Our expectations were exceeded by this company! Their prices were very reasonable for all the work we had done and they were so professional. We saw they functioned as a great team, mindful of safety and minimizing damage as they removed some dangerous trees and limbs from our heavily wooded property. They sent their truck back to haul off the debris and even took a huge pile our neighbors added to ours the next day! Talk about leaving a place better than they found it! I wish I could give them 10 stars. Highly recommend ❤️

Very bad experience and customer service. Was quoted for tree removal and was told we were waiting for an arborist report. We then proceed to wait three months for them to finally do it. We called multiple times over this span and were always meet with “we will look in to it and get back to you” needless to say nobody got back to us and we have to continued to reach out. Should have been the red flag to use a different company. When they finally did come to remove the tree they did not tell us they were coming and neither myself or my wife were home. I arrived to a cut down tree with branches covering my whole sidewalk. We were also not told that pick up of debris was a separate company that would come out after the cut. I called and was told they would come out the next day, they did not and we called again and they seemed to have no clue someone needed to come out. When they did finally pick up the mess our sidewalk was a complete mess with scrapes and scratches from where they pulled the branches across. After calling and telling the situation we were met with no understanding or help to fix what they have caused and were told we have to fix it ourselves and pay full price. We now have to hire a different company to come out and clean up their mess. Do yourself a favor and use any other company in the world.

Chloe was on time to give estimate and within sent me the estimate in writing. 5 times I had to call her after she failed to communicate with me. When she would finally respond excuses of business issues, personal issues and company meetings caused poor response. Eventually got another company ion one day to remove tree. Poor customer service.

This tree service is exceptional. They were on time, reliable, efficient and did exactly what we needed to take care of removing some large trees safely, one of which was right next to a power line. They removed all of the debris in a timely manner, as well. We are grateful especially for the diligence and professionalism of Christian, Travis and Brian for coordinating and supervising the entire project. We strongly recommend them and would gladly use them again for future work.

A professional team. Chloe the coordinator was professional and very knowledgeable. We needed some pine limbs removed over our pool cage and they got it all done in less than 2 hours.
Cleanup set by curb for their big grabber to collect. They take the limbs and Mulch them down for reuse. I highly recommend them.

From start to finish, I was impressed with the service of Southern Trees. Justin was knowledgeable, quoted fairly, did not try to oversell the job. He assured me his team was kind, courteous and professional. I requested proof of insurance and license which was provided promptly. They showed up on time and worked consistently as a team to wrap up the job in a single day. They used safe practices and worked efficiently. Communication was great and his staff was awesome. They sent their new truck out a week later to pick up the huge debris pile and the guy left my yard and street clean, even taking time to blow off the sidewalks and driveways of each neighbor on either side to ensure nothing was left behind. Great job, highly recommend. I've already sent them a few new customers and everyone reports the same. Stop shopping and just hire them!

Beware of Southern Turf Inc. – Unauthorized Tree Removal & Negligence
Southern Turf Inc. completely removed two healthy trees from my property—without my permission—after assuring me they would only trim branches at the property line. They also damaged my landscaping in the process.
Beyond the destruction of valuable, mature trees (one with deep sentimental value), their lack of due diligence is concerning. If your property is governed by a homeowners association or requires more than a basic understanding of property lines, use extreme caution when hiring them. Even if they had been authorized—which they were not—tree removal requires HOA approval.
Their unprofessionalism caused property damage and emotional distress. I strongly do not recommend this company unless they drastically improve their accountability and respect for the property adjacent to their clients.

What a great group of men and hard workers. They made quick work out of a very difficult job. Everybody was extremely polite. They took care and concern with drain fields and septic tanks. Highly recommend and will use them again. I’ve ever needed. 10 stars to Travis J and Crew !!!!

I hired Southern Turf in mid-January of 2025. I decided to use them because the estimator said he was trying to keep his crew busy because work was slow. The scope of the project was to trim numerous trees. The work was done well except for the main tree. They trimmed a lot more than we discussed. They said it was necessary, but the aesthetic was heartbreaking. I should have been home. My wife was heartbroken and called the office, but they never got back to us. They said the debris would be removed in two to three business days but after five, I paid someone else to remove it. I was concerned the grass would be damaged. I was told I would receive proof of insurance which I did not. They did not keep the agreement. I do not recommend them.

