I highly, highly recommend Summit Environmental Solutions! I’m in my mid seventies and was badly taken advantage of by the company I originally hired before finding Summit. The company I originally hired led me to believe I needed to do far more work than necessary. I own a 4100sf commercial building that had spot mold growth in the 3400sf crawlspace, spot mold growth in the basement and after a hard rain, water would penetrate into the basement where the concrete floor and cinder block walls join. My son usually helps me when I need to hire a contractor but he was travelling at the time so I was on my own. The mold issue was brought to my attention by the tenant at the time because one of his employees who was very sensitive to mold had to make a trip to the doctor. As you can imagine, this was a very concerning and stressful situation for me and given my lack of knowledge pertaining to mold and my mental state at the time, I was vulnerable to being taken advantage of. When my son returned from his travels he looked into the situation and thankfully it was shortly after the work commenced and not further into the project, as the original company I hired wanted to do costly demolition while not addressing the root causes of the building's problems. After my son assessed the situation, we halted the project and sought a 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th opinion. Three of these companies recommended similar solutions to address the building's issues, Summit being one of them. Comparing the companies' representatives that I delt with, Joe Westner from Summit was the most thorough during the site assessment and by far the most knowledgeable. I could write a one page raving review on Joe alone! Joe went above and beyond and that’s an understatement. He was very patient and thoroughly answered our questions and addressed our concerns, in person and over many phone conversations. He did a fantastic job managing my project from start to finish. It’s very rare these days to run across someone that's an expert in their line of work, truly cares and is honest. He is a true gem and Summit is lucky to have him! I had limited contact with Summit’s office personnel but the few times I did, they were very pleasant and accommodating. Summit was surprisingly punctual with their scheduling, commencing and completing the project by the dates they provided. The installation crews were very professional, experienced and their finished product certainly reflects that. The best part about the whole deal is I didn't have to pay a premium for the premium service and finished product I received. After getting the three estimates as close to apples to apples as possible with Joe, Summit's price was extremely competitive. 6 out of 5 stars

We have a wonderful experience with summit they responded to all of our answers concerns and requests they work hard to keep the cost down even when I asked to change some of the materials that they was going to use. It was on time and very professional I thank you very much for the excellent job that you have done.

We had Summit come out to encapsulate our crawl space. The quote, and work, were timely. Summit kept us informed throughout the entire process, and the crew finished early! Encapsulation looks nice, and meets our high expectations. Highly recommend!

The first day my house went on the market it was pouring rain. One of the first agents to show my house discovered a puddle of water in the basement. This started a full weekend of panic and anxiety. My real estate agent called Summit and had them come out Monday morning. Joe easily figured out the source of the leak (issues with siding and water entering where metal flashing was improperly installed) and had the leak repairs both exterior and interior detailed and written up by the afternoon. I feel like as a homeowner your worst nightmare is a water leak. This ended up not being a nightmare. Thank goodness, Summit took care of everything and at a cost that was way less than what I expected. The work was scheduled and finished before I closed on my house. A+ service all around. Highly recommend!

We are very pleased with work that Summit Environmental has provided to us and our 70 year old house. We found Joe and his team to be very responsive and thorough in the work that they have performed. Two years ago we had our crawl space encapsulated by Summit and it has made a big difference in the air quality and moisture issues we were experiencing. This year we had summit perform a structural repair to a major support beam under our house that had settled causing cracks in our interior walls and uneven floors and doors. Joe followed up with a thorough inspection after the work was performed to ensure that the results were to his satisfaction. We believe that Summit Environmental had both the expert knowledge and a sincere interest interest in our concerns and made every effort to investigate, analyze, and recommend the appropriate solutions .

The team at Summit did a great job with our crawlspace encapsulation. They explained the process, kept us informed throughout the installation.

Our church basement has leaked for over 60 years! We've performed a number of improvents such as porches and roofs over outdoor stairs, asphalt to the building, patios and made a lot of headway, but certain areas seemed impossible.
We called Joe Westner of Summit Solutions. His attention to detail led him to the exterior and he was seeing avenues for the intrusion of surface water that made so much sense. He was very thorough in explaining his remedy, and the estimate provided was very reasonable.
We approved the proposal and the work was done promptly.
Two days later we had several downpours, NO WATER!!!
I was there to see the workers,who by the way were very nice guys that treated the building with the respect you hope for. Everything they promised was done under the supervision of Joe Westner, and a bit more! If they saw something that needed attention, they did it. So far, so good. We know theres a possibility this could be overwhelmed with enough rain, and if more work is required, we're gonna call Summit!

