Avoid Service Department
My wife made an appointment to get her belts replaced due to a squeak. She made the appointment to replace the belts (she explained to them on the phone that she knew what the noise was and wanted the belts replaced as she has had the issue in the past, the attendant that took the appointment was the same one and confirmed to me and the manager that she was specific about the appointment) and brought the vehicle in to have the work done. When called to get her vehicle she was told that the belts needed to be replaced as well as the pinion seal. No work had been completed at this time. She was charged $140 for a diagnostic fee and then had to leave to make it to work.
She later scheduled an appointment for the following week to have the pinion seal replaced, and I now had time to replace the belts myself, so she told them she just wanted them to do the pinion seal. She was also told that the pinion seal would be done under warranty, and we wouldn't have to pay anything (this was not the case when the diagnostic was done). We drop her car off this morning to have the pinion seal replaced and receive a call later and were told that the pinion seal was not replaced but they went ahead and replaced the belts and that's all we would have to pay for.
When we got back to the dealership, I went in and was told they were not going to charge us for the belts. I asked them why we were originally charged for the diagnostic fee at the original appointment, even though the appointment was specifically for the belts being replaced? No real answer, the manager just beat around the bush stating that we have to be very specific when making an appointment. I asked how my wife could be more specific? She made an appointment to have the belts changed. I then asked, well how was my pinion seal bad last week but now it's fine? How were you going to try and charge my wife almost $350 to do a pinion seal and then when asked about it, it is covered under warranty. Then when the vehicle is brought back to have the work done, it no longer needs to be done. I was then told that "you have your key, you can leave" by the manager, so I left.
During this entire conversation I was also told how unpleasant my wife was multiple times. I'm pretty sure anyone would be unpleasant if they were getting screwed out of $140. I most likely seemed unpleasant as well during the conversation.
