I recently had my house roof updated by the West Coast Roofing and Painting. The new roof looks beautiful (refer to the pictures). The entire crew did an amazing job to complete the work on time and avoided the rain the next morning. Everyone in the crew was very courteous and extremely hard-working. They also kept the job site clean and organized both days, even my neighbor noticed that. :)
You might wonder how their quote compares to other roofing companies? I asked three roofing companies to give me their quotes. West Coast Roofing's estimate was competitive. they were just a tiny bit higher than the other company's quote (within $100 difference) based on the same brand and same grade of the shingles and everything else on the contract. I had to choose one company from the two very close bids. The estimator, Josue, made it easy for my decision. Josue, who was a very experienced roofer himself, climbed up to my house roof and took pictures to show me the windstorm damages to my roof, and then he gave me his recommendations. The other company's estimator looked around my house and from the other side of the road and that was it. I value Josue's efforts in earning every potential business contract including mine. Lastly, everyone I interacted in this company was friendly and very happy to help their clients, From Zury who answered numerous questions for me on the phone, to Roy and Eric, the crew leads, and the rest of the crew members who I don't have their names with, I appreciate your hard work. I'd recommend West Coast Roofing & Painting to my friends and neighbors.

This Company is very good. I had my roof replaced 5 years ago and just had an issue with a water leak. I called them and they were out the next day. In less than 30 minutes they identified the water problem which wasn't from the roof. They offered me a very inexpensive solution and had my problem taken care of in a matter of 45 minutes. Best service ever. I chose this company for my roof and now how they treated me five years later I have to give them 5 stars and a few more. Thank you West Coast!!

We just bought a house in Portland, Oregon. I noticed an area where the gutter was leaking and a second area where some shingles were becoming detached. On the advice of a contractor I’ve used, I called Fermin at West Coast Roofing. He came out the next day and inspected the areas. He scheduled the work for the first day that weather would allow. The crew arrived on time, went right to work and fixed the problems. The price was as quoted and the work was just great! They even did some touch up painting and cleaned up throughly. I wouldn’t hesitate to unconditionally recommend them for any job big or small. They are very nice people who absolutely know roofing and painting.

Josue, our rep, was very friendly, communicative, and professional from beginning to end. He did an exterior and interior inspection during our consultation phase, put together a number of estimates with different levels of roofing material and warranty options to meet our budget, and was very honest about his recommendations--he did not try to upsell us on anything as a couple of other companies had. Josue kept us up-to-date on our timeline (to avoid the rain as we installed in October) and checked in on our project daily once our project commenced.

The crew who came to install our roof were polite and respectful of our property, and worked to make sure our exterior was carefully tidied up after each day (we have a dog so very much appreciated the effort).

Overall, it was a very efficient process with WCR&P, and I would absolutely recommend them.

West Coast Roofing and Painting laid down new membrane and flashing on the flat roof over my garage about 10 years ago and did a great job. They recently came out to assess how it was performing and were really great at pointing out where to look for signs of concern. Fermin was very easy to work with and a good communicator. West Coast Roofing and Painting was fantastic! They replaced our worn out roofing in a few days. I received quotes from other roofing companies and decided to go with WCRP. I'm so glad I did. We had a fantastic experience with West Coast Roofing during our recent roof replacement. Amazing Experience… I still can’t believe it!
First, I chose this company (I got 3 bids) because of the professionalism, patience and knowledge of estimator Josue Sanchez. It wasn’t the least expensive bid, (they were all pretty close) I chose them because of my feeling of trust and safety.
Second? The crew was FANTASTIC, and WAY beyond my expectations. Alejandro and Eduardo❤️ (there were more crew members) went ABOVE and BEYOND what I could have hoped or imagined to expect. They worked safely (super tall ladders) and physically hard in hot temperatures. They communicated with me so efficiently. They did a perfect job, were so friendly and patient and so darling to have on my property. They did such a good job I worried they would charge me more than what was estimated but the cost was exactly what was estimated.

At the hottest part of last summer, this crew worked extremely hard to finish our roof. They did exactly what they said they would, I would not hesitate to recommend them fully!

