Jessica & Chris took great care of me! All of the OSB sheets I needed for a roof install nearby were delivered for a flat rate of 10 bucks! Huge value! So grateful. I also purchased soffit vents which were reasonably priced and they helped me locate them in the inventory. Pleasant people and great service!

This is a very well ran and stocked up lumber and hardware store! The staff is always very friendly and take good care of myself and my team. It also feels great to support a local family owned business. The team has saved my butt several times on items we are missing or are short on various roofing related projects! I was visiting my son from out of town and needed to make a few repairs to his apartment. I needed a small 3/4" piece of wood about 4" wide by 8" long. I asked at the front counter if they had anything like that and was told no sorry. I asked if they had any scrap bins anywhere that I could look through. The gentleman behind the counter said sure and pointed me towards the back.

In the bin I didn't find anything but on the floor was a 3' long piece of 3/4" about 4" wide. Not only did they just give it to me they also cut it down to the 8" length I was looking for.

I asked if I could give them a few bucks for the time and the wood and was told no. Now how often do you run into service like that where they not only help but since it was going in the garbage anyway... no charge.

I’m stuck with paint I can’t use. I was sold outdoor paint with the promise it would be almost the same as indoor with a possibility of harsh order that goes away after it drys. After purchasing and doing research I realized it was going to be really bad to use that inside. Especially if you have young children which I have 2 young boys. There are harmful chemicals that are not meant to be in and inside space. Even after it drys. I called them and they won’t give me even a partial refund even a percentage towards my next paint purchase. Even though I was told it was ok by the guy at the store. Lesson learned I just won’t shop here anymore what a shame.

They are by far our favorite hardware store in town. They almost always have what we need, their staff are knowledgeable and able to help us with any questions we have, their prices are also often the best in town. They even gave my husband a few roof tiles and told him what else he needed to install them after a few blew off the roof in a bad storm. All around nice people with good prices to boot! They always remember my husband when he comes in too. Seriously great people with great prices.

Easy to find what you need, prices do tend to run a bit higher but they make it so easy I’m glad to pay.

Great lumber yard in Mountain Home, Idaho! Easy access to picking up hand-held walk-away as well as drive-up access to the big stiff that requires a truck! And if that's not enough, you can get a whole flat-bed of construction materials delivered to the work site! You need something for a weekend project or building onto or around the house! Very competitive prices too!!!

Nice staff an helpful, would be better if they had more supply of broder selection of items, like bigger supply stores have (all in one shop an stop store), not needing to go to other stores for selected products made that the store doesnt carry (like several brands).

Jim's is the best place to go! I always have tons of questions when I'm working on projects and the folks here always help me figure out what to do. They have an impressive selection, including paint supplies, gobs of building supply (obviously), some gardening tools, traeger, the lost goes on. I love that they will deliver my order to my door too when I get lumber!

Great service and help! They find out the answer and order what you need if they don’t have it. Little pricey, but worth it!

his with a good rating. The employees asked me what I need. I said I'm not sure. He rolled his eyes. I said that's why I was asking him. I felt like I was bothering him asking his opinion. I've lived in Mtn home for 35 years and only been in the store twice and been treated rudely both times.

Avg pricing that’s why it’s 4 star however they have a wide selection on items you could need for any house hold project!

Josh was a great help today. Saw me looking lost and came right over to help. Customer service was everything I needed.

We went in there looking for plumbing and electrical supplies they were very helpful we got most of the supplies we needed and they ordered the one part which will be here in 2 days that they did not carry in store they were very helpful good customer service.

Hand’s down, give your business to Jim’s Lumber. I moved here 4 months ago and needed supplies for a new outbuilding that I was putting up. I went to Carr’s True Value first because they are a bit closer to where I live but discovered that Carr’s has a significant problem with customer service. Every time I have gone there, and I’ve been there 11 times now, I have been completely ignored by the worker’s, even when they aren’t helping any other customers. They just ignore you at Carrs. I always have to track someone down for help. Jim’s Lumber is the polar opposite. The minute I step through the door at Jim’s I am greeted and offered help. “What can I help you find today.” The crew at Jim’s are really exceptional. They know their materials and are super helpful and friendly. This store feels lik a hometown store should feel. I needed 4x8 sheets of CDX cut to size and Jim’s did this for free. The other stores in town charge .50 cents per cut. Jim’s also delivers for free so I have been able to call the store up, order my lumber, paint, sheet rock, etc., specify cuts that I need and everything is delivered and off-loaded at my house at no charge to me. As a recent retiree who no longer has a truck, this has been a great experience. As long as they keep up their customer service, Jim’s will have my business from here on out. The crew there are friendly, relaxed, and exceptionally helpful. I am genuinely grateful that I found this store. They make you feel human.

A really great mom and pop lumber store. They treat everybody very friendly and they're very knowledgeable about their products. Prices are usually the best in town.
