Rapid Roofing - Canton, MI

I called Rapid Roofing for a potential service, but my experience was shockingly unprofessional. The person who answered the phone greeted me with a rude and sarcastic ‘hello,’ which immediately set a negative tone. When I hung up and tried calling back to speak with someone else, I discovered that I had been blocked—without any reason or explanation. This kind of customer service is completely unacceptable. If this is how they treat potential customers, I can only imagine how they handle actual roofing jobs. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for professionalism and respect.

Rapid Roofing is a very DISHONEST company. I hate writing this review, but I feel I have to warn other unsuspecting people. Although to an untrained eye, our new roof from Rapid Roofing at the time looked good, but now after only 9 years this roof has become a nightmare. This roof is so bad that it’s going to cost about 3X the cost of the original project to fix! The first problem we noticed was 2 severe watermarks in our family room, which are up to 6 now. After giving up dealing with Rapid Roofing, we hired a professional home inspector. Upon their inspection of the family room and roof, it was discovered, for starters, that Rapid Roofing clearly gave us 1/3 the ice and water shield than what we were quoted for and what we paid for. This inspector’s 37-page report went on to cite at least 8 additional serious roofing problems including lifted shingles, exposed nails, improper finishing around pipes and chimneys, depressed ridge vent, etc., etc., etc. Things got worse. Upon further inspection by another professional inspector, we discovered widespread mold in the attic which he said was undoubtedly caused by grossly inadequate venting. There were even drops of water at the end of rusty nails all over the attic. It’s a disaster. The roof needs to be completely taken off including the wood. Now, dealing with Rapid Roofing to address these issues has also been a nightmare. Their president set the pace by denying we were even a customer. Only when I threatened legal action to their receptionist did he finally return my call. When their customer service inspector eventually came out, he actually admitted that there was a big problem up there and that they [Rapid Roofing] blew it this time. He caulked about 10 different shingles at the time. I wished I had recorded his verbal summary. He assured me that this issue is completely covered by our warranty and they will get it fixed properly, either by them or by GAF (the product manufacturer). He said that he will write a report and submit it to GAF and should know something within 2 weeks. Despite repeated attempts, we never heard from him again. He moved to a different position within Rapid Roofing. We never received his report, if he ever wrote one. We finally got another one of Rapid Roofing’s inspectors out who promptly said that the other guy didn’t know what he was talking about. Then he went on to say there was nothing wrong with their job and the leaking issues in our family room were all caused by ice dams which are never covered by warranties. He said that if GAF will cover our ice dam problem they [Rapid Roofing] would do the repairs. Some lady from GAF called me to say that they’re not going to cover any costs and she would send me a report stating why not (which she never did). According to Rapid Roofing’s literature, they have a long list of credentials including being a “MasterElite” Contractor for GAF and received GAF’s “President’s Club” award. What a joke. In our opinion, Rapid Roofing is a very dishonest and deceptive company from top to bottom. Their workmanship is poor, and their word and lifetime warranty are worthless. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

This is by far the wort service I have ever received. We contacted Nick to come and look at a roof repair we needed, and he was quick to come out. He came out and tried to sell us on needing a whole new roof for a leak we had on our second floor, but said he would replace the capping "for now" and when we get approval from insurance he would come back and do the whole roof.

Cost us a "refundable" $200 estimate on the job which we never got back, and he kept ignoring our calls after the "job" was done. When he did answer he would tell us his secretary was just about to fax us the estimates to give to insurance. Weeks later still nothing.

On top of all of that, the very next wind storm pretty much every piece of capping came off the roof from the very poor job Nicks "guy" performed. Took forever to get in touch with him again to get it fixed, which he promised it would be.

Turns out he sent the guy back to put up the same garbage stuff, when we were not even home, and had no idea the guy had even been there.

We had to go with another roofing company to do the job correctly, and very glad we did, but not happy to be out the $2000 this guy scammed from us.

Oh and don't believe his whole "Google Guaranty" garbage. If you didn't find him through Google they wont care either so it's just salesman nonsense.

Wish we never found this guy, and I hope this review helps save some other people a headache from deal with this criminal.

