I want to warn everyone that this company stole 7800.00 of my money and my neighbor 6800.00. Had a contract in July now middle of November and they skipped town. No new roof and now we have to put out money we don't have because of hail damage to our area. Please I beg anyone do NOT use them. They are shysters and will take your money and not call you. They have even blocked our phone numbers. Karma is all I hope. I understand after talking to an attorney that they owe millions of dollars to contractors. Shame on them for taking our money.

This company is all giving us a line of crap stating that they sincerely apologize, this is not the level of service they strive to provide, and they are looking into it. I have heard this many times before with no resolution. Meanwhile everyone that they have taken advantage of, are living with families in houses with their roofs not done and/or getting worse unable to go to a different company because you have taken our money and ran. You only respond to Google reviews, not phone calls or emails.

I wish I could post zero stars. From what I can tell this company has taken peoples money and disappeared. I sadly chose this company and paid for a new roof back in June. Still no roof and I can no longer reach the company at any level. Not local or corporate.

I have been waiting to get the roof done on my house since March 2024. My insurance check was given to your office for almost $20,000 and it seems like you have taken it and ran.

I have been given dates that it would get done and no one will show. I have had two reps for the Charleston area that are no longer with the company and I wasn’t told until after the fact and I had been trying to get in touch with them. I left a message for Katie (Sales VP) months ago, stating that my roof hadn’t been done yet with no call back. I finally was able to get through to someone on the phone and it was the Finance VP. She said that there was a note from Katie to do a refund and that she would verify and it would be to us in 6 to 8 weeks.

I have tried multiple times to get ahold Katie or anyone. I was finally able to get ahold of Katie, who told me that my roof could get completed on Oct. 14th. She said that she could get our deductible taken care of since we have been waiting so long and there has been extreme lack of communication. No one showed on Oct. 14th and I never got a call back from her.

I called the office and spoke with the Financial VP (after a week of trying to get someone on the phone) who gave me what was supposed to be her direct number because I have had difficulties getting people to answer the phone. I was instructed to call back the next day. I did (and about every other day afterwards) and it went directly to the main line and my phone call was not returned again. I tried calling and emailing Katie multiple times, and finally got a response about two weeks ago from Katie that stated that she was no longer with the company as well.

I have tried to call the office multiple times with no answer. I have left multiple messages with no call back. My roof is still not done, you still have the insurance money, and more shingles fall off my roof with every storm that comes through.

I am tired of people not answering phones, multiple messages left with no response, being lied to, and my roof getting worse. I need a resolution immediately before we have go to court. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Scamming company. Payed them over $8000
Back in June and have been getting the run around about setting a date. When they finally gave us a date they started ghosting us. All the numbers we were given have been disconnected. And now we no one will answer or return our calls from the office.

My husband signed a contract and gave a deposit in March of 2024. We're still waiting for a roof. They've been busy, they've changed hands, they're short staffed, etc. I've lost count at how many times they've changed appointments. He stopped by the office in Charleston twice and there wasn't a soul in the building.I would never use this company for anything. We're hiring a responsible roofer and now our focus will be getting our deposit back. Think very carefully before you call them.

Signed contract 3/28 and was told 6-8 weeks to completion - roof not installed until 9/3 - notified contractor 9/4 of issue with installation - today is 11/5 and issues have not been resolved - contractor is not responding to numerous efforts to contact them - they have acted in a very unprofessional and unethical manner

They took our deposit for a roof replacement over 2 months ago and ghosted us since. Our sales contact just informed us that the whole Charleston office was let go and to reach out to the main office in Texas, who also does not pick up phone or answer our emails. We are going to take legal action if they are not responding by the end of this week. Stay away form this company, they do run a ponzi scheme and ghost you as soon as you wire them your deposit. I encourage all the homeowners in the same situation to reach out to be part of the legal claim against them.

