Thomas M was an excellent technician and did great work fixing all the basement windows around the house. These windows are difficult to find a replacement but he was able to repair and repaint them. The other technician was Pablo He worked on caulking all the windows around the house and he did some filling work on the garage sliding doors You did a good job, but Pablo left his trash around and didn’t pick up after himself so Thomas M and I did that on the third day. It took three days total, but it was two men for two days and one man for a 3/4 of a day actually. Although I’ll probably get charged for a full day, Since it went past noon. The labor portion is the most expensive and a little higher than I initially anticipated. So I was hoping for a quicker turnaround, but overall quality work was completed. I would highly recommend Thomas M as a technician to do future work. He’s very knowledgeable, friendly and does a great job.

Everything I needed is done, very well, and even more. I couldn’t imagine such a good work, kindly and neatly done. It was a pleasure to have Jimmy work in our home.

JW Home Improvement - We hire this Handy Man company to do a wall painting job and a laminate flooring job also, but due to cost only the laminate job was done. Ms. Janice at the JWHI billing office was very patient courteous and helpful throughout the entire process. She is a keeper!!!

All the projects I had were finished quickly and thoroughly to complete satisfaction. The workers spoke English and communicated well about any problems they found. Some of our wood was rotten. They showed it to me and I told them I wanted it replaced and they took care of it. The office manager was helpful too and let me know immediately how much the extra work would cost. I felt like everything was discussed with me first, which I really appreciated. The workers had a lot of experience and were very knowledgeable. They gave me some tips and advice for future projects and home maintenance. Since this is our first time owning a home I really appreciated the advice. I was pleasantly surprised by the way one the workers solved the problem of a screw that I had accidentally broken in the middle of the post for my staircase handrail. I thought I would have to replace the post, but he found a solution and it saved me a lot of money and time.

I asked for a simple prep and paint of the framing around a 2nd story picture window (about 5 x 7 feet with multiple frames). What I got was a nearly $5,000 estimate to replace the exterior moldings around it and some simple light scraping of the wooden panes NOT replacing the window. They estimated two people for a week of work. RIDICULOUS!!! One person could have easily done all the work in 1-2 days. They also pressured me trying to "upscale" the work by pointing out a handful of other exterior areas in need of prep & paint. The two jobs were estimated at nearly $12,000. I ended up doing most of this latter prep & paint work myself over a 3-day weekend. Bottom line, while the two people were very polite, they encouraged me to let them inside and talk about the jobs. While inside the house, there was a lot of pressure and "urgency" to sign the contract while they were sitting there or at least by the end of the day. I thought their whole pressure approach was like an old school car salesman...too much pressure...I would not recommend them for handyman services. They need to adjust their approach.

Janice did a SUPER job on sending invoices and helpful on the phone for final payment. The crew that finished our basement were great, very professional, polite and cleaned up their mess at the end of each day. I would recommend them highly.

Jesse is the old-fashioned contractor.
He is incredibly responsive to all homeowners requests. He recently looked at some minor soffit and fascia work that were in need of replacement.
He is a profit-driven company, as are all of us. The disturbing part of the on-site
Mtg was when Jesse offered a "$150 "bet" that he could find more problems in the house. That wrapped it up for me. He was out to look at a small problem and was actually trying to expand the scope of work. At $503/hr, he is ridiculously overpriced. I used another Contractor and the work was done perfectly at 60% of his proposal.

They did great work repairing carpenter bee damage. Would highly recommend. Janice was a tremendous help in scheduling and making sure that everything ran smoothly!

Working with JW Home Improvement has been my best choice over the years for completing my projects on time and within budget. Janice is a professional and easy to work with, and I appreciate the fact that my calls are returned on time. I will call them again for my next home improvement project.

Marcos and Jon did an amazing job renovating our kitchen by knocking down a wall, rewiring electricity and building an island. Marcos was very professional, and he asked me a lot of questions to make sure that the job was done how I wanted it to be done. We were very happy with the finished project!

I refreshed my bathroom with new floor and shower, tub, paint and vanity. Josh listens carefully on estimates and responds quickly. Abdias and Brian are excellent craftsmen especially with subway tile layout with variety of formats. Thanks to all the crew including Janice. I was really impressed with the overall experience!

I have used JW for several projects over the past couple of years and they never disappoint. They've handled a variety of things for my house including roofing, siding, and some minor interior renovation work. The price always stays within the estimate range, and if they overestimate the price, Janice in billing will refund any overage quickly.

This is a very professional &reputable firm. Cesare did an amazing job with both projects. Janice made billing out effortless. I highly recommend this company and I will use them again.

