the service as outlined in their quote. I would recommend them.

These folks work hard qt doing everything right. I felt bad they were packing trash bags of old insulation so I said they can drive on my lawn and they were thankful, but opted out of doing it. They left no mess at all. All work was done and they came ontime. I'll hire them again in the spring for my roof insulation.

The guys did an amazing job on my home. They removed the old insulation in the attic and crawl space, remediated minor rodent and water damage in the crawl space, sealed everything correctly, blew in insulation into the attic, and installed batt insulation and a new vapor barrier in the crawl space. We had the same insulation work done (removal of old insulation and moisture barrier and installing new) by another company three years ago. The Insulation Company used better quality insulation and installed it properly. Far superior work! Very friendly, willing to talk in detail about the work to be done, and very professional. Took special care to make sure rodents wouldn't have access to the crawl space and insulation. We're grateful for the quality work. Money well spent. Highly recommended.

This company has really taken care of us. We needed our insulation replaced quickly and they came in days later and got it done. Their workers are meticulous in their work and they left the jobsite each day cleaner than they found it. I can't recommend them enough.

Our experience with the entire operation has been stellar.
The assessment of our rat problem was diagnosed fairly and realistically.
A month-long weekly schedule was set up to check traps and bait stations. No more rats were found in that month.
Extensive damage had already been done in a few years past:
The first recommendation was to install more secure doors in our two crawlspace entry points. That was done quickly.
Next jobs were to replace the entire building's attic and crawlspace insulation and any damaged furnace ducting.
The crawlspace insulation, ducting and plastic sheeting on the dirt floor were all replaced by two gentlemen in one day and all while wearing plastic coveralls and full face masks! I have never seen anyone work so hard and nonstop in my life.
When they were finished they sprayed their way out of the space with a disinfectant spray. Well done, you two!
The Company also made sure that all fan ducts were reconnected free of charge if required - and there were several.
Next come the two attic spaces and I am confident the same terrific job will be accomplished.

They were really detailed in how they went about fixing our home's insulation, asking questions and checking in when necessary. They were really first company that showed up on time when working on my home, and I have been working on my home for months now. They were prepared to fix things on the spot. They saw something that needed repair that wasn't in the report we sent them and fixed it without question. I have never seen such hardworking and honest people. Look no further if you’re trying to find the highest quality insulation company in Whatcom county. We had a rodent issue and the old insulation under our home had been installed with wire stays, which we learned aren’t very reliable. Over time, between the old rusting stays and rodent activity, the insulation had fallen out all over our crawl space. I’d started trying to rehang the insulation myself, but soon realized it was too soiled and damaged. Plus, our 1920’s home has a shallow, non-standard crawl space, so it was just not a one-person affair. I decided to call some companies for estimates.

We started with foundation “specialists”, because our crawl space is non-standard due to the house age and construction. Several companies made it clear they weren’t interested in this small of a job, our house being under 900 square foot. One large company’s estimator (with advertising that says they have specialists and engineers for any problem) told me he’d get back to me with an array of options, but instead ghosted us.

We started calling insulation companies. The first larger company we had out, said they’d do the work once the space was certified, which wasn’t going to happen given foundation repair outfits wouldn't respond. Another larger local insulation company told us we should just close the space up as best we could, rodent soiled with useless insulation hanging, and forget about it.

Fortunately, I’d made an appointment with the Insulation Company for an estimate. Christian came out, looked the space over and told me they could clean out and re-insulate our crawl space. I was astounded and relieved that someone could finally help us with our situation. Christian was kind, exceedingly professional and followed through with a written estimate in short order. He specifically told me it was his goal to provide solutions for his customers and not just walk away from a difficult problem. The price for the work was competitive and affordable. We couldn’t schedule them soon enough.

Not only could the Insulation Company help us, but they sent out an incredible crew, Dani and James, their insulation specialists. Dani and James were exceedingly professional, clean and competent. They communicated about the scope of work, then started with quickly and efficiently clearing the old insulation and vapor barrier, thoroughly cleaning up after themselves as they went. The new materials were installed with care and concern for our older non-standard 1920’s home. Even when they discovered the joist spans were odd sizes in areas, they adapted materials to work in the space.
