We had a tree fall from our neighbor’s yard on to our garage and didn’t realize that it would be our responsibility to take care of it. After understanding that this would be our responsibility we were connected with Modern Remodeling and they helped walk us through every step in the process while also staying on top of our insurance company as they were making the process very difficult. I am so glad i chose Modern Remodeling. I am selling my home and after the inspection i was horified to find out i needed a new roof. I had never done this before and was already quite overwhelmed but Shane made the process so much easier than i ever imagined. He walked me through the entire process on how to file the claim and what was required. He even met with the adjuster from liberty mutual, Even with an RCV policy, most initial insurance estimates won’t cover the full cost of a new roof. While you can take the payout as is, you’ll have to supplement your insurance claim to get most or all of a new roof’s cost covered. He was a blessing i couldn't of got the entire roof covered without him. Highly satisfied and a pleasure to deal with. Extremely professional, knowledgeable and Timely. I recommend them to everyone.

Working with project manager Thomas H. was such a pleasure. He made this process easy for me as we know dealing with insurance claims can be tasking. Handling everything on the back end, Thomas kept me updated regularly and explained next steps in great detail. He was very, knowledgeable, responsive and personable. Once approved, the work was completed within a day. I have to admit- it got messy but the crew took great care of my property. Roof install looks great and I am extremely pleased.

Our single-family home in Bods, Maryland struck by a hailstorm in the fall of 2024. Mr. Carmine Hess of Modern Remodeling approached me to see if there is any damage to our home roof. He checked and found damages to the roof and helped me in contacting my insurance company. Insurance company ordered a drone inspection of the roof and Mr. Carmine worked with him. Even though drone inspector implied that he found damage to the roof, the insurance company said there is no damage to my roof. As I believed in Mr. Carmine I requested insurance company for inspection by a human being, for which it agreed. Mr. Carmine diligently worked with insurance company and made it to see the damage occurred to my roof and its total replacement! Even though there was some delay due to weather, Mr. Carmine and his team showed patience and did amazing job in installing the new roof. I strongly I recommend him and his company for roof replacement and other remodeling works.

Working with Tom at Modern Remodeling Inc was a breeze! Right from the initial consultation, Tom made me feel confident my home was in good hands. He was knowledgable on materials, scheduling, and what it would take to get this massive job done. I had a lengthy wishlist but no matter how fantastical the idea, Tom was up for the challenge! He certainly did the heavy-lifting during this massive project, often suggesting practical solutions based on his knowledge of the industry, or offering ideas I hadn’t considered before. I could cover a lot in my review, but I’ll focus on the top three things I was looking for in a contractor: Expertise, Budget-minded, and Communication.

Expertise: My home was built in 1959, and although well-maintained, it was in desperate need of the standard modernization you see in newer homes today. We went into this remodel knowing the home was aging and that there may be some unseen hiccups as we started knocking through walls, pulling up flooring, or looking at electrical/plumbing/etc., so experience was going to be key. No matter the issue, Tom and his team were quick to react, take charge, and secure the most reasonable solution for the challenge(s) they faced. I was at ease knowing my home was safe.

Budget-minded: Being a younger homeowner, I don’t have the benefit of longer-term investment capital, so keeping this project as close to the original contract quote was a priority. Tom stayed true to the original pricing model that we signed in the contract. Period. If I asked for something extra afterward, he either made it happen or let me know it would be a change order. Either way, he would give me the options I had, and he always worked with me to stay within my framework.

Communication: I can’t remember exact dates, but when I first called Modern Remodeling Inc for an estimate, Tom was scheduled to be on-site within the week. From that moment on we were in regular communication, be-it texting, phone calls, or emails. He was fast to respond to every request and quietly worked on my project behind the scenes so that whenever I did reach out with a question, he was ready with an answer - oftentimes anticipating my needs in advance. That type of diligence only comes from high integrity, pride and genuine care for the work he does.

Modern Remodeling Inc has cast aside old judgements and preconceived ideas of what it means to deal with contractors. I will happily recommend Modern Remodeling Inc to anyone and hope I get to work with you and Tom again! Thanks again for bringing 21st century life into my home!

