I can’t say enough good things about Andrew and Spaces LLC. After dealing with three other contractors who never bothered to return our calls, finding Andrew and his team was a huge relief.
From the start, Andrew was incredibly responsive. We were struggling with an insurance claim, and while other companies didn’t respond to us, Andrew was responsive from the get go. He provided clear, straightforward estimates that were very easy to understand, and the terms and conditions of the fine print were also clearly laid out. We did have some questions about costs because we had seen relative estimates online, but Andrew took the time to explain his pricing and the scope of work in detail such as his guarantees for the quality of the work. He was also meticulous in his initial walkthroughs and he and the project managers took samples and did a very thorough inspection. Andrew made sure we understood why certain items were estimated the way they were, which gave us confidence in the process.

We really appreciated how he communicated throughout the entire job—he didn’t just send us an estimate and disappear. Andrew was actively involved, making sure we understood what was happening and fighting for the right amount of work to get our home back to where it should be. We learnt a lot about the insurance industry and the level of note taking and Andrew’s ability to navigate the insurance world was a life saver.

A big part of what impressed us was the punch-list process Spaces uses. Once the main work was done, Andrew walked through the house with us to inspect the final details. He pointed out a few areas that needed some additional attention and made sure the issues were resolved quickly and without any fuss. This attention to detail was one of the things that really stuck out to us.

Ammon and Oleg, the guys doing the hands-on work, were great as well. They were respectful, listened to our feedback, and took care of the work with professionalism. They made sure to leave the house in good shape and were considerate of our family during the process.

Throughout the whole job, Andrew stayed on top of things, checking in with us regularly to make sure we were happy with the progress. It felt good knowing he was always there to address any concerns. In fact, we were so happy with their work that we’ve already called them back for two other projects around the house. That really speaks volumes about the quality of their work and our trust in them.

Overall, we’re really glad we found Spaces. They made what could have been a stressful situation much smoother, and we’re grateful for their professionalism and attention to detail. The owner doesn’t train its employees, it pays female project managers significantly less than the male counterparts. They harass homeowners and demand payments above and beyond insurance claim approvals for items they didn’t even complete (charging for replacing an entire floor when the reuse flooring on site) and commit insurance fraud and expect homeowners to come out of pocket for the difference. The owner will demand micromanaging to the highest degree by making you sit down in the morning and break out your work day down to the minute of what you’re working on and then tell you how much time things should take (even when you tell them it will take longer). The office manager sits in every meeting and has to be a part of every conversation even when it’s personal. She also expected rides without even asking permission (I was late picking my own kids up once because she told the owner I would provide her transportation after work). And they denied compensating for gas driving my own vehicle 300+ miles a week for the company. They also refused to reimburse me for personal expenses I paid on projects and kept the products for themselves. It’s the little things that make a company have poor management and oversight and this is definitely one to avoid working for or getting work done by.

Spaces LLC recently cleaned the carpets in our Glastonbury office and did a wonderful job! They were thorough, professional, and followed up afterwards to make sure we were pleased with the job. I would recommend them to anyone!

Great service, professionalism and support for the rebuild work! I did not get such help from a previous contractor who did not walk through the estimate and did not answer insurance questions which left the job half done. However, when I hired Spaces LLC, Andrew and his crew quickly reworked the estimate, walked through the estimate in detail, answered and coordinated with the insurance questions, town inspections and provided appropriate documentation. Not only we restored the damages, they helped with the entire rebuild and claim process.

We found the crew who came to our house to do repairs was very professional. They performed a quality job. The work was done in a timely manner and we were always kept in the loop about their progress and the status of their next steps. Overall we are very happy with the experience and outcome.

I have been looking for a company like this for years. Eight years ago, my house was stripped down to the studs and rebuilt by a company who I would never recommend. Now as things start to fall apart, I have been looking for another company to come in and fix their work. Andrew and his company Spaces LLC have been outstanding to work with. Not only are the professional and quick to respond, but they're also very reasonably priced. These guys can do it all and it's nice to have one company to go to who can do exactly what you are looking for and do it right. They also have the customers best interest in mind. If something can be fixed without having to buy something new, they will let you know that or tell you a piece can be returned (if already purchased), so they can save you the money. I will always use this company when needed.

