We had a new front door installed by Jeremy, Nick, and Xhoi. From start to finish they were incredibly efficient, professional, and courteous. The whole process - the initial quote from Abbey, scheduling and updates from Isabel, door delivery, and installation - was flawless. Good customer service is hard to find these days but Tacheny hit it out of the park. We are delighted with our new door and couldn’t recommend Tacheny Exteriors highly enough!

Tacheny did an amazing job on a soffit and door replacement project at my home. From the first discussion to final inspection, they showed real concern for my needs, cleanliness, adherence to the job intentions, and were very friendly to work with. Summer of 2024 strong winds dropped a very large tree on our house. Tacheny Exteriors, that just relocated their opetations just blocks away, stopped as we were assessing the damage. An employee from Tacheny was driving past and stopped to offer help. With thunderstorms forcasted for the night, Dave Preble contaced a roofing company to get the large tree off the house as he assembled a crew to get the roof covered before the end of the day! Thus keeping the house protected from the rain and water damage which would have greatly exacerbated the situation. He immediately started the process of repair. Due to the extensive ridge beam and rafter damage, the entire roof structure needed to be removed and rebuilt which included engineering and a large crew headed by the very knowledgeable Bledi for demolition and replacement. Meanwhile, in the office, Lexi was working with the insurance company negotiating to get our home back to its original state without any hassles or worries about recovery payment. We are very pleased with the work Tacheny did and will highly recommend anyone and everyone to call Tacheny Exteriors if ever in need of services.

Abbey was so great to work with! This was my first big home project and I know nothing about siding. Really appreciate the help from Abbey selecting the right siding at the right price for me. It's not how you start but how you finish that matters. We had some bumps in the beginning with a sub contractor Tacheny hired. But they removed the crew due to poor workmanship and and had their own team re do the job. James Hardie siding is a premium product and to get the most out of the siding you want it done by skilled workers who have the experience. I assure you, you only want to do a siding job once. Jack, Jim, Karol, and Christian have been easy to communicate wirh. Top notch results. Tacheny did what they said they would do and did the job right. We are very pleased with the results.

Don’t let this contractor bully you around!
They have continual bad communication. Kept saying they would send a quote and then radio silence for days past their own deadlines.
If a bid is complicated or needs more time, that’s okay. That needs to be communicated, however, and making excuses for poor communication or blaming my roof doesn’t resolve the issue.

I had some recent storm damage and Joe came out as quick as could be. I'm so pleased with the knowledge he has and he was very honest with me. I felt that he really cares about his customers, it's not about making a buck. I highly recommend Tachney and working with Joe R for your roof, siding, and doors!

Their crew did our neighbors house and decided to scrape the old roof off over our fence piling it up and destroying the 12 ft garden of seedlings we had just planted then trespassing and finishing off anything that survived by walking all over it. They never responded after I emailed details and pictures. Still picking up nails in our yard and alley. NOTE WHAT THEY SAY BELOW AND WHAT THEY ACTUALLY SAID TO ME. =

The site supervisor did go out to the property right away to ensure that there was no debris on your property and he could not see any garden damage. ALL FALSE

Your wife gave permission to the crew to go on the property to pick up any fallen debris as the houses are so close together. HARDLY PERMISSION WHEN THEY'RE ALREADY IN YARD PICKING IT UP AND YOUR DOG ALMOST MAULED THEM

While we were pleased with the workmanship of the Tacheny crew the business side and billing was incredibly disorganized and bordering on unethical. We were contacted months after the work was completed saying they needed more money and threatening to send a bill to a collections agency. Furthermore, the billing team back dated a bill and sent it on a completely different date. The billing practices of Tacheny would make it impossible for me to recommend this business.

I would highly recommend tachney. Josh W took excellent care of us. He went above and beyond. Josh was great to work with through the whole process of our insurance claim. We talked regularly and work was done immediately. We where so happy with Josh that we have been recommending him to friends and family.

Tacheny was very helpful, from setting up and and deciding, to dealing with insurance, to being clear about scheduling, and answering our questions, every step of the way. The work was done early and looks great! Passed city inspection with flying colors. So glad we went with Tacheny!

Tacheny did a wonderful job in getting our roof replaced following the hail storms of 2022. They worked with our insurance company to make sure the job was done right, and we were only responsible for our deductible.

Tacheny Exteriors staff were very responsive through out the repairs to our house as a result of storm damage. The finish product was excellent and the staff made the process painless. We did have some issues with our insurance company and Tacheny helped out in that process to insure we received the coverage and repairs come to us.

I would like to share that our experience with Tacheny Exteriors was very good. Kent was easy to work with. There team worked with our insurance company to resolve a roofing problem.

