The fence looks great and the staff was very meticulous with their work, including trimming the pavers so the post went into the ground clean. I would definitely use them again.

Solid Structures did an excellent job installing the Imagine fiberglass pool. His paver work is beautiful and the outdoor kitchen he installed is top notch.
The Imagine Fiberglass pools they sell were the highest quality I found in my searching for a pool. Easy to work with and a pleasure to have in my backyard.

Our pool opened in May of 2024. We met with several pool companies in 2023. It was obvious from the start that Solid Structures did things differently. While they are not the cheapest option, they have a real commitment to satisfying the customer. Their quoted price was above what we were hoping to pay. However, it was by far the best value in the long run. The other companies were showing different numbers based on several variables, including the placement of the equipment (charging by the foot for electrical, gas and piping). Solid Structures allowed us to put everything exactly where we wanted it (within reason) for a flat price. And the number they gave in the beginning was exactly what we paid in the end. This piecemeal vs all-inclusive approach was really what sold us on them. I assume the hidden charges with the other guys would have started early and added up very quickly.
Solid Structures handled everything (since we went with pavers) including the administrative piece around inspections. It was nice having one entity responsible for everything.
There were hiccups of course. In my opinion, if you are not prepared for some challenges and frustrations, then you are not yet ready to invest in a pool, regardless of who installs it.
It is a long process and scheduling is always in flux. Unforeseen issues pop up more often than anyone wants. We had an ongoing issue that we thought was resolved several months ago, but they needed to come back again this summer to put in a completely different option. While the time and effort invested was not ideal for us or them, we are exceptionally happy with the results.
Some general advice for pool shoppers: know exactly what you are buying and how it will look and function in the end. While Solid Structures was very accommodating when it came to the gray areas, I can only assume most installers would not be. I’ve heard plenty of horror stories…
If you are able to, go with these folks!. And yes, you want a fiberglass pool

Pictures don’t do it justice! The hardscape their team completed is better than I pictured it. The team was professional and showed up each day ready to go. They understood what I wanted from a design perspective and executed perfectly. Highly recommend this company. We are very happy.

OK, bear with me here. Full review. My wife and I moved to Virginia Beach in August 2024. Lifelong Midwesterners. No need for an inground pool our entire lives. Part of the moving deal I made with my kids was that in exchange for positive attitudes, that we would get a pool once we got to Virginia.

We shopped around for numerous options and builders and landed on solid structures. This, aside from moving to Virginia, may have been the best decision we made last year.

Aaron and Kim and Alex and Stephen made the entire process easy, collaborative, and fun. We had very specific ideas of what we wanted and what we did not want (maybe we were not the easiest clients) and they listened and delivered the entire way through.

Communication was such a massive deal for us as we had just moved, had never owned a pool, and had not embarked on such an ambitious landscape project ever before. The communication and updates throughout the build was top-notch. We never had to question when somebody was going to be at the house or what they would be doing when they were there. The whole process took about three months and finished on time and on budget. Along the way, we added a few things that we didn’t know at the beginning we would want, and they accommodated every request.

As great as the communication and build process was during the project, I am all the more impressed with the support and follow up we have received after the project was complete. They have trained us on how to be competent pool owners, have always been on call for any follow up questions, and have checked in regularly to ensure that everything is in proper working condition. When a small piece in the pump was working incorrectly, they fixed and replaced it within 24 hours For no charge whatsoever.

Landscaping, hardscapes, pool installation, are all huge investments of time, money, and energy. And having a partner like Solid Structures is massively important. I would recommend them wholeheartedly. The end result is a pool and landscape that my wife is in love with, my kids are enjoying regularly, and I feel great about.

I can't say enough positive things about the Solid Structures team, and a special shoutout to Jason for all his hard work. They have been an absolute pleasure to work with and delivered everything on time and in keeping with their promises. The pool is absolutely beautiful and they have continued to provide support and training for me as a new pool owner, well past their contractual obligations. I got turned on to Solid Structures first through The Home Depot. We were looking to have a fence install. We had The Home Depot do a few things for us in the past and were very pleased with the results. The fence was installed by Solid Structures and after completion I felt lucky to know Solid Structures and immediately knew I'd be working with them again. So thank you too The Home Depot.
So this spring we hired Solid Structures for some hardscaping/ artificial turf installation. Everything went smoothly and turned out great. We also decided at the last minute that a tree was in the way so they removed it, stump and all.
I also want to say that weather your dealing with the office personnel or the work crew, they're all exceptional and professional. Two thumbs up.

Great work! Done quickly even with issues of delivery; overall happy with the quality/speed of building 100 ft worth of fence, gate in 1.5 days.

