Penfolds Roofing & Solar - Blaine, WA

2016 we had Penfolds put 16 solar panels on our newly acquired home and have been extremely pleased with the performance of them. 2021 we decided to reroof and had Penfolds move the panels and do the roof. They put new plywood and heavy duty underlay first, then droid shingles, which gave the roof an “R” value of 40! Our heating bills dropped very noticeably. They put the panels back.
The crew were exceptional and very professional. We would recommend Penfolds for any roofing and solar. By the way… everyone should get solar. It’s paid for itself and covers 1/3 of our costs. Besides lessening our footprint on our planet ❤️

I had a slate rubber roof installed.. The workers were awesome and very efficient. The few issues there was, were dealt with in a timely manner. I would highly recommend Penfolds.

The job was not a big one, garage roof replacement, and some vent fixes on the house flat roof. Once quote request was put in, prompt response and contact. Went over the options clearly listing benefits and drawbacks of each. No pressure, made it easy to make the right choice. The job was done quickly, pictures of roof after great to get. Same with flat roof team, in contact quick went over things, got job done quick with follow up photos. Very happy with the service and the people I dealt with. I would highly recommend Penfolds, and should I need any roof work in future I will be a returning customer.

Great communication and job started and completed as promised. One and a half years later and absolutely no issues with the product or installation.

I called Penfolds Roofing because I came home to a house that was probably 120F to 130F even with an air conditioner running and I was worried about what would happen to my house. They got back to me not once but three times the same day with excellent information and advice even though they were not able to do the work because they did not install my roof.

Luke and the Penfolds team has been amazing. They were patient with our requests and concerns. They presented options and were flexible with our situation (very busy work and family life). Quality of work and product is amazing. To me trust is everything since it can be a very large expense to care for. I was woken up by my dog barking and hearing voices outside my window, when I looked outside there was a man on my roof. I asked them what they were doing and they said they were here for Penfolds doing a courtesy inspection on roofs previously done by the company. They said I should have gotten an email notice of the inspection and that they knocked on the door but no one answered.The person who got Penfolds to do the roof, and the person they contacted, no longer lives in this house and despite not being able to contact the owner of the residence, these men, in an unmarked non Penfolds car, helped themselves to my roof. I had to call the company to confirm that these men were supposed to be here. I personally think that if the person does not answer the door the inspectors should leave a notice of attempt at the door and get the resident to reschedule, not help themselves to my house. While they were up there I could hear the hammering and doing something, but when they were done they just left, they did not tell me what exactly they did and I have no idea why they were up there for so long. Although the work done previously was good (I am assuming, because I haven't had any issues with it), this was not a comfortable situation to be in and I feel like its not good business practice.

I would highly recommend the team at Penfolds Roofing. Shaun Mayhew and team have always exceeded my expectations in our past dealings.

I must say that I was shocked at the troubles we had with Penfolds on such a small and simple job.
There were several things that we had issues with.
First, the roofers put the vents on the wrong side of the roof. Not sure why any roofer in their right mind would put them on the side of the roof that you can see,they always go on the rear of the house.
They left their bin blocking our driveway for a week.
Two of the roofers ask to use our washroom,when it clearly states in their covid19 policy that under no circumstances that they will not enter the home.
They forgot the head flashing, and after I called and they finally came to install it and when they came ,they show up without a ladder. What roofing company comes to a job site without a ladder.
I would never recommend or use Penfolds again.
They talk about how great they are on cknw, but in my opinion there are too many people with titles at that company. They need to restructure their staff and clean house. The quality control has been lost.
Try a different roofing company. I believe you will be better off.

Last year, Penfolds converted our low pitch roof with troublesome hidden gutters to a standing seam metal roof and conventional gutter system. Their price was competitive, they offered the best warranty and even though there were some major hiccoughs along the way, THEY STUCK TO THEIR QUOTE.

From the salesman to the clean up crew, everyone was professional and a pleasure to deal with.

The new metal roof looks amazing and we have no more leaf and debris problems.