Joe at Summit Waterproofing is a true professional!! We've been having some issues with our existing basement waterproofing system which was installed in March (by another company, not Summit), and Joe has provided us excellent consultation on how we should address the ongoing issues we've been facing. He's taken the time to consult with us on numerous occasions and provided tangible advice on the next steps we should be taking with the firm that performed the initial install. I really appreciate Summit taking the time to advise us, not because they are in search of our business, but because they truly wanted to help ensure we get our system in working order.

My husband and I highly recommend Summit Waterproofing!!! They possess all the qualities you could ever want in a contractor, a rare find for sure. Among other qualities that I'll elaborate on below, they are honest, punctual, patient, attentive, responsive, considerate, and professional.

Summit installed a Grate Drain system in our basement, a sump pump and battery backup, a larger drainbox for our basement entrance AND a backup threshold drain *, a drainbox in our yard for the sump discharge**, a radon port***, and removed a sump pump system and discharge line we would no longer need****.

I, the wife, was a little (ok, very!) nervous about this project considering the scope of everything involved and our unsatisfactory past experiences with contractors. Summit (Joe especially) answered the phone every time I called him and was patient, polite, reassuring, and thorough in answering all my detail-oriented questions and educating me about their solutions to our problems. To protect our investment, Joe even advised us on how to instruct our future basement-finishing contractors to insulate and install the walls on the waterproofed side (Thanks again for this, Joe!).

Did I mention that they are clean and considerate too? They protected our belongings from dust and removed the protective coverings and all their trash when they were finished with the project.

AND ALL OF THIS WAS PROVIDED AT A REASONABLE PRICE TOO!

If you can't already tell, we are thoroughly pleased with Summit waterproofing and SO glad to be done with this headache once and for all!!!

There are companies who simply provide a service and there are companies who SERVE their customers. Summit SERVES their customers!!

* Our previous drain box was too small and didn't let enough water through, so when we got lazy about removing leaves off it for the millionth time, water would sometimes creep under that door. Summit agreed to replace it with a larger drain box and offered to install a backup threshold drain to put my paranoid mind at ease (which I, the wife, will cover with a porous welcome mat so it's hidden from guests - you're welcome ladies).

**This was their thoughtful recommendation to avoid soil erosion which saves us from a future headache - thank you Summit!

*** A waterproofing competitor suggested we do this at the time of waterproofing in case we ever need to mitigate radon so we wouldn't have to bust up concrete to install it later on. We asked Summit if they could do the same and they added this to the project with no problem at all.

**** We had an unsightly discharge line in front of our house for this sump pump system they removed that I, the wife, was so happy to see gone (Hallelujah!). Although there was a slight misunderstanding about this being included in the project, Summit happily removed it and capped it off for no additional charge (another Hallelujah!).

I recently had my crawlspace encapsulated. Everyone that I worked with was extremely professional and knowledgeable about all aspects of the job. Would absolutely recommend them and use them for other projects. Joseph was especially easy to work with.

I learned about Summit Environmental (SES) from a question posted on FB in our local community. I reached out to SES for an estimate to encapsulate a vented crawlspace. The crawlspace produced musty odors in the living space above the crawlspace during humid months. SES evaluated the crawlspace, provided a detailed explanation of their proposed work, and identified a potential issue that required analysis by a structural engineer. The engineer's recommendations were incorporated into the proposed solution. The cost was reasonable. The work crews were professional and always cleaned up the space before they departed. I would recommend SES for crawlspace encapsulation.

We are first time home owners and are in the process of getting estimates for foundation repair and Joe with Summit came out to give us an estimate. Joe “could” have just repaired the cracks for us and we would have been none the wiser; however, he told us that unfortunately our foundation damage was beyond filling the cracks. With what could have been a 5 minute conversation, Joe stayed and talked to my husband and I about what we really need to have done and the reasons why (corner of house is sinking into soil and the garage wall is starting to detach). What impressed me the most about Joe, was that he recommended one of his competitors because they specialize in the type of drilling/restabilization that we need. We will also need to redirect the water from our rain gutters in the future, so I will definitely call Joe just because of how honest he was that he couldn’t help us, yet he still stayed a good 45 minutes to educate us on what we needed to do. That level of customer service is rare.

In late 2021, we were looking for professionals to repair our flooded basement and luckily we found “Summit” through Google search.
Joe came to our house and did a very detailed estimate. He checked every corner inside and outside of the house and provided us with all the possible solutions. Through his experienced analysis, we were able to understand how to take care of our basement. He was very patient during our first meeting and reassured me how they could help us. During the project, his crewmen were polite, on-time, and completed the work on schedule without any complaints. Whenever we had questions, Joe always responded within 24 hours to resolve the issue. This made us feel comfortable working with him. At the beginning we had different companies’ estimates for this project but Summits' offer and plan were the most reasonable to us. They did a great job and we got back a clean, dry, and non-smelly basement.

