This is a company which does exactly what they say they will do! I highly recommend this company for your roof replacement. I had my roof replaced on 10/25/24. Joey came out in September to provide no hassle estimate options. He was professional, customer focused, and personable, and answered all of my questions. Cristle, the office manager, followed up regularly, and was very responsive to all of my questions. Collin, the project manager for my job was professional, personable, and kept me abreast of any updates and concerns throughout the roof installation process. They did a great job and cleaned up the grounds and even checked my neighbor's yard to ensure there was no debris. This company is very customer focused. It was a good experience. Great job!

Roofing Systems of Hampton Roads just put a new roof on my house. It was a difficult job for many reasons - steep slopes, many angles, and the existing roof was very old and slippery. Collin and his crew did an outstanding job! They paid attention to the smallest details. They even replaced the old white, builder's grade vents with black ones to better match the roof color. My neighbors are completely envious.

Collin kept me informed every step of the way. When a decision had to be made, he gave me all the facts and laid out my options and the associated costs (if any) of each option. Which brings me to one other point. On such a large scale, demanding job I was expecting to get hit with several change orders as they encountered various unforeseen circumstances. In fact, there was only one, and for that issue I was given a possible solution that would not have required a change order.

Finally, they did a great job cleaning up when the job was finished.

Recently went with Roofing Systems to have our roof replaced. Out of about 6-7 quotes they were the only contractor I had come by that offered Certainteed (other brands weren't impact resistant) and RSHR were roughly 2nd or 3rd as far as pricing went. Most of the crew arrived by 7 AM and they were done with the roof by 4pm. Collin was my project manager for the roof replacement and was available throughout the whole process to answer any questions and to coordinate tear down, supply deliveries, and supervise clean up. We only needed an additional two deck boards so our initial quote was almost exactly the same as the final invoice so there were no surprises for us as far as cost went. They supplied all new hardware for most of the vents on the roof (HVAC was not included due to being tied into the furnace) and were all paint matched (even the old HVAC exhaust) to the roof. Exceptionally happy overall and am really looking forward to seeing how it holds up during storms. Thanks again and we'll be keeping RSHR at the top of our list for future home improvement projects!

Wow! Had this roof installed 6 years ago....never had an issue until this last huge rain storm on Sunday. I emailed them on Monday (week before Christmas) and they showed up the next day and fixed the roof! Awesome

Hampton Roads Roofing Systems did an amazing job wrapping our house and replacing our gutters. The work was done quickly once the contracts were signed and the pricing provided was the best out of the 3 quotes we were given. Joey and team were very professional and responsive. They communicated when they would be there and ensured to follow up when there was a weather delay. I highly suggest hiring them if you need any soffit, fascia or gutter work.

We worked with Joey. He came out and looked things over and came back with a quote that was significantly less than other “high end roof repair” companies. From the start Joey was extremely down to earth and all around awesome to work with. He answered all of our questions. Once we said let’s do it and started work, his team found a stretch of 40ft that was rotted and installed incorrectly (pictured). They reworked it and while it was an increase in the overall cost we were happy to pay it knowing they were doing it correctly. They took pictures and showed us step by step their process. If the repair wasn’t needed, they would have been done in 1 day!! They finished up the next morning and cleaned up. This was my first roofing job… and it went well. They started by giving me a quick appointment to get an estimate with a fair price and MANY options. I already had roof damage (a leak) and the patched that up for me the next day until my roof replacement was started, which was only about 3 weeks away. They showed up promptly the morning of (prior to scheduled time), had a project manager on-site the entire time, and ensure the addressed all my concerns and made sure I was satisfied throughout. The we’re completely done by 4:30 pm, including clean up! No issues whatsoever. Highly recommended! Looking forward to my gutter replacement job next week!

Fantastic customer service and communication. I had to reschedule a couple times due to work and family issues and they were flexible and easy to work with. Install was done promptly with good craftsmanship. Shortly after install, got over an inch of rain in a few hours. No leaks or any other issues. All my previously installed gutter guards worked great. Their cleanup afterward was very fast and thorough. I highly recommend them.

