Prompt response; professional; on-time; and they were good at communicating any sort of changes due to weather etc. The overall communication was excellent. Got the new roof on in the time they said it would take. Their crew worked hard. We have not found any nails around the house (something we discovered often after a roofing job at our first house many years ago). I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation.

Katchmark just finished the fourth roofing job they've done for us, and it was done with the same expertise and professionalism as the first three. If you need someone for a roofing project, you can't go wrong with Katchmark.

This is one of the most rudest and dishonest roofing company in the DMV. Do not use them. They do the bare minimum and never fix your problem.
Had a leak in the roof they had came supposedly fix it a few years later I have the same leak called and try to talk to them and they still blame you. They say it’s not part of the roof and make other excuses and want to charge you to come out there n fix the same issue they should have fix in the 1st place

I cannot say enough things about Katchmark Construction. The projects they completed at the properties I manage/managed went smoothly and saved our clients thousands of dollars. If anyone ever needs a reference, I am happy to share how Katchmark Construction exceeded my expectations.

Don't give these guys referrals. Cause they say they give you money for a person that goes w them. They never paid. Called multiple times. Never paid. Called Steve katchmark, his wife, his brother. Nobody ever cared to send me a simple 250. Don't even need it. Just keep your word, don't lie

The room was left spotless when we left the house and upon return my girlfriend find her older underwear scattered. The other rooms were trashed as well. You have failed as a company to provide a professional service and for that I am compelled to take legal action. Clean up or get out of the business. Underwear sniffers.

My husband and I hired Katchmark to replace the siding , windows , and gutters on our townhouse. We worked with Vinny who is the Vice President of the company. We signed the contract in July and the work was done in October. The crew was respectful of our property along with our neighbors. The work started on a Wednesday and was completed by Friday evening. The crew stayed late to complete the gutters because the weather was calling for rain all weekend. We highly recommend Katchmark .

Had Katchmark replace our entire roof which was a huge project. They had it done in the time frame they specified and did a fantastic job. Have already recommended Katchmark to other residents within our community. Would use them again for any roof project.

They hire drivers that have never driven in this country. Refused to get out of the passing Lane at 55 mph. Marked as a racist comment because their drivers can not read or obey road signs which is dangerous. Anything can have an undertone of racism if your racist which this company obviously is by attempting to label me as such. Company is full of racists due to their racist returned comment.

The Katchmark team was very responsive and professional. The multiple custom skylight job they did at our home was one that many others couldn’t figure out, but they navigated the entire job without any issue whatsoever. Glad I found them.

Highly Recommend! Well-established family business. Jake was punctual and respectful of us / our home, methodical in finding the source of roof leak, and efficiently / effectively fixed the issue. Neat and clean from his handiwork to his work truck. An absolute professional who demonstrated his experience and genuine commitment to customer satisfaction.

Highly recommend if you want your property destroyed, a lackadaisical, uninterested attitude from the CEO, and thousands of dollars out of your pocket. TRASH company.
Katchmark’s inept workers flooded my condo while installing WINDOWS AND SCREENS on my condo building. After completely flooding both my condo and my upstairs neighbors condo with toxic fire retardant sprinkler water, our entire home had to be stripped to just wood framing and completely remodeled.
I couldn’t live in my home for 6 months and Steve Katchmark Jr offered up to 100/night at a hotel during demolition which is laughable in Tyson’s Corner, VA. After 18 months I am finally done dealing with Katchmark and their insurance company to pay the complete bill, as they insisted on only paying 80% of it claiming they aren’t responsible for actual cash, just depreciation.

Also, after all this, they didn’t even install the screen door correctly that they were replacing. It was upside down. In the end, I’m out $2000 dollars after 2 years of navigating their even more inept insurance company.
$62000 dollars of damage + $20,000 of BNB rentals later, I don’t suggest using Katchmark for anything other than as a horrible example of an honest, ethical contracting company.

