I feel compelled to share my experience with Modern Remodeling and specifically Jonathan Ballard. My relationship started back before Google Reviews even existed in 2011. At that time Jonathan and team replaced my 55 year old roof, gutters, and soffets. I was interested in a metal roof but Jonathan talked some sense into me and suggested it was not a good fit for my yard and house. He could have easily upsold me the metal roof if he wanted to, but instead did the right thing. The entire crew were extremely professional, thoughtful, and the installation went smooth. Today the roof still looks fantastic. No issues at all! Fast forward to April, 2024 and I developed a small leak. 13 years later I called Jonathan for help. Immediately he and his team came over and repaired the leak. They then walked the entire roof, inch by inch, thoroughly looking for more potential issues. This gave me great peace of mind. You could not put your trust into a better company and individual.

I reached out to Modern Remodeling to have an access ladder installed for my attic. Almost immediately I was greeted by a statuesque man named David Ireland. His firm, yet gentle handshake let me know I was in good hands. He had a subtle musk that could only be described as Armani cologne and sandalwood that reminded me of my father's loving embrace. After exchanging pleasantries, I showed him upstairs to where I thought I would need to put the pull down ladder. He sprung into action, as though he had been trained from birth for this. Jumping through the access panel and disappearing into the darkness of the cavernous attic, he was able to confirm my deepest fears, the joists ran perpendicular to the direction i wanted to put the ladder. I was noticeably distraught by this revelation. David, seeing this, came over to me. He told me that everything was going to be alright, as he softly brushed my cheek with the back of his hand. And in that moment, I believed him.
He returned quickly, a week later, with two carpenters and the ladder in tow. David directed them masterfully. They did a marvelous job securing the frame and also showing me how to use my newly installed ladder. David followed up with me that day asking for pictures. He was very supportive throughout this whole process and really made me feel like he was taking care of it as though it was his own home. I would certainly recommend David Ireland and Modern Remodeling to anyone who has any needs.

I recently engaged Bryan with Modern Remodeling for a project, and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. From start to finish, the service provided by Bryan and his team fell short of expectations, particularly in terms of communication and customer engagement.

One of the primary issues was Bryan's lack of willingness to provide updates or even a simple courtesy call when en route to the site. Despite assurances during the initial consultation, where punctuality and effective communication were emphasized, Bryan failed to uphold these promises. This lack of communication not only led to frustration but also resulted in wasted time waiting for his arrival without any prior notice.

Jesse was great. He assesed our roof for damage and provided us with an estimate . He also was able to advise that we could get the repair completed by a handyman because of the damage not being that severe. I would definitely call again for their help.

We used Modern Remodeling for a full house renovation, including three bathrooms, a kitchen, flooring throughout the house, changing a drop ceiling to dry wall, new doors throughout, and more. Brian was excellent with communication and with setting appropriate expectations. We were not living in the house at the time of the renovation, but Brian was frequently in touch to let us know what progress had been made and what their next steps were.

As far as all the many decisions that have to be made on a project the size of ours, I really appreciated that Brian presented with me three or four options for each choice so that I wasn't overwhelmed by having too much to look at. In the few instances where I didn't like any of the three options, he was happy to provide a second set to look at based on my feedback.

MR came in on time and very close to the initial budget. Each change that we made that involved an additional cost (or a credit) was communicated clearly so there were no surprises when it came time to pay the final bill.

We are very happy with the result - a beautiful house renovation with a low stress process the entire way. Overall, a great project and we are delighted with the results.

Contacted Jesse and his company for an estimate and replacement of skylights. Jesse and his team came over right away. Looked at what needed to be done and then sent me an estimate due to the fact that I didn’t have a lot of money to get this done but it was leaking. He gave me the best estimate of any contractor, and since he has replaced the skylights very quickly and efficiently, I have not had any leaking into my home and they look great. Thank you Jesse and team.

Modern Remodeling's hallmarks are outstanding customer service and timeliness, and I do not hesitate to recommend them. I needed roof and interior home repair from a roof leak. Brian, Hayley, and the team were always prompt and ensured the work was completed to my standards. They worked with me up front to collect the shingle and siding specs, paint colors, and hardwood flooring stain color. A couple of detractors was that I needed some rework with my garage baseboard and my roof. In the end, the project turned out as advertised and corrected shortcuts done by the home builder. Again, recommend!

We had a rather large tree fall and damage the house and roof during an ice storm. Jesse Hoptiak and his steam from Modern Remodeling came out immediately to cover the roof and get the paperwork started so we could get all our repairs done. We needed roofing, gutters, siding and windows and everyone was friendly, professional and on time. That is a big one for me since I am always running around. The fire department deemed the home an electrical fire hazard in addition, resulting in my home being declared unlivable. USAA insurance identified the replacement cost for the damage at $134,000 plus there were additional supplemental claims. I also took this opportunity to identify additional scope for repairs outside the tree damage in the amount $23,000 because I decided to sell my home after the repairs were completed.

I had used Modern Remodeling about six years earlier for ice damage to my roof, gutters, and siding. It wasn't a large job but they were responsive and did an excellent job. I called the on-site project manager for that work but couldn't reach him because he was no longer with Modern Remodeling.

