Tom Leach Roofing did a tremendous job on the replacement of our challenging and steep roof of our 1930 home.

The foreperson, Juan, was communicative, friendly, and helpful throughout the almost two week job that first involved removal of multiple layers of older roofing. The whole crew worked very hard to get the job done in a timely way during a break in winter weather, while also working to minimize the disruption.

The manager of the more administrative side, Aaron, was also extremely responsive, communicative, and helpful throughout.

These are highly competent and reliable pros.

I'll be honest, I called the roofing companies before calling Tom Leach.
I was impressed with Tom Leach's prompt response to my request for a bid. Their estimator came out exactly at the agreed upon time, measured, talked me through all the variables and sent the bid two days later. We had to wait a month to schedule but they were able to start two weeks after we agreed. They arrived precisely when they said they would. They were efficient, clean and very professional. The installer called me twice with conundrums regarding the existing facia boards. He had a solution in mind and I basically signed off on it and they implemented it straight away. He called again to ask if I would like additional roof vents for the bathrooms that didn't exist before. I was grateful as this had slipped my mind.
They did all this and completed a very pleasant, professional, and thorough job.

This company stands in contrast to so many "roofers" who can't seem to follow through, communicate and fulfill their bids.

Tom Leach was great with our full reroof, despite contending with the winter rain in Portland. Juan was an excellent communicator throughout the install and made sure that everything was right and that I was happy with the end result. They cleaned up at the end of each day as well, which kept things feeling sane.

We also had a skylight installed, which Juan and Porfirio did a great job installing and flashing to ensure they won't leak.

Tom Leach tore off our existing roofs of 30+ years and putdown a new roof. Our roof is not easy with steepness, many angles, and a turret in front of the house. The weather vane at the top of the turret they removed, re-painted for us and re-installed. Above and beyond the call of duty. We are very pleased with the workmanship. One thing that really stuck out to my wife and myself was the fact that they cleaned up so well at the end of each day. After they got done cleaning it looked like no one had been here that day. We couldn't be happier with the performance and end result.

Tom Leach roofing just completed the job on our 115 year old home that required a full tear off and also replaced an old skylight. The crew was courteous and efficient and dealt with some inevitable issues that arose for a home this old with professionalism and a "Can do" attitude. We hired Tom Leach Roofing to replace our roof in the mid-1990s. Still in the same house, we hired Tom Leach Roofing again in 2024. The front office was always professional and timely, and the crew was on time, organized, experienced and did excellent work. The new roof (Windsor by Malarkey roofing tiles - lovely!) looks great. Our yard was left spotless by the Tom Leach team -- no nails, packaging, pieces of old shingles, or any of the complaints we've heard from neighbors who hired other companies.

Let's just start with WOW! The crew from Tom Leach roofing solved a flat roofed garage situation that I thought couldn't be solved without adding a peaked roof. It cost less, it looks great, and the whole experience was excellent from start to finish. Aaron came by and looked at my roof, answering questions about how he would convert my "bathtub" garage roof a flat, still sloping slightly to drain roof. Even my concern about a wall that poked up and how water might seep down that wall, he addressed and it made sense. I did not want to have to maintain the roof with caulking every few years. He came up with a design that his crew modified slightly as they implemented so that it even looked better than I expected and does not leak!

Things that I liked about this whole experience:
- Bid given, and contract signed online with a price lock for a specific time period.
- Scheduled the job and there were no delays/changes
- When they started, they came in and cleaned my driveway and laid down a tarp to catch any debris and screws.
- The job was done quickly, and when I requested one item be modified, they did that
- The crew worked quietly and diligently, but when I spoke with them, all were so friendly
- They even fixed the gate into my back yard. Just because they are the nicest guys!
- The roof was done, looks amazing, and even though they did some carpentry work, the bid was all that I paid.
- When I had one issue that needed to be addressed (and I hate asking for this kind of thing b/c usually it's awkward), with no hesitation, Aaron said it would be fixed, and Juan came by and fixed it. Thanks Juan!
- Every bit of debris, even down to the tiniest screw, was hauled away. I was just left with a beautiful, solid and non-leaky metal roof.

So... for any roofing job, I'd hire Tom Leach Roofing. But in particular, this was a metal roof, and the shape of the top of the garage needed to be modified to get rid of the "bathtub" roof. They solved this conundrum I've been dreading dealing with for years. I've learned that not all companies know how to do metal roofs (a bumpout on my garage was done by another company--that company was great for shingled roofs, but not metal. That area leaks and I still need to fix it). Juan immediately told me what was wrong and how to fix it this summer!

Excellent process end to end! The estimator was awesome at laying out options and recommendations for some repairs due to dryrot. The construction team was courteous, efficient and very diligent about daily cleanup.... we have a dog and worried about nails wood, etc, the team would drag a magnet around the yard daily to make sure there were no nails or debris. They discovered some additional repairs once the roof was torn off and managed to complete without any additional fees. This is not the cheapest roofer in town, a few extra dollars is certainly merited with their overall work is a great value, would hire again!