Would also like to add, the day my place was flooded, there was no apology from Katchmark himself, he just came and told me it would be taken care of and “unfortunately this happened last year” in my same community. Thanks for taking care of it, would rather have you take care of that $2000 missing from my bank account. My condo hired this company for a 3 MILLION DOLLAR RENOVATION and no one could seem to get me my last $2000. NIGHTMARE.

[edit after reading response] I didn’t work extensively with Katchmark himself or any representative of the company. On the day of the flood he emailed me saying that I can communicate with insurance from that point forward. I didn’t speak with Steven himself until 2 years later on the phone saying insurance was insisting on not covering the full reconstruction. The “additional terms” were simply to be reimbursed for my home. I asked for not a penny extra, even though my home, workspace, and peace of mind were destroyed. Not too late to meet my “additional terms” either. Multi-million dollar company can’t cut a check for $2000. Sad. Would have loved someone to reach out instead of via a Google review pretending to show a splinter of ethics.

I highly recommend Katchmark Construction construction. I can tell you without a doubt he runs one of the best roofing and siding in the area if you need any help with roof or siding I highly recommend his company because they will take great care of your home or commercial building!

Steve, wanted to thank you, Joe and the install crew for the very nice job on our roof, it looks awesome.  I know you guys did some "above and beyond" work for us as well, and we appreciate everything you guys did for us.  Joe did a great job on-site and the crew led by Javier did amazing work too. Joe was on top of everything, and I feel like he made sure that everything done for us was over the top, felt like very personalized service which we also appreciated.

Excellent service replacing the flat roof on our 1920s DC rowhome last winter. A true test came this January, when our central heating broke down. The added insulation from the new roof meant the house kept warm, even in 15 deg weather, for a week, with only three space heaters. Thank you guys

Commitment and Integrity. Katchmark has both. I had Katchmark install a flat roof on my 100 year old house in DC. Bid was competitive and they completed the work in the time frame they estimated. Did issues come up, yes. Roofs are not easy, ive had several roofs done and they all have had problems…what’s different here is that Katchmark came out and fixed the problem immediately. This is a company that stands by their work and their customers. I couldn’t be happier with them, this is a company that sticks by their work.

Dave Hill was a pleasure to work with, as he was knowledgeable and a prompt communicator. We had a very tricky problem with our gutter system, and many other companies had no idea how to fix it. Katchmark quickly came up with a plan, sent us a video on how they would accomplish part of the job, and scheduled our work to be done. The crew who came out was prompt, courteous, and let us know how the work was proceeding. We couldn't be happier with the work.

Quality of work is second to none. Katchmark was on time for all the work we had done. The work teams used "a clean up as you go" approach, and the office was very responsive.

It is always a pleasure to be associated with professionals. My first experience with Katchmark representatives was outstanding. We had a roof leak which manifested itself in a ceiling stain in our bathroom shower. Good experience working with Katchmark for minor roofing repairs and improvement. Fernando, the warranty manager, was responsive to conduct a survey and schedule the work appointment. Aurelio and Emmett arrived early and did a good job with the repairs and improvements. Would work with Katchmark again.

Katchmark recently went above and beyond to repair a difficult water leak in my siding. The leak was very hard to find and they were most professional beginning to end on the project. In the process of finding the leak I had removed some of my sheet rock interior wall to expose the leak and two of Fernando's crew, Joe and Yugo, just finished up repairing this interior wall and it looks beautiful. They did a great job making the repair area better than when they started, both on the outside and the inside. Andrew was the salesman I dealt with and he and Fernando were most professional and polite in all my dealings with them. Thank you for going way beyond to find and stop my water leak, and for doing a beautiful job putting the outside and inside back to a condition better than when you started. Katchmark also installed my roof 12 years ago, which has never had a leak. This is a great company to work with.

I wanted to write a positive review for David Hill, a salesman for Katchmark Construction. I am totally blind, and he took his time reviewing options for a front door of my home. I found him to be professional, kind, and most importantly knowledgeable. I am highly satisfied with his services. His quote came in lower by almost $2000 lower than another competitor for the exact same product. Thank you, David, for such friendly and caring attention to those of us who need a good respectable contractor. I am looking forward to my new door. DO NOT use this company.

