Having wrangled with business tech and vendors throughout my firm’s 30 years, I know excellence when I see it. Straight away I knew I could trust them. Sure enough, they repaired my water-doomed smartphone. Their rare combination of cheeriness, tech acumen, and integrity will save you time and headaches. It’s also great to have a downtown place to visit with easy free parking. Remember that the best technicians aren’t magicians, so don’t expect miracles--in fact I was fully prepared to pay them even if they had failed to revive my water-soaked phone. It’s valuable and often a huge relief merely to know whether something is fixable. If it’s worth fixing, these folks have you covered.

I had them fix the HDMI port on my sons PS5. They said it would take a week or two because were backed up but it only took 3 days. Then it was stuck in safe mode and I didn't know if they were going to give me a hard time but they were very polite and took it back and fixed it in 4 hours. Then they turned it on there to show me it was working. I was very satisfied with the service they gave me and it was much better than buying a new PS5.

Great shop, extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff. I was told by friends that I was going to have to pay an arm and a leg for data recovery on a broken device, but Rubber Duck Tech Repair was able to fix it in a very reasonable time frame and at a reasonable price.

Twice since the fall of 2024 I have brought my Acer laptop to Rubber Duck because it looked to me like it had died. Twice your technicians miraculously exhumed the body of my laptop from the grave and restored it to good health. The first time you did not charge me, but the second time I insisted that you charge me something. You complied with my request, but charged me only a measly $10. I was referred to you by the Greenfield Staples, where I bought the laptop. I would recommend you enthusiastically and without qualification to anyone with a computer problem. It's not just your magic with the machine, but your whole attitude about helping people, in a respectful way, with their computer issues. I wonder why there are not more businesses like you, but I'm most grateful to have you in downtown Greenfield. Thank you.

A true gem of a place. Dan couldn't be kinder, more patient, or more honest and fair. He's always down to entertain silly questions from people who know nothing about tech (me), he'll go out of his way to save you money, and if he makes a mistake he'll make it right. I always leave this place happier than when I walked in.

They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable of the issue I was dealing with and were able to resolve the issue and send me on my way.
I plan to contact them in the future whenever I have computer or cellphone issues.

My machine was under attack and I brought it to Dan at Rubber Duck and he was fantastic. He examined and diagnosed the problem and then fully explained what he needed to do to repair the situation. Although I am a very experienced computer user, (been working on PC's since 1985) Dan carefully explained everything in easy to understand English, (not in a condescending or arrogant tone) told me the approach that he would like to use, what parts I would need (a new hard drive), and gave me firm return date for my system. (which he upheld)

He was thorough, competent and kind, and the prices were incredibly fair. I had my system back in two days, and upon pick up, he fully explained everything that he did, again in very easy to understand terms, and discussed with me how I could prevent the problem from happening again in the future.

This was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend Rubber Duck Computer Repair to anyone, especially people who have little or no knowledge of the computer inner workings. This is the first time in 40 years that I have had to have someone else take care of a computer issue, so I admit I was a bit leery of having somebody else work on my system. I came to Rubber Duck to get my Ps5 fixed for an HDMI port repair. I was told after paying $170 that my ps5 would be fixed in a few days. Fast forward, I didn’t end up getting my ps5 back for a month. I emailed every week, just asking how the repair was going. I was continuously lied to and told it would be fixed with in the next few days numerous times until it took over a month. thats however not the main problem. Two days after getting the PlayStation fixed, the hdmi port began not working again, which tells me it was never fully fixed. I have now emailed the guy three more times since it’s been broken and have received no response as I’m sure it is because of the fact the guy knows he’d have to fix it for free. Completely wasted my time and money as I’ve now not been able to use the PlayStation in months and will have to pay another $150 to get it fixed somewhere else. At this point it would’ve been cheaper to have boughten another ps5.

Went in with what I thought was going to be a real issue. They looked it over, "easy fix"..Ya sure maybe for them..lol. Out the door I went extremely Happy with the service..

Knowledgeable, amiable, and eager to help. Took my reMarkable tablet in because I had dropped it and had a jammed power button. They had not serviced one of these tablets, but took the time to research it and work on a fix. Got it back in great shape, with a very reasonable price. Thanks Dakota!

Very impressed with Rubber Duck Tech Repair. Dan is super friendly and very honest. Brought in my phone for a broken screen and later for a microphone issue. Had to order the parts, which came in the next day. Got an email saying the parts were in and went in the next day and phone is good as new. One satisfied first- and second-time customer. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Dan got my new out-of-the-box ipad up and running perfectly. I did not have to do a thing to start exploring and enjoying my new device. He included everything I wanted and was so patient and knowledgeable in answering all my questions. I left feeling totally confident I could navigate my first ipad. Brought a MacBook laptop in for new battery and new speakers; repair was very reasonably priced, and they are much, much easier to deal with than the folks at the Apple store!

Update 1 week later: after receiving my laptop back from 5 days at Rubber Duck, the speakers (which they were replacing) did not work, and the keyboard backlighting (which was working when they received my laptop) was not working. Obviously, someone had not tested it after they repaired it, or they would have heard that the speakers weren't producing any sound. I took it back first thing the next workday, a Monday, and they told me one or two days to get it fixed. It's now been four days and I have yet to get my repaired laptop back.

Final update: OK, the early going had its rough spots, but Daniel, the shop's owner, met with me and listened while I vented my frustration with the repair process. Then he explained how he wanted to make things right for me. He and his workers then proceeded to do exactly what he promised, and now I have my laptop back and fully functional again.

