Excellent communication from everyone I dealt with, start to finish. They were patient with all my questions and were very transparent about costs. Not to mention, my roof turned out beautiful. MMR has been added to my very short list of contractors that are easy to deal with and do good work. They even have one of the cleanest CCB records I've seen. My partner and I are first time home buyers and we had a great experience with everyone at the Mountaintop team. Damon walked us through the different options and helped us find the right fit for our house and our budget. Kailey, Sage, and the office team did a great job coordinating with us and getting the logistics worked out. Gene and the install crew worked very efficiently, were fun to chat with, and did a wonderful job on the install. We’re very excited for our aluminum shingle roof. 10 out of 10 would recommend if you’re able to make the investment.

Outstanding communication by the scheduler, the office, the estimator, the manager of the job. At the end of every day photos were sent of that days progress. The roofers were always punctual and cleaned up after every day. The final photos show a quality installation of a raised-seam aluminum metal roof. The job was expensive but you get what you pay for and this company delivered !

Roof replacement is a big investment!
We had a few bids, but decided to go with Mountaintop Roofing because of their professionalism and follow up. They are not the cheapest, but I think their price is fair. Sales was low pressure and they did not lambast their competitors. We are very pleased with the workmanship. Mike answered all of our questions promptly while Kailey apprised us of plans. Joseph and Yuri delivered on the promise and worked long hours to complete the job ahead of schedule. We can finally enjoy our back porch without worrying about leaks. Thank you!

We had a great experience working with Mountaintop. They were very communicative throughout the process. They explained the roofing products well and were honest about the cost differences between metal and composition roofs. I had three quotes from composition roofs, and we decided the extra cost for metal would be worth it since we won’t have to reroof again. We’re really happy with the end result. We went with terracotta red and a smooth shingle, and it makes us smile every time we see it when we pull up to the house. I’d say if you can swing it, go for it.

Reached out to Mountaintop in 2023 and got a great, detailed sales pitch and estimate but wasn't quite ready to move forward. Team was on time each day, efficient, and cleaned up before leaving for the day which I appreciated very much.

We just got a fabulous new metal roof from Mountain top roofing. We are very happy with the outcome. Gene and his crew were professional with strong work ethic. They were here sunup to sundown working very hard. Their work is rock solid! They did everything to get the job done well and fast. It only took three days. Outstanding experience with Mountaintop Metal Roofing. Our roof and the underlying insulation was initially installed completely wrong. They helped us by working directly with the insulation crew that we hired to coordinate work schedules and come up with the best solutions for the entire top of our home. Execution was flawless - they coordinated everything well ahead of time and communicated very well so that we knew what to expect and when. They worked out all the details with our insulation crew so that the installation went on schedule. Our roof is now better insulated and ventilated, and looks beautiful. I never thought I could love a metal roof this much. I could not be happier that we used Mountain Top. From the initial consult to the final install they were super easy to work with. We got slate color aluminum shingles and they look stellar. Plus we just had some hot days here in Portland and the aluminum roof is keeping interior of our home notably cooler. I really stressed over making a roofing decision. Got bids from multiple roofing companies for composite shingles and standing seam metal roofs. Finally went with Mountaintop Metal Roofing and I am so glad I did. The project manager, Mike Torres, is a straight-up guy and Kailey at the office kept me informed every step of the way. The crew lead, Gene the Roofing Machine, was meticulous and a very nice guy. Enjoyed having him and his assistant around for the 4 days it took to complete the job. The metal shingle roof was about twice as expensive as the higher end composite laminate shingles and about the same price as standing seam metal roofs (I personally do not like the look of standing seam metal roofs). Ultimately, I decided metal was worth it so I would not have to pay hundreds of dollars for yearly roof cleaning and moss prevention or deal with composite roofs that don't last as promised with warranties that are useless (GAF requires warranties to be transferred within 1 year of sale of the home so they didn't cover my supposedly 50 year guaranteed roof when it failed at 17 years). Not having to replace another roof in my lifetime was also an attractive proposition. But the real reward is how beautiful the roof is. Never thought I would think a roof is beautiful but mine is! Went with black slate tile design. It hasn't rained yet so I can't comment on whether or not a metal roof is annoyingly loud in the rain--will update when/if I can. An added bonus was that Gene helped me figure out why I had rot around a front window (due to poor engineering when the previous owners added a portico over the front porch). MMR was willing to pause the work before finishing the small section of roof on the portico, clean up completely and come back after I had a contractor come out to fix the problem. That kind of flexibility is incredibly appreciated and shows just how seriously they take customer service. Take the leap and go with Mountaintop Metal Roofing.