The Solid Structures crew was very professional and easy to work with. They understood what my idea was and worked in a limited space to get the job completed within a realistic time frame. Update: In response to owner Scott. Moral of this story. IF YOUR PM was here to manage this project we would not be at this point. Given the entire scenario Scott- I do believe you should come and remove this pool, provide a brand new defect free pool and install coping and hardscape like it should be- like we ordered- like we paid for. Why should we have to settle and be happy with a brand new pool being installed with 9-10 defects- one of which was already repaired before it arrived. You cannot buff, repair, spray, scrub or paint that pool like the original manufactured process. Your accuracy isn't 100% here and the review stands. I will not remove it as per your request.
Nick- salesman was great.5 stars for Nick! Promises made were not promises kept- from installation timeframe to quality of products. The excavation crew was fantastic! Worked hard and fast and they deserve 5 stars. The largest problem lies with the PM- ours was Jason. He hopped from job to job- was never here as promised to provide oversight. Clearly oversight was needed. I can’t count the times he verbalized he would be here and never showed.. or showed up for 10 minutes 5 hours late. The electrician mounted the wiring as you see in the picture- the pool crew stopped the lines well short of the fence and stuck them in mid air. If the PM was here that wouldn’t have happened. The timber tech delivered to us certainly appeared well used. The salesman stated they would rectify it- the PM said they had no control over what was given to them and that it was new. Does it look new? When the hardscape folks installed the wrong design the PM blamed it on the salesman. Somehow apparently the salesman should also be the PM? We immediately had issues with the coping (see holes and chunks missing on the manufactured pieces- no they are not natural stone with natural variances) we immediately brought it to the attention of solid structures before any other pieces were laid. What occurred was a lot of gas lighting and making us feel like we are picky. The PM would make it abundantly clear that if he corrected anything it would likely damage pieces around it so do you want to do that? Keep that in mind he said. Hardscape guys brought a dog to the work site which ran loose and was attacked by another dog in the neighborhood. We had countless excuses for people not showing up to work.- vacation- sickness- no excuse no show- come for a few hours on a beautiful day and leave. I did hear about a $400,000 project they were working on from the PM- when he was supposed to be here and showed up 5 hours later in the midst of problems he had to run to get back to that project. Makes you feel important huh? It was long and drawn out and full of pointing fingers mostly at Nick the salesman (he was great) but in finality and worst of all we found a crack in the corner of the pool then a hole and bubbles in the floor of the splash deck. The manufacturer came a few days ago for repair. Upon draining the pool (we did ourselves-our cost for water, chemicals etc) we found a repair done before it arrived here and another crack. So now there were 6-7 defects on the splash pad and 3 other cracks. The repair man combined the areas on the splash pad. See pictures. I’ve contacted solid structures and the manufacturer. Our expectation was- We paid for a first quality pool and hardscape without defects. Not a defective 2nd or 3rd quality pool. All the issues here are your fault solid structures. Eluding to us being picky- NO- we paid for 1st quality and that’s what we are entitled to. We were never pre-warned that something like this could occur. There are other issues with the hardscape- poorly installed-poorly cut- poorly chosen defective pieces were installed.-restoration to yard etc - but defects to our pool… No… the picture showing the large very shiny circles is what we have now. We are devastated. This is not ok. This is a brand new placed in the ground first quality pool with all those defects.

We loved the tiered gardens and backyard so much, we asked them to do the entire driveway. The stone paver deck, walkway, and driveway tie everything together beautifully and create such a functional outdoor space. What an amazing team to work with! We used Solid Structures for a small paver and deck project. We originally were only going to have them build a small paver path and the small deck for our pool but we loved what they did so much that we called them back and had them create a firepit for us as well. The guys they send out to do the work do an amazing job. Working with Nick, Alex, and Cherie was a breeze. All the work was done quickly and they were able to start the work before the dates they gave us which was great for us!

The crew was kind, courteous and professional throughout the entire experience. I hired Solid Structures for a pool project. I love the design they came up with. Our experience with Nick and Scott (sales/design) has been great. The products they used are of great quality (no complains on that).

Now, there seems to be a disconnection between project management and execution. The project has been on idle when most days have been sunny and clear, and even when they come, they work for a few hours and leave. This company seems to be very stretched and not able to handle multiple projects well. Is anyone else experiencing this at the moment?

We could not be more pleased! Carlos and crew did a great job. They paid attention to the little details ensuring that the overall project exceeded our expectations. The job was done in two days, as we agreed. Again, great job! Thank you!

Solid structures replaced our front sidewalk and built a new walkway from the side garage door to a new patio in the back yard. A total of between 500 and 600 sq ft. The crew worked together well and the young man laying the pavers was really a bit of an artist in fitting and shaping the pavers through the curves and fit up at existing structures. Nick, who quoted the job and provided the design sketches, was always available to address any questions and was flexible on the minor design change we had during the project, which was unforseen by all.

