Journey On RV Services

Tech knows his stuff. He got me out of a jam. But his service is over priced. BJ gave me his hourly rate, but my final invoice for the work came as sticker shock. RV repairs are many times an urgent situation, being on vacation or away from home. We all find to be at the mercy of the repair service. Now in hind sight I would recommend campers in need of service work to try and get an estimate for the complete job first. BJ did his job and fixed the problem and I thank you for that.

Punctual, well educated. Couldn't have asked for more polite and knowledgeable tech. Would definitely refer him, and will use him again.

BJ was referred to me by another tech. He was able to get to me in a reasonable time frame and got my solar issue taken care of quickly, and with a smile. I highly recommend him.

We were in a pinch as our slide on our Tiffin wouldn’t stay in. Not only did he respond but was helpful and happy to help us so we could get out in time for check out and rates were super reasonable

On May 18, 2025, I contacted rvhelp.com, because I was having trouble with my Nautilus (water) panel on my RV. It had a number of braided hoses that had begun to leak. I scheduled an appointment on May 21st with a mobile technician, BJ Miller of Rapid City, South Dakota. BJ Miller is the owner of Journey-On RV services located in Rapid City. BJ did an excellent job and was very polite and professional. His quality of work was top notch. The problem came in when we got the bill. BJ had told us that he purchased his plumbing supplies from supplyhouse.com. After we got the bill of $1358.51, he stated that the cost for each fitting was extremely expensive so that’s why the high price of the job. However, a few days later, while I was looking up some other parts on supplyhouse.com. I looked at the cost of the parts that he had put on our RV and the markup was astronomical. For example, he charged us $22.96 for a PEX crimp 1/2 inch swivel connector. On supplyhouse.com, these fittings sell for $2.22 each not $22.96 each, that’s a markup of over 1000%, that’s ridiculous! All the parts he used were marked up like this. I understand that you’re paying for the convenience of a mobile technician and that there’s going to be some markup but 1000%, that’s unacceptable! I confronted BJ Miller about this and after much haggling, he agreed to reduce our bill to $1,015.33 a refund of $343.18. Because of this incident, I must admit I will be hesitant to use rvhelp.com in the future knowing that this could happen again. I don’t mind paying a fair wage for good work, but after this situation I felt like I was taken advantage of because of our situation. It also felt like the only reason I got any money back was because I caught him red-handed and he had no other choice. I’m wondering how many other people has he, and other RVhelp tech’s, done this too. I have emails, receipts, and proof of everything that I’ve stated here.

Very knowledgeable young man, came out next day to diagnose the problem, fixed next day with a new older unit. Air conditioning never felt better.

10/10 service. Troubleshooting right over the phone. BJ is extremely knowledgeable and refreshingly honest. If in the area and you need RV service....start here.

BJ of Journey On RV Services did a fantastic job fixing a frayed slide cable. He got to work right away and answered all of our questions. My wife and I highly recomend BJ.

No one wants to contact emergency RV services when on the road but when I recently had concerning issues with the electrical system on my RV, on a Sunday, Father's Day no less, it was an incredible relief to be able to get BJ at Journey On RV Services. Came to the campground laid on Sunday, identified the issue, pulled a bad battery out and put a spare battery in. And then on Monday he arranged to swap the bad battery, which was still under warranty, and then came to the campground again to put the new battery in and take his loaner out. Service wasn't cheap as it was emergency service, but peace of mind never really is. Didn't allow the vacation to be interrupted, he took care of it all. Thanks brother!

BJ returned my call and came out quickly. He was able to diagnose, get the parts and come back to fix my gas leak and awning. He was knowledgeable and friendly. I would use him if in the area again. Thank you again BJ.

BJ had excellent communication, showed up when we expected him, and did good quality work. The rates were expensive, but we got this fixed, which was the most important.

We called BJ ahead of arriving in Rapid City. He was able to come out and look at our RV the next morning. He diagnosed and adjusted our slide topper on our full wall slide. No parts were needed! He even showed us how to adjust it in the future, if necessary. It was refreshing to find an RV repair person who really knows the ins and outs of slide toppers and awnings!