The condo association for my development hired Katchmark to redo the roofs on all the buildings (about six or seven). Work started in October, and they are STILL here in late January. Here are just some of the issues we've witnessed in that time:

1. Our development has access to the W&OD trail. Katchmark decided to dump all their roofing materials for the job right near the entrance to the trail, partially blocking the entrance and absolutely destroying the lawn without a care. They've also destroyed part of the lawn in the complex that leads to the trail.

2. Workers have tossed significant debris off the roof, which almost hit me in the head once. Sometimes, the workers toss debris off the opposite side of the roof without looking below. They can also be slow to clean it up.

3. We had a cable hooked up to an unused satellite connection on the roof. Instead of removing it right away (as they promised to do several times), the workers kept moving it to the point where it crossed right in front of our door. After some persistent bugging, they finally removed it.

4. My fiancee and I slept poorly for several nights because of a loud rumbling on the roof. Apparently, the roofers just left a disconnected satellite dish up there, and the wind was blowing it back and forth all night.

5. I passed by a worker once who was standing and hocking loogies in my neighbor's garden. That same neighbor also had a problem with her heating/cooling unit, which we believe the workers shifted or tampered with on one occasion.

6. One time, I was sitting on my couch and looked up to see a worker glancing in at me through the hole in the upstairs window curtain. Maybe it was an accidental glance, but very creepy nonetheless.

7. The work looks sloppy and shoddy. I've never seen people work so long on a job that has shown such little progress. They have a ton of workers, so, even with the occasional weather setbacks, one would think it wouldn't take this long and/or it would look better.

Generally, it's just annoying to have unprofessional people working in your development for three whole months, banging on roofs, stomping, shouting, hurling debris, blocking parking spots (not ours, but many others), and more without any idea when they will finish. At this point, it seems like they'll never leave.

Working with Katchmark Construction has been a very positive experience, they are very responsive, clearly have the expertise, and are a just very nice down to earth group of people.

My husband and I contracted Katchmark Construction, Inc. to overhaul the exterior of our home. The project was extensive and included windows, siding, gutters, shutters, front door, and fixture replacement on the outside (the only thing they didn't replace was the roof!). We worked with David Hill who is a seasoned sales person with Katchmark (over 20 years of employment with the company) and it truly shows. He acted as a project manager for us as he was out main point of contact throughout the process. He helped make things so easy and as stress free as possible for us. He helped make my design vision come alive and was there for us every step of the way. He was proactive with communication and was always accessible to us. He consistently went above and beyond. One example that I can share is that we had a slight malfunction with our new front door which caused us to get locked out of the house and he offered to drive to our house on a Sunday to help us get back inside.

The craftsmanship of the different crews who came to work on your house was exceptional. I was especially impressed with Thomas and his crew who were in charge of our siding and trim. They were thorough and took their time to make sure that they did a great job. Our neighbors even commented at how "deliberate" they seemed to be and how much time they took on that aspect of the project to make sure everything was flawless.

Any and all of the concerns that we had were immediately addressed as Katchmark seems to stand by their work and honor customer satisfaction. I was referred to Katchmark by a neighbor who had hired them to do work on 2 separate residences over the years and we were so happy that we used them for our home renovation project. I would highly recommend the company and, even more so, would recommend working with David Hill. I feel confident that he will work just as hard for you as he did for us.

Our experience began with an estimate. Andrew was knowledgeable and professional. He worked with us and our insurance company to ensure the best return and scope of work. We opted for a new roof, PVC trim and gutters. Jaime, the project manager was very thorough and treated our home as though it were his own. He managed each step of the project and addressed each of our concerns very quickly. The crews were excellent and the finished project turned out exactly as we had hoped. We highly recommend Katchmark.

I needed my roof repaired from some hail damage and I worked directly with Andrew from Katchmark. the process was as painless as it could be, the most difficult aspect being choosing from the myriad of options. The cost came in at exactly the quoted price, the team finished on time and the workmanship is surprisingly good. The roofers also installed a self venting system which allowed me to remove my gable fans and central attic fan which greatly improved the aesthetics of my home. My parents had a particularly challenging metal roof and Katchmark performed well on that replacement also. The most one can hope for in today's market is an honest job at an honest price with a company that will stand behind their work. Katchmark exceeded all three in my estimation.