Updated to add: Tacheny’s reply to this review is everything I expected. A perfect example of shifting blame to us and our lack of "satisfaction" rather than being accountable for mistakes. Work was sloppy & materials were installed damaged, leading to extensive delay

HEADACHE AFTER HEADACHE: We hired Tacheny to do an exterior remodel with J.H. siding, stone, & new windows. Work started 6/2021. 2.5 yrs later, in 2/2024, work was completed & we made final payment. Throughout the project, communication, customer service & craftsmanship were disappointing. There are too many issues to detail in the character limit that a google review allows, but I’ll highlight a few major issues. While all are now resolved, the stress we went through was enormous. We were met with ignored questions & arguing nearly every step of the way.

1 - Months after our contract was signed, Tacheny called & told us they couldn’t perform the work they agreed to at the contracted price because they had forgotten to “price in” $2k for the 0% financing. They finally agreed to do the work at the contracted price, but not without numerous stressful phone calls.

2 - Craftsmanship/attention to detail throughout the project were subpar. There were several examples of the design plan not being followed, though it was clearly marked/labeled on the crew’s plans. When we brought it to their attention, siding color mistakes were covered up with paint instead of being replaced with the correct color. In other areas, when pieces needed to be removed/replaced, the adjacent pieces of siding were damaged/scratched, & the surrounding caulk in some areas looks like our school-aged child applied it.

3 - Our Versetta Stone was installed damaged with major chipping. Tacheny’s original fix was to cover the stone with paint that wasn’t color matched & not approved for touch ups on the face of the stone, thus voiding our manufacturer’s warranty. It also changed the entire color scheme of the stone - it was not what we had carefully selected for our home. Getting Tacheny to agree to replace the product was a stressful, weeks-long saga.

4 - Shortcuts left & right: Much of our J.H. siding would have been out-of-warranty because of missing/incorrect flashing, or unmet clearances. The Versetta Stone rep who came out to inspect the damaged stone pointed this out to us. When Tacheny came to “fix” these errors, it was still done incorrectly. We found ourselves in a position where WE had to be the ones sending copies of the JH specifications, explaining why the work done was incorrect. We expected Tacheny, not us, to be the siding professionals inspecting their work to ensure it was completed to manufacturers specs. Our impression was that they either did not know how to complete the work correctly, OR they intentionally took a shortcut & hoped we wouldn’t notice. We are left wondering how many other areas have errors not visible to us at this time.

CUSTOMER SERVICE HEADACHES: We noticed consistent patterns in our communication with Tacheny to get these and other issues resolved. 1) Many of our questions that were clearly laid out in emails went unanswered. 2) They demanded quick action from us in terms of payment and marking off punch list items with tape, yet often took weeks or, in some cases, months to reply to our emails or address said punch list items. Several non-replies. 3) Gaslighting, arguing, & being told that what we felt were major craftsmanship issues were only noticeable to us. General Manager Theresa threatened property liens several times, even though the work was not completed in a manner that fulfilled Tacheny’s end of the contract. She stated in one of her emails that “the contract is based on product installed and not aesthetics.” Let that sink in if you’re considering hiring this company. They’re concerned with getting paid after installing the product (even if sloppy) & not with taking pride in the aesthetics/craftsmanship of the project. Bottom line: If you have reasonable expectations for the quality of expensive work done on your home, look elsewhere.

Tacheny is the best company I've ever dealt with for anything, ever. I’ve never written a Google review before but I was so impressed with them I wanted to let people know. Every person I dealt with was professional, friendly, and helpful. Their communication system was great - at each step of the way they emailed what to expect and when, and they replied right away to my questions.
Riley, on the sales end, was just awesome, so nice to work with - explaining our options, the insurance coverage and process, getting back to us about additional work we were considering, and tracking down information we asked for.
During the roofing, Bledi was onsite throughout the job to make sure it was going smoothly. He readily handled our questions and requests and was so great to work with; we really felt taken care of. And they did a beautiful job.

My house was struck by lightning. There was extensive damage to the roof, rafters and the siding. Tachney had a crew out really quickly and replaced rafters, plywood and the shingles. Due to pandemic related supply issues, the siding took longer to replace. When finished, the old wood siding was replaced with a concrete wood looking panels. It should last forever. Great Job!!

We all know a new roof can be expensive! I decided to use Tacheny because I know the company has been around for a long time and you don’t stay in business long if you do poor work. They have a great reputation so I went ahead and booked them to put in my new roof. I couldn’t be happier with the workmanship and the customer service. I definitely recommend you use Tacheny!

Riley did an excellent job with my project. He was there before, during, and after to make sure my questions were answered and I was satisfied with the process and work that was done. Company was organized and quality work was performed on my home.

Simple repair of soffits on garage, some roof decking and re-shingle one slope of garage. Here are some issues:
1) Nathan L told me in early Sept 2023 that work would start by end of September. They finally scheduled a date for December which I said was unacceptable and they started in mid November
2) Who ever orders materials did not supply new ice dam or roofing felt. Also did not order vented soffit material, which when they finally did, added 2-3 weeks onto project.
3) Crew placed new shingle on roof slope without removing old felt or at least covering bare plywood. Possibly would have left as done if I hadn't noticed and pointed it out.
4) Joe R (second PM) argued with me on numerous occasions about materials, what scope of work was and even about poor workmanship
5) Blamed their crew for placing shingles directly on plywood, when they did not supply new felt. Is crew used to this?