We hired Orange Elephant to repair our roof. We paid the $8k in May and they told us they would have the repairs complete by 6/30/24. They have now rescheduled EIGHT TIMES!!! Nobody answers the phone at any office number we call. I finally had enough because they have changed our point of contact multiple times, so I went to their Charleston, SC office. It was unlocked but completely empty. Not a soul there. While I was there waiting for 30 minutes I ran into somebody in the same situation as myself except much worse. I looked at their office phone and they had over 70 voicemails that nobody has bothered to listen to. I’m at a loss about what to do except take them to small claims court unless someone reaches out soon.

This company lacks professionalism and communication. They have dropped the ball on numerous occasions since I began the process of replacing my roof with them back in May. I have had 5 different contacts at this point because so many people have left the company. Each time I have been reassigned, I’ve been given a new date for the job and then never hear from them again. Each time I have followed up, I’ve been informed that they have had to push my date again and assigned me to a new person. It is now the end of an October, and after 6 reschedules I am still without a new roof. My current contact is non-responsive to calls and texts and no one has answered the office line for months. My deposit of $8k was deposited in June 10th.

They talked the talked but didn’t walk the walk! After signing the contract and taking our money after a hail storm in April of this year, 2024, they still have not showed up, 6 months later. They were supposed to show up on 4 different dates. No show every time without any notice. Daniel, the project manager has only lied to us. This has caused nothing but anxiety for us. We thought we did everything right with this company by checking them out. Apparently we still got scammed! Buyer beware !!!

Update: Orange Elephant actually pulled a fly by night, they took the money from so many people and ran. If you've paid them and are waiting for a roof, contact John Crotts at Farmers Law Firm.

Short story: If you are reading this in 2024 or early 2025, I’d recommend finding a different company.

The good: Kim Florian and Jared are nice people who are pretty patient. They patched the holes promptly. The men who came out were kind to my children.

My story: I signed a contract with OER mid June 2024 after the microburst. After some (a LOT of) pressing and pushing, I was finally told at the end of September that my estimated date of roofing repair was mid-December (6 months after signing that they would fix my roof).

I find it dishonest to not disclose that the company was backed up six months. If I had known that they were that backed up, I would have called other companies. Daniel Luck, head of the SC branch, told me they’d fix my roof the last week of September. They never showed, never called. When I called them, there was no indication that they were ever going to fix my roof in September. Daniel later told me, that the Corporate office must have changed it, and they are the final say in who gets serviced when.

In my 3+ months of working with them, and asking for an ITEMIZED list of what they were fixing and what they were charging, they were completely unable to do this. This really messed with my secondary insurance payment. Kim said they’ve never done this. All they could do was highlight and initial the areas on my settlement they were covering. At the end of September, after talking to the VP of the entire company, I finally got an itemized list, and it was completely wrong. They took credit for every single item on the settlement. At that point, I decided I was done. I don’t want to support this business anymore.

From my experience with this company, they have more office workers than field crews. They have too many departments, so that no matter who you call, no one knows exactly what’s going on. Apparently, in June, their production manager left, and they hired someone else who didn’t meet expectations, and that person was fired in September. I was also told that one of their field repair crews moved elsewhere. So, the company is in a time of transition and not meeting their obligations, IMO. As of September 30th, I have requested to cancel my contract with them. It’s a 6-8 week timeframe from them to return my deposit of half down + all of my deductible (unacceptable-it didn’t take me that long to pay them). I haven’t heard if they are going to charge me for canceling yet.

I have a hole in my house roof, my detached garage roof, and holes in my siding with exposed interior wood structures. I am having continued damage and exposure to rain and interior moisture due to their failure to fix my roof. In case you’re not aware, it is recommend to have the roof fixed before other repairs so that you don’t fix the symptoms only for them to return due to ignoring the root of the problem. Forcing me to wait six months before fixing my roof without informing me, seems so rude. Unfortunately, my available money for fixing this is tied up in their accounts.

Sorry for the essay, I did try to keep it short.

