I am writing to share with others my positive experience working with Quaker State Construction Co. Bob Marmion, who designed our back porch was very detailed, helpful, listened to our questions, and gave answers which gave us much peace about our decision to go ahead with this project.
Also, the Surveyor came and was so precise in confirming that what we ordered would fit perfectly in the area. Then the young men who dug, poured cement, and built to precision our new porch worked well as a team and got right to work until the bitter end. But I must say, it was Sandy, who kept me assured of when and who was coming on said date and even months later helped me with paperwork. I would recommend this company and affirm they can be relied on for excellent performance and great management and teamwork. I extend my best wishes to each at Quaker State and hope 2025-2026 allows you to serve others with your excellent professional skills in construction.

Great company, great deck. Very polite, cleaned up the site at end of each day, worked through crazy cold weather and finished project very quickly.

Quaker State’s team did an excellent job on our deck and roof project! The finished deck and new stairs are beautiful and the post and step lighting is very nice, especially on dark winter nights. They also built an amazing new roof to cover a portion of the deck which allows for use even during rain and snow. Stefan and Martin were just great… Highly recommend! Thank you all for an outstanding job!

Quaker State installed a new deck for us this spring. They came a month earlier than anticipated and stayed on the job, including a Saturday, until it was complete. The deck looks fabulous. Everyone involved was professional and hard working. I'd definitely recommend this company.

We had a new deck installed last summer and I couldn't be happier with the results. Early in the process they were very receptive to our vision and the final product was better than expected. Once work began it only took 8 days for the old deck to be removed and for the new deck to be completed. All the workers were very friendly and careful to not damage any surrounding structures in the process.

Under no circumstances would I work with Quaker State Construction on my home. I recently purchased a home that they worked on in 2018, including a new roof and deck. Upon moving in we discovered that the roof was installed entirely incorrectly - shingles are upside down, wrong nail length used, and inadequate treatment that caused wood rotting….. a failed roof after only 6 years.

We worked to get in touch with Quaker to understand our options (as new homeowners) and they were unhelpful. They would not confirm which construction work they did, only that “it had to do with shingles”. Avoid these folks!!

EDIT: I did get in touch with the sellers who worked with Quaker State, who sent a copy of their contract (indicating that they did indeed do our roof) and said they paid their balance. So again- stay away from Quaker State!

Quaker State built a 60 X 21 deck at my home, replacing a 30 year old deck. The crew was great, the workmanship was impeccable and I couldn't be more happy. I highly recommend Quaker State Construction for your next project.

Quaker State Construction installed a new deck and railings at our home. From start to finish, the process was seamless and the results are gorgeous. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend Quaker State’s craftsmanship, attention to detail, and pace of work. From design to permitting, to finished product and final inspection, the team at Quaker State was professional, attentive, and fair. We secured quotes from several contractors for our deck project, but it ultimately came down to the comfort level we felt with their team. The finished product is beautiful, and they even helped us source other partners for landscaping, concrete work and the dry under deck system. If you’re building a deck, call these guys.

We had our original deck built in 2000 from Quaker State. The deck railing was in need of an update after 23 years, so we reached back out to Quaker State. They did a fantastic job! New, modern deck railing, timely installation, and cleaned up the site after the work was completed! Professional customer service from start to finish!

I have never worked with a company before that did not care if I was satisfied with the job they did. Never knew when or if workmen were coming. Had to call and call to get them to do clean-up which was never completed. No one with any authority seemed to care about how the work was completed or not. Nothing good to say about this company.

Bobby and Bill did a fantastic job at giving my deck a much-needed makeover! They improved my deck's appearance, such as adding new railings, replacing the old deck boards with composite decking, and propping the roof with two 6x6 posts. Their professionalism, work ethic, and reliability were top-notch. Bobby and Bill always kept me informed about the progress of my deck and allowed me to make important decisions with their input. If I had any questions or concerns, they answered my phone calls and/or text messages immediately. The entire project only took about three weeks to complete!

When discussing what work I wanted to be done with the deck, Bobby said something that stood out to me. He said, “We don’t have problems, we have solutions!” He was correct. No matter what problem was encountered, they knew exactly what to fix and how to fix it.

I would highly recommend Quaker State Construction because of its friendly and knowledgeable staff and their reliability. Specifically, I definitely would request Bobby and Bill to complete any of your home improvement projects.