Just had a cluster of trees removed. Justin and the crew did a great job. It was a sight to watch, how the team had a routine down packed. From start to finish. Price was right and the team cleaned up right away.

The Southern Turf staff were friendly and very efficient. They took care to ensure that none of the wood from the stump grind hit our house by providing a house shield. Their equipment was state of the art. The tree was removed quickly and efficiently taking great care to avoid hitting the house. The price was reasonable. I would highly recommend their service.

They attempted to provide a stump grinding only to go half way into the stump. They then said it was unsafe to finish the job because they were concerned about the proximity to gas lines. If the job was truly unsafe then they should have never started the job (they assessed beforehand). And ultimately they should have offered some form of refund since the service was never completed. The office was not helpful and the owner was made aware and made no attempt to resolve. Unfortunately it seems they are only out to collect money and the owner knows nothing about customer service and quality.

The guys who cut the trees did a great job. They get the star. The rest of the company is THE WORST company ever!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The grapple truck broke several of my pavers on my driveway & the company refuses to pay for the repairs. On top of that it took them over 2 weeks to pick up the yardwaste & cut trees. It sat on my grass as well as my neighbors yard after they told us it would be picked up the next day. They are liars so do yourself a favor & call a reputable company & not this one.

I used Southern Turf tree service for my first time and I can say that Joe's North team and Travis J crew are awesome guys to work with and my needs which was some really high trimming. I will use them again for my second project next month. Joe makes double sure you are happy before he & his team pulls away. Trust me if will not be disappointed at all. Keith. Great job done twice by Travis J`s crew, first by trimming trees and second clearing perimeter for the fence installation.

These guys have got it going on. They were able to work through difficult power lines and remove a 3 forked pine tree that was huge and leaning badly and would have taken out power lines. Professional and courteous. I would use them again and again. This tree was a monster. They took the stump out, too.

The entire Southern Turf crew did a great job removing large trees that were very difficult to reach and posing significant risk to our house and pool. All of the team members were skilled, courteous and safe throughout the entire day long job. I will call them again if needed and recommend them highly.

The crew was polite and efficient. My 30-foot diseased palm tree was down, and debris was removed within an hour. A great job.

Removed the wrong tree and destroyed the wrong shed, and ruined electricity to my detached garage / shop for my business. Owner of the company refuses to respond to any messages, sales rep Jay, says “I’m an independent contractor, this has nothing to do with the company, it’s all on me”. Very poor experience. Has caused significant issues to my business. In the process of suing. Please do everything that you can to avoid this company. If I could rate them 0 I would.

I had them come to my property to get rid of my trees and brush in April 2024. But they never came back to finish picking up the debris. I called them in early September, and they asked for photos of the debris, to which I complied immediately, and I am still waiting for them. In the meantime, I've been throwing out barrels of trash every week since April. I paid them $9,000 for the work, and I'm stuck with the cleanup. I'm looking at at least a year before I can complete this on my own. One more thing to mention is that their heavy trucks and machines disrupted my land and created dunes, which I had to level out as well. Also, not all of the tree stumps were ground down or removed. Other than that, they did a good job.

Very professional people. Very organized and punctual. I got a huge tree removed from my property and they brought cranes and all proper equipment. The work was done very safely and no damages happened to the surrounding structures or driveway at all. They follow all safety protocols. The crew consisted of 7-8 people and each one had his job assigned. They were also very fast and focused on their work, doing things step by step and very calculated manner.
After the tree was cut, the pile of tree branches was removed and hauled away within 4-5 hours and same day by a different truck. The total price was decent and according to the quality of service they provide. Basically you get what you pay for. Their Quality check person called before they finished and made sure that job was done properly and complete. I would definitely recommend them without hesitation. I will give them HIGH MARKS!!

About an hour ago, Gauge came to my residence and offered an almost too good to be true deal.. He said he could have his boss come to my property to give a free estimate on tree trimming. I asked the two basic questions; do you haul away the lumber, or could you cut it up for firewood. I was told yes..
Justin, the boss, just left. He offered a GREAT PROPOSAL I could not refuse! He and his crew will be here within a couple of hours to do what is planned. I always appreciate locally owned businesses and I'm very happy they are able to do the work in the same day!!!! Props to you, Justin and Gauge!!!