We received quotes from three roofing contractors. We chose Roofing Systems of Hampton Roads, they were not the lowest or the highest quote. We made our decision because of the owner Jeremy Carroll, who is a very knowledgeable and personable individual He did a thorough inspection along with detailed quotes. These were all key factors in making our decision. Not only did we receive good professional service from Jeremy, but the office manager Cristle was very helpful from scheduling to shingle choices. The site manager Ben and the installation crew showed up promptly between 7-7:30 a m each day, everything was done with the utmost respect and care for our property.

Had a new roof installed. They did an excellent job. Roof looks so nice. Ben, supervisor in charge, was great; took care of all my concerns with warped boards and rippling I could see in my old roof. The new roof is straight and level now after replacing 9 boards. I had gotten 4 estimates and they were the lowest one with thicker pro shingles and more steps with protection around the perimeter of my roof. They did such a professional job and cleaned up, just like they were never there. I highly recommend you call them when you need a new roof. I am so pleased; I can not emphasize that enough!

I gave them a call, I had an obvious roof leak because I had water stains on my ceiling. They came out and quickly identified where they believe the water was coming in and showred me pictures. Joey Answered my questions, was very kind, personable and reassuring. The work was performed a few weeks later and it all seems fine! backstory: we had solar panels installed Aug 2021. fast fwd to winter, i noticed a couple roof shingles fell along with some snow that accumulated on the roof. fast fwd to spring, i contacted RSHR if they could rule out missing shingles or if they were just leftover debris from the install. Joey contacted me and inspected my roof the following day. fortunately, the shingles were just debris, but he noted several cracked cap singles that needed replacement. he sent over a quote, and i contacted Cristle at the office to schedule the repair which was done the following week. i appreciate their quick communication via email and text (i can't talk on the phone when i'm working). they're so friendly and easy to work with. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I chose Roofing Systems because of their strong ratings and excellent customer feedback. Count me among those who felt RS project manager Joey Gargaro and his crew did a superb job: in our case, it wasn't easy, given the condition of the part of the roof that was replaced. Joey listened, explained, and responded to all my questions and concerns. RS wasn't the cheapest, nor the most expensive, but provided terrific value for the work I and my wife needed done. After at least three downpours and a nor'easter, not a leak anywhere is to be found. I recommend them without reservation.

I had bids on the replacement of my roof from several companies. All of the bids were several thousand dollars higher than what I got from Jeremy, the owner of Roofing Systems. I was also impressed by how he came across and how personable he was. He told me that he only has one crew and does one job at a time so that all the companies resources are devoted to that one client for a day.

Originally the date of installation was going to be several weeks away, but they called and asked if I wanted to start in about a week. I was fine with that. On the day they showed up, I met Josh who is the on the ground supervisor, another very capable and friendly guy. He coordinated a crew of 7 roofers who draped all the sides of the house so that nothing would get damaged from debris and move all the patio furniture back from close to the house.

The job took all day, they stripped all the existing shingles off the roof and removed all the vents and patched the holes. They replaced them with ridge vents that look better and should work as well. They also rebuilt the cricket that diverts water near the chimney and removed an old satellite dish. They painted all the existing stack vents and replaced the collars with new.

The crew finished around 530, having started about 7am. The last hour had most of the crew cleaning and picking up any roof debris that didn't land in the tarps. I walked around afterward and only found one nail and a couple of pieces of tarpaper that they missed.

Looking back I am very satisfied with the quality of the work and the price of the job. I think the other companies overestimated the number of squares needed for the roof (Pyramid said 43, RSHR used 37) mostly to pad the bill which made their estimates several thousand more. RSHR also had to use a couple more sheets of sheathing for repair, but each sheet fixed several areas and they didn't overcharge for that.

I would recommend them to anybody looking for an honest contractor to replace a roof. They will be coming back to do my gutters as well.

We needed a roof inspection in order to purchase our home. It was time sensitive and we called so many different roofing companies. Roofing Systems of Hampton Roads was the only one that got back to us and they were very fairly priced. They inspected our roof that day! A two-day whirlwind of activity from a 5-man roofing team with a dedicated on-site supervisor overseeing the work. The install was crazy efficient and perfectly executed. Contacted them for a leak in my roof. They had to come out a few times as the first time they fixed it, it was still leaking. I got a new roof installed in Nov 2014 by Roofing Systems of Hampton Roads. During a recent sleet storm in Jan 2021, the tenants noticed a small leak in the kitchen ceiling. Roofing Systems of Hampton Roads came out the next morning and fixed the leak. I also had them remove an old satellite dish from the roof when they were out there. I appreciate the prompt service and keep up the good work!