Let me start by saying they are a bit pricey, but here's why they get 5 stars. The service was exceptional and efficient. They quoted a full days service which is expensive. But the work was completed early, the service staff (Tomas Matamoros) was efficient and the reduction was accounted for in the bill. After the service was scheduled, I had received an email with a 15% off any service for the month of April. The company (via Janice Chuck) honored the discount with no questions asked. Not every company would do that, but JW just said 'no problem' and applied the discount.

Found them from Angi's. Jesse was very prompt scheduling and taking an initial evaluation of my site, friendly and informative. When the workers came in, they were came in on time. They explained that they will do and they did the work professionally and finished on time. I would recommend JW Home Improvement to anyone who needs work in their home.

JW Home Improvement completed an excellent job repairing rotted wood on my properties front door frame. Janice Chuck scheduled me at the earliest possible window and the job was completed earlier than the estimated time on my original invoice. I highly recommend their service!

We’ve had some good projects… and some more questionable ones. Latest one for a laundry room redo, the estimator was very UNKNOWLEDGEABLE. We intended to buy our own materials and he could not confidently tell us what sizes to order - leading to further delays of ordering, returning and reordering along with each subsequent wait and shipping times . This latest project was definitely overcharged. Although we have used JW for 3-4 projects in the past, we will now consider using other companies for any future projects.

Janice helped us get 2 skilled contractors from their team to take care of a couple of issues with our home. The did a great job. The only drawback was the estimate was a bit expensive, but overall the work was very good quality so it was I felt it was worth the price.

This review is for Janice Chuck only. She is professional, responsive, attention to detail, personable, and thorough. I have a somewhat different opinion of project management, but Janice represents the brand of J&W well.

Before hiring JW Home Improvement, I saw a review describing them as "refreshing" - which is exactly right. Janice Chuck, Fernando, Alan, Luis, Omar, and Jesse, among others provided excellent service on several handyman repairs as well as building a new walk-in shower. **Exceptional Service from JW Home Improvement – A Review Worth Writing**

Let me start by saying I hate writing reviews, but after the service I just received, I felt absolutely compelled to share my experience.

A few days ago, that dreaded moment happened. Our garbage disposal finally gave out. With four daughters, a wife, plenty of spoons, and after years of loyal service, it had officially met its match. I had tried finding quality and trustworthy people and did what anyone would do—asked family and friends. That’s when I remembered JW Home Improvement doing my parents’ deck. They had nothing but great things to say about the experience, so I gave JW a call.

After reaching out to multiple companies, many told me it was too small of a job. After a few frustrating calls with unreliable handymen, I called JW Home Improvement and spoke with James Hinton, who promptly scheduled Jesse and Josh to come assess the situation. Thank God I did.

Jesse Wertjes and Josh Metz came out, assessed the situation, and gave me three different options at varying price points. That level of transparency and choice immediately built my trust. With a full family in the house, I opted for the Cadillac of disposals, one that can apparently grind chicken bones, which feels like a necessary feature at this point.

From there, Angela Redd, the project coordinator, called to schedule the installation. When our appointment day arrived, so did a snowstorm. Impressively, Angela let me know the tech was still willing to make the call. I chose to reschedule because I didn’t want anyone driving in those conditions, but the dedication spoke volumes.

On the rescheduled day, Weldon Harris, the office manager, personally called me in the morning to update me that the technician, Fernando, was running a little behind due to another job taking longer. I didn’t mind at all because the communication was spot on, which to me is one of the most important aspects of good service.

When Fernando arrived, he introduced himself and immediately got to work. Everything was smooth until we realized the manufacturer had provided the wrong power cord. Instead of cutting corners, Fernando ran out to Home Depot to get a heavier-duty replacement. That kind of attention to detail blew me away.

And the service didn’t stop there. Janice Chuck in billing made the payment process seamless, taking care of everything right away. Later, Luis Molina even followed up to ensure the entire process had gone smoothly and asked if I’d be willing to leave a review. Absolutely.

This was my first time using JW Home Improvement, but it definitely won’t be my last. I’m already scheduling an estimate with them for a bathroom remodel and kitchen cabinet revamp. If this is how well they handle a garbage disposal install, I can only imagine how smooth my remodels will go.

JW Home Improvement isn’t the cheapest company I spoke to, and I didn’t pick the cheapest option, but I got exactly what I paid for. Top-tier service, communication, and quality workmanship. Highly recommend.

Janice went above and beyond to assist me in understanding what is involved in the project and the cost breakdown. I have used JW on numerous occasions over the past 5 years. JW was initially recommended by the broker selling my home in VA to prepare it for listing -- it was an extensive list of repairs, painting and so forth and they did an excellent job on a tight schedule. Since then, I have used JW on several projects large and small at my new home, always prompt, always excellent. JW just completed a remodel of a "spa shower" to allow better handicap accessed, and also installed hand rails in the stairways. Excellent job. Very pleased. A shout out to Josh Metz, my estimator, and Cesar, the head technician, very complex job done perfectly.