Am very disturbed that I signed up with Tacheny and would not recommend without watching them closely

The best experience I could have asked for dealing with Nathan and the Tacheny crew. He came out was able to explain everything that I had questions about and the folks in the office are some of the nicest ,easiest people to talk to and help get everything in order I've had others come out but Tacheny went above and beyond to make sure the work got approved and done

My husband initiated Tachney to repair our overhang on the front of our home in April 2023. He passed away at the end of that month. I contacted Tachney in the beginning of May. After many calls and texts I signed a contract on July 13, 2023
so they could start, finally, the repair. I was promised this would be done by August 18 because I was having a large family get together and wanted it completed by then.
Oops, my consultant was fired and I had to start over with new consultant. On September 27th I was asked to sign ANOTHER CONTRACT. On October 24, they FINALLY had the soffit opened up. Took them about 15 minutes, at which time I was 1st notified that they didn't do framing, and would have to hire that out.
On November 9th I was told they were looking into a framer. On November 24th I was done being patient. I contacted a contractor friend and the project was done, reframed, roofed and closed up on December 14, 2023. I notified Tachney that the project was completed. I was told by them that "I ghosted them" !
And that I owed them more money.
I was "ghosted" by Tachney for 8 months. They did 15 minutes of work and purchased the soffit replacement panels.
$2600.00 later. I was threatened and very unprofessionally yelled at for even trying to work something out. Guess I was in the wrong. So much for using my local small business

We had our roof, downspouts, and window wraps replaced by Tacheny after a claim was approved by our insurance! Riley was the best and helped us out through the whole entire process. In addition, the whole process was significantly faster than I anticipated. Thank you!

We had our roof replaced, and the Tacheny team was helpful and upfront about the process the whole way through. Nathan was great with getting everything started and set up for us, and kept us in the loop through the various stages of the project. When there was a question about billing with the insurance company, the accounting department helped get it straightened out. Any time I talked with someone at the business, they were very friendly and helpful.

What was supposed to be a simple one week or so project turned into about 20 months. A new crew out for every step of the job, so zero consistency as to what the project was or what had been done already. The office staff was unresponsive to calls or emails about the job. In the end, some windows got installed and siding replaced, but the water leak (the original issue) was made worse by the Tacheny crews.

The service was professional. Sales personnel was attentive available knowledgeable and quick to respond and always OnPoint... Very happy with Tacheny Exteriors.

I carefully evaluated three different roofing companies to handle the hail damage I suffered. I chose Tacheny Exteriors and am very glad I did. They are excellent with their communications, and were professional, prompt, reliable, and on time throughout the process. They did a great job picking up every day and leaving a clean worksite (a pet peeve of mine). And when finished they fully scoured the property and left behind no nails, construction material, or other miscellaneous detritus anywhere. I know this because a year later I've not found a single item. So great work all around, from beginning to end.

From sales to support this was a cringe. Tacheny requested payment in full before work could begin. Tacheny project team completely non-responsive to basic questions. Tacheny work crew damaged shrubbery around the house, left cables they removed hanging from home, and failed to complete some of the work in the agreement. And now, water is streaming into our home when it rains. Yup, the Tachney workers damaged our gutter system causing flooding into walls when it rains. To be fair, Tacheny refuses to acknowledge their workmanship was in any way related to this issue even though Tachney workers removed and replaced flashing and shingles at the exact location of the leak. So, I guess I will be hiring someone to fix their work. Friendly reminder to people looking to hire a home improvement vendor, pursuant to Minnesota statute 327A.02, vendors are required to repair defects caused by their workmanship for 1 year. Attempts to contact Tacheny to resolve this issue have been unsuccessful.

We had substantial damage to our cedar siding from woodpeckers. Unfortunately, nothing can be done to the protected birds, so we sought out assitance from Tacheny. After a thourough wak through, they deteremined the James Hardy cement siding would be the best as the birds cannot penetrate the material. The process was seamless and our house looks amazing.

I have worked with Tacheny Exteriors twice, with the two jobs being done about 10 years apart, in houses in two different neighborhoods.
I have found them to be very fair and responsive, but most of all, they do good quality work. Carlos and crew were very thorough and Sam followed up regularly to ensure the quality was top notch.
I am especially appreciative of Nyky and Theresa in the office as they were instrumental in escalating any issues that surfaced, as well as keeping me informed of progress throughout the project.
I had roof, window, siding and gutter replacement work done and would highly recommend Tacheny Exteriors to anyone needing similar work.

After a large storm, I noticed a leak in one of the windows Tacheny had installed for me 3+ years ago. Paul came out and after reviewing the situation, was able to resolve the issue with some caulking. He also let me know that if the issue crops up again, he has additional measures he can take that are supported by the workmanship warranty provided to each customer. Great to have the peace of mind that Tacheny Exteriors stands behind their work long after it's completed !!