I own a small flat roof commercial building in North Portland. I hired this company to re-roof half of my roof after having them do the other half several years ago. Though the quality of the roof work was mostly okay both times, with the recent project, I had surveillance camera wires running to locations all around the perimeter of the roof. I planned to replace all the camera wires after the roof was replaced. Since I am not a roofer, I did not know how much instruction I needed to give the company regarding these camera wires, but it seems they had to remove these metal panels on sides of roof through which wires were routed. When they put them back together, they did not line them up the way they were originally, and they trapped the camera wires between metal, plywood, and new roofing material, taking up all the slack I had left for future re-wiring. One camera went out the day they replaced the roof (see photo showing wire sticking out below metal panel with screw going through wire). Other cameras could not be unmounted from their locations for re-wiring because slack was gone and wires were trapped. Overall, this is costing me $2000 in time and materials (for a project costing $6052) because of their carelessness.

I have emailed the owner Fermin twice, called, and text messaged this company asking if they will do anything to make this right and have gotten no response. When I call I get a lot of ringing and clicking and eventually get hung up on. Though I received a call back I was unable to answer and it went to voicemail. In the voicemail, Lily addressed me by name, but did not acknowledge that there is a customer service issue. She told me to reply by phone or text, and I replied by text but got no response.

The work seems okay, but the customer service is completely unacceptable.

Yes get multiple bids. Five stars to West Coast Roofing and Painting for quality workmanship, pleasant, best price, timely, thorough cleanup each evening for my shingles project plus new gutters. Five stars for everything. I got three bids. West Coast bid $22,123 ($16k shingles, $4,640 for aluminum gutters, plus tax). West Coast included the “Emerald Premium 50yr non-prorated 25yr Malarkey Workmanship warrant”. I got another bid, from IBEX Roof, $28,623 for the same Melarkey Vista shingles system and was told gutters would be around $9k which I knew was too high so I didn’t have them finalize that bid. I provided the West Coast quote to IBEX to see if IBEX would honor their meet-or-beat price match policy. IBEX lowered their price to $23,980 but not meet-or-beat price because IBEX claimed the IBEX 20 yrs warranty is better than the 50yrs/25yrs workmanship warranty in the West Coast bid. My third bid was from Left Coast Exteriors -- $21,575 for lower quality 10yr warranty Cambridge shingles, at a higher price than the better shingles I purchased from West Coast. West Coast had the old steel gutters picked up by a metal recycler so they didn’t go to a landfill.

We had an excellent experience with West Coast Roofing & Painting. They installed a new roof for us. Our house is old. The roof is very steep in some places and very shallow in others. We live on a busy street with limited space for setting up equipment. They made the situation work with no problems. They worked efficiently and did quality work.

The best part of our experience, hands down, was our interactions with our consultant, Josué Sanchez. He responded to all of our messages quickly and thoughtfully. Josué really went above and beyond to make the experience an excellent one for us.

These guys did a good job in good time and on estimate. Need to carefully monitor communication to be sure your schedules actually work but work is fine.

We had a leak in our skylight and after calling several roofers, no one was able to come give us an estimate for at least a week! Josue Sanchez from West Coast Roofing was able to take a look the next day and clearly explained what needed repair. His estimate was fair and affordable. We are very happy with the work and would highly recommend this business!

West coast did our roof, gutters and exterior painting last month. They had a very fair price and did a great final job. Josué was the lead manager for the overall project and was great. He kept in close contact, answered any questions I had and also was very friendly and accommodating. They even did a little extra work I requested in the attic to help support the roof. They got 4 stars because I had to have the painters go back and redo some things that I didn’t feel they had done well enough. While the final product looks great, I felt like they didn’t have the attention to detail that I would have liked in the prep and final clean up, but they did a good job at the end of the days. I let Josué know and we talked things through and he listened and never questioned things and they came back and made things right for the things we discussed. He accepted the feedback with no conflict, which I appreciated. I would recommend them in general, for roofing and gutters with no hesitation, painting with the comments I have made above.

