Tried to give another Jeep dealership a 3rd try at keeping us as customers. Shame on me!!! The sales manager was a COMPLETE JOKE! Pulled a bait & switch maneuver on us. Over-promised & under-delivered! True slimey cars salesman mentality. Buyer beware! Jeep used to be a name I respected. Not anyone!

Extremely Disappointed with “Certified” Truck Purchase

My boyfriend purchased a 2019 Ram from this dealership in January of 2025. It was labeled Certified Pre-Owned, which supposedly means it passed a thorough 100+ point inspection. Unfortunately, our experience has shown that this “certification” didn’t mean much.

Right after driving off the lot, within half a mile, the check engine light came on for a misfire. We had no choice but to drive it home since the dealership had already closed, and we live 40 minutes away. The check engine light would come and go, and our code reader showed multiple error codes—not something you’d expect from a CPO vehicle!!!

When we reached out to the salesperson, he told us to drive it until the light came back on. While he was helpful overall during the sale, but in the end still disappointed. Just days later, we brought the truck back in. My boyfriend had barely driven it, trying to protect the warranty mileage. The dealership kept the truck for about 3 weeks.

Once we finally got it back, a new code popped up immediately. We were understandably over it. We asked them to take the vehicle back, but they claimed we were outside the 30-day window—even though THEY had the truck for nearly 3 weeks alone. Their “buyback” offer was thousands less than what was paid, even though it had hardly been driven.

Now it’s June, and the truck suddenly won’t start. That alone shows the inspection process was either skipped or done poorly.

We accept that we rushed the purchase, but the dealership absolutely failed to provide the quality and reliability promised under the Certified Pre-Owned label. We’ve had multiple issues, long repair waits, and now a dead truck—all within just a few months.

If you’re considering buying a CPO vehicle from here, be cautious and double check everything yourself!! We expected more and got far less.

My truck was towed to this facility when it wouldn't start as it was still under full factory warranty. When I called to ask about the process I was told they may not even be able to look at my vehicle for up to a week when I asked about a loaner the service employee said I had to talk to the girls up front and transferred my call to an answering machine. After waiting about 3 hours for a call back, I called them again and was told that they are out of loaners and I should call enterprise and rent a car myself. I asked to be transfered to the service manager and was hung up on. I called again to get ahold of the service manager who told me the same thing. He said that there was nothing he would do for me and that I should call the dealer that I bought the truck from or call harry brown Chrysler to see if they wanted to help me. I called harry brown who picked my truck up the next morning, got a rental arrangement set up, and is getting my truck fixed. The communication alone was much quicker and more professional with Harry Brown.

My husband, sent the daughter for an oil change after he found some coupons on their website. He even printed them out, as they were listed under the "specials" section. However, when she arrived, they told her the coupons were a scam and invalid. Instead of honoring the coupons, they pressured her into purchasing a much more expensive oil change package.

This is really poor customer service! If the coupons aren't valid, they should be removed from the website to avoid misleading customers. FYI- the coupons are still on the website!

Excellent Customer Service! We bring our vehicle to the service department and always get greeted promptly and with a smile. Then got us on our way quickly with a free shuttle ride home. We couldn't be more satisfied!

I scheduled service with them on my vehicle. I was told they were 2 weeks out. That's fine I said and awaited the appointment. I arrived 30 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment at which time they asked me is I needed a ride to which I said if you'll take me back to my home (21 miles away) yes. They would not go that far. I thought this unfortunate but fine I'll wait the approximately 4 to 5 hours the service would take and went to their service waiting area. After about 4.5 hours I went to see where they were at with the vehicle as no one has approached me while several others had come and gone ( I understand that oil changes etc. are faster than the services I needed). I found after waiting in their waiting area they had not even started. I will never use this dealership for anything in the future despite it being one of the closest Dodge dealers and my having purchased my most recent Dodge there and having several others. Somewhat relieved that I resisted the temptation to talk about replacing my 2019 purchased there with a 2022 from there. I will do it elsewhere

March 2020; we worked with Dave Strand and made an appointment with a plan to purchase same day unless there were any red flags. Dave and team were great & accommodated my family with kids hanging out while they finished detailing & weren't pushy with warranty options for purchase. Appreciate their efficiency & friendliness!
Also - about a week after purchase, there was a battery issue -- I would've had to pay out of pocket almost $200, Dave & team took care of it without issue -- would purchase again from them, no hesitation!

