We had a very positive experience with Pacific Coast Renovations! We were "gun shy" having completed a remodel of another property with a different contractor that did not go well. We were impressed with PCR's professionalism, competence, and communication regarding the status and progress of our project. They helped us transform our '90's era home into the present. We are very pleased with the finished product and are so grateful we found PCR. They got the job done, as hoped for, without drama. We felt like our needs, concerns and priorities were their's, as well. It was a comfortable professional relationship with mission accomplished!
The finished bathroom and kitchen look amazing. Jim did a great job coordinating the trades and working thru details with us. Niels the electrician was a standout and did a great job tying the old and new together.
Ran into a few surprises, most the type of things that happen when opening up walls in an old house…Jim helped us pivot and adjust the bathroom design to accommodate the unexpected extra plumbing lines.
One shock that could have been avoided was the cabinet pricing. I really wish i had insisted on a cabinet design meeting prior to signing or at least an understanding of how extremely lackluster the “standard” cabinets used to estimate would have been.
I gotta tell you: I love these guys.
Our house is vintage 1892 construction. We needed structural work done, interior perimeter drains ("French Drains") installed, staircases reconfigured in one case and entirely moved in another, two bathrooms installed, a third bathroom roughed-in, a deck installed, and a laundry room installed. And the prompt from us was that, at the end of the project, it all still had to look and feel like the house we loved.
I'm thrilled to say that it went beautifully. It was done largely within budget (and in the few cases where it went over-budget it absolutely made sense for it to go over-budget), on-time, and with minimum hassle considering everything that had to be done.
We loved the crews they brought in to do the work. We particularly liked the design team they work with. They were able to work with the city to make sure all the permitting was done responsibly and in a timely fashion. And the electrician they used was incredibly helpful and informative.
Thank you so much Jim, Jordan, and the rest of the crew! When we're ready to start "phase 2", you'll be our FIRST CALL!