West Coast Roofing & Painting installed a new roof on my house in February. My experience was positive from beginning to finish, especially working with Josue Gonzalez, consultant.
I was immediately impressed with Josué’s thoroughness when he came to the house for the initial consultation. In addition to visually inspecting the roof from the ground, he climbed up on the roof and took photographs documenting stress areas. He inspected underneath the roof through the crawl space. Josué’s actions were a sharp contrast to another contractor I previously spoke to who simply looked at the roof from the ground. Josué’s actions made my decision to use his company easy.
The before and after photos were extremely helpful in seeing and understanding the condition of the roof.
The work crew arrived early each day and worked continuously in cold, wet weather. They were courteous and the lead was available and easy to communicate with during the project.
About two weeks after the work was done, I noticed a small rip on a back window screen. It looked like it might have been caused by a tool used during the roofing project. I emailed Josue and he responded immediately sending members of his crew to look at the screen. They took the screen and repaired it immediately. I was very impressed by the responsiveness of Josue and the work crew.

Josue missed our first appointment for a bid due to a car accident. He was over an hour late to the redo. Bid was reasonable but when I email him some questions I go no response. Followed up by leaving a phone message. No response. Called the main number and someone answered from what I assume was a vehicle due to all the road noise. They apologized for Josue's lack of response and said they would have him call me. That was Friday and it is now Monday. I called the main number again and got a generic voicemail box so not even 100% sure it belongs to the company. It's been a week since my first email. Is this just going pains or am I witnessing a company imploding?

Fermin and his crew did an outstanding roofing job for us. We discovered the membrane on our old tile roof was failing and there were multiple areas of our house that had been affected by it. Winter was approaching and this was an unexpected home repair. Fermin listened to our concerns and quickly provided a bid to replace the roof, complete repairs and replace three old skylights. They were quick to get started on the job for us and utilized every moment of daylight possible. They did dry rot repairs, replaced damaged sheeting and installed all new fascia boards, ours were in bad shape. They even helped us facilitate gutter removal and reinstallation. Our gutters were only a year old, so the care put into taking care of them in this process was very appreciated. The crew was thoughtful and considerate while removing and reinstalling the new skylights and even helped make modifications to a couple of them. This saved us the extra expense of special-order skylights that were double the cost and would take a while to arrive. The workers are fast and efficient. They communicate well and take great pride in the cleanup of the property at the end of each day. I will recommend West Coast Roofing and Painting to anyone I know that needs a new roof.

They did our roof about 6 years ago and did a great job at that time. Recently I discovered a small leak. I called the office at about 4:00pm and they had a crew out the next day (at 9:00am). They showed up on time, got right to work, found the issue, even went back to shop and found same color shingles, and had everything fixed in less than an hour. Just for the record, the leak was not their fault. Very happy with the service, the employees, and the expertise they exhibited.

This company did amazing job on my neighbor’s houses a few years ago and we decided to give a try .
Installation of new roof was on September 11,2023. We waited a month, because to be clear that the roof isn’t leaking .
We were working directly with the owner Joshua/J- he was communicating with us and working with us to make this project easy to handle .
From the beginning to the end his crew was very good at what they do. They communicated with through out of the day. The crew was working hard, they were very respectful and kind . They always cleaned up at the end of each working day. I was pleased to hear from the neighbors that they even asked to clean up the scraps from their yard.
We never done roof replacement, but Joshua/J helped us out by being very patient, professional, friendly and always answering all my “silly” questions.

We had a great experience with West Coast. We paid about $19,200 (09-2022) for a new roof on a 120 year old house in inner NE Portland. We picked a black Malarkey Windsor Scotchguard (a bit more expensive). Seems like West Coast only does the Malarkey brand? It took them about four full days with like five guys. Install date did get pushed back. I could tell a couple of the guys were juniors and went slower. It was not a white glove service, but still very good. It was a really good price and some extra services were added. Thanks West Coast for the hard work and great service!!