This project was completed on 6/3/24. Solid Structures actually started and finished this project ahead of the original timeline, which was a bonus for us due to our schedule. The project has been complete for a couple of weeks now and no issues have arised; however, I am confident if anything does arise that Solid Structure team will address it properly.

We are overall very happy with the end product and the effort of the crew assigned to this project. The only criticism I have is in regard to some of the communications. We'll not address any specifics here, but there were a few times when work should have been paused and a discussion had without the customer initiating it.

We chose Solid Structures because of their A+ BBB rating, reviews, and Nick was pretty convincing too. Thank you to all that was involved with this job.

Here's to hoping we don't run into the same issue 2 years from now!

Solid Structures did a paver patio for us 2 years ago, which replaced a deck we had previously. On the second day of the project, after the pavers were placed and the polymeric sand was laid, there was a forcasted downpour a few hours later. Knowing this downpour was on its way and a downpour may cause issues with the sand curing, I reached out to Ryan and also talked with the job leader to make sure this wouldn't be an issue, which they both assured me it wouldn't be. Fast forward to now, we have weeds growing between the pavers, which we expressed as a worry to Ryan when he first suggested a paver patio. I reached out to Solid Structures today, and the solution would likely be that the polymeric sand would need to be reapplied. Since its been 2 years, this is something we will either need to do ourselves or pay them to do; however, based on my research, if the sand had an opportunity to properly cure, we wouldn't be in this predicament. I trusted Ryan and the job leader when they said it wouldn't be an issue, they are the experts after all, but I should have trusted my gut and either asked them to hold off or cover the patio prior to the downpour. Now I'm stuck with either having to constantly pull weeds, reapplying the polymeric sand myself, or paying a lot of money to have someone else reapply it. Other than this issue, I am mostly satisfied with the patio, and the crew were hardworking and respectful. However, I'm not sure I would recommend Solid Structures since I feel the issue we are experiencing could have easily been avoided.

Update: After posting this review Solid Structures reached out about correcting the issue. They powerwashed the dirt out of the cracks and re-applied the polymeric sand. I've updated my review from 1 star to 3. I'll revist the review the in another 2 years and update the status of the patio. If the sand holds up this time I'll add another star.

I would not recommend for a paver patio installation. I got a paver patio installed by them about 2 years ago. One of the finishing touches done to ensure a nice patio is to apply polymeric sand in the joints to prevent weeds from growing. This step was done a few hours before we had a heavy rainstorm. I raised my concern because all the research I had done specifies that polymeric sand needs time to cure and should not be applied if a heavy rain fall is expected because the sand may be washed out of the cracks before it has time to harden. When I raised this concern, I was told "That's not how it works". Now here I am, 2 years later pulling weeds out between all of the joints. When we contacted them recently about this I was told "It's outside our one year warranty." When in reality, the job was never done correctly in the first place. If you want your patio to look nice for a year, go with them, if you want it to look nice for longer find someone who will do the job right the first time and stand behind their work.

Jason is very good. He came to check on our pool not working and figured out the problem quickly and fixed that same day. He is very methodical in approach and patience to listen understand and analyze the problem. Thank you.

Overall it was a great experience working with them getting a patio installed at my home from start to finish. My problems occurred after it was finished. I was out of town when the job was completed and was told a post job inspection would take place to make sure I was satisfied with the installation. That never happened. I called multiple times because the fire pit was not installed the way I specifically requested it to be installed. The top layer of stone was just placed on top of the fire pit with no adhesive securing it.

Solid Structures are the real deal. They tackled a huge backyard renovation and new pool install for our house and literally swung an entire pool over our house with a crane. Their design work is awesome - they 3d rendered our entire house and we could "walk through" the renovation with virtual reality which really helped us see what the final product would look like and make changes we wanted BEFORE construction began. Making changes after construction begins increases the costs so this makes total sense. Every contractor should use this technology. Most importantly, the owner is extremely ethical and at the end of the day, that's what you want with a contractor. We recommend Solid Structures.

Solid structures was recommended to me by a friend. We recently purchased a new build and wanted a paver patio in our backyard. Solid structures was very professional and explained the process well as far as pricing and timeline of the project. The entire project took two days to complete. And we are pleased with the results.

We had our front fence replace. The workers were prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable. They did not mind answering my questions. They cleaned up when they were done. After contacting Solid Structures about completing a rooftop deck project that was abandoned by another contractor, I was absolutely blown away by the speed and professionalism of the entire team's response to my request. Ryan Earley, who was my point of contact for the project, reached out to me immediately after I submitted the online request, and was available to address any and all questions along the way. Jay and the installation team did a fantastic job with the deck itself, and completed the job in a very short period of time. After dealing with so many deadbeats over the years, my experience with Solid Structures has restored my faith in the contractor industry, and my family and I couldn't be happier with the results!