Andrew did an inspection of my roof checking for how an unwanted critter decided to live in my attic. He was extremely courtesy and thorough. Even after not finding an entry/exit point on the roof/gutters, he went that extra step to enter the attic to look from the inside-out. He took pictures that then allowed me to have my pest guys take appropriate steps; saving them time (and yes me $$). Andrew continued the Katchmark high standards of professionalism and always always taking pictures to show me exactly the condition of my roof and gutters. I highly recommend Katchmark.

Great job by the team. Great communications with Dave and the site lead. They said it would take 2 days - or maybe 3. They finished the work in one day and came back the next for a few clean-up items. Couldn't be happier with the job that they did!

We had damage to our roof caused by a tree fall. Katchmark worked with our insurance company to ensure that all of the needed repairs would be covered. We also added some additional work, including replacing an old skylight. The work has been completed and the quality is excellent. I will definitely use them again if needed.

Super professional service. We had our roof replaced due to hail damage. David worked with the insurance company to make sure we got as much of the replacement covered as possible. We had to reschedule the work several times due to snow/rain (they always notified us of schedule changes), but they fit us in during the middle of the winter and worked from very early morning to late in the evening to make sure the work was completed as quickly as possible. We are very happy with the result. Our new roof looks beautiful!

We used Katchmark several years ago at the advice of a neighbor to install skylights and do minor roof repairs. We were very pleased. However, our roof was damaged badly during this year's rainy windstorm, causing lots of water to leak into our living room. Again, we called Katchmark, and they came out the very next day to patch the leaking roof until we could submit our claim. This was a lifesaver during the torrential rain. There was no doubt who we would use to install our new roof! Katchmark did a beautiful job of installing roof and gutters in two days. The process was seamless, and their staff (Andrew Hunter and Eric Templeton, especially) were always accessible during the process and very accommodating of our needs. Thank you Katchmark for coming through for us once again!

I had a wonderful experience with this company. My roof was damaged my the March 2018 wind storm and all of the roofing companies were booked out. Austin Alam went to bat with my insurance company, when the other 2 companies I got quotes from would not until I signed a contract (I get it - there was plenty of business). Austin came out more than once and got up on my roof on some of the hottest days of the month to take additional pictures and documentation of the roof condition for my insurance company. If he hadn't done such a great job, I wouldn't have had the money to get the job done. The crew was equally hard working. My neighbors commented on how clean the yard was when the crew finished,

We had our roof replaced in April after the wind storm and used Katchmark construction. I highly recommend them. They replaced our roof in one day and did a beautiful job. The roof looks great! They answered all my questions and even with all the damage in our neighborhood our roof was one of the first ones completed. My roof blew off my place during the March 2, 2018 windstorm here in DC. I called Katchmark on March 2, they had an estimator out here on Saturday March 3. Roof was put on 10 days later on Tuesday.

The customer service and communication are second to none. All my emails were responded to promptly. Before having the invoice for the remaining 2/3 of the cost sent to me (after install) I indicated that I wanted to take a walk through of their work. I found a couple of spots that I thought could use some attention and took pictures. I emailed the pictures on Saturday and on Monday they had someone out to do the modifications.

Back in 2007 when I had just bought my house I found Katchmark in Washington Consumer Checkbook. I had never had a flat roof before so I called Katchmark to see if they would come out and tell me the condition of the roof and what I needed to do to take care of it. A guy came out, took me up on the roof and told me what I needed to do to make it last. Total cost for this consultation was nothing. Because of this decency they were my first call when I was in a real bad spot. They didn’t do me wrong.

