Pilot Travel Center - New Albany, MS

On 3/16/25 around 09:55 p.m. I went to pilot location #174 last night in New Albany Ms to get food from Arby’s, and had a very rude encounter with a mean-spirited,possibly racist women named Joanna. This woman was very rude, uncooperative, and unreliable, Joanna raised her voice at her coworker named Jasmine and pushed the poor lady away from the register while talking to her and the gentleman in the kitchen preparing the sandwiches like they were animals. Joanna then Threw the food at us like we were animals,while bouncing around the kitchen rudely, I then stood to the side and proceeded to check my food bag at the end of the pick up counter and informed Joanna that I was missing a sandwich from my 2 for 6.99 order apparently this really set her off. While my husband was checking his food at the counter the 2nd time to make sure this was the correct burger Joanna rudely interrupted yelling at me in front of a line of customers “WHY IS HE CHECKING HIS FOOD” “IS THERE A REASON YOU CHECKING YOUR SANDWICH I JUST PUT IN YOUR BAG” she looked at me and said “IM NOT TALKING TO YOU IM JUST ASKING WHAT’S THE REASON HE’S CHECKING HIS SANDWICH AT THE COUNTER”, if she was working for me she wouldn’t have a job anymore. The food, I’ve wasted my hard earned money on was very nasty and dissatisfying I ended up getting sick off of it, had to pull over and puke, hopefully I don’t have food poisoning from it. my burger that I ordered was still pink and Joanna didn’t have on any gloves. I witnessed the order of the previous customer in front of me also be incorrect in which the customer ordered crinkle fries instead of curly fries, another young male employee with a dirty white pullover jacket was very helpful by grabbing the fries out of her bag and dashing them back into the fryer on the fresh fries . after looking at the many reviews on Google from this location/restaurant I’ve decided since nothing has been done thus far, to involve corporate and possibly the health department.

I would skip this location if you are here for a shower. the amount of black mold is quite scary. this is also a very busy location at any time, so if you are in a hurry its not the best. personnel is very friendly tho! fuel up and leave is my suggestion.

Yesterday, I walked up to cash with a manager / employee yelling profanities from the office, and then she took the conversation on her cell phone outside in front while yelling through the store. Everyone could clearly hear.. Great, welcome.
The store is dirty with mold in the showers at face level. Wall or floor don't seem like they ever get wiped down properly. The shower pressure is great, but water is luke warm. Staff start blasting music at 5 am. on a portable radio. No real food, just the typical pilot frozen sandwiches. Poor excuse for a pilot. Arby's doesn't open till 7am. No cooked roller meals even. It's just a filthy location.

What a absolute waste of time stopping at this truckstop if that’s what you want to call the damn place! Me and several other truckers was wondering around in the store relentlessly trying to find something to eat! Us nighttime truckers that start driving after midnight want breakfast! We’re all walking around in there. Starving to death. They have literally nothing on the rollers. They have no biscuits no croissants. They have absolutely nothing in the store to eat but a cookie or a damn donut that is really good for diabetics huh!!!!! I don’t know, but pallet has just went to hell in a handbasket! They sure want our money for their fuel but they can’t see to it that we have something decent to eat when we come in here. It’s been $600 in their damn fuel when is pallet going to open their eyes and realize they are losing us truckers to other trucking travel centers because they don’t think we need to eat during the night!!

Parked at 1600 found a couple free spots, about 5-7 reserved left but most from day prior who havent left yet because app showed 19 available. Woke up, fueled, used restrooms, everything was clean. Lady was also mopping store. Greeted at the door. No complaints

BLACK MOLD!!! If I could write a zero, I would.. horrible, the toilet was disgustingly dirty, the vent above open and nasty stuff was falling down, the shower has black mold, the shower is clearly not treated with chemicals after use.. as a woman trucking across the country, it is the worst I have seen yet..

Plenty of car/truck parking. 90 truck spaces, 20 reserved (get yours online) 2 handicap (back to back, by scales). Store is clean. Showers, washers and dryers. Arby's and Dunkin'. "Be a Beacon of light so others can find their way. Safe and happy travels!"

This is legitimately the worst shower I've been in. That says a lot. I come in and first thing I notice is the latch on the door is broken and hasn't even been fixed. Then I notice the towel rack on the side is broken. Literally hanging down. Then the other towel holder by the shower is completely gone. Just 2 holes. No one thought to repair it??? Then the mildew in the shower is plentiful. Then once I got into the shower (please have shower shoes) water comes on hot, but every now and then I'll hear a THUMP from within the walls then suddenly the water gets boiling hot for a second or 2. I had to time it to where I dodged the water every time I heard that thump. That is a plumbing issue. We truck drivers work too hard, we should at least get a decent shower. Don't say anything I said isn't true, in order to prevent that I've attached photographic PROOF of my claims. FIX THIS!