Bj was excellent. Came to the rv park same day, assessed the roof repair needed as well as a/c replacement. Returned in 2 days with everything necessary for the repair and completed it that day. Additionally, his communication was excellent

BJ came to fix a leak coming from our a/c. He was very thorough to find the cause of the leak as it was not an immediate visible issue. He was very thorough with his troubleshooting of the issue, provided the remedy, and worked with an eager pleasing attitude. BJ demonstrated knowledge and a work ethic of doing the job the only way- which is the right way. We highly recommended BJ to all rv people who have issues with their units. He is a rare shinning star.

BJ was able to make it out to our location the same day we called. He diagnosed and corrected our electrical issue (fried AC junction box) that was difficult to get to. A true pro who meticulously repaired the problem and cares about his work. Thanks!!!

Wonderful, fast service. Very knowledgeable and helpful. We called on a Saturday morning and got help right away. Our super slide wouldn’t come in and within 5 minutes he had us on our way.

Our tech was on time (this is very important to us). He let us know when he was coming via a text with a window of time of 15 minutes. He was courteous, knowledgeable and professional. He explained everything he was doing so we understood and had the right parts on hand. BJ thanks for the great job. We will be calling you again if we’re in a bind.

BJ let us know he was running on time and arrived when he said he would. The repair to our slide awning was done quickly and is now better than from factory. Would highly recommend him!

BJ delivered excellent customer service to us in Mount Rushmore shadow’s resort. The slide on our RV wouldn’t extend due to the gearbox being stripped. BJ replaced the gear box and readjusted the slide cables in a great timely manner with the help of his son thank you for fitting us into your busy schedule BJ.

BJ is very nice, was able to get to us same day as we called. Had slide issues and he made sure it was fixed and working properly. Would definitely recommend him to anyone with RV repair issues.

Josh did a wonderful job helping us with a broken fridge. They quickly troubleshot the problem and replaced the fridge the morning after we arrived. We only had 2 days in the Salt Lake City area and they put us on a priority and quickly had us back on the road. They even put all of our stuff from our fridge into their employee fridge while making the change. Cost was very reasonable as they didn't gouge us for parts or labor. All we came in contact with were very professional and personable. Highly recommend this company!

We are so grateful to BJ! He is the absolute best at what he does. My husband and I rented an RV to take a road trip vacation with our family of five to Yellowstone National Park and Custer State Park. One of the back interior tires blew on our way there, but the major problem was that the shredded tire ripped the cords that operated the motor to the slide-outs. After a nightmare of a 72 hours during which the tire got fixed, but nobody could figure out what to do about the slide-out motor situation and we were sent to various places and spent hours upon hours just waiting and waiting at trucks stops and gas stations while people came to try and resolve the issue, BJ came to the rescue and did what nobody else could. He was able to assess the issue and solve the problem. I literally cried tears of joy and gratitude when I saw the slide-outs working properly. On top of fixing our problem with his knowledge and skill set, BJ also was great with communication and interpersonal skills. He called and texted with updates and estimated arrival times, and he sent a picture of his smiling self in advance to let us know who to look for when he arrived. He immediately made us feel comfortable in his presence, and explained everything he was thinking and doing along the way during his assessment and resulting course of action. I cannot say enough good things about this professional and his company. HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Thank you, BJ! Absolutely incredible service from BJMiller. Slammed to the wall with service calls, BJ found a slot to fit us in. Temps here in Rapid City were 85’s and going up. Both AC units on our Motorhome were not working properly. He got them working and saved our vacation time and trip here in the beautiful section of South Dakota. Thank you BJ Miller.

He was so professional. He replaced my pump as asked. He also replumbed a section that needed it and removed a filter I decided I didn't want. He did a great job and was very pleasant and knowledgeable.

We had great service from Journey On RV Services. First off, they are available 24/7. Bj answered my text message after 9 PM and was on site with us the next morning to diagnose our a/c failure. Unfortunately we needed a replacement but Bj got it ordered immediately. He worked with our RV warranty service (no small chore in itself...I've dealt with them before) and got them to cover over half the bill. Bj is pleasant to talk to and competent on the job. He got us fixed up as quickly as possible. I highly recommend Journey On RV Services if you have problems in the Rapid City area.

