If I could leave less than zero, I would. Horrible experience with a 1973 MGB that sat there for almost a year. Supply chain issues the common refrain. When I had the car towed back to my house unrepaired, it was covered with pine needles and sap. The condescending attitude that I was subjected to as a woman, was highly unprofessional and rude.

We were passing through Greenfield on a Sunday en route to Boston and stopped for lunch. Our battery was dead when we returned to our car. AAA jumpstarted the car and we drove to the local AutoZone, which was open on Sunday. We purchased a new battery, but the service tech wasn’t able to figure out how to remove the old battery. We consulted family members with local knowledge and they recommended Greenfield Auto Specialists. We left our car on their lot late in the day Sunday, stayed over nearby and called them when they opened at 8am Monday. We made our way there Monday morning, and they immediately replaced the battery and we were on our way in less than an hour. Incredibly nice and professional team. I recommend them highly.

I really love these guys. We've been taking our BMW diesel and our Toyota Prius there for years. We keep going back because they are competent, professional mechanics and most importantly, I trust them.

Came in desperate with oil light on and Meineky having said they wouldn't touch my foreign car. They looked quickly, found an improper seal and were able to get me on my way in short order and at a very fair price (basically the cost for the oil). These are good folk and I only wish they were where I live because I'd use them all the time. They treated this out of towner like someone who had been going there for years.

If you own a foreign car in Franklin county, this is a great place for service and repair.

I bought a Honda CRV here this week. I worked with John who was honest, a great communicator, and made the entire process as quick and painless as it could be. I can’t say enough good things about this place and I look forward to coming back to them for routine maintenance with this car!

Mixed feelings— When replacing a leaking blow-off valve on my VW, they put on an outdated OEM part which is known to fail (rubber diaphragm tears as seen in photo). I ended up purchasing the manufacturer's updated, piston style version once the replacement tore. For the level of knowledge the shop seems to have it seems a little sketchy I was outfitted with an outdated part. Had some other work done after their DV replacement and it was satisfactory.

The sign says it and it's true: straightforward. I bought a car from these guys early last year, and they have become my go-to shop for service, too. Consistently respectful, friendly, knowledgeable, and no-pressure. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

Greenfield Auto Specialists is a fantastic business. Customer service is top-notch. Very very experienced mechanics. In addition to car repair and car sales, they offer snow tire storage during the winter months. Straight forward pricing and diagnostics. Family owned business that takes pride in their services. Eleven years ago, we moved away from our expert international car mechanic with my low-mileage, rather cool ‘95 VW Cabrio. Given its vintage, optimal maintenance requires superlative experience, know-how, and the ability to source rare parts. GAS embodies all of that.
In my decades of owning older international cars, including a Renault and a Peugeot (for some random reason), another quality that sets GAS above most is their conscientiousness to foresee and clearly inform customers what will need addressing in the near future. GAS seems to care about customers’ road safety—and budgets—as they would their own family members.

I have all my cars serviced here and they do a great job. They seem to find the sources of problems relatively easily on older cars. Good communication and they tell me what is wrong/what needs to be done. Friendly and knowledgeable people. Highly recommended checking this place out, especially if you have odd or older cars that need work done.

The most kind and trustworthy people. I've bought two cars from them and gotten my cars repaired here since like 2016. Whether you buy a car here or get your car serviced here, you are guaranteed to be in good hands. They're straight forward and extremely fair. I have never written a review before and probably won't ever again, but it's worth it to give these guys two big thumbs up.

John and Bill went above and beyond to assure my car was in great hands. Their communication is superb and their commitment to provide a top notch service is exceptional.

Had a train horn installed on my truck. Already had the onboard air/tank in place and just had these guys mount the horns/run the air lines and electric. 1 1/2 days and 500+ dollars later the power line was dangling into the front wheel well and the air line into the tank was leaking. Secured the electric and re-ran/tightened the air line myself.

They did let me take a loaner overnight which was nice of them and where pleasant to deal with but, I could have done a better job in half the time.... Live and learn.

These guys were who I trusted when I needed something done proper. Always were really fair even if a bit pricey, got what I paid for. Recently got my car towed there as it was having an issue. When I talked to them they were great gave me a quick quote an I left it to 'em. Turns out we had a bit of a miscommunication an they ended up charging me 2.5X the original quote. I had a quick convo with the guy who gave me the quote; apologetic an seemed to genuinely feel bad about it. I went to pay the full amount because things happen.