I recently used Katchmark to replace the siding and do some roof repairs on my 19939 home in Arlington. I suppose I could be considered a "difficult homeowner" as I care about the quality of work performed and was on-site for the whole project. The work was done professionally. The crew very considerate of any requests I made and adapted to some last minute changes that really made the job complete. I was impressed with the level of supervision, both on-site and the Project Supervisor who dropped by several times during the project. Last, and just as important, was the complete fit of all components of the project and the wonderful effort with clean up. I have already discussed another project with Katchmark and look forward to another success.

We have been using Katchmark for over a decade for windows, doors and siding. Most recent project involved replacement of siding from hail damage. The crew was professional and cleaned everything up. They handled everything with insurance for extras, etc.

They also used materials which were premium over the guys who went door to door selling hail damage repair.

We have also never had an issue getting warranty work on a couple windows that had fogging.

I would recommend them for work and David Hill is a great contact to have.

Katchmark construction out of Chantilly, VA was amazing to work with. Their team was extremely professional and handled my entire roof replacement job with top quality.

It all started with their experienced Home Consultant Vinnie, who came by after I had contact them and conducted a thorough inspection of my roof. He took his time checking every side of the house, examined the roof in detail, educated me on the process and explained how his team would operate. He later followed up with the necessary paperwork: insurance, certificate(s), and proposal. Katchmark’s price was fair and in line with what I expected from a reputable company.

After the initial inspection and estimate, I was contacted by their scheduling team to arrange for material delivery. They did so following my instructions and delivered everything on time. Once I was on the calendar, they kept me informed of every step via emails and phone calls. In addition, during each phase of the project, the PM, Taylor (who was awesome) would personally call me and provide updates. I even received pictures of my roof being replaced as I was working late that week.

Their crew was professional, showed up on time, worked together to tackle every component of the job. The crew was very respectful of our home environment. More importantly they clean up each day and ensured that no debris was left behind.

The Katchmark team of Vinnie, Lori, Taylor, Julie and Kelsey was simply the very best. I had total peace of mind and confidence regarding my roof and my house. Everything was done professionally and cleanly. I would always go back to them for any future needs.

We had new windows put in our house by Katchmark Construction. They installed the windows and wrapped everything in aluminum all in one day. There was no debris left behind. They were professional and efficient. We are extremely pleased and would highly recommend their services.

am surprised to see 1 stars given for this company as my experience was completely opposite. From start to finish they were responsive, professional and kind, which will win my business any day. The workmanship was great, and if there was an issue, like my shutters being the wrong size, they were up front, and took care of the issue immediately. I have referred them to several people and thus far the feedback has only been positive. I suspect if I had any concerns down the road with my roof or any of the work they’ve done they would take care of it timely... I am confident of that.

Katchmark replaced my roof and my parents roof last year. The staff is extremely professional. Their workers took the necessary precautions to make sure our AC units were protected and they cleaned up after completion. No trash or nails left in the yard or gutters. Great company.

I had the pleasure of working with Katchmark to repair my roof after a hail storm. Setting up an appt was easy and the rep met me on time and explained the entire process in detail. He helped me select the correct roof shingles and even met with my insurance company. Overall a great experience and quality work. They even scheduled to roof repair while I was on vacation!!

I live in Winchester, VA and these guys did great work and were very organized and professional on my neighbors house and the supervisor Jake was really cool when I bothered him with questions.

Unorganized. Two men rang my doorbell at 7:30AM claiming they were sent to work on the small rooftop above my door but I didn't hire anyone to fix our roof. They had a picture of MY house but with a different address. The men then went to our neighbor's house down the street (the house number listed on their paperwork) and then proceeded to sit in their car for nearly 30 minutes with a window cracked in 15 degree weather. Seems our neighbors did hire them now that they're working on the house, but it was very suspicious this morning watching them sit in a vehicle for such a long time in such cold weather with a window opened and knowing they had pictures of my home.

I had Katchmark replace roof, install gutters and fix siding. My experience was very poor, specially communication and follow-up. Before signing the work, I had numerous conversation with sale rep, and he pretty much promised everything.

When work was getting done, nothing was communicated to workers. Also started making excuses for workers who cheated by not replacing attic roof fan. We also had workers showing up to our doors without any prior notice.