HORROR show. Called
Rapid Roofing for help with two separate roof leaks.
Rapid Roofing dispatched a group to look at the issue and quote a bid, which we accepted. The crew put down a silicon membrane across the flat roof, which not only didn't solve the leaks, it immediately began trapping rainwater beneath the silicon surface, causing huge bubbles of water to form. When I called to express alarm, Rapid Roofing said the company that installed the membrane was a subcontractor and had gone out of business, and that it was not their responsibility--my contract "was with the subcontractor." This was just a few days after they finished the job. They refused to send anyone else out to look and refused to take my calls; when they did answer, they were rude and dismissive. Ended up having to have the entire roof replaced because of it and was never refunded.

Extremely satisfied with replacement of roof from start to finish. I would highly recommend rapid roofing to all my family and friends!!!

We had a fabulous experience with Rapid Roofing representatives. The crew worked hard and efficiently, and the roof was completed, tearing off old shingles and damaged boards and replacing the boards and shingles, in one day. The crew cleaned up the area so well you could hardly tell they had been here. The roof looks amazing. Heather Flynn, our representative from Rapid Roofing, could not have been more helpful. She guided us through the whole process from beginning to end and beyond. Her helpfulness could not have been better. She is a definite asset to your company. We will recommend your company to any of our friends and neighbors because of the trust she inspired and the quality of work the crew provided. Thank you.

Let’s start off by staying wooooooow! Rapid Roofing is really RAPID! I started with another company and they could not provide what State Farm insurance company was asking for. It was very simple information. I never had to make an insurance claim before and this was not my home(it’s my grandparents home). The desk adjuster gave me the ok to just look for another contractor/roofing company. She gave me a list of State Farm preferred roofing companies, and they were at the top of this list. In 24 hours I had a new contractor! Let’s talk about Brent! He was and still is after the job, absolutely amazing! He understood my grandfather condition and was very very patient with him, he spent 3hrs walking him through the process… In my eyes (20-30mins) was really only needed. He’s great !!!!! He knows what he’s doing and if you’re looking for an easy process! Ask for Brent when you are calling rapid roofing the Michigan location! I hope I’m not spelling his name wrong! But Dominic the field supervisor and his team got the job done in 6-7 hours! The roof and garage. That was like some super power, robot and gladiator type of work. I still can’t understand how did they get the job done so fast! Their team work was unbelievable, even helped my disabled grandfather on to the porch!!! I have to give rapid roofing 10 stars! I want to first off say I am a single mother to four kids. I don't have a lot of insight on roofs so I struggled when getting quotes and understanding who to go with. Rapid roofing was the first to get in my attic explain detail after detail as to the process and what was needed to not just have my roof replaced but for it to be quality. They came out a week after signing the dotted line. They came out at 7am and worked non-stop until 7pm to make sure my roof on my home and garage were completed. They cleaned up my backyard better than what it looked like this morning before they came here. They even did some redecorating. THEY CLEANED MY GARBAGE CANS OUT! I truly have no words as to how impressed I am. RAPID ROOFING FOR THE WIN! You guys made this process so easy and went above and beyond! THANK YOU!

Rapid Roofing replaced my roof. They were very quick in replacing the roof - it only took them about 7 hours. After the job was completed, I found nails all over my yard and they left a tarp that ended up getting stuck in the power lines. They eventually came out to remove the tarp. After receiving the quote, I was pressured by sales to sign the contract - they called and texted me multiple times, it made me feel uncomfortable. I went with Rapid Roofing because the mostly have positive reviews, but I should've dug deeper and took into consideration ALL of the reviews. There are better roofing companies out there. Buyer BEWARE.

We just got our roof done by Rapid Roofing. Our home has a pretty large roof expanse with multiple pitches and angles, so we got quotes from numerous companies. We picked Rapid for multiple reasons - quality of materials, warranty, price and customer service. Callout to 2 employees:
Sales rep Ryan, was exceptional. From the first meeting till completion of job, he answered every question without showing any impatience or being pushy. Some aspects he had to explain multiple times so we could make an informed decision. He was polite, friendly, courteous and very pleasant to work with.
Project Manager Jason. Was on the site from start to finish of the project, taking care of every concern onsite and following up with me regularly. Respectful, courteous, friendly and very pleasant too.
I don't select contractors lightly. I educate myself before I listen to their pitch. I would recommend them highly.