Joe did a fabulous job repairing and reinstalling my ancient, no longer available shower door. He came within a few days of my plea for help, knew immediately what had to be done, completed the repairs, left no mess and was gone within a few hours. In this day and age it’s no small miracle to find such all around quality..

Andrew has done 2 jobs for us that were great. Last month he did a complete remolded of our main bathrooms and a new floor in our kitchen. His price was very good, but the service was even better. Job was completed in a very timely fashion which was critical for our business. Today he replaced a toilet in another bathroom that broke yesterday....what service!

On Dec 14th we had a mechanical failure of our furnace resulting in flooding of our finished basement. It was discovered about noon, furnace company was out for repairs by 3:30 and upon completion at 5:30, gave us the name of SpacesLLC for water removal and repairs. We called at 5:30pm and reached the owner Andrew Stoddard, he called us back within 15minutes to say he had a crew on their way over. They worked for 4-5 hours and set up to dry out the basement which took 3/4 days. Each day the owner called us to update what was to be done and answered any questions we had. Ended up needing to replace the flooring and trim, remove damaged dry wall and replacing it, and painting . The on site manager ,JB, was also terrific and the different crews worked so well together. They treated us with the utmost respect and made the whole process go smoothly. We would highly recommend SPACES LLC for others

Spaces LLC did a great job on our recent deck project. I selected them even though they were not the lowest estimate I received. They seemed to be a substantial company with a full time crew and good organizational skill. I would certainly use them again and recommend them to anyone. I used spaces for an urgent repair in my deck. The team was very responsive to my requests and got someone out for an estimate the next day. Pricing was fair, the work was exceptional, and the communication from them made me certain the job was going to be done well and when I needed it.

I just saw that Spaces LLC responded to my review, claiming that I lied about what they did to remedy the trim job. They did not put quarter round on my trim, despite my asking them to do so as a potential compromise so that they would not have to rip it out and put the correct size. I’ve uploaded two photos so you can see what I’m talking about: the flooring was originally spaced so that the correct width would easily cover the “breathing room” (we are a high humidity house). You can see that no quarter round was installed. In the photo, you can see just how big a difference the trim is by how far our steam heater sticks out. When I pointed out that it was no longer flush, Drew told me to “paint the damn thing”. I will allow you to draw your own conclusions about this company based on my original review, their egregious response, and my photos that proved they lied in said response.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I waited five months before posting my review, to let my personal feelings subside and just share facts.

The good: The daily contractor who handled our project, Doug, was phenomenal. We loved his work, his ability to explain things to us when we had questions, and we felt very comfortable having him in our home nearly daily for the three week project.

The bad: Drew, the project manager, was in over his head. Communication was inconsistent and often contradictory - we would flesh out an idea over the phone (such as having a shower head installed that could be removed for washing the dog) and he was unable to accurately convey that message to his team in order to appropriately execute the line item. This happened several times, and each time he denied any wrongdoing.

The ugly: Drew’s desire to rush the project cost us thousands of dollars and a mess to clean up. He was unable to work with us, the clients, in order to ensure a smooth process. For example, we have an older home (1930s) with wider baseboards than current industry standard. We wanted the same style baseboards installed for continuity - he instead ordered and had his guys install much smaller baseboards that then required us to install quarter rounds to cover the gaps in flooring. Another example: Drew ordered and charged us for a toilet which was $2,000 more expensive because it would arrive faster (next day) than waiting for the more economical company (which would take 3-6 weeks). We had stayed from the beginning that our budget was most important to us, and we were perfectly fine waiting additional time for parts to come in (we have more than one bathroom in the home).

Two stars because Doug was a rockstar and a true craftsman. I would independently hire him in a second and recommend him to absolutely anyone. On the other hand, Drew and his company, Spaces LLC? I would steer clear.

I used spaces for wallpaper removal services and they did an amazing job. They removed the wallpaper, patched up and prepped my walls to be paint ready. I'd definitely use them again and highly recommend!

