I’m just a do-it-yourselfer who wanted to re-roof my house on my own. Big box stores have products, but the choices seemed limited and the employees tended to know very little about what they were selling, let alone what I was looking for.
Stoneway (Kent) had an enormous selection of types, brands, colors, and all the accessories that go into roofing.
Clearly this is where the pros go; big trucks are going in and out by the warehouse filling huge orders, but don’t be intimidated if you are just a residential customer like me.
The guys in the office couldn’t have been nicer. They helped me find various types & colors of the solar-reflective shingles I couldn’t find in hardware outlets. They had the matching custom cap shingles, as well as the specific starters, underlayment, rainguard and venting I needed.
They also clued me in about technical issues that tend to come up with DIY roof jobs. If I got stuck, they answered my questions.
And the big surprise is that they weren’t more expensive than the box stores. I was willing to pay premium for the added knowhow & getting the hard-to-find shingles I was looking for, but I never had to.
Getting refunded for my unused product was also not a problem.
What else can I say? I was expecting to get the cold shoulder; instead they were courteous, cool and professional.
The incredibly dishonest crew that delivered my roofing material damaged the gutter on our house and simply left without saying a word. The crew took photos of the house prior to beginning delivery and it showed zero damage to the gutter. The next day our roofing crew took photos of the damaged gutter and I was made aware of the damage. I emailed Stoneway requesting the photos their crew took of my property before and after delivery and I have not heard from them to date. Our roofing contractor even called them and told them I would be contacting them and Stoneway indicated to him that they would call me. The have not done this yet.
After I was made aware of the damage I reviewed our security camera footage and sure enough they damaged the gutter.
Lack of concern for their crews antics in damaging property speaks loudly of this company's character and customer service.
Steer clear of this company unless you want to risk damage to your property.
Fantastic from start to finish. Sales was incredibly knowledgeable, helped pick right materials for the job. Delivery crew could not do roof top delivery because of electrical wires being in way. Safety first. I am ok with that. Prices were extremely fair. Quality of materials very good. Looking forward to using them again.
