Dylan Carson is the most professional and respectful person to work with on any project you need to have done. He handles everything to perfection and takes care of everything as well as taking the stress away. I would definitely recommend Dylan and his company for any projects you need help with.

Had two roof claims per insurance in that peach of an ice storm recently. Sermat was ON IT on both claims. Moved quickly, were considerate and communicative and did a great job. Couldnt be happier.

After experiencing several disappointing experiences with general contractors in our area, we were pleasantly surprised by Sermat Construction Services. Dylan has been an exceptional representative throughout a restoration process that followed a severe leak in the home. Unlike other contractors who required leaving multiple messages to address our inquiries, Dylan promptly responded to our calls and provided timely answers.
Addionally the work was completed in a timely manner and we are very happy with the results.

We are currently considering another project in our home and will undoubtedly reach out to Sermat when we are ready to proceed.

I had a fire at my home in April of 2024, the absolute worst nightmare of my life. My whole house was ruined. Ryan S. Was assigned to my project and he made all my worries a ton lighter!!!!! He was there with me every step of the way from answering every phone call no matter what time, answering all my questions, giving me good detailed time frames, arriving to my home promptly on time, and even helping me pick out applicances to move back in because that too was stressful for me, lol. I really enjoy the pride and dedication he put into his job, once he told me one thing I no longer had to worry, I KNEW it would be taken care of! Overall a 10/10, I highly recommend Sermat Construction to everyone!!! Keep up the great work Ryan S. and team, I truly love my new home !!!

We used Sermat when we had an insurance claim on a house we were preparing to sell. Ryan Schroeder was fabulous to work with. He communicated well and worked hard to help us get all of the repairs completed as quickly as possible. All of the work was well done and I would highly recommend Sermat, and especially Ryan!

In December 2024 I had 2 major plumbing leaks that caused significant damage to my living room ceiling and carpet. I was referred to Sermat by my insurance company to provide the repairs. Sermat quickly sent Ryan Schroeder out to assess the damage and provide and estimate of repairs. Ryan provided his business card and cell phone number if I had any questions about the project. Once the project was about to start it was handed off to another employee that wasn't as responsive to my questions and provide me with a scattered timeline of repairs. I called the main line of the company and voiced my concerns to Ryan who quickly took over and provided me with a detailed timeline via email for each day and a window of time of when the contractors would arrive and how many days the repairs would take. Even after voicing my concern about the original project manager he called to ensure that the original manager followed up with me. I am really happy with the quality of work that each contractor provided to repair my home. It took about 1 week for the actual repairs to be made. My living room looks beautiful. Most of the contractors that arrived were friendly and introduced themselves before entering. I really appreciate Ryan's customer service and excellent communication. Ryan actually checked in to see how the progress was going and he typically responded within 24 hours or less to any questions I had. This is the first time I experienced scheduling any major repairs in my home and it can be a stressful situation.
Read the reviews and ask questions and ask for Ryan if possible. Ask the project manager who and what time the teams will arrive at your home so you are not opening your door to random people not in a Sermat company vehicles or just sitting at home waiting without an ETA. Thank you Semat for repairing my living room!

Tried for over two months to get assistance from Sermat in fixing a leak in my house. Contractors failed to call me back for weeks on end. I called every couple days to try and get a call, email or even text back. But it was pulling teeth to get any response, and the times they did contact me it was rude and dismissive unwilling to help me. I will never contact Sermat again for help and I recommend you don’t. If they delete this review I will repost it.

While under contract to sell our home, we were hit with a massive flood 4 days prior to closing. Dylan took on the job and in 2 months he moved as fast as he could to get the major repairs executed while not compromising quality of work. In the end, I’m so happy how it turned out, but also relieved to have the whole thing behind us! Dylan was always ready to answer questions, help us with minor hiccups, and always returned calls in a timely manner. Ryan also came in to save the day at the very end so we could get invoices paid ASAP in order to close on the home!

This experience has been the worst. After a house fire our house had to be reconstructed. The LPV foors looks awful. The manufacturer came out in March to inspect the floors to determine if the gapping is a manufacturer defect or installer error. It's now September and we still havent heard from Sermat with the results. I've reached out to Ryan Haskell at least 5 times via phone and email. I will continue to call until I get answers!! But this is extremely unprofessional. In addition our hot water keeps going out. We litteraly have had to pay plumbers to re-light the polit at least 12 times. And to add our brand new washing machine was stolen that we bought and had to be replaced. Stay far far away from this company!!