I can’t recommend Solid Structures enough! We have hired them to rebuild our deck, install our pool patio pavers and ultimately the pool fencing. Each crew member who has been on site has been outstanding. Our experience started with Ryan who helped select our materials, design, layout, and even went above and beyond coordinating with our concrete pool contractor to ensure an overall quality product. He has been in constant contact ensuring the project has gone smoothly. If any site challenges arise, he is immediately reaching out and offering solutions. For the deck project Lucky and Montrel are superior craftsmen. They were meticulous laying out and installing the deck and did a great job coordinating the supplies, permit inspections and installation of the light kit. For the paver pool deck, Mariano and Gabriella were excellent with the site prep and paver installation. They were some of the hardest workers I have ever seen and worked with me to run conduit and some items that really helped me out. The entire solid structures team has been a pleasure to work with and we couldn’t be happier. There has been consistent clear communication on schedule and project cycle. Once the fence is complete we will revise the review however, I anticipate them to once again exceed my expectations.

WHY is this the only fence company Home Depot works with? Unprofessional. They called to set up a consult. Refused to discuss anything with my measurements over the phone. Waited weeks for the scheduled day and ...nothing! Not a call or a text to say they weren't coming. We just sat here and the office was closed. After reading the nightmares others had, I will take my business elsewhere. since they have all the home depot business, I doubt they care...about my work or yours!

We had a deck removed and replaced with pavers. The first problem we had was that they started later than they had quoted when we first signed the contract but the delay wasn’t obscene. The real issue came when they started demolishing the old deck. The workers attempted to cut corners and had to be reminded of the scope of work in the contract on multiple occasions. Then, instead of cleaning up the debris, they scattered it throughout the yard and even damaged the gate with their equipment. Company was informed of these issues and sent workers back out. They cleaned a very small corner of the finished paver section and never came back again. Solid Structure never followed up to ensure that work had been done to satisfaction. The work on the pavers looks great but other issues prevent me from recommending them to anyone that doesn’t have time to closely supervise the process.

After searching for the right company to install an in-ground pool at my house, I spoke with Ryan Earley at SOLID STRUCTURES and I knew my search had ended. He was very professional and in-tune with our families vision for an outdoor living space. SOLID STRUCTURES quoted me a bit higher than other companies, but their quality and timeliness surpasses anything that I could have imagined. Other companies were saying that they couldn’t complete the job within a year and Ryan and his team were able to finish in about 6 weeks with rain delays! The team is SOLID and so are there STRUCTURES! No regrets…. $$ well spent!

Absolutely great experience from solid structures. From start to finish, Ryan was on the ball. From initial consultation, during installation and post installation Ryan was amazing. Big thank you to the front desk as well(sorry I can't remember her name) but they gave me a call everything there was an update or change. All of the installers were respectful and did an amazing job. There was a slight confusion on placement for one of the patios and Ryan immediately heard my concern, communicated with the crew and even stopped by after hours to make sure everything was settled and we were happy. Ryan Earley was our main point of contact and he responded promptly to every request that we made during design & construction. When I say promptly, it was within 15 minutes or less.

Their paver crew were unbelievable as they worked from 8:30 AM until dark every night. Their craftmanship from constructing the sub-base to
building our curved walls & lighting was amazing.

Buying a pool is a huge decision to make and Ryan went above and beyond to answer all of our questions and made this process amazingly easy. After our first meeting with Ryan, we wanted to discuss the purchase amongst ourselves for a bit. Installing two large pergolas was the THIRD project that Solid Structures did for us and it was fantastic.
Superb quality, performed ahead of schedule and left the work area all cleaned up.
They were especially helpful assisting in design changes to accomodate easements and trees.
They have my strongest possible recommendation.

Solid Structures was the local distributor for Soake Pools. They were responsible for site preparation, setting the pool and connection of all equipment. Throughout the process their project manager, Ryan, was very responsive. He answered all our questions and tracked down information we needed to pass on to our hardscape contractor. The on-site team, Jason and Jared, were on time, professional and knowledgeable about all aspects of the install. Having one company responsible for the pool and another for the hardscape is not ideal but Solid Structures was a good partner in the process. Looking forward to seeing the finished product in a few weeks.

Excellent communication through out the process with both Ryan and Jason, always informed of the logistics and questions answered quickly and receptively. Crews were diligent and professional. Paver crew were amazing in work and cleanliness. Electricians have done great work despite some material availability. All areas of the project were easy to work with and accommodate some requests I had for future work I would be taking on.

Here's to hoping the happiness in this end result lasts for many years to come.