Despite the lost contact, I still decided to trust Modern Remodeling with my business and they did not disappoint. From the start throughout the process to the finish, they were highly professional, flexible, and responsive to my needs to make sure the repairs and additional work were completed to my high standards of satisfaction. The project started with the entire attic and roof being removed. After completion, I had a new attic and new trusses, new insulation, a new roof and ridge vent, newly resurfaced and painted mortar on the back of the house, new vinyl siding on the back of the house, new aluminum siding / capping, all new windows, new gutters and downspouts, new 17' x 20' backyard deck, new backyard fence with gate, new front door, new indoor and outdoor lighting, new electrical wiring , new outlets and switches, six new electrical smoke detectors, new thermostat, new floor/wall/ceiling vent covers, new closet doors, new vinyl plank flooring, new carpeting, and it was painted throughout. The house was new and fresh from top to bottom inside and out.

My house sold and closed in less than three weeks after listing for a +$31k offer received on the third day. There was a lot of interest. The buyer pre-inspected the house on that day and waived further inspection. They wanted my house badly and pushed everything through quickly.

Adam and his team were amazing from start to finish. Easy step by step processes for new homeowners and first time having to use homeowners' insurance. Worked side by side with USAA and the added repairs we asked for were spot on. Fast and efferent crew and very grateful we bought them pizza and drinks on a pretty hot day to be doing roofs. Jesse and his team are incredibly professional, prompt, and eager to please when it comes to roof repair. After heavy winds knocked a few shingles off of my roof I wrote Jesse and he arrived two days later with an assistant. We went up onto the roof and they explained where the damage was, meticulously documented everything, and told me how I could go to my insurance to file a claim. Side shoutout to Traveler's Insurance for the prompt service and approval!

Jesse moved his schedule around to make certain he was there to meet our claims adjuster and discussed what they found with the inspector he brought along.

We were scheduled within the month and a team of professionals arrived first thing in the morning and finished by mid-afternoon. We were even able to upgrade from 3-tab shingles to contractor shingles for a very reasonable upgrade fee that wasn't covered by insurance.

The whole process from inspection to installation took less than a work-day and the results are stunning.

Most people only give reviews when a company performs poorly, but Jesse did such a great job, he deserves the time it takes to write a good review. After another roofing company failed to get the work done, Jesse came in an evaluated the roof, documented it, worked with the insurance company to get it approved, and completed the work. Modern Remodeling worked with our insurance co to repair a water damaged kitchen floor. Their approved change order extended the laminate flooring to the living room and dining room - their crew worked rapidly and expertly to complete the project in just two days and we are very pleased with the results. We recently bought a new home that’s a bit of a fixer upper. Hayley did an awesome job in remodeling my kitchen. Once we pulled the old cabinets out, there was a lot of extra work that was unexpected (due to some bad work by the previous owners) but she was very patient with us and explained everything throughly. She was extremely pleasant to be around and her work is magnificent. I plan on using her again very soon for some other rooms that need remodeling in our house.

Modern Remodeling was hired by my insurance company to repair damage from the botched installation of a bathroom vanity by a contractor I hired off Yelp. The repairs including correcting dangerous wiring, removing and replacing water damaged drywall, replacing a broken drainpipe coupling in the wall, painting, and reinstalling the vanity. Hayley was the team lead on my project and her effort and guidance were pivotal in preventing a repeat of what I experienced with the first contractor. Hayley rode herd over the repairs, suspending teams and bringing new teams on as issues arose that were outside the expertise of the onsite team. The oversight, issue resolution, and quality of work exceeded that of any contractor we’ve hired in our 22 years in the area. Hayley and Modern Remodeling are a class act.

They helped walk us through the process and made our replacement easy on us. Their estimate was in the middle of the 3 I received. However they explained exactly where and why the differences. Assisted with a storm damaged roof, they were prompt and handled everything thru the insurance company. The staff is so helpful and friendly. The install team did an excellent job and cleaned up after they were done. Could not of ask for a better contractor.

Jessie Hoptiak showed up at my door and claimed that there were shingles missing from the roof of our home. Being skeptical of anyone coming door to door to offer services, I entertained his sell. He offered and completed a free inspection of the roof and found and documented, with pictures, the damage that he found. He explained that he would work with the insurance company and try to get the roof covered for damage from storms that had passed through our area. I researched the company before agreeing to sign any contracts. I made the claim to the insurance company and informed them that Modern Remodeling had done a free inspection and that they seemed reputable enough to complete the work. My insurance company reached out to Jessie and his company and Modern Remodeling took care of the rest. Within a week, we were picking out shingle color. After paying for the deductible and an added replacement of a skylight, we have a newly shingled home in just a couple of weeks from the start of the process, The roofer subcontractor was fast, professional and attentive to details. They cleaned up the debris each night as this was a two day job. The roofer crew was top notch! Jessie and another representative were out each day of the install, and Jessie returned two days later to do a final inspection and sweep for nails in the yard. I could not ask for better service from start to finish. I would not hesitate to use this company again in the future and have recommended them to other family members.

Beware of unscrupulous roofing companies. I was duped into a "free" inspection, and that company ended up maliciously damaging multiple shingles while up on my roof to make the damages appear worse. My insurance company declared the damages were vandalism and only paid to replace half my roof (my insurance woes are a whole other story). Luckily, a friend recommended I work with Modern Remodeling as she was happy with her experiences with them in replacing her roof and siding. Throughout the many months working with them (due to my insurance company trying their best not to pay on my claim), staff at M.R. were friendly yet professional as well as supportive in my dealings with a resistant insurance company. Unbeknownst to me, M.R. was actually an approved vendor with my insurance, and they somehow knew how to navigate all their stalling tactics. The work on my roof was done in one day, and the finished product looks great. The workers did a fantastic job of cleaning up and hauling away all the trash and old materials. M.R. was excellent in following up with a final walk-through to ensure there weren't any issues. I couldn't be happier and highly recommend Modern Remodeling.