Had considerable amount of damage to roof from high winds. Modern helped us work with the insurance company to get the roof replaced. Couldn't be happier with the quality of the entire team at Modern Remodeling. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

From the moment we reached out to Modern about roof damage from a storm they were responsive and so personable. The company truly provides personalized service that is customer centric. Cory was our project manager and could not have been more helpful through the process! He is an excellent communicator & able to share his knowledge to help clients make the best informed decisions. We met Cory with Modern Remodeling back in Feb 2024 during a really stressful time. We had a tree limb puncture our roof in the middle of winter which also caused water damage inside our dinning room. Cory helped us navigate some difficult conversations with the insurance company and was always patient and easy to talk to, fielding all our questions.

Now we have a wonderful new roof and the interior of the dining room looks like nothing ever happened. We are so pleased with the results.

We were so impressed we hired Cory again in Nov 2024 to replace our deteriorating wood deck which was scary to walk on and our old siding. The deck is solid now, a bit bigger which is great, and most importantly safe. The siding looks fantastic too.

Cory even went above and beyond to help us improve the look of our attic window...even squeezed through our closet to go in the attic only to find you couldn't access the window from there, but he was able to do what was needed from outside.

I recently had my roof replaced in March 2025. The contractor was Chris. He was great. He explained the process beginning with how to contact my insurance company and what I needed to say and as a result they fully funded the job. Chris also pointed out some water damage that I wasn't aware of. He also explained the time line from start to finish, and what to expect during the work. He throughly explained the contract and addressed all questions and concerns. He was available during all the steps. I was able to contact Chris via text, phone or in person. The roofers and painters were efficient and cleaned up everything after completing their work. I strongly recommend this company for any home improvement projects you may be considering.

After flooding in my basement, Modern Remodeling was initially selected to take measurements for my insurance company. The plan was to have another company complete the rebuild and I figured that it didn't hurt to have two estimates to review with my insurance.

Mike completed the measurements and was prompt in sending this information to the insurance company. He also maintained contact with me and the insurance company to ensure that they received his communication and to inquire about moving to the next phase. By the time the second company came to take measurements and create a sketch for the rebuild, we were on the verge with moving forward with Modern to start the rebuild.

Mike communicated constantly with me about the start date of the job and each phase through completion. Mike was here when the team arrived to start the rebuild and he checked in (physically) throughout the process, which was appreciated. It was good working with Mike in that he managed the project, the team, and my home very well.

In March 2024, extensive water damage turned my home upside down. Initially overwhelmed, I contacted my insurance and then wondered how to navigate repairs. Remembering a great experience with Modern Remodeling, I reached out.

Within hours, I was contacted by Ashley and Tom, two exceptionally professional project managers. This dynamic duo was at my doorstep within days, ready to tackle everything from start to finish. They even went to bat with the insurance company to ensure necessary replacements.

Ashley collaborated with my wife to design a stunning new look – truly HGTV-worthy! Tom then took the reins as our point of contact once construction began. We had a minor flood in our basement. After the mitigation team came out and dried everything out we had Modern Home Remodeling come out and put it all back together. We decided on some upgrades like fully dry wall ceilings and recessed lighting. Everything came out so great and it's a perfect playroom now! After two back to back, and VERY stressful insurance claims, both of which we had the pleasure to work with Modern Remodeling, the bulk of our stress and frustration came from the insurance side. For a total of about 7 months, Modern Remodeling worked with us diligently to handle every roadblock and negotiation between our insurance adjuster and our claims. I cannot thank Modern Remodeling enough for their help and especially their relentless determination when dealing with our adjuster and insurance company. At the end, our claims were seen through to the end, all issues and repairs were made in full and some even more than we'd expected, and the quality of the work was upheld to our satisfaction. We had hail damage to our roof from a storm in September 2023. We called Modern to evaluate the roof, and then to replace the damaged roof. We hired Modern remodeling 3 years ago to gut our house and add on a room while we were living in the basement. They told us 3 months from start to finish. It was 3 months and 2 days. We loved working with Ashley and her team!! We are now in the process of redoing an old house on our farm so of course we called Ashley!