I could not be more pleased with Summit!! Joe was so helpful to me during a crisis situation where flooding had occurred in my basement. He helped me understand the insurance process and gave me helpful advice even when it was not certain his services would be needed. The company was prompt, flexible, and cleaned up so well after digging a new drain in my basement. Joe went above and beyond, responded immediately to my calls when I had questions and truly saved my sanity during a crisis with my home. Definitely recommend above anyone else!!

These guys completed a full encapsulation of my crawlspace recently and I could not have been happier with the work. The job was completed quickly and the quality of the work was great. Customer service was great too as they walked me through the whole project before hand and answered a few questions I had while they completed the job.

I was pleased with how the estimate went. It was a little higher than I would have preferred but he explained how they use high quality items so that I understand. Very professional and trustworthy. When it’s time for me to go ahead with the work I will be contacting this company

I had contacted Summit regarding some support piers in my crawl space that were improperly shimmed previously and required some leveling to bring the flooring back to its normal state. After contacting a few other companies who provided quotes that were completely unreasonable with high pressures to sign a contract that day, or didn’t even follow through with sending a quote.

Summit was quick to respond and sent out Joe Westner to provide an evaluation. After Joe reviewed the issues, he came up with a plan to get everything back to its normal state. Throughout the whole process Joe was in contact and he is guaranteed to make you laugh, not to mention the level of quality and pride that was taken by the repair team and Joe.

Even though Joe was here for this repair, he pointed out several issues with the crawl space encapsulation performed by another company that has allowed me to make improvements on it.

After a relatively painless raising and leveling, I only had some minor cracking (which is normal) and easy to repair.

All said and done, I am very happy to have found Summit for my crawl space repairs and highly recommend them to others who may be looking for any sort of crawl space or foundation work. Call these guys first before contacting the “big companies” as you will be impressed.

I had a cellar that would take in 4in of water every time we got a heavy rain. Looked into several quotes and decided to use Summit Waterproofing based on their pricing, expertise and attention to detail. They installed a waterproof barrier, French drain and sump pump and cleverly found a place to install the discharge pipe without having to rip up my porch boards. Staff is courteous and respectful of your home, they made sure my place was swept clean after each work day. Even checked on their work months later to make sure I had no lingering issues. Would highly recommend!

B: quality of work - there was an area where insulation was not 100% near entrance to crawl space, but they did get into some real tight areas and installed for as far as I could see

D: I had to remind them to spray for mildew, and they charged more for it
D: price, a lot of $$$ for only two days of work and no construction added to house, used off-brand (cheap) insulation

Edit: they failed miserably.... of the area they said they'd do, only 3/4 was done... AFAIC they should be refunding me $2000

These guys did great work. I spoke to four different highly rated crawl space businesses and I decided on Summit. They listened to my concerns and worked with me to find a solution to address it. I had them remove and old and poorly installed sump pump and put in a new one. What sold me on them was they were incredibly knowledgeable about every part of the process and could expertly explain every step. From the water cooled pump, to the size of the pipes they would use to the best place to discharge the water they expertly explained everything.
I highly recommend anyone looking for quotes to do work on there crawl space to add Summit to your list.

I contacted Summit Environmental Solutions on behalf of my 95-year-old mother. I discovered that her sump pump was not working in her crawlspace. When Joe showed up from Summit, he was unable to go down there because it was full of water. After days of pumping out the water, he later went down and discovered a lot of debris, potential problems with the foundation, and a very unlevel crawlspace. It was determined that the crawlspace would have to be encapsulated to include installing a moisture barrier, a new sump pump and a dehumidifier. His company workers filled an entire truck with debris from the crawlspace and tons of dirt was brought in from the front driveway to the side of the house through a small gate and to the back. A new entry space was enlarged with an angled door to keep water from pouring down there and another door leading into the crawlspace. Joe was phenomenal to work with. He always answered my calls and questions and helped in any way he could to make the old house safe for my mother again. The Summit employees worked extremely hard to make the crawlspace safe once again. I highly recommend this company and would not hesitate to use their services in the future.

Summit installed a partial French drain in a room in my house that was always damp, wet, musty, and regularly had a slick of water in one corner. I was at my wit's end because I could see the previous owner had already tried a French drain. Summit came out, told me right away they could almost certainly fix the problem, and carefully explained what they would do and how it would improve the situation. I could tell the person who did the estimate knew what he was talking about, so I gave it a shot. The crew worked through terrible conditions - rain and cold - and kept on schedule. The quality and thoroughness of the work has far exceeded my expectations. I honestly didn't think they would solve the problem entirely, but here we are with a completely dry room. No musty smell, no water slicks, no damp and moldy conditions. Price was reasonable and bottom line, Summit fixed the problem. I can't recommend Summit enough and will use them again on other projects. 5 stars.
