Walker roofing replaced the roof and siding of both our home and garage. We are so pleased with the outcome. We were so happy with Corey Zarling the project manager, who was so patient and so kind and explained everything, answered all our questions and made sure that everything got taken care of. Also, Albano the foreman and his crew were excellent, professional, hard working and cleaned up everything when they were finished. I would recommend them heartily, and will call them again for any work needed in the future.

Walker roofing did a great job on our shingle and gutter replacement. They also removed two old skylights and two chimneys to cleanup the roof. All nails and shingles were removed from the grass and driveway. The final product looks great.

i love my roof & unattached garage roof & gutters on garage. I had a driveway put in 2 years ago & was concerned about the weight of trucks & shingles also i have flowers everywhere & not one was disturbed. Everything was cleaned up & vacuumed.

Do not use this company unless you have a very basic roof, and even then don't go with this company as they do not stand behind their work. Our roof was done sloppily with collateral damage to the dormers that caused a leak. They claim that there is nothing wrong with the roof itself and therefore they do not have responsibility for the leak, and because the leak only occurs with heavy storms with wind, the leak cannot be caused by the roof. However, this leak did not exist prior to their work on the roof. Basically stay away, they are not to be trusted to stand by their work.

We were recommended Walker Roofing Company by a friend and I'm so glad they gave us that referral. A previous company wanted to schedule the payment and work before doing their "free inspection". Not Walker Roofing Company.

Greg was courteous, knowledgeable, and very honest with the free assessment. He assessed our roof at being about 15 years into a 30 year roof. Told us that reshingling would be more expensive and would not be the exact same color as what's there due to aging so might look a bit unsightly, and recommended the just as efficient but cheaper option of using an industrial grade 10 year sealant to patch up the holes that he found. He showed us pictures so we felt good with the assessment. The quoted price was $490, which was very fair in our price comparisons.

When he came out for the work, he was quick and showed us the before and after pictures. Their online payment system was easy to use. All in all, this was a great experience and will continue on that recommendation to anyone who needs any roofing work.

OVERVIEW
Our 30-year shingles aged out at 23+ years due to several leaks which were caused by popping roofboard nails and heat degradation around the frequently used chimney. We were tired of patching the leaks. The original shingles were installed by a different roofer on a cold day in December due to a delayed remodeling schedule. Our roof had minimal hail damage, so the replacement decision was originated and driven by us, not someone looking to work an insurance claim.
My wife and I chose Walker Roofing because of the overall communication skills and attention to detail of the very experienced marketing representative, Greg Harste, and the decades of experience coming from Walker. On an apples-to-apples comparison, Walker was also the most price competitive. My father was a building contractor and I worked on a dozen roofing jobs with him in my younger days; however, my professional day job did not give me enough time to tackle such a large project. Given my background, I was pleased with what Walker offered.
WORKMANSHIP
We were extremely pleased with the workmanship applied to the job. The rows were straight, all modern code requirements were met, and the chimney work was a vast improvement over the outdated workmanship and materials from prior decades. The Walker crew applied extra effort to ensure that all loosening nails in the old roof boards were either removed or re-sunk. Amazingly, in one day they removed and nailed down about 4,000 square feet of shingles, subsurface protection, and edging while patching multiple roof holes from old vents and cutting one hole in for the vent stack for the future master bath fan exhaust.
CUSTOMER SUPPORT
Greg from Walker accommodated us by stopping by our house a couple times with shingle samples. He sized up the details of the job and captured our various requests while simultaneously providing us his professional input at the right time during our fact-finding mode and decision-making process.
PRICE
Walker Roofing was the most competitively priced roofer on an apples-to-apples basis. We received a half dozenl other quotes ranging from about $0-7k above Walker’s quote. The other bidders came from Angie’s List and referrals from our friends.
SHINGLE CHOICE
While we initially were going to install a metal roof to eliminate my needing to rake snow off the roof and to also improve the value of the home, we decided to rule that choice out for multiple reasons: install and repair cost, the roof outliving us, noise from a metal roof, snowslides, etc.
The Malarkey Legacy shingle chosen by us was the “natural wood” color and has a very nice near-shake look and goes very well with the home’s existing stone and paint colors. The shingle choice attributes include its thickness for hail damage resistance and the Scotchgard protection to reduce algae stains which the prior roof was plagued with. Once the new shingles were on, our insurance company dropped our annual premium by $1,700.
CONCLUSION
We are excited with our new roof and no longer have the stresses from regular roof leaks.

