They took my truck in 15 minutes before closing on a Friday. The mechanic worked late to replace the alternator on my truck and stayed until I could get back on the road. Much appreciated!

Called and ask for my truck to be checked for a weird noise, then just asked to quote me for what needed to be fixed. The shop went ahead and fixed it before telling me a quote on the work and charged me $1,000 for 1 single wheel bearing. Didn’t replace a hub, didn’t replace 2 wheel bearings; $1,000 for ONE wheel bearing and the work put into fixing it is outrageous.

Worst service I’ve ever had. Got an appointment and then it was an 11 week turn around on a six hour job. They never gave me any heads up that it would take that long and each week they would say “getting to it this week” To top it all off they drained my coolant and didn’t refill it and I didn’t think to check the fluids after bringing it to a mechanic. So beware

Brian, John, and everyone else I met at the shop were awesome. Brian is a super clear communicator and took time to explain my issue and my various options to addressing it. He got me in faster than anybody else could and made the process very easy for me. He even connected me with some of his friends in town for some local outdoor things I'm looking to do (climbing, etc).

I wouldn't hesitate to use this shop if I ever find myself in Jackson again with car troubles.

I was in town for a few days when my clutch started making a whistling sound. Despite being busy, someone from the shop took my car for a quick drive and talked with me to make sure it was safe to drive back to Wisconsin. He was patient and kind and took the time to explain what it most likely was. Greatly appreciated it and I was able to get home safely and without worry.

Like an idiot I had let my rear brakes wear out beyond any reasonable repair. Luckily for me, Dana expertly guided me through the process and fixed the brakes very timely. Not cheap, but when did you get excellent workmanship cheap?

While in the Tetons, my car starting making unwanted noises. Brian was immediately helpful and agreed to help me even though we didn’t have an appointment. He diagnosed and fixed my car within one business day which was extremely helpful as we were set to leave that day. They were honest and made a very stressful situation as easy as possible. I can’t thank them enough for their help and highly recommend them!

I called Brian less than an hour before closing with a problem, and he and the whole team were eager to help me as soon as I arrived. I pulled into the shop with parts of my car literally being held together with rubber bands, and left feeling like the whole thing had a facelift (pictures attached below). This was an easy going group that worked quickly and efficiently, and had me out of there within half an hour. I won't be taking my car anywhere else!

These guys are incredible!!! I needed last minute CV axles replaced before leaving Jackson for the season, and they were incredibly honest and quick to make it happen. Really cool people who communicated extremely well and consistently, they were also very honest about what repairs I actually needed done and save me a lot of money. I would recommend them to anyone!!! Hard to find a mechanic you can trust in small mountain towns… These are your guys.

Stopped by while traveling through Jackson had a diesel leakage on my Mercedes SUV. Bryan really helped me out and replaced the clamp on a hose that was leaking fuel really appreciate it.

This place is excellent! After the wheel fell off my Tundra driving through Teton pass, they dropped everything to get me back on the road in less than two days and even found me a great deal on used rims and tires.

Fast, friendly, worked with us when we were traveling and no place to stay while they worked on our RV.

Had an issue with our battery boiling over. While they were short staffed and under the pump busy, both the boss and other younger mechanic really helped out by having a look at giving us advice on what we should do, unfortunately didn’t catch their names but definitely would trust this shop as a main mechanic. The team there was awesome in a quick response, flexible schedule, and over all great support to vacationing family in Jackson, Wyoming. Appreciate the support to our family when our car engine light came on and they did an immediate diagnostic on it.

I had a question about a potential safety issue, and even though they were busy, they took the time to come outside with me and answer all my questions. Very kind people. If I’m ever back in town and need a mechanic, this place will be my first call.

Came from Canada and was down camping at the Grand Tetons and my front brake went on my car and no other mechanic shop in Jackson would take my car in and then I called Roy’s Auto Repair and he took my car in and got it fixed no problem, same day. Good service and good people.

My daughter took her truck in to have the oil pressure sensor replaced and to have her door looked at because it wasn’t opening. They kept the vehicle for a couple of days. When she talked to them she told them not to do anything until they gave her a price to fix it. They never called and when she picked it up they had supposed replaced the door lever and told her she had an oil leak and added 3 quarts of oil. She had checked the oil before going in and it was not low. There is no oil problem the sensor needs to be replaced. They did not replace it. They charged her $500 which she never authorized tand after getting the truck back the oil pressure sensor was still messed up and the door still will not open. My husband called them and the guy wouldn’t let him get a word in. He talked over everything my husband tried to point out. My daughter called and told them nothing was fixed and she wanted her money back. The guy yelled at her and told her No then hung up on her. I would give this place less than 1 star if possible!!!!

They didn’t ask permission on fixing anything after stated a few times to let me know. Sure enough was charged hundreds of dollars. Went back to see if I could get my money back cause it was still broken and they did nothing. Im living at a Ranch which they said they should lose business because it’s happened to 2 other wranglers. Do not recommend unless money and service doesn’t matter.