False Advertising / Bait and Switch. Vehicle advertised for $53,000. Made an appointment the day before, drove over an hour (one way) to get there and told that the vehicle is actually priced at $62,000. Simple mistake they say. This is a 2020 vehicle with 2021 models now on the lot and sat on their lot how long? It was so dirty that it had to have been there for months. Wasted 3 hours and half a tank of gas.

Service writer was very friendly and helpful. Then the shuttle driver was efficient, friendly and professional. So far, I give the service department 5 stars. The oil change department not so much. Their staff are about as friendly as a wet mop.

I have bought several vehicles over the last 30 years and have never had a dealership go above and beyond like these guys. Hands down the best customer service I have ever had they found me the truck I wanted at a better price than my local dealer could even get close to and then delivered it to me so I didn’t have to take any time away from work and family. They did more over the phone than most dealers would consider doing if you were in there showroom begging for help. Definitely recommend.

My Dodge Ram 1500 has only 32000 miles on it, but because it was one month out of warranty and the service department indicated it was an issue related to the belt/pulley and not the engine, we had to pay out of pocket. I understand that part, but how they came to this conclusion without first doing a thorough investigation of the vehicle is beyond me. We brought the truck in and got a call back the next day. We were told the problem was identified and a pulley was replaced. All together we paid close to 400 dollars to replace a belt and pulley that weren't broken. We got the truck back, and about 10 miles down the road the truck was making the same noise. Obviously, the truck was NOT checked after the pulley was replaced. I called in to say it needed to come back in because the part they replaced was not bad, and the problem was not fixed. I was told that they wouldn't be able to get me back in for almost 2 1/2 weeks and that I would have to pay again for further services. When speaking to the service center, it seemed like they were trying to place blame on me. I told them it sounded squeaky like a belt, BUT I made it clear that at 32,000 miles I couldn't fathom why I would already be having issues with a belt or pulley and wanted it checked out. It seemed like they were eager to jump to identifying a problem that was not related to services that would still be covered under my warranty. I went to the dealer because I felt they had the knowledge and capabilities to diagnose and resolve the problem. I hoped that paying for a higher quality service would equal better results. Had they taken my vehicle back at no charge that day to check it again I would have let go of the whole 'replacing part's that are not broken problem.' I am a reasonable person. If this company were to reach out to me to help resolve my complaint and get a proper diagnosis of the problem, I would be glad to update my rating, but until that time I cannot endorse the services provided.

Bought a new 2019 Jeep limited. Will NOT purchase another car truck anything there again..The only thing that was a good experience. was my salesman Brian..he was awesome..as far as warranty work forget it. I had NO AIRBAGS FROM A WK AFTER PURCHASE I MYSELF CONTACTED THE CS at Chrysler to get that resolved faster .. Then was told quite a story on my oil change. And why they put change in 3000 miles when its synthetic .Oil..thats good till atleast 5-6000.....my next truck or Jeep will be from Waseca Chrysler no doubt!

I've been buying all my trucks here for 20 years. Always a great vehicle shopping experience. Less pressure than a lot of other dealers. They will give you a good solid deal. You might be able to run all over the place and find a dealer that will save you a few dollars, but it's easier and more worry free to just shop here.

I am not someone who typically leaves reviews, but I had such a great experience at Owatonna Motor Company. Salesman Mike Hamilton was extremely friendly and helpful. Him along with two other men made the process speedy and smooth. I was impressed with the amount of care and concern that this dealership had for my financing and getting me the best deal.