Cory at Walker Roofing fixed the water leak at my chimney. He was prompt and professional and provided excellent service. He also drew up a bid for repair/improvements to my rain gutters, downspouts, and extensions.

We had a great experience with Walker Roofing. We were anxious to get our roof on so we could move into our new home. They were able to do it so quickly in the beginning of March when the weather was warm enough. They gave us an excellent quote on the roof. Blaine was the salesman we worked with and he was very thorough in explaining all the components and made sure that the new skylight was properly installed.

Excellent service from consultation to installation. Cory was great in providing clear contract agreement, answering additional questions, bringing shingle samples. The installation crew was fast, courteous, skillful. Started at 8am, got done by 5pm, protected all the furniture and bushes outside and cleaned up thoroughly. 2nd roof we've done with Walker. 1st one 28 years ago. 8 unit rowhouse so more of a commercial roof with a lot to work around. They did an excellent job considering the rain delays, heat and age of the building with some brick issues to work around. Great working with Supervisors Todd, Dennis and Brian. Ian and his team were extremely helpful. I was having an awful experience w a different company that was a recommendation. I, thankfully, hadn't signed any contracts yet (even after 6ish months of communication) and was able to transition over to Walker Roofing after a very kind and knowledgeable sales person (Tom?/Tim?) knocked on my door on the perfect day - divine timing! On top of all of that, my insurance company was also horrible to deal with and drug out the entire process - Ian was always calm as a cucumber and, again, advocated and guided me through each and every scenario/curveball that was thrown at me. 1.5 years after I started my claim I can finally say that I have a new roof and shed!

scheduling installation was an absolute nightmare; the entire process from ordering to installing 8 windows took 4 months. But, having said that - we are really happy with the end result. We have 10 more to replace this summer and will definitely be coming back! I really enjoyed working with Ian, he is a good honest human being. The three contractors who came to wrap exterior window trim - wow, those guys are polite, hard working beasts. It was cold, and I couldn't even get them to take a break and come inside to warm up. Super company - fine attention to detail. After past experiences with the "Big box" company, i collected 2 mason jars filled with roofing nails around the house. I have yet to find a single nail after the Walker roofing folks left. They were in and out same day, and I waited a while before writing the review as I usually find something wrong so i have to adjust. In this case, i cannot find a single thing that isn't correct, and they even corrected a couple things that were left in a bad way by previous roofers. Namely the corner flashing, which they fixed the mistakes of previous roofers.
This company also offers a hail resistant shingle that our insurance company even lowered our rates because we had it installed. Also it is created partly from old car tires, so is even environmentally friendly.
The process was just as smooth as I've had, a quick meeting to have the roof inspected, and discussed expectations and such. Then they handled 95% of the insurance company talks. Easy to get ahold of and responded to emails very quickly. Not to mention just a real upbeat demeanor that was appreciated!

If i need work done in the future, this is the first place i would turn to. Highly recommended if you want the job done correctly and efficiently without having to watch over anything.

I hired Walker Roofing to reshingle and repair siding on my house in Maplewood mn And my mother's house in Oronoco mn in addition to my commercial 120x40 and 50x70 metal buildings n Oronoco after hail storms damaged them. Ian Goriesky worked with my insurance, got any and all under payment estimates increased and did all my buildings with exceptional quality materials with my only out of pocket being my insurance deductible! In the summer of 2024 we had our third hail damaged roof replaced ( in 8 years ). We should have had Walker for all three repairs.
Cory Zarling calmly and professionally guided us through the original inspection with our Farmers Insurance adjustor all the way thru to the final inspection. The work crew was on time, thorough, and finished in one day. Post job cleanup was very good as well.