Christian gave us a fair price for the amount of work that needed done. They came a few days later to start the job. I didn't receive notice that they we're coming. The first thing they did was cut down the tree in the neighbors yard. The job went haywire after that. They didn't do what was on the proposal and sniveled when I pointed out what needed to be done. They did some of the work, but not all and left debris. After calling Christian back, he sent a young man named Jay over to supervise the last work needed. If they had a supervisor on the job that knew the scope of the job in the first place, the job would have gone smoothly.
I'm satisfied with the final results.

Got a quote from Justin yesterday, which was very reasonable for all the work I needed done. Today the Jay and the entire crew showed up at 11:30, worked like crazy 'til 3 and completed everything I needed done and more. They cut back a lot of bamboo, some trees, trimmed my front shrubs and left everything all cleaned up. Their equipment is top notch and they never stopped. Excellent job

I needed someone to take a look at some trees in my yard, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From the initial consultation to the final cleanup, their service was top-notch.

The certified arborist Justin was incredibly knowledgeable and provided valuable insights into the health and maintenance of my trees. He assessed the situation, offering practical advice on which trees needed trimming, which were healthy, and which ones needed to be removed. I will most definitely be doing business with again.

Where do I even begin? I started my project with a newly hired project manager on 4/26/24: a gentleman who was too good to be true. He was thorough, communicative, and professional to start my project with. I had a lot of things listed to be done with my project including: tree trimming, tree removal, stump grinding, trenching, landscape grading, and the works all for $7,000! I was told that my project from start to finish would be done within a week to a week and a half. That sounded great! Well... I went from having amazing communication with the project manager between 4/26-5/12... On 5/13 I reached out and got no response from there on besides being informed to follow up with the office. Between 5/13 until now (7/10) I have had minimal to no communication besides fighting to get ahold of someone. I have sent emails, I have called, and each time that I was told "we will be back with you by end of day," I would wait days. My week/half project has turned into over 2.5months of fighting to just get someone out to finish. Not to mention that it took them 3 weeks to inform me that the project manager that I had been working with wasn't even with the company any longer and that that would be the start of my everyday battle just to get information. I paid this company in full just to fight for what I had paid for. I waited to leave a review until the final day of my project (7/10) just to see how long it would take. The amount of times I called, and emailed just to be met with many excuses ranging from machines being down, people out of office, and having "another project first." They left a huge pile of dirt that needed to be spread on my property for weeks! It was growing grass by the time they got out here!
I could go on for days about the overall dissatisfaction and disappointment that I have experienced- including all the proof, but what good would it do since I already paid.

The only true compassionate and communicative person that I have met since is their primary stump grinder, Blue. He has been sent out to my site 4-5 times since April, encouraging me to keep trying to contact the office. He has grinded stumps, he trenched my property line like I asked, and even checks in with the customer to make sure he did what was wanted before leaving the site.
I am happy that they have someone working with the company who is genuine.

You guys are the best. You have heavy duty equipment to get the job done quickly and do excellent work without fault. And the clean up removed the last little twig.

The Team was awesome. The quote and follow up was excellent. Had two live oaks trimmed and canopies raised. They made me aware when they were in their way. They did an awesome job cleaning the yard up and you would never even know they were here . Highly recommend.

Southern Turf informed me that they would complete the permit for the tree removal in Apopka which is a requirement. I called them 4 times requesting the permit. I received no reply. I then emailed them about 4 times and nothing. I then spoke to Christie on 6/26 and said that Justin would call me. Nothing. So I contacted the City of Apopka and was told that my mother now has to pay $150. I emailed stating that I wanted a refund of $150 and still nothing. The City of Apopka also emailed them and stated the following:
Dear Southern Turf,

Please be advised, when any tree is removed within the Apopka City limits it is required to obtain a permit before removal or Code Enforcement will be contacted. Also, for future reference, I would provide your clients with a copy of the permit before work is started.

For me to write this review is a last resort to get a refund of $150. Hopefully, my mother will not receive any future fines for not having a permit.
Other than this issue, they were fast and the price was reasonable.

Was surprised to find an honest company out there that can deliver on what they say, as we kissed a lot of frogs to find you guys. The only place to go! Removal of 3 trees, preparation and millings of approx. 6,000SqFt, mulching to reclaim property boundary.