Modern Home Remodeling replaced our roof after a hail storm. They made the process easy to understand and the new roof was replaced quickly and well-done. The team cleaned up afterwards. Now, over 10 years later we had solar panels installed through another company and had a roof leak. When we couldn’t get the solar panel company to help, MHR came out to inspect our roof free of charge and help figure out the problem. Carmine has been essential in getting the assistance we need to fix our roof. He is responsive and professional to texts, calls, and in-person visits. When we need work done again, we will use MHR.

I can't say enough about the two ladies who showed up at my door when I lost a lot of my roof due to a bad storm. Ashley and Arcadia were ready to get the job done and they never gave up on me when my insurance company wanted to fight me. I had a good experience working with Mike, every time I texted, he responded quickly and made sure I was happy with the work. They did a great job replacing my damaged basement and would highly recommend.

After my AC was installed, it would not run. The AC installer discovered that MRI’s subcontractor punctured my refrigerant line (line set). He took a video and sent it to me. I contacted Warranty Manager Thomas Henseley immediately who stated he would speak with his supervisors. MRI urged me to make another insurance claim for consequential damage. I did not want to make another claim but reluctantly allowed them to. Project Manager Chloe McGinn contacted the insurance company and stated falsely that my original line set was installed incorrectly. I was surprised because MRI did not come out to inspect the line set. I was denied the claim and General Manager Ashley Nichols wants me to contact MIA regarding the denial. The technician who installed the AC unit said in his 30 years he has installed thousands of line sets and my line set had been installed correctly. He cut out and provided me with the punctured line set that had to be replaced. MRI said I should have had a metal plate above the line set to prevent punctures. I checked with my County office, and they said they do not require a metal plate as MRI stated. I had to pay $2603 for the new line set install plus I had to purchase fans in the summer. I was not able to stay in my home, despite the fans. Prior to the discovery of the punctured line set, I made an application for a loan in January 2022 to replace my AC as it was not functioning to its full capacity in 2021. I was referred to apply for a grant for the replacement of my boiler or AC and the AC was approved in September. The install was in December 2022. MRI stated that I could have just gotten a grant for the line set and not the AC. When I applied for the grant, I had no idea the line set had been punctured by MRI in Nov 2021. My AC was over 26 years old and not functioning properly, so I would not have thought to ask for a grant for the line set. In addition, a contractor came to my home in Jan 2023 who stated that when MRI removed the plywood, they should have seen the line set and should have marked that area to prevent any damage. Therefore, it is negligent on their part. MRI has placed the burden on me for getting my money. It is very hard on me since my illness causes unpredictable relapses that leave me weak, dizzy, and fatigue. Sometimes I cannot function for weeks. They have caused me stress requiring me to do the work to get reimbursed for their subcontractor’s mistake. They refuse to get the money from the subcontractor who made many mistakes on my project, and they said the only way they can go to their insurance company is for me to file a complaint with MIA. I don’t understand all this. They caused the damage; they should pay me directly. I had to stop working and live on a fixed income. I cannot afford to give away $2603+.

In addition, MRI initially did not credit monies due me and the roof ties did not lay flat. I told them I would write a check for the final balance once they made those corrections to the credit and the roof. MRI then made the corrections. The subcontractor also did not caulk around the chimney and I had to contact them for that issue. I have lots of documentation supporting my experience.

I contacted Modern Remodeling because a relative told me they do excellent work. My relative was absolutely right!!! Part of a tree fell on my roof and left a gaping hole, damaged my gutters and 2 shutters were blown off. I contacted them and Carmine was excellent. He came by took a look and forwarded his findings to the insurance company. Everything was taken care of and I was updated every step of the process. My new 50 year roof looks excellent and so do the new gutters. I have some other projects that are beyond my DIY capabilities and I'm going to contact Modern Remodeling for those. I highly recommend Modern Remodeling for anyone who needs home repairs!!