From my initial contact with Fermin, to get a quote, to Yarina, for the admin work, West Coast Roofing has been a pleasure to work with. They were friendly, responsive, on-time, provided quality work and their price was reasonable. West Coast Roofing replaced our roof in October 2021. I had been meaning to write a review for a very long time now, but if there is any benefit to me procrastinating, it’s that I’ve had the opportunity to live with the new roof for a full year now - and have nothing but positive things to say about the experience! I like to research all purchases in detail prior to making the purchase, so before hiring West Coast, I researched all the best roofing companies in Portland and Vancouver to have them bid on the job. West Coast was not only the lowest price, they were also the friendliest, and prided themselves on quality work.
- Fermin, Eduardo, and Alex (plus their crew) were all extremely punctual, professional, and easy to work with.
- They completed the job *ahead of schedule* despite a heavy workload and rain delays!

We have a flat portion of our roof, which is apparently more difficult to install, and it was hard to find a company that would do it. They not only did it, but added slope to it for us so that it's not a flat roof anymore. So awesome! West Coast was very responsive and did a great job quickly getting a new roof on the house and garage as well as painting both the interior and exterior.

West Coast Roofing and Painting was 1 of about 8 bidders on our project, Steve came to the house and was very professional. He answered all my questions and explained the difference between open and closed gutters
and suggested open since we don't have a lot of trees around us. Steve even included a New skylight replacement, due to the age and he still was one to the lower bidders. Once the project started they were right on time and had my old roof (2 layers) removed, fixed all the damaged wood and a brand new roof with new venting and skylight completed in 2 days. They returned the next business day and installed my new gutters. I was kept informed thru the whole project, they found a little more damage then expected. They took pictures of the damaged plywood and there pricing for additional plywood was about 10 dollars a sheet cheaper them any of the other bidders. They cleaned up the yard once finished and it was cleaner then when they started. I couldn't be happier with my new roof and the service I received.

We had a really great experience with West Coast Roofing. They were professional, responsive and maintained good communication. The work looks great. They discovered major damage to the subroof and fixed it in an efficient and fair manner.

We had multiple bids from small companies to some of the “big, high volume companies” that I’ve seen in my neighborhood.

But what set WC Roofing apart started with the estimator Alex Vargas. My first interaction with him for giving me a quote was friendly, approachable, and very thorough at explaining. I liked that he walked the house/garage with me to gather all the information from my home buying inspection report. He also informed me that they use Satellite images to calculate the square footage for ordering the amount of materials. Seemed more precise and that I wasn’t being overcharged for materials. I promptly received a quote within 1-2 days.
When I was debating on shingle colors, he came out again with the shingle sample boards and gave his recommendations. He also followed up with the office to send me addresses so we could drive by completed projects with the 2 different shingle colors.

Once the project began, Alex came onsite to make sure the crew knew about my special garage roof circumstance that I had initially spoken with Alex about and also to give me updates. Everyday the crew cleaned up the nails with a giant magnet and moved their equipment out of the way. Several neighbors told me that the crew was respectful and friendly. I was able to call his cell phone with any questions, something I valved tremendously. Never did I feel like I was bothering him. Since they are also a painting company, they were able to send out a crew at the end of the project to repair and paint my garage ceiling where it had stained from an old leak. Upon completion, he also did a walk through. Throughout the entire project, Alex was prompt in following through and displayed excellent communication. This is one of the biggest reasons I chose WC roofing. Without a doubt, we are very happy that we chose West Coast Roofing!

These guys were incredible from start to finish! Alex was the rep who walked us through the whole project. He was very responsive, honest and came back several times to answer any additional questions we had before even signing the contract. After we signed, he showed up the first day to make sure we were taken care of and came back several times throughout the project and again at the end for the final inspection. I even had a question after the job was complete and we had paid and he was still quick to call back and follow up with me! We are so happy that we went with West Coast Roofing! I called West Coast Roofing when there was a leak in my bathroom after a storm. They explained they were booked for a while but sent someone out in two days for an estimate. Since they were so busy, the scheduler gave me names and numbers of two other local reputable roofing companies.
The estimator found the source of the leak and caulked it for free on the spot. No charge! Will definitely call West Coast with any future roofing needs!

I had West Coast Roofing and Painting replace my aging roof a few years ago.