Told them I wanted to fix sagging roof ridge and address mold issues from leak while they were doing roof. They didn't do it and then came to with some b.s. excuse, didn't treat mold, soft spots all over where they didn't replace the substrate, and didn't hang gutters correctly. Now when it rains I have water running down behind gutters. They're inspector almost went through my ceiling many times walking in attic while I was showing him they didn't treat the mold. I refused to sign the release stating they weren't finished with the job and I believe they signed it for me because that was about 3 years ago and I haven't heard from them until now when they wanted a review. Also, I think the shingles they used is very poor quality because my gutters are constantly filling up with asphalt. However this is my first house so I'm not completely sure what's normal. Regardless, they are ambulance chasers (came knocking after a hail storm) and you get you get. It's no wonder that they sent out these review requests THE DAY BEFORE hurricane Helene made landfall.

Orange elephant did a great job on my roof! I had some damage that was causing a leak in my living room and they fixed it right up. Their team was very professional and efficient and kept me informed throughout the entire process. They did great work and had awesome customer service. I would definitely recommend them.

This is my 2nd review of orange elephant. After they received my deposit from me and the insurance company they have been non existent and very unprofessional. No communication from them they don't return phone calls or emails. I lucky did get a hold of someone a few times and each time it's always some lame excuse so n so was sick or out or they don't work here anymore I'll call you back and they never do
This behavior goes all the way to the corporate office they do the same thing. DO NOT believe or do business with these crooks!

This is an scam company, DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY, they came to my house and convinced me to make an insurance claim, then took all the insurance money ($18000) and my deductible ($2500) and disappeared and won't the vice president of the company Kaity Gribben won't answer my calls. RUN FROM THIS PEOPLE.

This company gave outstanding service from start to finish. I couldn’t be more pleased by the service of my sales rep, Kim Florian, who explained exactly what I needed to know to have my damage covered by insurance - NOT out of pocket. Then their supervisor met with my insurance adjuster to ensure proper coverage and warranted a full replacement of my roofing system when I had no idea there was storm damage! We even ended up receiving new gutters through insurance. Jared and Daniel were amazing throughout the production process & Marilyn handled everything to make final inspection approval go smoothly. I highly recommend Orange Elephant to all Summerville residents!

If I could give zero stars I would. Highly do not recommend. My mom has been fighting them to get her roof done for months now and she has had nothing but them giving her the runaround. I called trying to talk to some about it and a guy answered the phone had an attitude with me from the start because I asked to talk now instead of being called back. After I asked about it he started yelling saying this is the 3rd time you have called and saying he is trying to get others done to get to ours but supposedly ours was ready to go a month ago. We need answers and this roof we have paid for or our money back.

I had a wonderful experience with Orange elephant roofing. The team arrived early morning and we’re completely finished by 3 PM. They cleaned up everything with no problems. Our contact person, Kim, was wonderful. She kept me up-to-date on everything and handled the insurance stuff (would’ve drove me nuts if I had to do it On my own). You would love her on your side! I strongly recommend orange elephant And definitely Kim!

I’m in the service industry and understand how important communication is. The Orange Elephant team didn’t disappoint when it came to this! Richard was the “front man” and he was great at explaining the process and making sure we understood everything. Jared headed up the team that actually replaced our roof and they are some hard working folks!! Throughout the process, John, Daniel and Marilyn made sure we were kept up to date on delivery and work schedules. We are very satisfied with how this went from start to finish and would highly recommend!!

Experience was fantastic! I was a little hesitant due to all the coordination with all parties involved, but Kim and Jared made the entire process very seamless very easy, taking care of all the coordination and communications themselves so I didn't have to. The work crew was great and left my yard very clean after all the work was completed. Very happy with all aspects of the work and people involved!

My roof was 17 years old, original builder grade. Was getting a lot of knocks and roofer cards left at the door. Who and how to choose was overwhelming, let alone the cost factor.
I am so glad Orange Elephant came along. Kim Florian walked me thru the insurance process. Everything she said came to fruition with a beautiful much improved roof a couple months later. Those doing the labor were very professional. They found some rotting wood and fixed those. I am definitely better off. I wasn't sure since I'm in Myrtle Beach and reviews were from Charleston. No worries. They did an excellent job. I am so appreciative of their care. BTW, permitting is tricky in Horry County. That's still outstanding but they are learning the area. Most importantly, communication was good and they delivered as they promised. Recommend.