I called Walker Roofing for 3 separate projects, several years apart. Gutter replacement; roof and facia on home; and a patch job on garage. Cory Z and company did all better than expected. I strongly recommend Walker Roofing!

The roofing job was done completely, looks great, and the color matches very well with the siding. Cory Zarling from Walker Roofing did a very professional job.

Walker Roofing was an excellent company to work with. Greg, the sales representative, was very professional and had a vast depth of knowledge and experience. I asked a lot of questions and Greg was patient to explain clearly what materials would be used and how the process would work. Everything went exactly how Greg described and there were no surprises.

The cost was significantly less (by $11k) than the highest bid, using the same materials. The materials were delivered ahead of time, however, the wrong color of roof vents were delivered, but they were correct on the order. Greg immediately went to the supplier and got them exchanged.

After a one-day rain delay, the work was started and completed the next day, on a Saturday. The workers were efficient through each phase and worked well as a team. Kudos to the crew supervisor for having great people who knew what they were doing.

I needed a complete tear off, full re-decking (house, attached garage and breezeway), new shingles, new vents and plumbing stacks, chimney flashing, new powder coated steel gutter screens (added on later, which was also completed with excellence), removed the decorative dutch hips (dormers), sprayed the wasp nests hiding in the dormers, and disposed of the satellite dish. A trailer was used as a dumpster instead of a big bulky container, no marks left on the driveway. All bushes, rocks, patios and driveway were well covered, clean up was nearly perfect as only a few nails were found afterward. Wouldn’t even know they were there, except for the fact that the new roof and gutter screens look fantastic!!! I would highly recommend working with Greg Harste and Walker Roofing.

Hail damage? - Walker Roofing Company was there. I am a neighborhood exercise walker. When Walker Roofing was finished I didn't need the garbage bag I carried to pick up any construction trash.

Walker Roofing did a great job. Fortunately we met one of the sales guys who was helping someone else in the area. He explained we could get better shingles for the same cost of regular shingles that a different company was going to charge thousands of dollars more. And Walker did not upset our hummingbird feeders like a previous roofer did, which is a big deal to me. And, our flowers were left almost 100% intact (99.99999%). Only I would have noticed a blossom knocked off because it has a unique bloom. Clean up after was nearly perfect. I would definitely choose Walker Roofing again. 5 stars!

This fabulous company re-roofed our house several years ago. They came out again a couple of years ago when neighbors had hail damage. Walker Roofing examined our roof and was one of two companies that gave HONEST opinion that our roof was fine (unlike a third company which was less than honest). When a big, old, storm-tossed branch punched a 6 inch hole in our roof, Walker Roofing Company were out within 2 days to provide a temporary repair and within a week to provide the permanent solution, which looks great. They are our go-to for roofing needs.

He always answered our calls and if he could not pick up would send an immediate text to say he would call right back! He inspected the work after we were done and explained details to us. We had hail damage on our roof and siding and we could not have picked a better company than Walker. The crew was great, even moved furniture for us, and there wasn’t a nail to be found at the end. We requested a different color on our roof and the one that was recommended was great. They also upgraded our siding to Hardie Board. It changed the whole look of the house. We love it.

1) The crew that showed up to do my roof on a 108 degree day, had no water with them. I supplied them with bottled water but thought how strange and why is this my responsibility. 2) Found out from my insurance company that I may be eligible for some discounts if the shingles are 3-4 impact resistant. Turns out they're not. Living in a state that has hail storms, it would have been nice if the Walker Roofing salesperson knew about this and sparked a dialogued around it. 3) They subcontracted the gutters.
No issues with roof so far, it's just disappointing that a company that's been around forever wouldn't educated customers on products that might garner certain discounts through insurance agencies. People don't know what they don't know.