I couldn't be more pleased with Modern Remodeling. I found the beginnings of a small roof leak after one of our big storms and Modern was recommended by a friend who had just had a roof replacement from them. I called Carmine and he did everything to help me through the process of working with my insurance company. He met with and kept in contact with the insurance adjuster and had a wonderful crew come out and replaced my entire roof. Modern Remodeling was great from the initial inspection, helping with the insurance process, documenting damage, and delivering on a high-quality product. We had roof damage and Modern came out, documented it with pictures, measurements and a full report to share with the insurance company who came out and validated it. There were no issues in proving that our roof had wind damage and needed replacement immediately. The roof material is high-quality and looks great. Chris and Modern exceeded our expectations! Delivered on all their promises! This was an insurance claim for our roof and our insurance company continued to challenge Chris, but he never gave up! Chris was able to take our claim from a small roof repair to a full roof replacement including skylights! I usually hate dealing with contractors. They usually don’t show up or are late and there is usually problems …….. MODERN REMOLDING INC IS THE EXCEPTION. THEY SHOWED WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD, EVERYTHING WAS DONE TO PERFECTION AND THEY EVEN DEALT WITH THE INSURANCE COMPANY. Let me start by saying our nightmare started on July 12th 2022 when a tornado came through our neighborhood with high winds,hail and rain. After the storm a gentleman came knocking at our door wanting to show us the damage that was done too our home. The gentleman came back wanting to explain what needed to be done. The gentleman was Shane, a project manager from Modern Remodeling. He helped us get in contact with our insurance company. The steps that were needed to repair our home went smoothly and were completed in a timely fashion. Our home could not look more beautiful when it was completed. Our thanks go out to all of the crews that made that happen.

We used Modern and have nothing but good things to say about them. Mike Miller is hard working, smart, honest and very thorough. He has a great deal of integrity, professionalism, competence and a very good nature. He wrote a great proposal to our insurance company and was able to get us our roof completely covered after a recent very bad storm. Their work was great and afterwards, Mike came, walked the whole property and did not leave until we were completely satisfied. We are overall extremely pleased with Modern Remodeling Inc. Chloe McGinn was very professional and assisted us in dealing with our Insurance company and was in constant communication with what to expect throughout the process. Within 3 months we had a new roof and we’re happy with everything. Approximately 6 weeks later we had a bad thunderstorm with a lot of rain in a short amount of time. Unfortunately that resulted in a leak in our ceiling with a small amount of water coming through. Modern was contacted after this and had a crew out to fix the problem the next day. We thought the problem was fixed until the remnants of Hurricane Ian came through and it rained for several days. Unfortunately water was coming through the same spot and it resulted in a large stain and water damage to the drywall on the ceiling. After this I was in contact with Steve Trancucci who came to the house and personally inspected the roof and damage inside the home. Steve was able to figure out the problem that was occurring and did some repairs himself. After this Steve was able to send Saul Vasquez out to do some paint and drywall repair. I can’t say enough about Saul’s quality of work and would highly recommend him for anyone who needs paint and or drywall. This last part with the leak was concerning although admittedly there is a definite design flaw in my home (I do not recommend Richmond American Builders) where two different pitches in the roof meet. No doubt in my mind that this contributed to the issue and could have easily been dismissed by Modern as my problem and a flaw in the design of the roof. With that being said Steve made it extremely easy on us and worked to fix the problem instead of passing the buck. For these reasons and the fact they stand by their workmanship I would definitely recommend Modern Remodeling!

All I have to say is wow, my expectations were blown away. Bobbie Greaver knocked on our door about our roof and we were quite skeptical initially but the process surprisingly turned out to be seamless. She was excellent in communicating with us and our insurance company to get a new roof 100% paid for. We basically just signed some papers and got a new roof of great quality and excellent workmanship from the guys at Modern. Bobbie has great customer service skills and represented her company in the most positive and professional way. We feel really blessed!

The whole process was excellent. Michael explained everything well and made things easy. The day of the roof replacement went very well and everyone was very professional.