This company uses scam tactics to try to get in your door and sell you a roof. They claim I called them to come by even showing me a fake message on their phone. Some real shady business going on here - because of these actions I will never use this company.

Our honest opinion of this company and why it is wise for us to encourage others to use them. They do excellent work. We are very pleased with our new roof. Their workers and their work ethics are phenomenal. We observed every worker was on schedule and at all time occupied, no loitering and good teamwork. Our new roof was installed in a timely manner as scheduled/promised, cleanup was exceptional We collaborated with them and our Insurance company and had a great outcome. Representatives Richard Kerr and Tripp Fairey of Orange Elephant Roofing company are two incredible guys to work with, they both were instrumental throughout this activity. Orange Elephant Roofing is the way to GO.

I wanted to recommend the group that I worked with at Orange Elephant Roofing. Alex Washington, Josie, and Jared were all very professional. They did anything that was required to overcome all obstacles that arose during the installation of my new roof. I appreciated their dedication to the completion the job.

I knew I need to get the shingles replaced. They had been on my roof for over 20 years, and I'd lost a few of them already. Had a lot of salespeople knock on my door but Boyd Culver was the first one I met that I felt I trusted.

I cannot climb ladders due to a busted knee, but he went up, took pictures and came back to talk to me about the damage he saw. He even found some things that I did not know my policy covered, like ripped screens over the windows all covered by insurance and my deductible. Boyd called my insurance, handled the initial claim. Orange elephant had a guy go up on the roof with my insurance adjuster and within a day or two, my claim was approved. New shingles and some roof modification to bring it up to code all covered by insurance. I had several choices as to color and style of shingle. HOA approved it with no questions.

On the day the work was scheduled, the crew showed up and immediately got to work. These guys do not mess around. They work hard and no what they are doing. Within 7 to 8 hours, they had the new roof on, the yard cleaned, and everything taken away. So far, I have found maybe ONE nail they missed.

I have recommended them to my neighbors, and I do the same to those who read this.

our new roof is wonderful. orange Elephant employees were helpful, courteous and efficient. There was a small problem with some glue showing and they came out next day and fixed to our satisfaction.. They even painted the exhaust pipes to match new shingles!! Daniel was helpful when the insurance company fell behind on processing the final check. Helping me find a contact person since the original contact was no longer employee with the adjuster.. Thank you again. Great Job!!!

My roof needed a replacement and we were lucky enough to have Boyd Culver come up and offer to help us get approved through our insurance company. Boyd has been a blessing from God, not only did he help get us money for a new roof he also helped get us approved for repairs to our ceiling. Him walking us through the entire process and helping us select what to get for our roof has been invaluable and we couldn’t have done it without him and Orange Elephants. These guys are professional and easy to work with and I highly recommend them for getting your roof fixed or replaced!

I was dealing with some guy name Ed for about a month to get my roof fix because is under warranty and Ed did noting but to set dates where no one showed up, Daniel Luck was hire after Ed was fired and someone showed up in the same day, best guy to deal with if you need your roof fix under warranty. Thanks Daniel!

Arrived on time and efficiently stripped down the roof and completed a new roof all in the same day. Did good cleanup as well. Also want to shout out Kim for a great sales experience and Jared, Ed, and Trip for a successful and professional experience on my roof replacement. Great job everyone!

Although it took a little while to get the task going, when they did it, they were professional, the installation was also significantly better than my last roofer and had no after installation issues to date. They also replaced some worn out wood underneath and fixed a hole in the wood which the last roofing company did not. The Dynasty Atlantic Blue Class 3 upgraded shingles also look excellent with my white house.

Boyd was very friendly and supportive. He assured me that our insurance would cover our roof and he was absolutely right. He has kept up with everything that’s happening and kept me informed. Such a nice and thoughtful young man

Our roof is less than 3 years old. I called 6 weeks ago due to shingles already missing. I’ve been lied to about someone coming to look at my room…(you can’t lie in a time where everyone has cameras), so many failed attempts at getting a returned call. I finally was told earlier this week someone would be out today to fix my roof. I was called at 6:30pm and told they wouldn’t be to my home till 8:30. At 8:50 they came to my home and asked where the shingles were. That the company was supposed to supply them and they would be here. Another day of my roof not being fixed and horrible communication and customer service.