Love our Regal Brown PermaLock “slate” styled aluminum roof. Mike was a breeze to work with during the selection process; he was able to share various examples of Mountaintop roofs in Portland that we were able to visit in person to help us make a decision. We depended heavily on Kailey for scheduling and forwarding our questions to the installers (thanks Kailey!). Installers drove down from Seattle; be sure to establish your expectations up front for a smooth installation (i.e. what plants/trees not to damage or where soffits should be installed). When you hire gutter installers, make absolutely sure to forward Mountaintop’s instructions to the gutter installers if they are not familiar with PermaLock. Protect your investment. I'm a architectural designer building my second home in a rural area. I needed a metal roof that I was never going to worry about in a place with lots of rain, can receive up to four feet of snow in one storm and is in a fire prone area in the summer. Replacing your roof is a major undertaking and a huge cost. I called around to three different companies and explained what I wanted. We went with Mountain Top Metal because they seem the most experienced and they were reasonable in price. Max was our crew leader and point of contact and he was terrific. You could tell he was incredibly experienced, in fact he owned his own roofing business previously, and that he really liked this company. One thing they do that is great is Max was our point of contact the entire time. He didn't subcontract out, it was his team.

The front desk was great and very communicative about planning when the roof would be replaced. They were always very responsive.

The actual roof replacement took only two weeks which is impressive. The team was courteous, professional, and competent. All the men were very hard-working and completely respectful of the residents. Vitally was the lead of one team and he was also super experienced and capable.

The finished roof is absolutely spectacular! We really wanted to have an aluminum roof because that's what we had previously. The material looks terrific, and they have a lifetime guarantee for this particular material. Very few roofing companies in Seattle do metal roofs. Apparently there are more now because it's such a great material, but Mountain Top Metal has been doing metal roofs for a long time. It's in their name!

I am very impressed on how hard they worked. They started about 08:00 and would work until almost dark, about 18:00. And clean up every night.
They tore off the old and leaking roof, fixed what needed to be fixed. Replaced two skylights, and installed a new forever metal roof.

I’m very happy with my new roof. I know it’s well-installed and will hold up to any weather. I appreciate that the original person who installed my metal roof came back to also do the additional 7X10-foot PVC area too. He did a good job, and was very polite, and every last bit of work material was cleaned up afterward. We shopped around to find a company to install a metal roof after we found out the outrageous cost of getting our roof cleaned every one to two years. We thought we found another company to contact until we found Mountaintop Metal Roofing and realized they would be the best choice. We are very excited and impressed with the work that Glenn’s crew did installing our metal roof! From the beginning, we were impressed that Glenn, the owner, came out to give us an estimate for the roof. Glenn showed us a variety of roof choices and even suggested a color that would go best with the color of our house, and it was the perfect choice for us! Glenn’s two man crew were friendly, worked hard, and did a great job cleaning up daily. We have six skylights and found out some needed to be replaced, which added to the cost, but the prices for the skylights was reasonable. We opted to replace them all at the same time and we felt better to have this consistency as the roof was being replaced. The crew was dedicated and stayed each day until 7:00 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. There were a few times I emailed Glenn with questions and on one occasion, he emailed back on a Sunday, which impressed me. I also called with a question one evening and he called back in 10 minutes. I was also impressed when the crew asked for paint to touch up where needed after installing the roof. They put a tarp on our new deck to protect it. What surprised us and pleased us the most was when the roof was finished, since they are shingle shaped, you couldn’t tell they were aluminum instead! It looks so clean and beautiful! It was also wonderful to know it comes with a lifetime warranty that will transfer to the next owner when we sell someday. Glenn came out the day the roof was finished and took pictures using a drone and sent us copies of pictures and drone videos. We are also pleased to see when it rains, we do not hear any difference! A metal roof is more expensive than a traditional composite shingle roof, but we wanted the durability and environmental friendliness of a metal roof. Because it's more expensive, we wanted to be sure we got a good deal and it was installed well. The folks at Mountaintop were friendly, professional, and quick! And the solar tube they installed has really made a difference in our (once dark) living room! We totally recommend Mountaintop to those looking for a metal roof.

Company has excellent communication. Workers are top notch, hard working and very professional. They send photo's to the owner daily to show the progress. Owner calls every other day to check in with the customer. After the job is finished the workers ask if we have any questions before they leave. The owner then comes out once again to check the work and check in with the customer before being paid. This was the best experience ever with a contractor. Mountain Top Metal Roofing is a great company to work with. Glenn was very knowledgeable about the product and how to install it. Even though his crew had to drive 100 miles to the job site, they arrived when they said they would and put in a full day of work. When they left in the evening, they always left the house weather tight overnight and swept the porch and organized and covered their supplies. Everone at Mountain Top was polite, respectful of our property and kept us informed of progress and procedures. We would use them again if we needed work done.

For those considering a higher end, aluminum roof, I strongly recommended Mountaintop Metal Roofing. They coordinated work with our gutter contractor, had amazing communication through the whole process and the roof looks amazing! I've never worked with such a great contractor and crew, they have many years experience with this specialty roofing.

We choose the roof we did as we found we were not a fan of typical rolled roofs & decided against typical composition. This looks more like tile w style. Very high wind rating, no more moss cleaning, energy efficient, fire resistant, 50yr roof and no rusting concerns. Best of all, it's beautiful, who knew a roof could look so nice.

