Great work by Solid Structures working the construction process including permitting. Very accommodating working through coordinated scheduling between site prep and actual building construction. Framing/Siding crew did a great job as did doors and concrete work crews. Project Manager had diligent follow through and communication during entire process. Very satisfied with finished product.

Overall I was very disappointed working with SS, although I am pleased with the outcome of my 30 x 32 pole barn garage.Right from the start things were rocky. I was told the materials would arrive on site on a specific date…they didn’t arrive until 8 days later almost 12 days later..The first SS crew that arrived and work was steady for the first week- concrete, poles and trusses .New crew arrived next day and there were issues, no crew boss, workers sitting around, lots of loud profanity, and arguing among the workers about what was supposed to get done and how it was supposed to proceed. The framing inspector showed and it failed due to not having renewed plans that showed a big window on the west side. Despite me providing the window before revised plans were drawn up, they claimed it was my fault, more delays awaiting the company’s architect to draw up revision of the revision plans, took almost a week. They installed the sheathing on the roof incorrectly and was just going to cover it with paper when I called it out , the workers dismissed it , but I insisted they fix it. They then installed the metal roof incorrectly and after going back and forth and them trying to cut corners with a “fix” I demanded new panels;more delays.Work continued for a few days then they claimed they were done and were awaiting garage door people. There were missing trim pieces, eaves not completed, gable vents not installed which were all on the plans;more delays awaiting more trim and other pieces. Garage door installers couldn’t complete their install because garage door trim was not complete;more delays. We are now 10 weeks into the project that I was told would take 4.Final inspection, another fail, multiple issues including again the plans not reflecting what the inspector was seeing at the project site. They blamed the inspector for not knowing his job and it wasn’t their fault. Another 7 days of awaiting for corrections to be made. Another final inspection scheduled, another fail. The Firewall on the west side was installed improperly. Again they claimed “we do this type of Firewall installation all time”. I then get a call from SS stating they are not responsible for the fire wall corrections and I can call a contractor to finish it. I refused to make final payment until the project was done to code and passed final inspection….they finally relented and finished the project and we passed Final inspection on Aug 1- Materials were delivered mid April !!!!
I am pleased with the garage, but as you read getting there were major hassles with delayed communication, lack of worker supervision, incompetent persons on work crews, lackadaisical attitude, lack of following basic protocol (plans), at times shoddy workmanship, and lastly, unwilling to admit and correct mistakes until/unless called out! This is not a company I would ever do business with again and if you do ensure you get everything you want in the contract including timelines for completed steps, AND monitor their work closely, and ensure you don’t fully pay until final inspection is approved…..or as I would recommend, just go with another company as it’s not worth the hassle.

Reached out to Solid Structures back in early 2024 for quote on 40x60 shop in advance of starting our house build. After delays on our side and county weather road closures, we finally were able to build our shop. We did this remote (while living North of Austin TX) and working with Brooke on structure details were very easy. After a few tweaks on design and finishes to fit within our budget for this project (and Brooke being very patient with us) we finally started the build in mid-April 2025.
We made our first trip out there in late May (first time to see the completed project in person) and we were very pleased. We had met our custom home builder out on property and they were impressed with quality and construction.
Reason we went with Solid Structures was due to their patience with our inquiries, and the fact they had a patent on the type of brackets they used - these brackets didn't go unnoticed by our home builder - they were so impressed they planned on reaching out to Solid Structures to get more information for any of their clients looking to build a shop or external garage.
We highly recommend their business and our son might reach out when he's ready to build his external garage.

The average roof replacement cost for a residential home typically ranges from $7,000 to $15,000, depending on factors such as roof size, chosen materials, roof pitch, and labor rates in your area. Premium materials or complex designs may increase the price.
The cost to replace the roof of a commercial building typically ranges from $5 to $12 per square foot, depending on several factors such as roof size, material, labor rates, building type, and local code requirements.
Several factors influence roof repair cost, including the extent of the damage, roof accessibility, material type, labor costs, and whether it’s a general repair or an emergency fix. Minor repairs can start around $150–$400, while major repairs may exceed $1,500.
Roof leak repair cost generally ranges from $300 to $800, depending on the size and location of the leak, the materials required, and labor intensity. Complex leaks involving structural repairs or interior damage will cost more.
Flat roof repair cost for commercial properties usually ranges from $500 to $3,000, depending on the roofing material (TPO, EPDM, PVC), the extent of the damage, and roof accessibility.
Mobile home roof replacement cost typically ranges from $3,000 to $8,000, making it generally more affordable than traditional home roof replacements, due to smaller size and simpler structure.
It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.
The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.
To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.
Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.
When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.
Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