I'm grateful for Hunter and Chad assisting us in getting our roof replaced through our insurance company in November 2023. I was referred to Orange Elephant by my sister who also had her roof replaced by the company. Because of her referral, I was told she would receive a $250 gift card, unfortunately that never and has not happened! I have been reaching out to the company via text, calls and emails for almost a year and absolutely no one has responded to me with an update on her gift card. Your response to your customers is less than one star especially since I've been reaching out to Marilyn, Rose and Daniel Luck on a monthly basis! And today, Mr. Luck's emails are returned as "failed". If I had to do this again it would NEVER be with Orange Elephant.

Richard has been extremely helpful and has made this entire process very easy. We are looking forward to working with Jared and are excited for our new roof!

Spoke with Mr. James Fairey this afternoon. Our family is in the middle of selling our house, and James knocked on the door and gave us a rundown on how Orange Elephant works. This would be extremely beneficial for a new roof and he explained in detail how the insurance/retail would work. I would highly recommend.

Just wanted to say that James Fairey is great! Very professional and a kind gentleman. Didn’t end up going through with the roof but would recommend him to all my peers!! Absolutely love using GAF over IKO and will be using you guys in the near future!!

The thought of having my roof replaced was scary and stressful. Kim, Markus, and Jared have been wonderful to work with from the initial meeting to the final inspection for my roof replacement. Orange Elephant Roofing installed a new roof on our home after a Hurricane in 2019. They worked with our insurance company very well and handled everything. As we’re now selling the home, a few minor issues were noted during the inspection and OE came right out to assess and fix with the roof still under warranty. They provided formal letters and pictures for the inspection as well. Jared did the assessment and fixes while Morgan drafted all the admin paperwork. Both were very professional and personable. Highly recommend!

Initially I set up an inspection and then chose to work with them after comparing their competitors. When Ryan came out he was friendly approachable and very informative. He help me through the process from beginning to end. The management team Edgar and Supervisor Jared worked together on the day of Installation to ease my worries. I had lots of questions once again and they always took time to answer them. Top notch service…It was a one day process, I was very impressed with how clean they left my property when they were done. New Roof looks like a new home! I highly recommended Orange Elephant Roofing for any of your Roofing needs.

Orange elephant is the best thing that has happened to Charleston in the roofing industry. Daniel Luck (General Manager) and Edgar Martinez (Production Manager) are a dynamic duo. They have amazing communication skills and light to take care of any problems immediately and effectively. Jared Edward's is part of their production team and came out personally to look at a site on my roof that I thought might be a problem. I was shocked to get just about same a day service in this fast growing area. Morgan Baker was a lovely lady that I spoke with in the office and was so respectful and responsive. The thing that impressed me the most was that their project manager Edgar Martinez was able to fix a problem with my mother's home here locally while he was out of state. He said send me the pictures and next thing you know a crew was fixing it. This whole team is a great asset to our beloved low country community!

From start to finish they were nothing but professional. This was a replacement due to wind damage and they worked with me and my insurance company. I was pleasantly surprised with how fast they finished, completed the same day and left the property in better condition than when they started. First time ever having a roof replaced. Eric White (sale representative) was very nice and knowledgeable about the roofing products and explained things clearly was great with keeping us up to date on what was happening and answered any questions we had. Jared Edwards and his crew got it done in 5 hours and did a excellent job with the clean up too. Made sure everything was cleaned up and even leaf blowed our walk way off all nails and old roofing prices were picked up as well.

EDIT!!! Don't get it they lied telling us the roof is covered under warranty for 30 years and said it'd be covered from natural causes but it's not! It's only covered for the job they did for 30. They lied saying our roof was damaged from hail two years ago just so they get money from our home insurance company!!!