Easily one of the worst experiences I have had, trying to get a problem solved. The gentleman that came to look at the problem continually interrupted me and wouldn’t listen to what I was saying or asking. Didn’t come prepared to actually get on the roof and ended up using my personal ladder to get into the attic instead of his company one. He claimed to have walked around my house and “inspected” prior to the visit however I was working from home and watched him walk up to the house and then sit in his car for 30 minutes. He didn’t inspect any thing prior to the visit. If you want a company who won’t even listen to your question, then this is it. Terrible terrible experience.

I made an appointment 2 months in advance telling the "Pros" at Tom Leach that I had a steep incline to my roof and I needed them to go and check out the roof for potential issues and when the guy got there he was rude and said he wouldn't go on my roof but would give me and estimate for work? What??? How are you going to give me an estimate about my roof from the ground? Lol! I made an appointment for work ON MY ROOF! not to "look" at my roof do nothing then leave. We highly recommend the Tom Leach Roofing team! Their estimate was right in line with other estimates we got, but we went with them because the estimate included precise details about every step of the process from tear off, replacement, to clean up. Other estimates seemed a little vague about some of the details, which made me wonder if things that should be part of a roof replacement were included. They sent photos of the job as it was being done, and when it was complete, which was great, as it's pretty hard to see what the top of your roof looks like. They also got the job done super fast, and our property looked cleaner than it did before they came.

From the very first meeting with the estimator to the final clean-up, our roofing project was handled professionally and also in a friendly manner. Tom Leach replaced my roof 19 years ago. The roof was in good shape until a year ago when the wearing of its age started to become evident. I had the roof replaced and a skylight replaced in January of this year. The cost was reasonable and within the range of the other estimates I had done. The crew was efficient and professional. They showed up at the time I was expecting them to. They got the project done in about 2 days. The cleanup was thorough. I had excellent communication with the crew and Aaron. Tom leach Roofing removed 3 layers of shingles (including the original cedar shingles!), and installed new plywood decking installed with new shingles and two skylights on my 1930 bungalow.

Daniel and his crew did an excellent job - the work was fast, professional, and high quality. They took a great deal of extra care to make sure that no nails or debris were left behind at the end of the day. And they did all of that with a smile, even though they were doing the job in 35°F December weather.

The shingle products they install are environmentally-friendly shingles made locally with recycled materials by a local company.

After spending several months fruitlessly interviewing other roofing companies to replace the roof on our old tree and vine shrouded house, we decided to just leave things as they were, since the roof wasn't actually leaking. We were wary of selecting any of these companies for this undertaking, as all had claimed that we would need to remove or severely cut back all of our trees and any other plants growing close to our house. As this meant that our wildlife garden and the tree canopy that surrounds our house and cools it naturally in the summer heat would be severely impaired, we decided to look further for a more capable and less ruinous solution. A neighbor of ours whose roof had recently been replaced, and which we had admired the workmanship of, recommended Tom Leach Roofing.

From our first phone call to them, and our meeting with Aaron to discuss the work required, it was clear that we had found the right company. Aaron was extremely accommodating and reassuring. As we had experienced so much incompetence and indifference when interviewing other companies in the past, we were on the defensive and peppered Aaron with questions and concerns. He promptly and thoroughly answered all of our queries, explaining the work required, and providing us with alternatives regarding a timeline and course of action. In short, we were probably not easy to work with, but Aaron's patience with us was impressive, and we accepted the estimate (which, by the way, was the most thorough and explanatory estimate we had ever received for any type of work).

When it came time for the work to begin, were further reassured to see Juan and his crew arrive on time, friendly, delightful, seriously competent, and extremely knowledgeable. Each day, they got right down to work, and it was clear that each of them made a cohesive and efficient team. Juan and his crew worked to proper safety standards, and it was clear that each took pride in their work - as they well should. Our roof looks spectacular, and not a single tree, vine, or spider web was harmed. Juan made sure that the wisteria growing around our house was protected, tying it back from their work spaces as they went, and making sure that our trees and flower beds were covered and untrampled. Each day, they cleaned up after their work with astonishing thoroughness. On the last day, there was nothing for us to have to do - everything was left spotless and in excellent order. Most special of all was that Juan had gone above and beyond his remit and fixed our sagging gutters, added rope holds to our roof, in case of any future work that may someday be required, affixed additional water-proofing around the porch eaves, and remedied a leaky pipe that had been causing our cellar to flood every fall and winter for seventeen years (we'd had no idea of the cause, but after Juan's work, it has never happened again). The skill, efficiency, and extreme thoroughness of Juan and his crew's work are exceptional.
Although Juan had answered all of our questions thoroughly, after the crew left on the last day, we still had more. A phone call brought Trevor to our house immediately, and he answered all of our further concerns. Like everyone else we had dealt with at Tom Leach, he was very knowledgeable, amiable, and patient with us.