Our primary residence roof installation with Roofing Systems of Hampton Roads (RSHR) was a great experience from first meeting for the estimate to the completed job. I had 4 roofing estimates from several respected companies and selected RSHR, due to their attention to detail and their above-and-beyond attitude. Jeremy (owner) and Josh (project manager) answered all my questions during estimate, provided a time line of the job and were most professional. The estimate was very competitive allowing me to select a premium shingle in the Certainteed line where RSHR is a master installer. Heather was the office representative and was extremely courteous and helpfulin logistics. John, the job coordinator, was onsite continuously while the hardworking team was engaged. Our roof was complex and significant square footage, took several days but went efficiently and flawlessly. We had a small issue, of no one's fault, but due to manipulation of the roof vent pipe, an attic furnace vent section in the attic disconnected, but when noticed, RSHR immediately remediated the situation. Very committed to quality, RSHR had outstanding follow-through and did everything they said they would do. I am extremely satisfied with the quality of the roof installation and with them as our contractor. They have my highest recommendation and I would definitely use them again if I have any concerns in the future.

My experience could not have been better. Everything Jeremy and his team did was professional. They are incredibly workers, fair priced, and do excellent work. Absolutely one of the best experiences we’ve ever had with a contractor! From start to finish Roofing Systems of Hampton Roads proved why they are consistently rated the highest of all roofing companies in our area. Our initial call was with Heather who was very welcoming and patiently answered all of our questions. From there, Jeremy came out to look at our roof and provided us with a well rounded list of options for both price and quality for us to chose from. We were so taken with how professional this process started out that we looked no further for estimates. This was our contractor. Roof installation was flawless! We were told to expect crews at our home at 7 a.m. They pulled up at exactly that time and worked tirelessly, in 104 degree heat, to complete the job. The crew was extremely professional and they were a happy crew! So important when you have anyone working on your home is that they are happy. Our home and flowerbeds were protected by tarps and they had someone constantly making certain that any roofing materials (old shingles, nails, paper) were quickly collected and properly disposed of. Our yard was cleaner when they left! Communication was seamless throughout the entire process. Every question answered. Every phone call returned. I can wholeheartedly recommend Roofing Systems of Hampton Roads to anyone looking to replace their roof or to have them do any work on their home.

J. Montes Inc. went out of their way, above and beyond, to help me with Hurricane Isaias damage to the roof of my home. I called them, and only them, the day of the storm when the giant branch hit my roof and punctured through into my attic. I called them because they helped me before with roof repairs after Hurricane Matthew. I got a response back the very same day by Heather with an appointment several days away due to others needing help and that was fine, I was sure others had worse damage than we had. However, I didn’t realize how big the hole was and how much water was starting to come in. I called back the next day, explained that if it all possible we would appreciate an earlier appointment with rain coming the next day, all day. She came through with a visit the SAME day I called and Jeremy came through with a fair price and sending a repair tech the SAME day I called. I’m sure the very friendly and expedient repair tech that came to start the repair around 7 PM was working late as well to come through for a customer in a time of need. I will always call them for my roofing issues and you should too!

Where to begin. If you're looking for top notch, professional service for roofing and exterior needs, J Montes Inc/ Roofing Systems of Hampton Roads are ones to highly consider. Heather and Jeremy were extremely responsive and kind throughout the whole process, they definitely put the needs of the customer up front. Their communication was consistent and informative and they guided us through the process and helped to make informative decisions with their team's knowledge base. During the performance of the installation of the roof, the workers and PM were very friendly, punctual, and communicative. John the PM gave us advance notice on when they planned to stage the repair and setup accordingly. Geronimo the lead foreman and his team are industrious! They started early and finished the next day, and even worked through a light rain shower. I'd definitely approach them again for any future exterior roof or roof line repairs.

I dealt with Heather, the office Manager to John the project manager and the wonderful roofers who gave us a beautiful new roof. It was so refreshing to deal with a company that WILL return a phone call, answer questions, and keep me notified every step of the way. I was treated like a valued customer with much respect from all who work here. The roofing crew worked like a "fine oiled machine" from start to finish. The roofers started on a Friday when the weather was beautiful and 70 degrees. Of course, only in Tidewater, the next day would be 38 degrees and raining, but, lo and behold, they were back to finish the job. They are all very pleasant folks to work with!! We found Jon on the internet, as a certified roofer from Certainteed, and he did our estimate. Then a friend at work recommend "another" roofer because he was extremely impressed. Turns out it was Jon, go figure. So we hired him for our roof.