From meeting their sales person Cory, to the final walkthrough, with Gabriel we couldn't be happier! Cory was transparent and educational at the first meeting. He climbed into the attic (the other 2 companies just climbed on the roof) he took pictures and showed them to us, so we could see the tiger striping mold (who knew there was such a thing?) in the attic due to lack of adequate ventilation. As many questions as I had, he had a knowledgeable answer. Can't say enough good about the introduction to the company that Cory supplied. As for the job itself - we had Gabriel as a supervisor. Again fantastic experience. Very professional, answered any question that came up. He was very polite and respectful of our property. He walked us through at the end making sure everything was satisfactory. All on the crew were very hardworking and certainly deserved the lunch we provided. No one was standing around at anytime with nothing to do. It was a well oiled machine under Gabriels' oversight - he was hands on too when needed. Cleanup was outstanding! You definitely get what you pay for. If you have them out for a quote, make sure to pay attention to the warranty - considerably different than the other companies - even though they all say 50 years. I rarely write reviews but couldn't help myself. No, I did not receive any compensation for the review :)

We hired Rapid Roofing to replace the roof on our sunroom after a tree damaged it – simple tear-off and replace. Our sunroom is our favorite room in the whole house and has beautiful vaulted, exposed wood ceilings. I was absolutely aghast when their crew SAWED A HOLE THROUGH THE CEILING while working. We quickly stopped them and asked what the heck they were doing. "Oh, just installing a ridge vent," they told us. The problem though, is that this type of ceiling is not meant to have a ridge vent (it would not meet code) AND they ruined my beautiful ceiling! I spoke with the project manager on duty and he assured me that the ridge vent was what was supposed to happen, and they'd clean it up to look better. They came back the next day and said "our bad, it shouldn't have a ridge vent."

They hired a carpenter to replace the ruined wood boards, and the carpenter did a nice job. However, the boards weren't stained the match the rest of the wood. Rapid Roofing decided they'd try to stain the boards themselves and were unable to match colors – sending their project manager on two occasions to try. He was a nice guy but did a terrible job and got stain on my floors. Not his fault – he is quite literally not a painter.

Rapid Roofing then insisted they would subcontract a painter; since we couldn't stain the boards to match, we would have to cover with paint. The guy was supposed to call and set up time to come over. He did not. We reached out to Rapid Roofing because we wanted the project completed (because of the damage, it dragged out for months), and they told us the painter had been contacting us (he hadn't – we checked all texts, emails, calls and voicemails to verify). Because I will not have dishonest contractors in my house, I decided not to allow their painter to do the work and hired my own, telling them I would subtract the costs from what we owed.

Once the painting was completed by my painter, we paid the balance to Rapid Roofing less what we paid the painter. Two months later, Rapid Roofing continues to call us and harass us for the remainder of the funds.

This was a nightmare start to finish. Please do not hire this company unless you want property damage and a super-extended timeline.

I am attaching two pictures to this review – one showing the damage to my ceiling and one showing wood all over our floor and furniture after they sawed the hole, which was not discussed in advance.

I absolutely recommend Ryan as a salesman and inspector to come out to help you . He is a wonderful person and honest. He helped me so much with my roof I can't thank him enough. I look forward to working with Ryan in the future .

Rapid Roofing was excellent from the initial roofing evaluation, estimate, to the single-day installation. When they say they are coming at a particular time, they do it. Paul M was especially helpful with evaluating whether to replace the roof or not. On installation day, Zachary and team identified an issue with roof venting that had existed since the house was built. They offered an effective and reasonable solution which they installed perfectly. I am a very experienced DIYer but have reached the age where I need to hire out big jobs like this. I built my previous home (did the complete build myself), so I can identify contractor nonsense and poor work. I am impressed with this company. It seems you can't say that often enough these days.

We had Rapid Roofing install our roof and siding.
Some issues corrected:
Left nails and other garbage around house-corrected-cleaned after complaint
Closed vent in the attic with siding-we had condensation on the ceiling-corrected-open siding hole for the went
Did not replace siding below roof line-corrected- replaces top strip.
Issues not corrected: missing bottom strip and caulking.
Siding bottom piece is missing so there is big gap between bricks and siding. Caulking is missing at many places so we got water damage around bathroom window. Since caulking is missing yellow jackets can go under siding to nest. Now for 3 years since Rapid Roofing installed our siding we get yellow jackets under siding.
Roof seems OK. Siding is NOT ok.