Glenn was very easy to work with. He was very cheerful, pleasant, helpful and professional. His crew were equally so. They worked on my roof in very hot weather and were always smiling and cheerful. You don't need to spend weeks chasing down this contractor, as I have with many others. And his crew came in and finished an estimated 3-day job in 1.5 days.

We live in rural Oregon, in a house nearly a quarter century old. The age and condition of the original roof, and the increasing danger of wildfires, made us consider a metal roof option. We contacted multiple specialty companies, interviewed two, and eventually chose Mountaintop Metal Roofing.

Double checking with the roof-tile manufacturer gave us added confidence in Glenn Boss, Mountaintop’s owner. Glenn also came highly recommended by neighbors whose roof he had recently installed. At the interview, Glenn walked us through the planning and installation process, knowledgeably and without pressure. He helped us choose the specific metal tile, by giving us a sample and pointing us to addresses with roofs he had installed. He also committed to coordinate with the solar company, which had to disassemble and re-assemble our solar panels.

When the COVID-19 pandemic slowed our decision process, Glenn waited patiently. Once we gave him the green light, he honored his original quote, even if it had formally expired. He followed through with excellent planning, coordination, and execution. At no point in the process did we feel uneasy or rushed, rather always feeling informed, listened to, and pleased with the on-time progress.

The two-person crew that came do the installation was extremely hard-working, polite and respectful of our ‘no contact’ request. As we worked outside in our vegetable gardens and trees, we could watch as they made fast yet careful progress. They also coordinated very well with the solar company, in all logistics—making it rather painless for us. The crew cleaned up installation debris as they went, and quite thoroughly, leaving all surroundings in great shape when they departed daily and at the end of the installation. They completed the work in a few hours less than the four full days that they had anticipated.

The metal roof was installed on top of the original one, an environmentally sound option. The result is very attractive, and the attention to detail is noticeable. The roof was concluded just ahead of the September 2020 major winds and wildfires in Oregon, and withstood gust of 60 miles per hour or so without any apparent glitch. All the documentation that we asked for was or is being provided, and the lines of communication remain open and clear.

We are extremely pleased with our decision to install a metal roof, and with the work of Mountaintop. This was a very low-stress experience, with an outcome that adds to the safety, appearance and value of our house.

Mountaintop Metal Roofing did an amazing job start to finish. Glenn’s team was prompt every day starting early and working late to get the job done. They were always very pleasant, often times checking in with us before and after their workday. When we decided to replace the roof on our 1944 bungalow, we wanted to try and get a metal roof. We did some research on our own, but Glenn spent time with us to educate us on the product and our options. He took a look at our roof, answered questions, and taught us about how it was constructed. The same day we got a material recommendation. He also clearly priced so we understood a breakdown of cost and process. In the end it wasn’t much more expensive than a composite roof but it’s going to last much much longer.

The company is fairly new so I did my due diligence to look into the owner and company. I did everything except call his mom for a character reference.

We had a date for a material arrival and an expected start date less than a week later. We lucked out with the weather and Glenn was able to be present for material delivery and the start of the project. The work itself went pretty smoothly. Glenn was there every day and communicated clearly via text or phone call as needed. This was very important to us and we never felt like we were out of the loop and he listened to and addressed any concerns we had along the way.

After the roof was installed, Glenn caught an inconsistency and had a crew member come back to correct it. He also recommended a gutter company that knew how to work with metal roofs.

We are very pleased with what we chose and the house looks great. We bought a quirky house and this has gone a long way to improving the look and curb appeal. As days are warming up, we’ve noticed that our top floor stays cooler than it usually does. Highly recommend Glenn and his team.

I just got my roof replaced by Mountaintop Metal. Having decided that a roof replacement was next on my list of home improvements, I requested bids from several companies, including two that specialized in metal roofs.

The metal roofing bids were comparable. The cost of a metal roof is significantly higher, but having “inherited” several layers of worn-out and crumbling cedar/asphalt/composite layers, I gravitated towards the longevity, sustainability, and low-maintenance aspects of metal. After a few discussions with Glenn, I opted for Mountaintop Metal.

Given the cost of the project, I was a little neurotic leading up to installation day. Glenn handled all my questions calmly and generously. He was also proactive about communicating timelines and delivery dates, etc. The installation itself went smoothly. The team was personable on the ground and conscientious about the work itself and the clean up after.
I was initially worried that the black material would be too dark, but I really like the final look. Depending on the quality of the light hitting the matte finish, the color of the roof shifts slightly; it’s really lovely.

I only have two regrets:
1. I had skip sheathing, so the roof tear off resulted in quite a bit of debris in the garage and attic – I wish I had thought to put down some plastic beforehand.
2. As a new homeowner, I’m developing my rolodex of local go-to contractors with whom I’ve had a positive experience. Unfortunately I’ve only got the one roof (which will last decades) and therefore limited opportunity to be a repeat customer.

We have been in the market for a new roof for the last six months and sought a number of bids from a variety of companies.
