Owners Response disingenuous, original review depicts my request for PRORATED refund in context of basement. Tho, major risk (job not doable) like metal studs should be raised during scoping. Koala aware - asked me to fund purchase of tool. Koala should not accept work in unfamiliar homes then. Employee onsite admitted was aware for hours re metal studs. He showed me first hole and issue. Team abruptly left after I talked to Mark about why not addressed earlier. I only agreed to repair wall assuming work is completed. I didn't drill holes into my wall and repaint it for no reason. I could have avoided unnecessary cost entirely. Reputable org would eat this cost. Work was lazy bc insulation was taped/wrapped in areas like HVAC access points (filter) but not needed spots. Clearly team was lazy at best/unskilled at worst (which is against code to block maintenance access). 2nd time we reached out under year (speaks for itself) was delayed bc had baby and had complications/at several months following. The work revealed itself as faulty well before that.I have monitored my humidityand its appx 40%...we've had no water incidents in the basement. They offered to come back a second time. However, this is unreasonable and not the level of service we expected. This is unreasonable by any standard. Instead, we believed a refund would be the easiest solution for both parties.

A money grab that borderlines on a scam. Do not use. Koala performed work for us in summer of 2022. The original scope of work was blowing in insulation into drywall, insulating basement vents, blowing additional insulation in our attic, and hanging insulation on a newly constructed wall. The cost of the project was several thousands of dollars. The blown insulation was not completed (see below) and the basement vent insulation falls down/was down without attention to care (see below). Koala refuses to provide any type of refund, even after coming out once to attempt to fix the work of the inexperienced team that insulated the vents (unsuccessfully).
The reason the blown insulation was not completed was because our home has metal studs. However, despite discovering this presumably after cutting one hole, Koala spent all day on 1 wall, even cutting 7 holes in this one wall before explaining this to me. They never mentioned this risk to me while quoting the project, nor did they mention it to me upon immediately discovering after cutting the first hole. Instead, I was told at the end of the day, when they abruptly left (and cleaned up poorly). Of course I incurred a full day rate for their employees being on site. I was never provided a sufficient reason for why I wasn't informed earlier in the day, before the project started (that this could be a risk), and of course at this point had a destroyed wall that needed to be repaired and painted, all for nothing.
Within a few weeks of leaving, the insulation in the basement vents began to fall. The duct tape was applied in a very lazy fashion, apparent to the most inexperienced home improvement individuals. Most areas of the basement could accommodate an entire wrap around of duct tape for reinforcement. When they came to "fix," they retaped all the insulation back onto the vents. There was no mention of humidity as a risk (our humidity levels are within normal ranges). Within a few months, it began to fall again. Instead of engaging in an endless cycle of having Koala attempt to fix this matter, every few weeks/months, we reasonably requested a prorated refund for the vent work. This is after the owner/franchisee even provided written statements that the work performed was inadequate. However, Koala refuses to refund us for the "work" and now alleges it's likely a humidity issue (without merit and ignoring the fact again that this risk could have been evaluated when quoting the job. Additionally after their first attempt to fix, this was not cited as an issue).I would advise using another insulation company in the area. This company is not trustworthy, in my opinion and experience.