A delivery person hadn’t latched the door and a nor’easter blew it open damaging the storm door and door frame. Both doors had to be replaced. They did a really good job removing the damaged doors and installing new ones.

Doug the plumber was very personal and professional while completing the installation of my upstairs bathroom faucet and vanity. I would hire again for additional work!

I found wise handyman services on Facebook and I'm so glad I went with this company! They where so professional and very precise in n accommodating me with getting the work that I wanted done exactly the way I wanted it. I will highly recommend them t ok all of my family and friends. I had a bathroom shower with a hole in it. Staff were friendly and professional and fixed my problem. Very hard to find a contractor and this company calls you back. Now just need a shower rod and I'll be all set. My fault on the rod, not Spaces, LLC. I've already scheduled more future projects. Flooring next week. They did a nice job and the clean-up was good too. Thanks Spaces.

Update: I love my new shower and can't wait to use it. I was able to install my shower rod and it is perfect. Shower looks so good makes me want to update entire house. Surely I will use Spaces again. Highly recommend them. In fact I already recommended them to two people already. Very nice company who does a great job. And the clean-up service afterwards was an added bonus.

This is my second time using this company for my home repairs. I had a leak in the upstairs shower which leaked on to the downstairs ceiling above my dining room table. This was a real mess. I called Spaces and they were there the next day to check the damage and quote me a price, the job was booked and they were there the next day on time, the workers are very clean and I have never come home to a mess. This companys work is always impeccable. Also, the owner checks in with you daily with updates on their progress. This company is truly amazing.

SPACES hits all the right notes with respect to professionalism - quick quotes, quick followup, job well done, etc- but what we most valued was their ability to THINK with us ... to help us figure out what, exactly, we wanted done ... to come up with creative SOLUTIONS to hard-to-remedy problems.

I have not used this business yet. I am waiting to find out what is going to happen with my insurance/lawsuit but this was the first company to call me when I requested an estimate and very friendly.

I hired Spaces LLC to help mount my security camera related solar connectivity. The team is extremely experienced, patient, and friendly. They provided their expertise while helping me determine the best placement for the cameras. I had to be at work, so the team patiently worked with me via text and continued to adjust the camera until it was to my satisfaction.

I would definitely recommend working with this company. The technician along with office team were polite, responsive, and extremely helpful.

I had a window that needed to be replaced and after a previous job that went well I contacted Spaces again. They were fast in providing an estimate, communicated well, and got the job done faster than I anticipated without cutting any corners. Excellent, as usual.

Gus and Andrew were very responsive from the beginning-very helpful given the extensive job to be done. They kept me informed throughout the process. The work performed by their staff was amazing. Doug/Mike/Edwin/Andre/Billy- great work! There were a few accidents with some belongings, but Gus handled it swiftly. One comment I would make is to only have one point person (Gus) for communication. I would speak to Andrew and he would say something was getting done and then when I asked Gus about it, he didn’t know anything about it. I’m sure it’s because they were so busy. Overall, I would hire them again! Thank you for making my house whole again!

We had Spaces in to get rid of mold on our bathroom ceiling and we were very impressed with them! The teams were very friendly and professional, as well as prompt and did a fantastic job. Our bathroom looks better than new and we would recommend this company in a heartbeat!

Spaces re-did our bathroom and put down new tile flooring in our mudroom. Overall, they were very communicative during the entire process. We ended up asking for some changes and additional tweaks during the renovation and they were happy to oblige. They were super friendly and eager to make sure we were happy.

The only thing to watch out for is the quality of the work. Overall the work was good, but some of the tile in the mudroom wasn't level. However, when we pointed this out to them, they removed the tile and fixed it. There still were some that were a bit uneven, but overall it was much better and acceptable.

Extremely happy with the service and outcome of the project performed by Spaces, LLC. Andrew was very responsive and was able to accommodate my project within the same week. The on site team was professional, punctual, thorough and did an immaculate job repairing my wall. They even went out of their way to correctly repair an exposed pipe prior to sealing the wall, that the plumber i hired previously did not repair correctly. Total professionals and will absolutely hire again for upcoming projects.