We referred to Walker Roofing by our neighbors after the hail storm that hit all of Hudson in 2022. At first, they were great to work with. Zach came out within three days to meet our insurance and inspect damages and our roof was replaced quickly. Unfortunately, it went down hill quickly. We were also getting gutter and siding replaced but after our roof was done, all communications from Walker stopped. I emailed and called once a month for 7 months and to inquire about when the siding and gutters would be replaced. Not a single email or phone call was returned. In that time, three months after our roof was replaced, on a weekend, someone came and cut two sections of our siding. However, Walker never communicated with us that this was someone send by them or when we would hear next steps. After continuing to reach out monthly, someone finally returned our call and our gutters and siding we done, almost 1 year to the day after our initial contract with Walker was signed. They were However, incredibly quick in mailing us our bill three business days after they were done. Not the communication we hoped for, or expected from the company we were referred to and their mission.

more than 20 years ago, is still 10 plus. Walker recently replaced my roof as a result of the awful August 2023 hail storm that hit SW Minneapolis. One of Walker's associates, Greg H, on a Saturday, met with my insurance company estimator to survey and point out specific damage that might have been missed if Walker's knowledgeable specialist had not been present. Additionally, Walker's specialist made my insurance company aware of a recent city building code change that could impact their work once the old roof was removed. Bottomline, Walker's finished product, under the keen eye of Greg and his very hard working team, more than met my expectations...I can be a tough customer...I highly recommend them.

My relationship with Walker Roofing goes back many years as this is the second roof they have put on my home. This time a hailstorm necessitated replacing the roof, siding, and downspouts. In addition, I opted to change out the facia, soffit, and gutters, so I had a lot of questions. My salesman, Andy Reese, carefully explained EVERYTHING in the process and was always available to answer my many questions. Of particular note was his help in selecting roof and siding colors. I just couldn’t make up my mind, and he made excellent suggestions and showed great patience. I could not have done it without him.

LIT MY HOUSE ON FIRE!

Had some hail damage last year. After meeting with a bunch of storm chasers I hired Walker Roofing to do the roofing repairs for my home. I also had them replace some cedar siding with some fabricated panels, replace some loose deck rails, and also hired them to replace a utility door in my garage.

The roof crew was fantastic. Replaced the whole roof in a day, did a great job, though did leave a good number of nails in my rain gutters.

The siding crew was a whole other story. Apparently one of the contractors was using WD-40 on my house to chase away some hornets. Later one of the crew ended up electrocuting himself while installing some fascia above the garage. This was towards the end of the day and the crew was wrapping up and had planned to finish up the next day. The next morning I wake up, look out my kitchen window and see smoke blowing past. I go outside to check and yep, my garage is on fire. Apparently when the contractor electrocuted himself, that created a spark in the WD 40 coated area. That sat and smoldered all night long in the wall until it eventually burned through.

Fire department came out and put out the fire, and did a full investigation. We couldn't find anything damaged in our house electrical that was hit, so the fire chief thinks they may have had a lose extension cord or a tool not plugged in all the way that was up on their scaffolding and when they touched the house, they grounded, made a spark, and ended up starting the slow burn. So, me, my wife, and my 2 children were just sleeping in an on-fire house until we noticed the next day when it burned through.

Also, it's been almost 5 months since I initially hired them and I still don't have the garage utility door replaced.

Hiring walker roofing was probably one of the biggest mistakes of my life and I'm lucky to be alive. This project had weeks of delays, and could have killed my entire family had the fire burned through when we were sleeping.

I hired Walker Roofing for my house after the roof, siding, and gutters all got damaged after a bad hail storm. I had never filed a claim like this before so it was a new experience for me but they were there to walk me through it, also during the whole project to answer questions I may have had. I was very impressed with the communication, professionalism, but above all the quality of work they performed. My house looks brand new, and that's not easy for a 1900's house.. I highly recommend them, thank you Walker!

