Quality Insulation - Yarmouth, ME

I wouldn't hire this company. I had a nice big job for them to do and they don't return phone calls. I tried working with them and after several phones calls not a call back. So I hired someone else. 2 weeks later they call and want to now come and look at my job. Told them nope going with someone else. Also we used one of the big box stores to install gutters on the home in the community I manage. They had 2 homes to do. They did one home took the money and never came back. The store couldn't even get hold pf the. Do not use these guys

I am leaving My experience with this company. I had a problem over this past Winter season and I could not get the contact person to call me back. I left a message to call me back. After 3 attempts I gave up.. The front person who answered said the individual was in his office, twice. I would not recommend this company seeing I said I had a problem and I needed their assistance and given a recommendation on what I needed to do. It was with a water problem.. I would highly not recommend this company seeing they can't even perform a simple task like respectably making a return call when I needed help. JC

Our son from Florida has been waiting for months from this Company to call him back with an estimate of our Seamless Gutters. No reply by them.
I therefore emailed them asking if someone would come to give us an estimate a couple of wks ago and here we are still waiting for a reply.
Not very good for this Company of not returning telephone or text messengers .

Truckers: It's a pretty small place, really only room for one truck at a time. I was advised to park alongside the building while another truck was being emptied. Backing up against the old-school cement ledge-type dock is easy, but the only way to get back out from where you came in is by backing out. The forklift operator was nice enough to assist with this part. There isn't really room for overnight parking, so I parked at one of the neighboring warehouses and no one bothered me. I would not advise parking in the big parking lot next door. It's empty at night, but by 8am it's packed with cars.

We could only find one company that would come to the island. Bid was exhorbitant. They collected a deposit and then I spent the next 4 months chasing them to fulfill the contract. They said it would take 2 days. It took less than one. They packed their equipment and we had to call them back - they had forgotten one whole section. The bid included materials that were never used. They did not clean up after themselves. They got the job done but I cannot recommend them.

This project was very disappointing. We hired Quality Insulation (and their Gutter Division) to install new gutters for the entire property plus to blow-insulate the attics and spray foam + wall-insulate the basement.

After the gutter installation was complete, I noticed a defect in one of the gutters. So I started to look elsewhere. In total I found over 21 defects and documented via a list and images of each defect. They were quick to comeback and fix them; however they had to be called back to address one they missed (that had 10-12 locations). They were relatively quick to come back and fix them.

The insulation work had it issues as well. The team blowing the insulation in the attics did not clean up after themselves and soiled a carpet with their hose and dirty feet (the site supervisor said to me that we once thought about saying to them "you should treat this as if it were your house";. Then he commented, "after we thought about it for a second decided "no, perhaps we shouldn't". Gives you a sense for the caliber of worker they hire.

The spray foam insulation with the wall insulation was the best part of the scope of work they had to do. But even that was not without a problem: The spray foam hose was connected to a supply truck in the driveway. When they disconnected it at the end of the job spray foam chemicals were spilled on the driveway, melting he asphalt coating. They asked that I get it fixed and they would reimburse me for the expense.

Further, our agreement with the company was that they would come out and clean the gutters they installed 1 to 3 times in the fall (based on need). After no less than 6 attempts to get the cleaning scheduled and complete, I gave up and used another contractor.

Overall, I was very disappointed in the company. I, the customer, was relegated to being their quality control agent. I think it is a bit of an oxymoron to have "Quality" in their name. I would not recommend this company for either gutter or insulation services.

Its unfortunate I can't upload the photos and video of their driver from yesterday morning blowing stop signs (yes, I had to lay on my brakes taking my son to school because their box truck decided to blow a stop sign as I peaked a hill). Then again blowing a stop sign pulling out onto the main road in town after driving in the middle of the road (including corners refered to as "s-turns").... Yes, you drove a gray van off the road in the last corner of the road and you wouldn't know that as you just kept driving as if nothing happened..... Two narrowly missed accidents only avoided by the fast reactions of myself and the other poor woman driving the van. Quick tip, the double yellow lines aren't meant to be down the center of your vehicle. Stop signs aren't suggested stops, they are requirement. This company doesn't want their truck and company name listed on a murder charge when you kill someone on the road

Good worker's and they care about making there customers happy. And if you want the best worker ask for Kevin Johnson he does a great job and cares deeply about getting the job done right.

I called them three weeks ago and left a message for a call-back. After hearing nothing for a week I drove out to their office and spoke with a rep in the office who apologized and said they would contact me right away. Now, yet another full week later: nothing.

My advice: unless you have a really big job (i.e, a whole new house under construction) don't bother wasting your time with "Quality" insulation.