Bottom line: I would go here again with a piece of equipment needing repair. I think Daniel is an honest business person, trying his best to repair your equipment and give some kids a job in the process. He deserves your business.

Amazing customer service and communication. Very reliable and trustworthy. Answered every and all of my questions while even providing some great banter and jokes along as well. If you are looking for some quality service these people will do amazing.

I was more than satisfied. Very thoughtful and creative. I'm fairly old school, still using iTunes/CDs/iPods and wanted Dan to modify my newer computer to meet those needs. However, Dan immediately suggested upgrading my older computer.

This place is awesome. After traveling and calling around to multiple places with no luck, Dan squeezed me into a last minute appointment on a Friday to replace a badly damaged iPhone 11 screen. I found the place on a Google search. Very personable owner and staff. Transparent about pricing. Diligent with discounts and warranties. They bent over backwards to make the customer experience great, and gave me a freshly 3D-printed duck to boot. (I mean it - Dan has a 3D printer running at all working hours right behind the desk, printing an endless supply of ducks). Phone fix was flawless, and they’ve earned a lifetime customer. Residents of Greenfield - prepare for something massive and inflatable and yellow to display on the curb of Elm Street.

If you have a cracked iPhone screen, or any problem for that matter, go here before driving all the way to Springfield. Very professional and very honest. He’s upfront with you and he’ll let you know if he can either fix it or not. I would highly recommend trying this place out, and it’s local right in Greenfield. Thanks.

I brought my crushed Google Pixel 6 in, not working at all; and even during the days surrounding Xmas, Daniel had my phone beautifully repaired so wonderfully and efficiently within just a few days. I have not had to pay for any work here as they have not charged me the 2 times I came in for help. My phone stopped working and the owner spent 1/2 hour trying to get it up and running. The screen was shot and it was cheaper to buy a new phone. The second time I came in to get help inserting the micro storage into the new phone. Again, lots of help at no charge. Where can you find that kind of service? I did buy the micro storage and a charging bank from him. Power to you at SFE Tech Repair. You are awesome.

Very good work done on my 11 year old Maingear laptop. Chris and Dan make a wicked smart and experienced team! Brought operating system and virus programs up to date, removed literally thousands of junk files, etc. The computer starts up faster, desktop is neater with crud removed. No unexpected surprises. And a 20% discount on some worthy new cables, chargers and a power bank with most recent technologies for 30 days after picking up the computer. worth the cost of the overhaul.

For the first time in my life, I cracked a phone screen. I was worried I would lose all of my pictures of my daughter and in panic mode. Dan not only immediately was able to calm me down, but was also able to ensure I didn't lose any information from my phone. He was also able to put it all to my new phone. While talking with Dan I realized he could also be a great resource for my company and booked a printing job as well. I couldn't ask for a more personable, honest person to help me when I was vulnerable. Highly recommend

SFE Tech Repair is Very knowledgeable and friendly. I recommend Dan to anyone that has Tech issues. Or if you just need something explained to you. There is so much to know!

The smoothest and most pain-free pc setup experience, even as the old pc was acting up. I am using my new pc now; all the data, settings and programs have been transferred with no hiccups.

Well, after a few days I began to see the problems:

(1) All my Gmail labels are empty. SFE Tech said transferring labels is hit-or-miss, and implied I should have used folders instead of labels, declining to accept any responsibility. Funny thing is, Google says "In other mail programs you might use folders, but you use labels in Gmail to organize your emails." I had asked SFE Tech to do a complete data backup first. If they had done that, or created an archive for these emails, this loss would not have happened.

(2) Windows search cannot find documents. Again, SFE Tech said this function was hit-or-miss. They did offer to install a program that would replace Windows search, which I appreciated. However, I have has a number of settings and data transfer from an old pc to a new one. and never had this problem.

(3) In doing the restore from system image, they replaced a newer Office product on the new pc with an older version of Office that was on the old pc. I had informed them that I had the newer version of Office on the new pc. Somehow, somebody thought this was not relevant information. When I asked if they would re-load the version I wanted, I got a refusal that started with "As explained earlier...." -- well, it was not explained. However, I had explained what I wanted, which fell through cracks in their internal communications, which they refused to acknowledge.

They asked me to bring in the pc and promised to do what they could, but at the same time, refused to be accountable for any of these problems.

Given all this, I cannot recommend SFE Tech.

Dan and crew were helpful to a fault and indulged my frustrations at everything everywhere all at once where iPhone was supposedly lost on a hike, needing replacement (supposedly), my Master card was suspended due to inexplicable fraud, a second house phone on Vonage decided not to work, a three mile hike retracing steps to find what seemed like the most likely spot to lose it, and, after running Dan through setting up a sale of a new phone today, nearly a WEEK later, thus in my peregrinations today stopped at the gas station at the Greenfield circle, and, while filling the tank happened to look up and spotted the phone on the roof of the car, just about to fall off. If magic has any currency in our physical world, it must have decided I had gone through enough and deserved to be rewarded and surprised with a happy ending. Rubber Duck Tech patiently answers questions to which anyone familiar computers would know the answer (note: I know very little about computers) like: what do you call the video cable from my computer with 15 pins? or How come my sound doesn't work when I put an HDMI adapter on my VGA cable? AND they tell me how to save money on my computer repair.

Very prompt and clear explanations for technical repairs and maintenance for cell phones and computers alike. Will be returning whenever IT issues arise.