I'm still on this journey. So, this is an ongoing event. If I had to get a new roof again, I would not go with this company. Small mistakes becoming big problems without proper planning and preparation. Job was rushed. Very sloppy workmanship. Roof was done in July and I'm still trying to workout issues with collateral damage. Damage to deck and sofit. Overall, not very happy with the result. Multiple back and forth communication with various managers and the owner. They keep telling me they will take care of things, but I don't see anything getting done even after knowing what needs to be done. More delays after more delays. I'm still waiting to get things fixed which could take another year. It's been the most frustrating experience in a very long time with any contractor I've ever had to work with, and I've owned 10 homes in my lifetime in addition to 3 rentals that I currently own.

I have nothing but good things to say for the job that Walker Roofing. The project was completed in one day. The work was all high quality and the price was several thousand less than competitors bids. I would recommend for anyone looking for a roof to contact Walker.

I had some damage from a hail storm last year. My sister and brother in law used Walker for a new roof at their home. I wasn’t sure how any of this worked but Cory helped me out every step of the way. Contacting my insurance adjuster, and always keeping me informed. The roof looks fantastic! quoted me 2-300 to cut a hole in my roof for a new vent pipe. a roofer came, cut a hole in my roof in ninety minutes, then left without telling me he was leaving. i am used to paying contractors on the spot. several weeks later i received a bill for $500+ dollars, for four hours of labor. called several times and received the runaround about how "they were going to talk to management." this has yet to be resolved. look at your watch closely if you hire walker.

We've used Walker multiple times for our rental properties and have always been very happy with their work! They are honest about whether a roof needs to be repaired versus replaced. They are responsive, give competitive bids and complete the work in a reasonable amount of time.

To prevent ice dam buildup, two of your service men manually shoveled my roof, clearing it of a large amount of snow. They were timely and professional, working past dark to get it completely cleared off. They followed it up by shoveling my walks and deck. The service was very professional, and the cost was competitive. We had a leak, and they came out quickly to inspect the roof to find the issue. We had not realized that we had storm damage and they were very helpful in being available when we called our insurance company. We had used them previously to roof our main house and in both cases the team that replaced the roof performed the job within the timeline given and cleaned up around the house and removed all equipment quickly. They used materials that they will stand behind and being in business as long as they have their reputation shows dedication to their customers.

Excellent company! Excellent workers - ALL OF THEM. Worked extremely efficiently. Very conscientious. Always checking in with me to make sure everything ok and done to my satisfaction. Very polite always! Cleaned up afterward 100%.
I only wish other contractors were even close to being this good.

We had our commercial roof in Hudson, WI replaced after a large hail-storm damaged the roof. The project was a large multi-level roof that needed a complete tear-off. In addition, the building is newly landscaped around the whole perimeter. The company covered and protected everything and they were very thorough with the cleanup.
They had a large crew and completed the job quickly while allowing us to still service our customers. Thank you for a job well done!

I didn’t have work done by them, but my neighbors did. When they did my neighbor’s garage, right next to the shared fence, they let tons of roofing debris fall into my yard. Found a large number of roofing nails, strips of tarpaper and shingles, and other trash that they let fall over the fence. Asked one of the workers if they’d be cleaning up my yard too, but I just got a shrug and then they walked off, not helpful or professional at all.

I needed a roof inspection as part of a home inspection. I only had seven days to do it. I called Walker roofing; they assured me they could do it, and they would call me back to schedule the appointment. They called me back to confirm the address, then nothing. I called again; they assured me they would call back within the hour, they escalate it to their management. Nothing. If their work quality is as bad as their customer service…
Three days later, I called another roofing company. They inspected my roof within two days, I got the results in the afternoon, they got me as a customer.

I received a bid for a new residential roof on 4/12/2021 for $18,250. I signed the contract on 5/25/2021 with Greg Harste and gave him a check for the down payment. He called the next day and said that they had made a mistake on the price and it would now be $27,000. He sent my down payment back and I then contacted three major companies in the Twin Cities and they were all around $19,000. I’m happy with my new company and roof and now have them roofing my Corporate Office. Buyer beware of Walker Roofing. Not a professional company.