I called to get a price on roof replacement. Taylor came out and was great! He was respectful, answered my questions, and made me feel comfortable spending the money to get the job done. The day they scheduled the work went well and they got in and done the same day just like they said they would.

Great experience! Prompt response after I made initial contact. My salesperson was the best; extremely courteous, knowledgeable and timely. My one-day roof installation was fast and efficient. They completed the installation and cleaned up the yard before leaving. A few days later my gutter installation went great as well. Thank you Rapid Roofing for a job well done!

My moms house needed a new roof and she received estimates and quotes from 5 other companies, one of which said she had to make a decision that day or the price they quoted would increase. I sat through some of the sales pitches. To be honest they were all pretty much the same but my mom felt most comfortable with Rapid Roofing. Very professional, constant contact all the way through the project. The gutters were installed I believe by another company about a week later. Roof was done in one day, no damage to the house and everything was cleaned up. I guess I didn’t do the best background on the company because I didn’t see the one star review until today. My dealing with Rapid Roofing were the complete opposite of that review. Also one question i did ask, because of another companies pitch, was if they were veteran owned, which they are. Hopefully never need the warranty but so far everything looks great and would definitely recommend.

I was satisfied with the work. The roof is beautiful. Everyone at Rapid Roofing deserves thanks for a job well done.They used photographs of my roof to explain clearly why I was having problems, and why some parts of the roof could be repaired while other parts needed to be replaced. The workmen were pleasant, polite and obviously very competent and I am very happy with the finished job. The guarantee gives peace of mind, and I was happy with the price.

At the end of each day the boys cleaned up and gave a clear summary of what had been done, and the next step.

The service and materials were first rate for my roof and gutter replacement. The crew finished the work in one day, and cleaned up after themselves. I couldn't ask for better service.

They are not pushy, very communicative, responsive about the process, follow up and any questions in between. The crew was on time, fast and very efficient!

Went with Rapid to replace my Roof and I’m glad that I did. The sales person took the time to explain the entire process.The crew and project manager Brent were true professionals. They weren’t the least expensive of the three roofers I looked at, but I’m very pleased.

Yesterday confirmed what I mentioned in my previous review about this company. I'm going to start from the beginning. I'm a Veteran and I needed a reliable trustworthy company in order to get some assistance from the VA to help pay for my roof. Ryan came to my home to give me the extremely high quote stating that I would receive a discount for being a Veteran. That's the 1st lie. Fast forward to the shoddy work and the piece they broke off the house due to carelessness. I pointed all of this out before they completed the work and they still left the hump in my roof shingles sticking up. Ryan came to my home saying that he would fix the piece they broke off, after he collected the final payment I haven't heard from him again. I waited patiently for it to warm up some before contacting this company again for repairs to the roof and part they broke off. Fast forward to 4/5/22 at approximately 11:15am I spoke with Corey they were supposed to arrive at my home between 12p and 1pm. Mind you with my contract came a 25yr warranty. I asked to speak with the owner because they refuse to fix the part of my house that they broke off. Corey responded by telling me, " the owner doesn't want to speak to me, nor will they be repairing my roof until I remove the review I posted some months ago." This is bullying at its best. Like I stated before, they feel as though I should be grateful to them and that they chose me to be their customer not the other way around. I chose them based off someone I trusted. I believed they were the best company for the job. I was wrong. Needless to say they kept their word and didn't come out to repair my roof because I didn't take my review down. I hate to think that most things are racially motivated, but this is a clear case. I'm a black female who happily and proudly live in Detroit. I'm being disregard and disrespected on so many levels.

Rapid Roofing has done several projects for me. Rapid has always been responsive on all aspects of the project. Rapid has a great deal of knowledge about multiple roofing systems. I will continue to work with Mike, Bill, and their team on future projects.