We have a large property with several “ancient oaks”, lots of live oaks, laurel oaks and water oaks. We just had a crew here yesterday to do some major trimming and to remove a diseased tree. We originally met with Christian, who went over every detail of the recommended work. He answered all our questions and concerns. We watched the entire process, directed by Travis, who was very professional and skilled. The HUGE pile of debris, which was piled up on our front lawn, was picked up this morning…again, a very professional job! Justin and his brother run an honest business. If I could give 1000 stars I would. Fair quote and straight forward. They know their trees, being in the business 30+ years, and aren't looking to chop them down for money. After receiving several outrageous quotes and bad, bad advice, my sister and I chose Southern Turf. After removing branches and suckers on four trees and falling the fifth, they were generous enough to grind the stump. They were done in 2 hrs the only thing I didn't like was that the truck which takes all the cuttings away didn't come until 630 last night and they took down tree at 9am. They were fair and did a great job.

They were a little over my budget but did a great job. Kept their word and trimmed trees, cut tree down and cleaned up everything! Next day the stump grinder showed up.

Would not recommend this company to anyone. They’re scammers. Completely lied to me and double charged me 1200$ for something that should of only cost 500.. I paid for a 60 yard claw truck to pick up maybe 40 yards of debris and they sent a truck over 3/4 full and barely took anything, and then lied to me about it. No one could get their story straight but when asked they said that the driver only picked up a little and was supposed to go back but never did. I called and talked to Jessica and she said it was a miss understanding and the driver was coming back out. Never did.. had to call them and tell them to bring the guy back out to finish loading what was 25-30 yards of debris and to find out they charged me again for something they said they were going to take care of. I paid for a 60 yard truck it should have been empty when it pulled onto my job site. This has been a terrible experience Whitney and Jessica scammed me out of my money and I will never use this company.

Southern Turf with their amazing crew including several arborists did a fantastic job cleaning out 2 giant Live Oaks, trimming 13 palm trees, and cleaning it all up. Eddie explained everything and drew up the detailed contract making sure he answered all my questions and concerns. I was so impressed by not only the skill but also the manners and respect the entire team showed. I even met one of the partners, Philip and appreciated the arborists making sure I was satisfied. I am having a new fence put in. The Southern Turf team was out first thing this morning on short notice. They removed a lot of neglected brush and cleaned up all the trees nicely. I would highly recommend them, and definitely use them again!

Our neighborhood was at a loss for several years on how to repair an area around our lake that was eroding and posing a safety hazard. Southern Turf stepped in with the solution - reasonably priced, too! Ricky was extremely professional and friendly to work with! The work was done expeditiously and with minimal impact to homeowners' property. I highly recommend this company!

Brett explained the services very well and I readily accepted the contract. I was not disappointed. This team was very experienced and the equipment top notch! They started about 8:30 in the morning and the really large oak tree was down plus the stump ground by 11:45. The debris was completely cleaned by 4:00 as I needed a second pick up of debris. There were just some small track marks left that I could rake over and I was warned that I would see that. Any team member I talked to would get the answers right away. Being a widow who never dealt with a large tree removal, I felt that the heavy efficient equipment and team were so easy to work with to get my overwhelming task of a large tree removal completed in one day!! Excellent! I had a huge Oak tree that I needed to have cut down. Brett came and gave me a very affordable quote, explained in detail the whole process. Two days later Brett and his crew arrived with all of the necessary equipment, they cut down my tree, ground the stump and did some work for my neighbor as well. They even cut some of the wood so I can use it in my fire pit and removed all of the debris. They will be my go to for tree service and highly recommend this company.

The Southern Turf tree trimming team arrived on time and with all the equipment necessary to complete the job. Brett’s team worked efficiently to remove all the long branches from the two Sycamore trees in our yard that had grown out close to our new roof. Travis did an excellent job maneuvering the extended buckle to get close enough to cut limbs off with precision missing the roof and the pool screen. Other members of the team moved the fallen limbs to the curbed parking area in the front of the house. A grapple truck removed all debris within 24 hours as promised. I recommend Southern Turf to handle your tree trimming projects around your house. I could see that Travis and his team took great pride in doing a thorough job. Now we feel are home is more prepared to withstand any bad weather in the future

Terrible customer service with the owner -Travis. Payton, office mgr, was not professional…gave quotes on a job. She didn’t even know what the heck she was talking about.