Now we noticed one of the issue is not resolved, I am asking sale person to help us resolve it. He didnot respond to emails for days and now he is coming back and saying, he doesn't know how to fix it.

I would recommend stay away from this contractor unless you want headaches and issues.

As the time Jerry was evaluating my house, he was a friendly and polite person. He promised that the roof would be done in 2 weeks and everything will be in good shape. However, after a week, only 1/3 the work was done and I stopped hearing from them. I called Jerry hoping for an update. He did not pick up the phone call so I left a message. Understanding that construction could be time consuming and he could have had multiple customers, I waited for a good amount of time then tried to contact him again. After few days, I’ve soon realized that he would never pick up the phone. So, I called the company and they connected to his office phone. Finally, he picked up the phone. I asked for the time frame and the progress of the project so I can make sure that I provide them payment on time and make sure they have whatever they need for the job. Sadly, and unbelievably, Jerry pounded my politeness with a plain answer “We will be there soon”. Patiently, I asked for more detail but he stormed me with his heavy tone “YOU ARE BOTHERING ME”. I was shock, surprise and outrage about how unprofessional a person, a worker, more importantly, a company representor could be. I worked as a computer technician for multiple years so I do understand the pressure from customer could get tough sometimes or maybe there was some bad day. However, does not matter which direction a contract could go, or how bad a day could be, this rudeness, unprofessional, irresponsible were never appeared and should’ve never happened in any company. They fail to deliver their promise, could not update the work to their customer, being disrespectful and clearly, they fail do to their job. At this moment, I’m patiently dealing with the manager hoping everything will be address in timely manner. Otherwise, I have no choice but bring the matter to court. I hope those who read my message reconsider your decision before coming to Katchmark. I went to the frustration with them and so I wrote this to share wish no one out there have to deal with this frustration with Katchmark in particular or any company in general.

Excellent service, hard workers, AND showed up every day! The work done is beautiful and complete. We highly recommend Katchmark, and David Hill and all the supervisors of each project were professional and always responded quickly if we had questions or concerns. So nice to deal with people who truly cared and took pride in their work.

This is a review for the quote process and install process for a townhouse in Woodbridge that will be using NOVA Sprayfoam EcoFoam instead of the usual pink blow-in insulation with ridge vent. Andrew Hunter was the rep for my parents' neighbor and the neighbors gladly referred me to Andrew the day Katchmark was doing their insurance claim install on their home. Theirs was a huge job--many skylights, new roof, custom log home... The same day I called Andrew, he returned my call. I had already done the quote process with five other companies over the course of four months. All the others said, they don't work with insurance OR they gave me low quotes (that I learned later were upsold the day of install for way more $) OR they gave me retail quotes that were 2.5 times what the insurance company would pay.) To be fair, the insurance company won't pay for ALL new plywood on a hail claim. When I bought my place a year ago though, the inspector did not catch the cupping of the attic plywood under the roof and the poor, poor install by the previous owner that cause it. I needed ALL new plywood, all new shingles, and a guarantee from their shingle manufacturer that they would not void the manufacturer warranty if I used the EcoFoam. Nobody else could make that happen for a decent price. Andrew was very informative about great and very reasonably priced upgrades to an architectural shingle, explained cost cutting strategies so I had options, gave me a clear single page quote, set my expectations appropriately for day of install, and I was done within two weeks for less money AND with better materials than the other guys. The install crew was courteous, helpful when I had to move some plants, done in six hours/same day, and it looks great. Comparatively, Andrew and the Katchmark team made the process effortless from start to finish! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

A guy from this company approached us through flyers at the door claiming he will help submit the hail damage claim. He seemed honest at the beginning but I started seeing the true colors towards the end of the work completion.

The work was NOT done satisfactorily. There are issues with the finishing. Working with them to resolve these issues.

For now leaving at single star. Hoping he will fix the issues gracefully. Will conclude the feedback/rating based on the final outcome.

I have had my roof and siding done on two different occasions. I love that they are locally owned. They will make sure you are pleased. They do a very professional job. Their customer service is excellent and have had no problems. If they can do it they are my option every time.