The staff at Arby’s really showed how to be professional in a difficult situation I was upset they didn’t have the new berry sauce and it really showed lol but the two workers apologized and maintained tone and all and offered another sauce and the pilot cashiers were so sweet they made sure I had everything I needed before heading back out to the rain

This truck stop is absolutely disgusting , showers are nasty I watched the lady cleaning the showers with the same dirty towels that were there.and then go get clean towels with the dirty gloves she had on cross contamination. That’s why I don’t use those towels. This showers need a serious steam cleaning.just saying. Only reason I gave them a star is because I have to.

Thanks for reviews. Was about to purchase a shower here but after reading the reviews i’m now moving to next loves. So to the management just do something because truckers like checking reviews than anything else and will make decisions accordingly. So that means you are loosing a lot of money just because you’re are not serious with the business. I did not even step inside just parked finished my brake and now moving to a different place for decent services. Wanted fuel, food and shower but i ain’t gonna do any of those because of those showers.

Marketing, business, marketing and that's all. As a truck driver, loyal customer of Pilot/Fliyng J, I want to say that I hate to stop by them for hygiene services. A proverb says to take care of the hand that feeds you. The truckers bring so much money in these fuel supplies and we deserve to have best services, a nicer corridor, some renovated and clean showers and, last but not least, a warm smile at the entrance from the team.
Shame, degraded day by day .☹️

It's a terrible place. after waiting for the bathrooms to be cleaned. The person in charge of that arrives and with the same towels that they put out for the clients to dry off. That person cleaned the bathroom with them. The only thing he did was dry the bathroom. He didn't even clean the toilets. and I know that because she was watching it. She was sitting right next to him waiting for him to clean the bathroom. it's disgusting

The positives : VERY few. Water pressure in the showers were decent but water not very hot. Parking lot is decent and you should t have a problem getting into a spot if you can actually drive. Now the horrible : the showers are disgusting. One of the worst and that’s saying a lot for pilot. Mold everywhere. Only one hook to hang anything while showering. No aerator on sink faucet causing water to go everywhere. No safety lock on door. Fan over sink has more dust on it then the haunted mansion in Disney World. Ceiling vent is just a wide open hole with no filtration. Over all , if you have shower credits anywhere else or can find a hose behind a dumpster someplace , you’d have a better experience then using this dump.

I am by the new brand new headphones, Bluetooth Plantronics Voyager 5200 7/28/2023 and I want to return because when I call someone nobody hearing my voice, and when I buy for this headphone in employer asking for me, if you want to return 14 day under policy. warranty you have to return and 30 day exchange any pilot and flying J that’s way I want to return and exchange and I have with the box and original receipt with I’m coming today to return. at pilot truckstop. 8/09/23 she asked for me different story if you want to exchange, you have to pay more money to exchange if you want to return you be have to go same place to return where you buy but I buy Missouri state and I’m return to Missisippi today I am living in New York. I’m truck, driver so I’m have go to special only return the Bluetooth headphones return to Missouri. Wow she say that-to me and after I call the Customer Care and explain everything. And she put on hold and after she hung up my call This is my experience with the pilot .so guy’s don’t buy pilot and flying J if you want to by Amazon is better then be here to return policy 30 day and moneyback guarantee. The girls workin the counter were so helpful and the place was so clean and organized. The cashier apologized for the smallest tiniest wait to check out. She was a peach.

Best gas station experience I've had in a long long time.

Very friendly staff; dirty showers. Would be five stars if showers were clean. The pics I left are how I found the shower room, not how I left it. If you love friendly people and dirty showers, this is your place. The people working the Arby's were super nice too.

I have given up on Pilots. Had to weigh the wagon, jockeyed through the crowded parking lot to the scale. Pushed the call button and waited....and waited. Finally, the usual conversation. Then, off to find a parking spot, since the fuel pumps were in line out on the road. Got to the desk only to find that someone didn't push the right button and I have to reweigh. Repeat the above steps to find that again no scale receipt. Assured all would be good this time. It was, but no apologies or even an offer for a free beverage. Just the attitude of , "to bad, you need us, there will be someone else in line if you don't come here." I hope they are correct as all my business is now traded with Love's.

Moldy showers. Decent water pressure. Every pilot & flying j uses the towels they provide you to clean the floor, around the toilet, walls, sink etc... I've seen them on multiple occasions attach them to the mop head to mop. It is disgusting. Always bring your own towel & wash cloth.
