Jim and his team did a fantastic job on our roof project. Love the website content that helps educate the consumer on the entire process. The sales team that methodically inspected and identified all necessary work needed. The roofing team that did the replacement work and their attention to detail. If there were any issues, they addressed it right away. During the final walk through with the Project Manager they made sure you were happy with the results.

Our exerperience was very good with Roof Smart right form the begining to the completion of our roof. Pedro and his crew work so hard though some very hot days. Our neighbor who watched them said how very meticulousl they were. We would give Roof Smart a good reference.

I recently had RoofSmart replace the cedar shake roof on my house with a metal standing seam roof. I think they did a great job and will be using them again. (I have a small "bump out" section on my house that I plan to remodel and will have them back out for that as well)
For my house and this project, it wasn't a simple "take off the old roof and install a new roof in it's place" kind of job... there was a portion of the roof which was raised due to added insulation being installed (polyiso sheets), and another area that had a design and structural change, and during the preliminary talks Jim (one of the owners) came out and suggested a few things in the design.
In addition to getting the roof replaced, other work performed included the installation of a solar tube, a skylight, around 4 inches (thick) of polyiso sheets of insulation over a cathedral ceiling (resulting in raising the roof), bird blocks, venting, and gutters. Due to the raising of the roof in an area near the chimney, they coordinated with the fireplace and chimney company that originally built the chimney, and the communication and coordination was great.
In addition, the "ends" of the roof have a few architectural details (eg not 90-degree corners) and the work that Pedro (the project lead) and his crew did was great.
One issue that was caught at the end of the project was that the (galvanized) metal roof had several scratches in some areas when it was installed. Omar (the project manager) caught these issues and came back and patched up the areas with spray paint from the manufacturer. I'm cautiously optimistic about this - I'm hoping for the best and will inspect the areas each year, but also leery that rust might form over time.
Tip: if you decide to go with a standing seam roof, ask the salesperson for a sample of the product in the color you are interested in. The color I chose was "charcoal", and when viewed directly in front (perpendicular) it matches the brochure. However, when viewed at an angle (like what's on a pitched roof), the light from the sky affects the color, and the "charcoal" color looks more like a very light gray. I'd like to point out that this is not the fault of RoofSmart and has nothing to do with them... it's just "is what it is" and while I'm OK with the color, I would have preferred a more darker gray. So my suggestion to anyone getting a metal roof installed, ask the salesperson (regardless of the roofing company, and regardless of the manufacturer of the roofing material) for a sample in the color you want, and view it in daylight at an angle.

The average roof replacement cost for a residential home typically ranges from $7,000 to $15,000, depending on factors such as roof size, chosen materials, roof pitch, and labor rates in your area. Premium materials or complex designs may increase the price.
The cost to replace the roof of a commercial building typically ranges from $5 to $12 per square foot, depending on several factors such as roof size, material, labor rates, building type, and local code requirements.
Several factors influence roof repair cost, including the extent of the damage, roof accessibility, material type, labor costs, and whether it’s a general repair or an emergency fix. Minor repairs can start around $150–$400, while major repairs may exceed $1,500.
Roof leak repair cost generally ranges from $300 to $800, depending on the size and location of the leak, the materials required, and labor intensity. Complex leaks involving structural repairs or interior damage will cost more.
Flat roof repair cost for commercial properties usually ranges from $500 to $3,000, depending on the roofing material (TPO, EPDM, PVC), the extent of the damage, and roof accessibility.
Mobile home roof replacement cost typically ranges from $3,000 to $8,000, making it generally more affordable than traditional home roof replacements, due to smaller size and simpler structure.
It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.
The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.
To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.
Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.
When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.
Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