Here is the reason for the 1star review: As I'm putting my card in the machine guy behind the counter says "You know nothing you say is gonna change those numbers." Legit everything had been super civil up to this point. I was so appalled. I didn't even know how to respond it was so rude.

TLDR; miscommunication at garage cost me 2.5X what I had expected, wouldn't have been a big deal if while paying other person hadn't been so rude.

All the staff are great!!!! They are always ready to explain and help. We've been using them 2008 and will not leave.

I brought my Audi into Greenfield Auto Specialists (GAS) this week for a pesky "check engine" light that my other repair shop could not fix. Jonathan was EXTREMELY polite and helpful , connected my car to a computer and read the codes. I made an appointment for next Monday, and since Jonathan is a neighbor, he offered to pick the car up and bring it in. I also test drove a LOVELY Volvo XC70...no pressure to sell the car to me. This is a family owned and operated business, and it shows! I am grateful to have found them.

My only disappointment with the whole service experience is there were only three(3) Alfas and one(1) Jaguar station wagon in your lot.

Attentive, thorough, and no bull. I brought my 2002 Honda CRV in for major repairs: struts, ball joint, sway bars, links. They handled everything in one day. I went back because I was still hearing a shaking sound, and they replaced the brake fluids free of charge. GAS is on the pricier side of things, but they will take good care of you and stand by their work. You will have to schedule a week or two in advance, but the work will be done quickly.

Always courteous, helpful and thorough. I appreciate that they explain what needs doing and why, as well as offering options when possible. Because I drive to New Jersey fairly often and on rough local back roads, I appreciate their taking care that my car remains as reliable and safe as possible. They have done that for the past 20 years.

If you need a particular part for an older European imported car, this place probably has what you need. I have been able to get the parts I need and the best part was that I didn't have to wait for delivery. This place really is awesome.

My car had been through the mud and was shaking and shimmying like crazy as I was driving along the highway. It was a bit frightening and I was very concerned and worried that I was going to need an alignment, even though I had just had one before hitting the mud. My husband called John Loeb at Greenfield Auto Specialists on a Saturday afternoon as I was driving from Vermont to Massachusetts and described my problem. John knew exactly what the problem was and told my husband to send me in. He came right out to greet me as I pulled in, welcomed me by name and told me just what needed to be done. Within a few minutes he had me back on the road and feeling safe in my car again without a long and costly repair! And on a Saturday to boot! I would highly recommend Greenfield Auto Specialists!

My car broke down and they took it right away. The price ended up being less than the initial estimate they gave me. My car is an older BMW as well, some might have said they couldn't service it or didn't have the parts. So, these guys delivered.

Awesome service, professional, friendly and very trustworthy! We ran into car problems on our way to VT when we stopped in Greenfield, MA. It was on a Saturday afternoon and the few places we stopped at to get help were either closed or getting ready to close. We came upon Greenfield Auto a few minutes before they were closing and John was more than happy to help us out with a unique problem concerning the retractable hardtop on our BMW. He was patient and fixed the issue within 20 minutes with professionalism and turned our panicked situation completely around where we could continue our trip up north. Last year my son was in the market to buy a used car. He is an engineer and a car geek and knew exactly what he wanted. He found John at Greenfield Auto Specialists and told him what he wanted. Well John found the exact car he wanted. My son often talked about the fair price he paid and what they did to make the deal work.
Well as the story goes..... My wife needed a car to replace her old and tired one. It just so happens that I drive by Greenfield Auto Specialists almost every day. I had noticed a very nice Volkswagen CC and took it for a test drive, and my wife loved it. John and I talked about a few repairs that I thought the car needed and to my surprise they fixed and replaced everything we had talked about for free. They were minor things but I truly think that their philosophy of making the customer happy, really came through. I even looked up the fair market value of the car and their price was very fair. With everything they did for us I really didn't mind seeing them make some money for their effort. I would really recommend checking out their cars and going through the Greenfield Auto Specialists car buying experience!

With an older foreign car, I appreciate consistently practical advice and wisdom about repairs--items that matter and items that do not. I like their knowledge of my brand of car, all the variations by year in great detail. Every repair is explained; every cost known in advance. There have been many times I could have been told I needed expensive repairs I didn't really need and I find a level of honesty that is unusual, in my experience. Helpfulness and attention to detail is A+. Have had repairs at many places over the years for this same make car and these folks are the best. So glad they are in Greenfield.