Whenever I arrive home from being away, I now look up at our roof and marvel at its beauty and workmanship. So do our neighbors. We think they are envious - reason alone for everyone working at Tom Leach to be proud.

They started on time when they were scheduled. Showed up every day, cleaned up at the end of every day. Friendly, helpful workers. They finished on a Saturday and left the yard cleaner than it was before. The office staff were friendly and considerate. Excellent company to do business with.

Had our garage roof replaced and removed a couple of skylights that were leaking and we didn't want anymore. They were great! They gave the best price of the three quotes we got while also being in business the longest. They were responsive and got the job done it the time-frame they said the would.

Jorge inspected my roof and sent me an estimate for the complete Tear-Off and replacement. After the roof was completely replaced the Total Contract Price was the same as the Estimated Price even though there was a pandemic, the market experienced supply chain issues, the lumber industry experienced Plywood price issues and there were industry construction cost issues.

Aaron had asked me if I had any questions before the job started. I had a lot of questions and Aaron answered my questions thoroughly and completely. Aaron set up the Final Roofing Contract.

Juan and his crew were craftsman. Their workmanship was meticulous and detailed. I had three layers of shingles on my roof. The top layer was Asphalt Shingles which was (30 years old). The middle layer was Composite Shingles which was (at least 55 years old). The Original Layer on the house was Wood Cedar Shake Shingles which was (99 years old). They removed all of it and hauled away about 8 tons of debris. That's right! Juan and his crew cleaned up around my house every day.

The heat in the summer is getting hotter and lasting longer. The summer heatwave in 2022 lasted 67 days. The record number of dry days not hot days is 71 days set in 1967.

My Attic would get really hot with my old roof in the summer because the sun directly hit my house all through the day.

Juan decided to increase the number of Roof Air Vents from my original 3 vents to a total of 15 vents. The increase of Roof Air Vents would not only release the heat in my Attic but also increase the life of my new shingles.

I've been working with Aaron, Juan and Jorge since at least 2013. I have asked them to inspect my roof and make repairs on my roof. Aaron replaced a couple of shingles and told me my roof was in good shape but would eventually need to be replaced in about 10 years. Jorge has replaced missing shingles and Juan repaired boards under the eves on the East side of my house. Each time Jorge replaced shingles on my roof he gave me a revised estimate on when I would need to replace my roof. He estimated 5 years a couple of times, then 2 years a couple of times, then 1 year a couple of times and then finally Jorge said I needed to replace my roof. There was no doubt about it. I knew I had to bite the bullet.

Tom Leach Roofing did not pressure me. They were honest with me and gave me time to prepare and eventually take that leap to do a complete Tear-Off and replacement of my roof.

Tom Leach Roofing did a great job replacing my roof. Like many contractors these days, they were booked pretty far out, but ended up doing the work earlier than they had initially predicted.

The crew was fast, neat, and responsive. I don't have a huge yard, and they managed to get their work completed without damaging my landscaping.

Communication was great - they were very responsive and they addressed all the questions I had.

Two years ago I needed a new roof/tear off on my home and after researching several companies, the prompt and professional response as well as the competitive and fair price was the deciding factor in selecting Tom Leach Roofing. Fast forward to today, and Aaron and his crew just finished the third roof with complete tear offs for me. I am in line for a 4th roof job. Needless to say, I am very happy with Aaron and his crew. The job sites were kept neat, attention to details were made, and the crew was professional and courteous.

I was very impressed with the crew's ability to problem solve on the spot when discovering that our very old home has some very add rafters. With their quick thinking the project completed on time without having to order new skylights.

Tom Leach replaced the roof on my mother’s home. (She doesn’t do online reviews). She was so impressed with their courteous, professional service, how quickly the job was completed and how thoroughly they cleaned around the house. Definitely a five star job!

I did my homework and had a number of companies quote some outdoor skylights and I found Aaron to be the most responsive and communicative (a couple did not even follow up after the initial quote). Aaron was also the only person to tell me that I did not need solar shades as they would get filled with bugs and look bad and that it was a waste even with the the tax credit.
All said and done, Tom Leach was the best value, most communicative and their lead/installations times were very reasonable. Installation was professional and the contractor, Daniel, was a great communicator.

West Coast Roofing and Painting weren't reliable in their scheduling of service after two attempts so I reached out to the folks at Tom Leach Roofing. Aaron was quick to respond, provided an assessment and clear quote for services, answering any and all questions I had, and got me scheduled as soon as they had an opening. The roofing team that was dispatched was thorough and kept things relatively clean as they worked, always ensuring to tidy up at the end of the day. Am happy with the work performed, would use them again in a pinch and certainly recommend them to folks considering using this business for their roofing needs.