JW Home Improvement did excellent work in resolving the leak coming out from my basement wall. I worried that the leak was due to a crack in the foundation. When the dry wall was stripped away, no cracks were found. Instead, the problem turned out to be sweaty water pipes and a broken seal around the dryer exhaust vent letting rainwater seep in. Cesar and Christian did excellent analysis and fixed the problem in two days. I was impressed by their professionalism and quality workmanship. Janice, at the office, was helpful in guiding me through the billing process. I highly recommend JW Home Repair and would use their services again.

The customer service provided by Janice and the craftsmen work from Thomas were simply the best home repair experience that I have ever had! Should I require any additional home repairs in the future, there is only one firm for me and that is JW Home Improvement- five star business with five star staff!

As a Capitol Hill homeowner, it is daunting to find someone to trust with home repair projects. Unfortunately, I had to act fast as my washing machine and dryer needed to be replaced quickly. The project presented several difficulties that come with an old home and a small space. So, I solicited several bids and added a variety of upkeep jobs (e.g. dry wall, painting, carpentry) that had piled up around my house.

Given my compressed time schedule, Jesse conducted a thorough walk-through of my home on the day before Christmas. It is rare to find a company that responsive, especially during the holidays. Jesse wanted to understand what I needed and how best his company could help. He documented the scope of the work and sent me a job estimate with pictures and clear pricing. There was no pressure or "hard sell." And JW even offered a Veteran's discount on their work. I felt completely comfortable proceeding with the project.

Angie (project manager) then found a time that worked for me to conduct the job. She communicated clearly and sent me several confirmations leading up to the home repair. She was responsive, polite, and understanding throughout the process. In fact, she was able to accommodate a last-minute change to the work schedule because my appliance installer (separate company) had delivery and service issues. I am not exaggerating; I called JW at 8 a.m. when their technician was due to arrive at 8:30 a.m. and Angie was able to reschedule with no questions asked and no additional fees whatsoever.

Finally, my experience with Alvaro C. (technician) was fantastic! An absolute gem of a man whose work ethic and craftsmanship exceeded all of my expectations. Alvaro began by reviewing the work order with me to ensure that there were no changes or additions. Per my request, he immediately concentrated on my highest priority job. He also made several recommendations on how to save time and reduce supply costs that demonstrated his honesty and commitment to the client. Alvaro was respectful, diligent. and delivered extremely high-quality work. And he communicated with me throughout the job so that I understood his progress and approach. JW is lucky to have a technician of his caliber and capability. I would "by-name" request him on any future jobs that I have - he was just that good!

At the end of the project, Alvaro asked me to inspect his work to ensure that I was satisfied. The jobs were completed exactly to task and looked better than new. Alvaro then cleaned up behind himself, leaving the job site spotless. He truly went above-and-beyond to make sure that I was satisfied.

TLDR: JW Home Improvement rocks! They have great people working for them and you should definitely hire them for home repair.

We had a punch list of items that needed attention for our office ranging from adding an electrical outlet, adding weather stripping to a door, and patching drywall. Everyone we encountered at JWHI from Bryannah in scheduling, Josh for the estimate, Janice at the office, and most of all Cesar who did all the work, were professional and courteous. Compliments to Cesar for quietly and quickly going through the punch list during our office's working hours and getting everything done spotlessly. Cesar displayed a great sense of understanding of each task and how to efficiently and economically tackle them. For example, he noticed we had left over wiring in our storage area and used it instead of buying more. We have decided that we will keep a list of items that need attention and call in JWHI when it is enough to meet the daily minimum. The pricing is not the lowest, but the responsiveness and quality of work are well worth it.

Unethical employees. I have called this company out twice to provide services at my mother's home in Rockville. Both time the 2 different employees have tried to convince my mother to cancel with the company THEY work for and to either hire them on the side or to use their personal company. I too am a company owner and I would hate to have trash like that working for me. JW needs to do a better job at vetting their people. This is straight up criminal behavior in my eye. It's scary and I will not be using this company again.

The team is amazing and the workmanship even better. Tomas walked us through every step and treated the rebuilding of our front porch steps as if it was an art piece. The results are wonderful. And whenever we had additional questions, Omar was quick to respond to our needs with courtesy. We are so glad we chose JW for our home repairs.

Handyman team made quick (and exacting) work of original list and pivoted to additional things in my list, much to my delight. Project coordinator updated paperwork and we got it done. I was lucky to have their time that day.