This past year during heavy rains, some water entered a room in my house. My insurance needed the roofing company to come out and verify the roof was intact. It took more than 2 weeks to send over an inspector, despite calls nearly every day. When the roofers eventually came, they took a few photos and said that the siding was at fault for the leak, not the roof. My insurance requested a report to that effect, which they promised the same day. I called every morning for a week and when I managed to get someone to answer the phone, each time they promised it “soon”. Only when our water repair company contacted them directly did they send the report, which consisted of the photos they took the day-of and a one-sentence summary. There was no reason for the delay.

Ultimately we determined that the source of water entry *was* on the roof. Some mastic was not properly sealed. West Coast did not find this and ultimately caused me months of delays in urgent repairs. Would not hire again.

We worked with Fermin and his team on our brand new roof and exterior paint job. They really delivered. We’d spoken with multiple companies and thanks to the hard work of this team, we were able to get everything we needed done despite the onset of the rainy season. These guys did a fantastic job repainting the exterior of our house. We needed it done fast and they worked us into the schedule within the timeframe we needed. The office staff were courteous and professional and the guys who came out to do the work worked super hard every day. The work was perfect - replacing bad boards, fine painting on hinges, not a bit of paint on anything that wasn't supposed to be painted, and the house really looks brand new. THANK YOU! We had this company replace our 26 year old roof and we are pleased with the service and quality of work that was done. The staff were all helpful and professional and when I called to let them know about some damage inside the skylights they replaced they scheduled to have someone come out to repair them. The staff were very responsive, answered our questions, and took care of the damage inside the skylight wells. The roof looks great and we have peace of mind that it will last a long time. We chose West Coast Roofing to do a full makeover on our duplex: new roof, new gutters & new paint! Bri was great taking care of us through a challenging project with a competitive bid (4-layer tear-off, inclement weather, challenging access). I used West Coast Roofing & Painting to do a tear-off and new roof in August 2020. They did a beautiful job with the roof and we were very pleased. We did have some miscommunication issues between the sales guy and the office, but when I relayed some missed expectations, West Coast came right back out and made things right. Also, I just recently noticed a flaw in the job - they had replaced a piece of plywood at the corner of the roof but neglected to paint it, so it was not protected from the elements. I messaged them about two weeks ago about that. They contacted me immediately, and once we ascertained that it wasn't an urgent issue, they worked us into their normal repair schedule. Eduardo and his helper came out today and went the extra mile to replace that damaged panel and check that there wasn't any moisture in the attic space. All good!

I figure, anyone can hire a roofing company and get a new roof put on. But you don't really know who you're working with until you have a problem that needs fixing. West Coast Roofing has impressed me with their ethical and conscientious approach to their work and to getting the job done right.

West Coast Roofing and Paining was great! Unlike the other companies I met with, they didn't give me a sales pitch, they gave me information. They answered all my question and provided a reasonable quote. They were honest and easy to work with. I hired them to paint the exterior of my house and replace the entire roof. We scheduled a start date for the work and true to their word that's when it started. We had one delay (2 days I think) on the paining due to weather but once the weather cleared up they were back on site. Everyone working was super nice and the site was clean at the end of each day. I can't say enough positive things about West Coast Roofing. Tim the estimator gave me the most information and choices out of the 6 bids I received. His knowledge of their products and fair quote made my pick easy. I had the best crew who did the install better than I could have imagined. My house was built in 1906 and had a lot of challenges but they fixed everything. Their clean up was extremely great and my yard looked nicer than before they started. Very professional team completed my job in less than a week. They were safe even with a very steep pitched roof. I noticed one minor issue once the job was done and the staff was very responsive in sending someone back to resolve it quickly. From signing the contract to finishing the job the communication was consistent and clear.

I received around 10 quotes for my roof. As a former carpenter I knew what I was looking for. I was happy with the quote but more impressed with the install team. Those guys worked hard and I am confident they did the work right. All I needed. Installing a roof isn't rocket science. You just have to follow certain principles which these guys did.

Just bought our home and were looking for a roof replacement and adding gutters to our covered patio. West Coast was able to do our replacement quickly and efficiently. Their crew was great and did a fabulous job cleaning up after the work was done. The gutters came shortly afterwards and, once again, I was very impressed with how quickly and cleanly they got the work done.

We selected West Coast for a new roof and paint on our house. Lucas the estimator was great. Very polite, explained everything that was going to get done. The price was right with them and based on my experience with Lucas, we selected them for the job.

