I went for something specific and approximately location, was told isle number 20 and that's where I found the item. Great service!!!

Consistently pleasant cashiers. Consistently unpleasant and unhelpful sales-floor staff.
Me: Do you have this common mirror hanging part?
Staff: I don't see it.
Me: Can you get one?
Staff:No.
Me: Would you like to order one?
Staff:No.

I've never encountered such surly staff at an Ace franchise.

Head down the road to Tractor Supply or Alpine Lumber instead.

Honestly they are so expensive. The clerks (the girls) are so very very rude. The men are mostly amenable, but those girls at the counter need to find another job. Especially one. She is absolutely the rudest woman ever. Go to tractor supply instead. Also don't try to go online to look up something to buy here, even tho it says they have it in stock, they never do. Web page is iffy also.. ugh.

I travel to their store because they are the only ones who carry a particular product. They've always been very helpful.

Well, if something around the house broke, and you're sure no one will have what you need, so you'll be able to relax for the rest of the day.. Then don't go to Records Hardware.. They will ruin your day...They carry the off the wall items, they'll have what you need.. and no relaxing for you .. and to add insult to injury, they are happy to put you back to work... I give-em a 5, for ruining what should have been a perfectly good lack of parts day...

It could be the perfect small town hardware store, I don't like that they follow you around like you're a thief.

I don't believe that that gives to the the quality of the store , it's more than likely the quality of the community.

Politicians need to pull their head out and create an environment for blue collar Christians instead of welfare that steals all your stuff.

The people are nice and very helpful. Went in for paint they color matched from a different brand perfectly. Will definitely go back

Staff is always rude and not very happy each time you have a question about any products in stock. I don't like giving a bad review as I can understand a person can be having a bad day but each time I visit the store and ask questions they seem annoyed. poor customer service.

Ace Hardware in Raton, New Mexico has the most unhelpful and rude personnel. Needed help with plumbing pieces, ask the employee in the plumbing section of the store for help, his reply was condescending, "I don't know what you want or need". Basically, he just told ne to go elsewhere. It is very unfortunate that in small rural town we have only few stores of this kind. I am very disappointed in Ace in Raton and people who work there.

I've been shopping at Records Hardware (Ace) for several years now. They are always super-friendly and welcoming the moment you walk in the door.

When you go looking around for something, you never have to worry about finding it because there are people seemingly at every aisle to help. What's more, they ALL seem to be super-knowledgeable! Are they all trained on everything?! Maybe I've just been lucky, but it sure seems that way.

I have to especially call out Chris in the paint department. He's been there for years, but even after not coming by for longgg stretch (we were out of town for much of the COVID-19 Pandemic) when my wife and I returned, he knew us exactly, remembered all our paint choices and helped us in every way possible.

The selection in the store is just big enough to find what you need, but their online service provides what seems like a limitless selection. Prices are comparable to other stores.

The fact Records has stood the test of time is evidence of how wonderful they are, and certainly a valued merchant in the little town of Raton, New Mexico.

Update: They do not carry Craftsman screwdrivers as the Craftsman website claims.

Do not try to buy a water heater from this place. I called because I live 30 minutes out of Raton to see if they had a water heater that I needed. I was told they had it and when I drove to town to pick it up they were very rude and told me they didn't have it. I left back home to look elsewhere. I ended up driving back and purchased a different water heater and when I got home to install it I cut it open and the water heater was dented and smashed in several places. I drove back a third time to let them know and was met by a very rude manager I would guess and she told me if they didn't have another one like that then I would have to pay another 70 dollars for another one because they didn't have any more of the ones I purchased. I let them know I had been there 3 times already because of them and I did not even get a sorry for all the trouble instead she tells me well do you want to pay the extra money or I'll put you're money back on you're card. Rude people with horrible customer service! Will never spend another dime there again!

The customer service by far was the best I have had in years. Every one was so polite and helpful. My husband and I had an issue with how we were going to level our foundation and they were able to give us a great option and we were able to rent a generator and a hammer drill. We also found other things we needed for our build because of the great information they gave us. Everyone here is amazing. We will definitely be back. We are in Aguilar Co but the service is totally worth the drive.

I use too not like going in there because some of the employees treat you like your stealing something but since I've been spending a lot of money in there the attitude's have changed except for one employee Chris Segura he goes out of his way to help out and is very professional thanks to him I will continue to spend in there!

My trip to Ace from Trinidad was well worth it! The guys were so helpful solving my issues. I got some free advice which will help me far in the future. No where can you get the help that you can get from our Ace! Thanks guys

Incredible variety of items! Great prices and a friendly environment. It's been a long time since I have been to a store that has the warmth of Hometown and a friendly atmosphere. It was nice shopping there, a time not so long ago it was a normal thing, these days it extremely rare, Keep up the good work. Thank You!

It has the selection of products I need except for lumber, but the staff is strangely hostile. I saw one sales clerk following a customer around being obvious that he thought the customer is a thief (didn’t help that the customer was the only person of color in the store). Signs everywhere threaten to ban or kick out customers from the store if they walk down an aisle in one direction versus another, use too much hand sanitizer, try to handle bulk screws and other things. I don’t know if they got robbed, but the place has the feel of a prison. I hope they can address this - that they can improve their customer relations - since otherwise it’s a decent store.