We needed a tear off and install of a new roof on our two story home. The salesman was knowledgable, friendly, and to the point. The crew arrived a few hours later than expected but they got right to work, and still finished the job in one day. The crew was very respectful of our property, and were super-human efficient. Cleanup was thorough and the job was really well done. I highly recommend this company if you need roofing work done.

When our roof was first done they really messed up the roof siding and they had to come back three times also the chimney was not secured properly and it leaned. Developed a roof leak in our laundry room which messed up the ceiling after two calls they sent out a tech that was so scared of covid he would not enter the house to inspect the vent pipe for the furnace looks to be broken and he fixed it with a bungee strap. He told my wife he would have some one call. After two weeks I called and was told someone would call me the next week. Two weeks later I called them again and was told someone would call me.
I'm at the point where I'm going to get three estimates to do it properly and take them to court.
A phone call and a plan to fix it is all we are asking.

We had cancelled our first appointment due to Covid quarantine when the quarantine had ended we rescheduled your tech said he was uncomfortable due to a family member had died of covid.
He should not have been sent out or at least rescheduled.
The pipe is broken above the roofline.
We took down the ceiling and it is not disconnected or broken under the roof.
Your roofing people broke it and tried to repair with a boot. It was not flashed properly.
He tied it up with bungie cord what kind of repair is that...why has no one called me back.
Update received a call from Paul very nice man and he is looking into it now.
We now have a plan in the works. Thank you Paul for the responce

Our project manager Paul and the Rapid Roofing crew definitely exceeded our expectations! Quoting and installation process, even during COVID times, was professional and seamless. We are so happy with our new roof, it looks awesome and the large investment in our home was totally worth it!

Please read this review if you are considering rapid. Buying a new roof is a very big purchase so I encourage everyone looking to do as much research and price comparison as possible.

Tldr: Rapid is a good company especially their staff, but keep an eye on the contractors they hire and hold them accountable for anything they do or don't do. At least from my research ahead of time rapid is the best bang for buck also.

I have to split this review into two parts. (part 1) The staff of Rapid are great and I think I'd give a 6/5 if I could. I had in issue with the installation and I also happened to have a picture of this issue and they did everything they could to rectify it especially the on site manager, Brent. I really have to give a shoutout to him, he did such a good job with communication and making sure I was satisfied with the trust I put in his company. They sent out a service crew right away, then they fixed the issue over the next two days. They truly do honor their reputation and want to do right by the customer. Even the sales person I originally spoke with was very patient and always go back to me if he couldn't pick up the phone (which he usually would). The Rapid team is really really good, I can't stress that enough!

(part 2) The contractors they hired, however, I think deserve a 1/5. These guys were a team that have been doing this work for 12 years (apparently) and decided to take shortcuts. What shortcuts you ask?

1. Not properly installing underlayment over my front porch and a bit over the garage.
2. Leaving a bunch of old roof and nails in my yard after their alleged "clean up". When the service crew came in they did a complimentary clean up and they found at least 30 nails in the yard.
3. Damage one of my cheap patio tables. Not too upset about this one because it's a really cheap table but still just shows they didn't handle with care.
4. Didn't blow out the gutters. There was a ton of residue (from the old roof) in my gutters and even a full set of nails. This is literally what they are supposed to do after the job is done
5. There was a corner piece that was sticking out. Functionally I think it was fine but it was an eye sour.

Please note that all these issues were fixed or dealt with after the initial install.

Now I really ripped into the contractors and to be fair it was getting pretty dark and it was a colder day when they were installing, but that's not an excuse. They could've come back the next day to finish the job they didn't need to cheat. Also despite the fact that I had a bad experience with them (contractors) I don't think you will. It seems like rapid laid into them pretty hard and will be keeping a closer eye on them to make sure this incident doesn't happen again.

So yeah despite this I do recommend rapid, but do yourself a favor and buy a cheap camera that has a time lapse feature and record them while they work. Not sure if that's considered rude, but it's to protect yourself so I think it's ok.

Highly recommend this business. They were responsive on the front (sales) end and did excellent, quick work. Both the salesman and foreman were available by text and responded quickly. Price was fair and work quality excellent. Recommend with no reservations.

Roof removal and reinstall went smoothly in one day. Great job and thorough cleanup of yard and gutters. Professional, knowledgeable and organized staff, great communication and follow through.