My experience with Quaker State was first-class, start to finish. All of the employees whom I dealt with from the very beginning to the very end were highly knowledgeable & professional. My deck was constructed exactly as I wanted it. It was also done in a very timely manner. All I am waiting for now is the installation of my sliding glass door, and then I will be outside enjoying this long-awaited space for the rest of the year!

I am very well pleased with the work Tyler performed dismantling my old deck and replacing it with a brand new. Tyler was very professional and courteous at all times.

Quaker State Construction performed quality work on our deck and patio installation. Paul and Tyler both went above and beyond to make sure the work was done properly. I would recommend them for a large patio project.

Wonderful experience they implemented my plans and provided additional suggestions that improved my design and areas that included additional safety features. The project was completed through the winter which allowed us to enjoy our new porch the following spring. Great job Quaker State Construction!

QSC built a gable porch roof over my deck. I had three other contractors that signed for the job before them and each one took my deposit but never started. After I eventually got my deposit back from each one I then signed with QSC. They did a great job with the construction. The job is plumb, square and took extra measures to get the shingles to match. The three sets of crew that came out were courteous and professional. Kudos to their Supervisor/project manager as he always responded within 24 hours.

The company did start latter on my project than was cited in the contract and they took longer to finish than discussed, however the price never veered from the estimate.

I would use them again. They are true to their word.

We love our newly added roof and appreciate the time and attention Quaker State Construction gave to our project. Dave was wonderful to work with and took on a project that another builder had designed but never showed up to complete the job. Scott was our project manager and offered helpful suggestions we hadn't considered. He is extremely knowledgeable and does high quality work. We would use Quaker State again for additional home projects.

What a terrible experience. If I could give zero stars I would. Called to get a quote on a job and was immediately told we don’t do that because the job was too small. They also said they have no interest in my business. What awful customer service, I cannot believe someone recommended them to me. The person was not only rude but had a attitude. Unbelievable.

My husband and I had a new deck built and we are very happy the professional work that was done on our job. Everyone involved was polite, hard working, and efficient. We love our new deck!

This company does not operate in good faith! After not being able to obtain the proper permits from the township, Dave, the owner, kept $1300 of my deposit for doing absolutely nothing. His justification for it was that he had to pay someone to make a phone call or two to the township and for sending a salesman out to the the house a second time of which I did not ask for. A very costly experience that yield nothing! I would not use this company.

We had a deck built, workers were great. The company follow thru was almost nonexistent. No drawings, no checklist. We never knew if or when the workers would show up. (very expensive)
The finished deck is beautiful and we will enjoy for many years.

They did an extreme makeover for my deck, it’s beautiful. Very hard workers who worked long hours and were very pleasant. I’m thrilled with the deck!

We are thrilled with our new deck! We had a couple of other quotes at nearly 3 times more than Quaker but Dave Dickson came up with a perfect solution for us. They started our job very quickly after we decided to go with them and they got it done within 2 weeks. Eric and Anthony were such professional and meticulous craftsmen who were also very friendly. We had steps to our yard added and it is such a quality staircase compared to any I have seen! We are so impressed with the quality materials and job they did as well as the cleanup. We made the right choice!

My buddy hired this company to build him a deck and the ppl were late as well as unprofessional. one of the ppl working for this company must of been high on heroin because the guy kept nodding off and then the same guy was sitting in their truck doped out. The quality of the workmanship was poor at best. They overcharged him a ton and I had to get my other buddy to fix this companies mistakes because after a couple weeks there were big gaps where the railings came together and bowing planks. I wouldn't hire this company to build something with Lincoln logs let alone something you and loved ones spend time on.

They did an outstanding job on our huge roof deck & decking. The portico is beautiful with new leaded glass front door & side panels. Our home is featured on KDKA from Spring through Fall on Quaker State Construction's commercials. Thank you Dave Dixon & everyone involved!!!

Tim and Kent did a great job in building my new deck. Not only were they master craftsmen, they were helpful in answering any questions I had. Both of them were pleasant and it was obvious their primary interest was serving the customer.

I had a deck built on my bottom level previously and was not a happy customer with that company. When I decided to add a deck at my living level, I called Quaker State Construction (who I had previously had install new windows and doors). My new deck is beautiful and was quality built. I have two neighbors with similar decks and you can see the extra steps Quaker State took to build a quality deck. The workers were here in temperatures in the 20's and 30's working every day, all day. They cleaned up everything 100%. I can't wait for warm weather now so we can start using the deck.