Signed the contract: everything changed

We had a scheduling issue: they did not show up on the day we had scheduled, I had taken the day off from work to be there and no show. Resceduled, fine.

Roofing day: some other crew showed up from another company? This is common in the roofing business but Lucas told me they don’t sub out jobs. Crew backed into the garage, denting garage panel and trim above garage. (Remember that) They said they would take care of it.

Job done, bill immediately emailed, no person contact, no walk through,no email, just an impersonal bill from quickbooks.

I have roofed a house before, I walked around the roof and noticed numerous issues with the workmanship. Had to request a walk through. Lucas showed up,very kind and knowledgable man. Garage door panel replaced $600 for them. I discussed the issues I had with the work with Lucas. He walked the roof and agreed.

We were going to be out of town for 2 weeks and I told them it would be ok to come when we were gone (MISTAKE) They came while we were gone and I got a text they would be doing the work (nice) It was the subcontracted crew

Due to our absence, I could not move the car from the driveway. They asked the house sitter and he is only 15 and doesnt drive. I figured they would take whatever precautions to protect the car. They didnt !!!!

Metal shaving all over brand new car,likely embedded while hot from grinding and rusted. (On video) hold up a tarp Body shop said needed repainted ($2600)

They wanted to see the car so I welcomed them to it. The twenty something looking General manager and the manager showed and the GM tried to tell me that the contaminants were caused by any roofing material, when he learned I had worker on film grinding above the car, he stood down.

Luckily I found an iron removing detailing product that melted the metal shavings away, nothing short of amazing!! Saved them $2600 too!!!

Now onto painting: Sent an email to make sure trim damage was replaced. Told them we were ready for painting Paint crew pressure washed....... a week went by...I called them and explained I was concerned about the window of time for painting as fall was fully here.

They came and painted....... paint ran and was dripping off the house as it rained the next day.

They came and rushed around frantically cleaning it up. Finished painting the next day walk through for a few touch ups prior to them leaving.

All and all the end result of the final product good! The process painful!!! The garage door trim never repaired, I just wanted to be done with them.

We met with several roofing companies before selecting West Coast Roofing. They did an excellent job re-shingling our roof at a reasonable cost. The crew was friendly. and professional. They are certified installers of Malarkey shingles, which were what we wanted.

I was VERY nervous about picking a roofing company since the roof is one of the most important parts of the house. This was such an easy process. West Coast Roofing did my entire roof (about 1500 sf) in 3 days and did a spectacular job. Their pricing was very competitive (I did not want to go with either the most expensive or cheapest option) and the cleanup was impeccable. All roofing material options were explained thoroughly (I have no clue about materials, durability etc.) and they described in detail everything they were doing to the roof. When some issues involving the skylights came up they solved the problem quickly and efficiently.
A few weeks after everything was done I even received a follow up call and again a few months later. I would HIGHLY recommend this company.

We had them put us on their schedule 6 weeks ago so its not like they did a last minute job. They didnt show up the first day. Now day two. Two guys showed up after the delivery of the roofing even though the old roof was still on it. One worked for an hour and has vanished. The other worked for a couple more and has been laying in my yard since lunch. He doesnt speak english so I cant even ask him what is going on.

We were extremely happy with the workmanship and experience having West Coast Roofing & Painting on our project. Their pricing was also reasonably competitive, and they were willing to be flexible with costs as new complications arose with our project. They had been recommended to us from a trusted professional, and they lived up to and went beyond our expectations. What started as a roof replacement on our flat roofed mid century home ended up including some siding work, as damage was uncovered after removing the old roofing materials. Rocky was the foreman on our job, and he and the owner Fermin made sure everything was right - from the custom sized lumber we needed to match the areas that needed to be replaced in our rough hewn douglas fir ceiling, to the way the nails aligned on the clear cedar replacement siding installation. Even after the job was completed and signed off on, when I found something I wasn't happy with, they were very responsive and came out personally to review and discuss remedy options - which we are very happy with. The crew was professional and friendly, and each evening they left our property neat and clean. We will gladly work with them again for any future needs.