This is the second time we have used Tom Leach Roofing, 7 yrs apart (first we did our garage, then house).
Very professional and friendly crew as well as the owner Aaron who was super responsive to any questions we had.
The yard was kept clean throughout the project. No upselling. They cleaned any rust off of vents, etc. and painted them black.
Our kitchen hood vent was blocked on the roof and we had almost gone and gotten a new hood. Our present fan was so ineffective and loud, but only 2 yrs old. Well, Juan and the team found a large squirrel nest in the vent with three babies in it! One of the workers even brought them home to care for them til they could be released! That was great and saved us tons of $$!
The roof looks super. Can't think of anything that was a negative. Oh, and they had to work around rain, snow & hail...Often all in one day!

Our experience with Tom Leach Roofing was one of the best contractor-experiences we’ve ever had. We were impressed from the get-go; Aaron, the company owner, responded promptly to our quote request, and thoroughly answered all our questions. We received bids from multiple roofing companies and found Tom Leach Roofing’s price very competitive. We booked in mid-February, with a promised start date in mid-March, and the crews were able to start two days earlier than expected.

The crews work replacing our roof was excellent, with exquisite attention to detail on things like properly installing flashing and new attic vents. The finished result looks great, and more importantly, will clearly last. The job was completed exactly on time (5 days, as quoted), with no surprises—the cost came in right as Aaron had projected in his initial quote. The crew was friendly and very professional. They arrived promptly on time each day and did an extraordinary job cleaning up—we joked that our yard and patio were cleaner when they left than before they started! The crew foreman also did an excellent job communicating any concerns he found, i.e. a few areas of rotted decking and trim, and identifying solutions to them.

Our house is a 1920's Craftsman style home with a roof needing to be totally replaced. It had 3 layers of asphalt shingles over a layer of wooden shingles. We were very happy with the quality workmanship provided by Tom Leach Roofing in repairing our roof. They removed the old roof, installed new plywood and one layer of asphalt shingles, completed roofing repairs as needed, and installed roofing vents (previously there were no vents on the prior roof). The roofing crew was professional, gave us frequent progress reports, and left the property Spic and Span when the job was completed! We would highly recommend Tom Leach Roofing for anyone needing a new roof or roofing repairs !

Great service and fast turn around! I was given a competitive bid, initial inspection was scheduled quickly, and i was expecting a month out for the replacement but they were able to get it done sooner! Great crew, the roof looks awesome! They had to do some repairs on rotting sections, everything was explained throughly, all aroubd good experience!

Tom Leach replaced our roof just shy of 30yrs ago. The quality of the work was excellent then and remains so today. Bid was comparable to others received.
Besides roofing , needed 8 rafter tails and soffits replaced. We had questions about that process.
Aaron not only explained how the work would be done, he provided several pictures of what the job would look like when in progress.
Juan and his crew were friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the job they were doing. Daily clean up was much appreciated.
Overall a stress free experience.

Ours was not a simple, straightforward job. The cedar shake roof was the original roof on my 47 year old home. A few extra little roofs here and there - a woodshed - a garage. 5 skylights. Our driveway is steep with a turnaround that's fine for cars, but challenging for anything else.

I got 5 estimates. Tom Leach was not the cheapest, but also not the most expensive. I like the warranty. I like that all of my questions were answered. I like that this is a local company and they have their own crew.

It took a bit longer than anticipated due to rain, the challenging driveway and limited space, and the fact that the original owner used larger than usual nails on the shingles (hard to remove).

They did a stellar job! Cleaned up every night. Left everything in great shape. No harm to plants or trees. All of the roofs look great!

Great crew - Juan and his team were on time every morning and finished a day earlier than expected. They cleaned up daily and were friendly, professional extremely competent. They answered questions and explained details well. Aaron was very responsive to questions during the bidding, scheduling and roof color selection process. Honestly, I didn't even get another bid -- several years ago I had them come look at the roof and was told I had a few years of life left. This time, Aaron said I could also wait another year but was ready to get it done (we'd lived here 21 years and hadn't replaced the roof -- it was time). Highly recommend. And extra credit for having a woman on the crew! Trades are for everyone.

We were sincerely impressed with the professionalism, hard workers, and integrity the whole team at Tom Leach Roofing!!. We got several estimates in March on our 60 year old roof and Aaron was the most experienced estimator by far in understanding the needs of our roof. Furthermore Aaron worked with us on the date in August we wanted the roof installed and sent pictures of the dry rot uncovered during removal of the old roof. The cost of lumber had gone down and Aaron informed me that his policy is to pass his savings on to his customers! Are you kidding this saved us thousands of dollars on our roof.