BJ from Journey on RV service was amazing. Diagnosed the problems, and gave me options for fixing them. I appreciate the fact that he was informative as well as giving me options. BJ even found a mistake that another mobile RV repair service did not resolve. If I was in need of more repairs I would definitely call him again. Good help is not cheap and cheap help ain't good do it right the first time make the right move and call BJ at Journey on RV service. By the way I have never met a nicer person, service he delivered was impeccable.

The Dometic AC wasn’t working in my 2016 Vista Cruiser. Bj came out diagnosed the problem and fixed in less than an hour. Fast, friendly and efficient!!

BJ is the best. We called him yesterday our water heater was not working. He came today when he said he would. Sent us a text letting us know exactly when he would arrive and a picture of himself. My 12 volt rv refrigerator stopped cooling. I called several rv mobile repair businesses and was very disappointed in the service I was receiving until I reached Journey On. He answers his phone, and replies to text messages promptly. Very professional. The other companies don’t answer their phones and request a text. I sent a text to three different companies and only one answered, and I wasn’t confident in his knowledge of a 12 system. BJ with Journey On answered his phone when I call, answered my text later and was very confident he could fix my refrigerator. He arrived on time, went right to work and found the problem, which was in the electrical feed to my unit. I never would have known where to look. His prices are very reasonable and he is up front on the costs involved. I highly recommend Journey On RV Repair. BJ, the owner, is a nice guy too.
I had to call BJ out a second time for a wiring problem. I had a charging station quit working and a set of lights were blowing a fuse every time I turned them on. The problem was fixed within a hour. B J was on time and is very professional. It’s nice knowing there is a very qualified mechanic close by when I need one.

One year later, same camp ground, I was inspecting my RV and discovered a burnt wire on my refrigerator. I called Journey On and BJ came over the next day and replaced the wire with a heavier gage. Did have another problem. I originally called Journey On for a leveling jacks problem and we set up a date. But they started working the next day. I called BJ at Journey On to cancel and he was glad to hear it, but I brought up that I had a rear awning that has never worked right and since i bought the trailer. Since I had the appointment could he look at that. My RV is four years old and the awning never worked right. The manufacturer said I was on my own because it was out of warranty. After paying 3 other shops to fix it, they never could. It would roll out but only roll halfway in when closing. The other shops couldn’t figure it out. BJ arrived on time and checked the awning out. He knew what the problem was and fixed it within a hour. A great job. I only know BJ, Journey On RV from the work he has done on my RV. He is always very professional, a very nice guy and definitely knows every aspect of a RV, and his prices are very reasonable. I can truly say I would recommend Journey On RV for any issues you have with your RV, and we all know you will have issues. I need to add, BJ always answers his phone. If you do have to leave a message he will call you right back. It is nice having that kind of service.

BJ came promptly to access our air conditioner situation in our RV. He is very knowledgeable and offered us two options (to replace or rebuild). He lets you know a range of when he is coming, then let's you know his eta when he is on his way. He skillfully replaced our unit and explained everything and answered all of our questions. He seems very trustworthy and does exactly what he says he will do. We highly recommend him.

BJ is terrific. He completed both of our issues with no problem. And he recommended someone else for our other problem and even called the other service technician and set up a time for the work. He is great with communicating all the way thru the process. Confirming appt, checking in the day before and letting us know he was on his way. He arrived well within the time frame he quoted. We would recommend using him if you need something done in the Custer SD area.

We were relocating from Alaska to New York on military orders and had a tank come loose on our trailer. BJ came to the rescue and drove over an hour away at 11 o'clock to come to help. Fantastic service and we would highly recommend Journey to anyone.

Bj was great!! We had him out twice. The first visit was to diagnose a low LP stove flow and while here he replaced the water heater. The second visit was to replace the oven LP regulator. Everything was done clean and professional! I highly recommend BJ for your RV services!!