JB came by and helped me to put on my screen door which the wind blew off, the same day I called, he did it just mins. He also fixed the clicking sound it was making b4. Very professional trustworthy. SPACES is definitely reliable.

Spaces LLC is, most definitely, a five star operation. The principal of the company worked with me to accommodate my schedule; and JB, the gentleman who came to remove some kitchen floor tile (to provide for the removal of an old dishwasher) was able to extract the old machine without having to remove any floor tile. JB took the initiative, and was able to accomplish my goal as a homeowner, without any removal of tiles or damage to the floor. I recommend this company without hesitation!

Overall Spaces did a good job with my basement finishing project. The quality of materials and workmanship is the best I have seen, they used kiln dried douglas fir for all framing so all the walls will stay straight over time. Further, Mark has definitely gone above and beyond with the work that he did on the framing, he was able to build square walls when the floor and concrete were not square. Further he was able to accommodate some minor changes during the building process to ensure that the end product looked the best. He is very punctual and kept the job site clean while doing his work. I can't speak highly enough about the work that Mark has done and look forward to working with him in the future.

My only issue was with the quoting system, I seemed to have a disconnect between what I said I wanted during the initial visit and what ended up getting quoted. Spaces was very good at updating the paperwork once I alerted them to the issues. As long as you are clear on the scope of work it should be fine.

I was doing a kitchen remodel and when an old cabinet was removed we found mold and water damage coming in from my roof. Spaces helped find the source of the problem and fix my wall and celling. Their professional Ray was Amazing, he did such a great job and cut out the old drywall, mitigated the mold and moisture and blended the new work with my existing popcorn texture, it's like it was never there. I just have to paint everything to match. I have to commend all the Professionals Andrew, Eric the foreman and especially the Hero of the hour Ray who did an excellent Job!!

Through his experience and expertise Andrew expedited a too often slow insurance claim process. His team's supplemental claim was made after the adjuster came to the house. That claim insured that the job was properly funded. There is a reason why him and his firm are such trusted names in the restoration industry; they are very good, very effective, and put customers (not insurance companies) first. I have been pleased and happy to work work with Spaces LLC. They get the work done in the time that they say and they are not pushy about my input. They make suggestions and leave the final input from me without any fuss. I've gotten to know Ryan and Eric quite well, and Andrew and Gus somewhat less. But I will say Andrew and Gus makes the entire process efficient and simple, as it should be. After the first project I had them take on a few more things I need to have done. I liked that they were a one stop shop for all things inside and outside considering the terrible rain we have had in recent times.

An organized and efficient company! After a kitchen fire over the weekend, I needed a remediation company fast to deal with the smoke odor and soot. I called Andrew on a Saturday evening and he spent time with me over the phone explaining what the process would entail. We continued our correspondence through email and despite Andrew being on vacation, he still replied to each and every question I had, and provided me with estimates of the work. The service was timely and efficient, completing the process within 2 days, and they worked with my schedule to make this as convenient as possible for me. Francesca called me throughout the process with updates, Luis texted when finished, and when I arrived home today I was very impressed with the space: no smoke odor, and ever surface was super clean in every room. I was very pleased with the quote. It was just about the same as the other company. I chose Spaces because I have seen their work on a large project at my Church , First Congregational Church of East Hartford. I also was able to talk to the person in charge of the church's project. She gave Spaces a great review. I liked the all the different men who came in to do the different jobs. I had sheet rock skimmed, walls and ceilings painted. Furniture had to be moved . They treated my furniture like it was theirs. A crew came in to move all the furniture back and clean up all of the dust , remove all the plastic and floor covering that was used to protect my property. I will hire them for several more projects I have in mind.

9/3/21 Basement was flooded overnight from storm. Through Home Advisor, I contacted Spaces LLC, and received a call back immediately from the owner. His crew members Sokol, Dan & Gus were very polite and professional and did a great job. Their expertise & rapid response saved us from costly repair and replacement expenses. We are very grateful, and recommend this company.