As a Registered Architect / Construction Manager I've inspected many roof jobs over the past 38 years in the business, and it is very rare for me not to find something for the punchlist. So, I don't hand out praise easily, but this company impressed me.

Communication is good, but there were some bumps in what we wanted, but they were professional, and it was worked out. We also had one other issue during the installation, but, again, we negotiated a satisfactory solution. Simply put, if you have a problem, they will work with you.

I only interviewed firms that used high-quality roof systems and that had received excellent reviews. I met with Jon Montes at my house and he thoroughly explained the materials they would be using and how the job would be carried out. Since he was familiar with homes in my neighborhood, he was able to print a quote and leave it with me that day. He was responsive when I called with a few questions. Then I was put in touch with Heather, who scheduled the job and provided regular communications throughout as the day of the job approached. A couple of days before the job I was contacted by John, the project manager. John explained the way things would go to complete the job. The morning of the job, John was on site with the materials the crew would need to start. The crew then showed up and got to work. They worked well together — it was obvious they had done a lot of jobs together. They worked until 9 pm the came back the next morning and completed the job by 11 am. A roof replacement results in a lot of stuff (old shingles and underpayment, and hundreds of nails) falling in the yard and flowerbeds. When the crew completed the cleanup, however, you couldn’t tell they had been there — except for the beautiful, new roof!

I am happy to provide this review because J Montes, Inc delivered the product they promised at a price that beat the other firms I interviewed. In one week, I have already recommended them to two people that saw their sign in my yard and asked me about them. If you need roof work, you won’t go wrong with J Montes.

Wonderful, wonderful experience. Out of 3 different companies we asked for an estimate, this was the most affordable and easiest/friendliest to schedule with. The same day an estimate was requested, the owner was personally out there to provide one for us within the hour. I personally loved that he didn’t put any pressure on us to make a decision or “talk us into” the job. He simply gave us the estimate (offered to help put back a piece of siding (that had just fallen off the day before) before he left, and showed us our options. He told us he looked forward to hearing from us if we chose to go ahead with them. Nothing more nothing less. I love that! The roof was quickly done in one day and we love love love the outcome with our charcoal black architectural shingles. Our gutters badly needed to be cleaned and they had cleaned them out for us when the job was all done! Would highly recommend to anyone.

EXTREMELY good customer service in all aspects from initial contact for quote to finish of job. Very responsive and friendly. Went out of way to bring out actual samples. Roof was done in two days and looks excellent! Cleanup was equally as impressive - no signs such a job had even been done. No trash, no damage to landscape, etc. Would highly recommend J Montes to anyone.

I had heard nothing but positive things about this company. Even had family members giving great reviews. I requested that they check my roof on a rental property for a leak and give me an estimate on a new roof. I advised them I would try to have my tenant there to allow them to get in the attic and check that as well. They went out, never knocked on the door or tried to contact the tenant. Then wanted to charge $150 to go back out and complete a job they wouldn't do on the first trip.
Sorry but I'll take my business elsewhere if that's how you work.

Replaced 28 year old roof. Lower priced companies had large quality difference; higher priced had VERY little difference in quality. I made the right choice! Didn't have to wait long over holidays to start work and they were done in a day and a half. Workers very diligent and cleaned up well too. Very stress free.

I thought I had a leaky roof(masonry issue instead), but this company is so sought after I couldn't get an estimate for a couple weeks. Fast-forward two weeks, and a gentleman shows up for my estimate that I, unfortunately, didn't need any more. I felt awful about forgetting to cancel, but the gentleman couldn't have been more affable and understanding. If I ever need a roof-related repair, they will be at the top of my list!

So I've actually hired Jon's company twice. The first time was years ago when I needed to replace a rubber membrane section near the back of my house. The latest job was a full roof replacement of the main house. Just so you know... my house isn't just any house. It's a century old historical home that needed to look sharp b/c grant money was riding on this roof replacement. So I had to hire roofers that I trust to get the job done right. That's why I went back to Jon's crew---not surprisingly, the new roof looks great and will hopefully stand up to many coastal storms!