This post is a combination post to criticize the post by Olivia Gilliam (Tenant) and my dealings (homeowner) with Sermat.
On 9/7/23 a tree feel through the roof of my home and destroyed attic , roof, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and the hallway.
To address MS Gilliam's comment of "Do NOT use this company! Between TERRIBLE communication, lack of timely progress, and MULTIPLE STOLEN ITEMS! Expensive electronic items stolen from my children."
1. MS Gilliam was the tenant at my house and Sermat wasn't responsible to report to her anything concerning the progress of the re-build of MY home.
2. Sermat's people were in communication with me in CA or my POC in VA who wasn't MS Gilliam.
3. With over $130,000 dollars worth of damage, NO reputable company would have things completed in 2 months. Especially with the amount of water damage in the house. Due to the major storm that went threw VA causing damage for a multitude of homeowners, it was understandable Sermat people were dealing with a lot.
4. The house had a large hole in the roof and was open to the elements for a few days. This was a separate company from Sermat that removed the tree and tarped the roof.
5.As for stolen items from MS Gilliam, she was told due to multiple contractors going inside the house, No one can say who supposedly stole her children's items. To lay blame on Sermat is uncalled for. There were about 10 different contract companies going in and out of the house doing work.
Also, MS Gilliam was told to file a police report since she nor I knew who supposedly took the items.
Due to the amount of water damage in the house, I told Sermat to dispose of all water damaged items in the house. This would have included any and all electronics that appeared to be water damaged.
6. Due to the house being uninhabitable from 9/7/23 to 4/15/24 MS Gilliam was no longer a tenant living in the house and wasn't given permission to be in the house during this time period.

Advice to people renting any type of structure to live in. Make sure you have renters insurance. DON'T rely on the home owner's insurance to cover your items in the rented location.

Sermat did right by me. Yes there were times when communications was slow and that was due to me being in CA and Sermat in VA.
I would highly recommend Sermat to re-build your home if you ever have any type of damage.
My finished home is beautiful. Yes it took time but Rome wasn't built in a day.

Sermat Construction Services is a top-notch, well run contractor service. My garage was damaged in a storm, and Ryan Haskell came to the house, wrote the estimate, and worked with the insurance company. He took extra steps along the way to ensure the repair was done correctly and with the right materials. I would highly recommend them a general contracting services and I plan on doing so again in the future.

Overall this experience was a rollercoaster that I'm glad has come to an end. The initial communication was superb, until the work began. I wasn't given clear communication in a timely fashion. I didn't like knowing the next step or not being involved until something was already done. For example, if you plan to install the accessories in the bathroom let me know ahead of time so I can let you know the best place for it in my bathroom. The floor installation looks incredible! They did an outstanding job on that. I was terribly disappointed that the extra flooring was removed from my home without my permission. The company in the long run, compensated for the missing floors. Also the job took longer than the contracted date. I'm happy with the finished job, but it was a stressful process getting it done. Perhaps the team can work on effective communication.

Tentatively giving a rating of 4 as we have been to their offices and dealt with one of their representatives. They began construction work in our home the second week of September 2023. I will update my experience and rating of the company after they have completed work.

I agree with another reviewer in that Sermat Construction is top notch. I could not be more satisfied with my experience and their professionalism and quality of work.

They completed a job for me about nine months ago and the work was awful after 3 months toilet was leaking after nine months floor was coming up in living room, kitchen and hall and bathroom .Ryan H is very rude and unprofessional and if u do hire them go by and take pictures every day cause they do not do a good job and do the cheapest way they can to get a job done also will bill twice as much as estimate is ...

There was water damage to my place of business. Sermat came in after I requested the services of ServPro. More than eight months later the repairs have not been completed. Before they even completed the repairs the flooring was already buckling. They have been apprised of the problem yet they have done nothing to remedy the problem and have the audcity to request that I certify that the work was done to my satisfaction. I have also used them for damage to my home with the same result--poor quality work, no follow-up. Buyer beware!!

Sermat did a great job from beginning to end. They were timely, the work was great and they left our house/roof clean. We would absolutely use them again!

Ryan Haskell is extremely professional and easy to talk to/explain things to. He has a good eye for detail and makes sure that the teams on the project are doing their best work.
I appreciate, especially in our situation, how they went out of their way and sped up the project so that we could be back in our home for thanksgiving (a very rare find in the construction/reno industry).
Unfortunately, I have to add an update as I was shocked at the follow up after they were paid their final installment. I have some paint that was chipping off of multiple door and window frames from the paint work that was done. Ryan Haskell came by to check on the work and I have sent multiple email since then to see if they can fix it with no response. I have to say I am disappointed as they were so amazing at the beginning.

Had a pipe bust and Sermat came out the day of. Inspected the job and had employees there within 24 hours drying out the wet floors. They painted, and replaced my floor and tile in a promptly manner and were very easy to get in touch with throughout the whole process. Would deffinetly use them again.

My Aunt had water damage and Sermat Construction came highly recommended by her insurance after I told them I wanted them to only send their top rated service provider. Sermat did not disappoint. They kept me updated throughout the entire process. All work was completed in a timely manner and done within the budget established. There was a high level of professionalism dealing with the company and I was very pleased with all work performed. I will be referring them to other family members.

Extremely poor communication between company and client. Months could go by and no work was done on our garage, then suddenly as we were about to back our car out of garage there stood construction workers patching the cement floor - so we couldn’t get our car out. Also, it’s been 13 months and some of the work I asked them to finish still isn’t done (I give up!) and the bill still isn’t settled. Watch your bill!!!

This company is top notch satisfaction service. I had a water damage and had two construction companies come that USAA recommend. The first one was terrible. Then I called sermat constructions. All I can say is I will be using them for all my projects moving forward.