Fantastic experience, top quality construction. We had both a new pool deck and roof over our patio installed. Mark and Mike did an excellent job on our pool deck. Mark's pride in his craftsmanship was evident from his first day on the job. Scott, John and Tom did the roof over our patio and again, absolutely beautiful work. Not to mention just nice guys to be around. Paul, the project manager, was excellent as well. Quickly and efficiently tackled any concern we had along the way. In fact, when we texted a question early on a Sunday morning, both Tom and Scott showed up at our house to check in with us! Truly outstanding service. We could not be happier with the way both projects turned out and would absolutely recommend Quaker State and these crews in particular! We will certainly go back to them for any future projects!

Complete scam. Charging $10000 for a $4000 max deck. I will post pics of the deck when complete. Get more than one quote people. You are paying a premium for their financing. Made the job sound quite involved and are not doing what they said they would do.

That is the deck one year later that is attached in the photo. Not sure why it cost so much and it is already falling apart.

I agree that they did not work for me. This was done on my neighbors house. Notice they do not deny the fact that their company built the deck. Willing to email them the address to confirm it is their work.

I am writing this note to let you know how pleased we are with our raised 17 x 24 deck. We worked patiently to screen contractors. I can say that Quaker State earned their reputation.

Jeff , helped to fulfill our dream. Let us not forget Jeremy who came out twice to double check the design, etc. The two main people I would like to thank are Mark Roy and his assistant Mike. From the very start, to the end, they paid attention to every detail of the project. Each day after finishing, they cleaned the work area. Their dedication and professionalism is something Quaker State should be very proud of. Thank you to the office staff. They handled questions from me with no delay.

We recently had had a 12x16 deck installed on 6-18-17 was very poorly built. his workers never showed up with promised. we had several things wrong with the deck, 5 boards came up. two steps was off level, when asked to come and fix we never gotten a call back. And we hired a different company to come fix. they could not fix the deck due to insurance issues. we are under a lawyer advisor to write this review. I hope this helps others to don't let company waste your money and time. Please know the company we hired did a amazing job, it only took them 3 days to complete. we gave them a review as well. TY

Quaker state construction took forever to complete the project and now there are issues later down the road trying to get them to make repair is impossible no service after the sale they have there money and still have not done any repair it has been almost 2 months now trying get repair done stay clear of this contractor terrible !!!!!!

Dave and his crew did a fantastic job for us! No, they weren't the lowest bid we got, but they were worth every penny. We had a gigantic, two-level deck, in very poor condition, and Quaker State did a complete makeover, including replacing the steps between the two levels.

And I have nothing but praise for his crew. Mike and Kenny were there every day, and worked their butts off. They rarely took breaks, and they finished the project a lot sooner than I expected, with perfect workmanship.

I have recommended Quaker State to all of my neighbors and friends.

High Quality Construction! Dave Dickson was very helpful in listening to us and designing our covered porch and deck. His builders did excellent work and were friendly and easy to work with. It was helpful to periodically be present during the building to ensure that all the details of the design made it to the finished product, and address the typical tweaks that arose. The team was very accommodating. Only negative was that the 3 week project turned into a 6 week project; however, weather (snow and rain) was a big contributing factor and we made it clear that we were in no rush. Even after the project was finished, and paid for, Dave sent out someone to fix a couple of things. I would definitely recommend Quaker State.

We contracted with Quaker State in 2015 for a complete deck makeover. they did not build to local code requirements and had to come back to fix. They farmed out the deck makeover to an independent contractor that took a very long time to finish the deck. They also erred in the construction such that we recently discovered from our insurance company that the poor workmanship of the deck caused significant water damage to our house. We are in the process of filing the claims with the insurance company and Quaker state. We went to Quaker State because we wanted a reputable company that does not make these types of mistakes.

We hired Quaker State Construction to build a 30' deck roof and front porch portico. Quality was excellent and beautiful along with service. Our house is the most admired in our Ryan Home development. We receive compliments all the time. Thanks to Sandy, Dave Dickson & all the staff we are a happy customer. Our home is also previewed on KDKA TV & WTAE TV. This is a great compliment & makes our home highly sell-able if we do so in the future. Thank you again Dave, Sandy & Staff.