We chose Spaces LLC for our renovation project based on the high rate of reviews and that was the best decision. Andrew and his crew are a team of professionals who know their job very well and can get your project done right. We were going to update the kitchen and bathrooms, fix some structural issues, do lots of electrical works, and paint the whole interior. Andrew was excellent at listening to our needs, explaining different options, and letting us choose the services we wanted. He was very prompt in communications, very flexible, easy to work with, and made this a smooth process for us. There were some difficulties, of course, but the crew was always there to give useful recommendations and solutions. If something was not done to our satisfaction, they were open to rework and ensure that we are happy with the result. They also did a good job cleaning up at the end. We had a great experience and highly recommend this company to anyone.

Used Spaces for some basement mitigation following some historic rainfall in early July 2021. Drew and his crew were fantastic to work with during a stressful time. Spaces has been an absolute pleasure to work with so far. They reached out very quickly when I had a ceiling leak and have been so helpful in working with my insurance company to resolve the issue. They have not yet fixed it because of delays by the insurance company, but immediately came out to tarp the roof and to work with the adjuster. They are very responsive and friendly!

Gerardo arrived and immediately started his task. It took quite awhile as the crack was very high. When he completed his work he did a good job of cleaning up the work area as dust was everywhere. He only took a break when he had to wait for the leveling material to set. I would recommend him and Spaces LLC to anyone in need of this repair.

My wife and I have been using Spaces for the past few years. It started with an almost complete home remodel and we could not have been happier with the entire process. As time went on we called the Spaces team for smaller repairs and additions. Most recently we discovered a leak with a shut off valve. We made a call and the issue was addressed the next day. Spaces always goes above and beyond to fix the problem and any issues that may arise down the road. They also do it in the most cost effective way possible.

Drew the owner was great to work with including his team at their office. They were very flexible with us as things changed or new things came up during our project. This was all alongside us doing a lot of work ourselves on the house which made a lot of dust and overall just mess. The cleaning team under Vanessa did such an amazing job the attached picture doesn't do it justice. As we get ready to move into our house we don't even want to step on the floors as they look brand new!

We found a plumber that was not only professional but friendly. He did good clean work and the prices were fair and reasonable. I will be recommending Spaces LLC in the future.

We needed a small bathroom updated with minor plumbing moved. Spaces LLC was literally 1/2 the cost of two other companies we quoted. They were very responsive and had little in person contact (a good thing these days). They hauled away items from my separate DIY project. They were punctual and didn't leave until the job for that day was done. They found & fixed some utility code errors made by original house builders. We'd absolutely hire them again in a heartbeat!

This was my first project with Spaces LLC and I will use this company in the future. What I appreciate about any contractor is how they communicate with their customers; I got that from Andrew, the owner. FIVE STARS!!! I needed queen mattresses juggled around different rooms and an adjustable queen installed. J.B. and Sokol from Spaces LLC arrived promptly, and knew exactly what to do to install it. I had phoned several "handymen" who could get around to my job in a couple weeks. But Drew, the manager of Spaces, got me into their schedule the next day! I will call on them for work I'll need doing in the future, and I highly recommend the company to you.

1st job - hired Spaces to patch 2 holes in bedroom drywall. They did good work

2nd job - hired Spaces to install a new bathroom vanity, they left job unfinished. Was under the impression they would complete the vanity job as I planned to hire them to do other work in my bathroom. Drew purposely stopped returning my calls & answering my text messages. Very unprofessional and dishonest. Do not recommend

They showed up on time each day and worked quickly and efficiently to repair the roof on an external structure on our property.

Spaces’ manager, Drew, is emotionally intelligent, an excellent listener, very knowledgeable and detail-oriented, very prompt, ethical and reliable. When his employee made one minor mistake, Drew followed up immediately and had the matter corrected within a couple of hours, ensuring my satisfaction. Spaces’ pricing was reasonable and flexible. Even when I changed the original scope of my job to one much smaller, I received just as much attention, respect and good service. Spaces did refer me to one other service provider to address an area outside its area of focus, and I did not find them as high quality as Spaces, but in fairness, they are an independent company, not under Spaces’ control.