Great towing service. I got a tow through AAA from the driver Tyler. He was so professional and efficient. My car broke down on 86 when I was out of cell service. I walked to get service and made the call to get a tow and Tyler called me as soon as possible, and even picked up the car himself even though I wasn’t with the vehicle. He was communicative and called again once he had cell service again and picked me and my friend up from the gas station a mile up the road and took us to the mechanic. Really helpful and FAST service (about one hour from the time I called to when I was at the mechanic). I would recommend this towing service.

Roy saved my bacon. My a/c quits on Friday at 3pm and I called Roy to see if he could take a look. He does, is professional and kind and gets it done at 520pm. I truly appreciates a person who helps someone in a pinch.

Wouldn’t even give it one star if I could. Roy was extremely rude on the phone, over exaggerated the issue, and his staff told us they ordered parts when they did not. We’re currently getting the car out of their shop because Roy refused to give us details, a schedule, nothing. If you go here, make sure you have the time for your car to sit and don’t believe a word they quote you.

Chuck was the name of the no-nonsense mechanic who bailed us out of a very difficult situation. He replaced our alternator in a morning when no one else in town could get to us. Great repair, excellent service, fair price. We highly recommend Roy's Auto Repair

I had an emergency where my truck broke a rear leaf spring shackle. I was able to take the part off my vehicle and get it welded back together. I brought it to Roy's to see if I could borrow a couple tools to get it done myself. Instead, Roy himself helped me and in ten minutes, we had things up and going again. His shop is a huge blessing.

I was in the area for extended time and started having issues with a steering gear I just had replaced elsewhere. Roy took time out of his very busy day to quickly diagnose it, said he could fix it in a few days if I wanted, but he advised me to keep driving it as he thought there wouldn't be an issue. Sure enough, a few weeks later and it was still going and I was able to take it back to the original mechanic. This would have been a several thousand dollar job that he turned away because it was in my best interest, if that's not an honest guy I don't know what is.

While staying locally I needed some work done. My issue was taken care of quickly and charges are reasonable. Would definitely return here for work in the future.

Roy is not just an expert at what he does, but he also cares about every one of his clients and their vehicles. He goes out of his way to make sure that all details are covered and that the job is completed with the utmost thoroughness.

Roy will always take the time to look at your car for free before booking an appointment. He’s very honest. This is why we go to Roy’s. They do great work, quick and efficient.

I've used Roy's before and they were fine. Today was by far the worst, most unprofessional exchange I have ever been a part of. I dropped my car before the shop opened this morning so I could be on time for work. We had discussed last week and yesterday the work that needed to be done. Replace my thermostat so my heater works, also discussed which of my two thermostats needed the replacement. I called after work around 330pm to see if it was finished, they hadn't even looked at it. I spoke with Roy and he completely blew up at me, I've never experienced such absolute disregard for accountability. I will NEVER return or refer friends again. This is the first time I've ever written a review about a business. I am totally appalled at his aggressive response to something he completely dropped the ball on.

Can’t say enough good things about this place. We needed the front brakes changed and were in a time crunch as we were on vacation and heading back out of town. They were very accommodating and able to squeeze us in. Definitely recommend!!

Traveling cross country and had an emergency. Based on Google reviews, this seemed to be the place to go. Hours aren't posted anywhere, so I show up at 7am just to be sure they have time to look at my car whenever they open. Whoever showed up was clearly upset that I was already waiting before he arrived. "I'm not even in the door yet, what do you need?" No need to be rude to your potential customers when they can't possibly know your hours. I'm sure they would have done a good job on my car, but what terrible customer service.

This place is an oasis straight from above the clouds. My family and I are on a cross country trek (got tested before leaving, masked and not socializing) and we had an issue with our class B motor home. We were staying in southern Montana heading to Wyoming. We knew no one and had no idea what to do. We were driving to outside Jackson and I called Roy’s. I had no idea that auto repair places like this still exist. What do I mean.... people that are true professionals, who care about the work they do and want to help. I am actually a little overwhelmed by how amazing this place has been. Dana, who took my call and was there when I arrived, has been nothing short of amazing. My family and I left our Roadtrek with them and went around the corner to a local grocers (awesome food and fantastic selection). I walked back a couple minutes ago to grab something out of our ride and he proceeded to tell me how good things looked and allayed all my fears. He could have told me for anything. He could charge me whatever he wants. Instead he told me not to worry and that we were looking good. This is THE place that we all need to support. Thank you Roys (shoutout to Dana) for caring and helping. Y’all rock!

Roy and Chuck are amazing. I will never take my vehicle anywhere else. They are the most honest mechanics and have become great friends over the years. They will always make sure you are safe on the road and never overcharge.

My 2008 Chevrolet suburban needed an emergency wheel bearing installation and on minutes notice Roy was kind enough to fit it in.
People in this part of the country are kind and Roy is a prime example.

Our brakes went out on the way to a week long camping trip and these guys did everything in their power to get us safe and on the road again asap. My truck wouldn't start while I was passing through on a road trip. The next morning I called Roy and he said he could take a look at it. He had me running and ready to go with a new starter before 3 PM that day! Good quality auto shop

The guys at Roy's were so helpful! On our way into town we noticed a funky smell coming from our truck and were worried about continuing our trip without getting it checked out. Roy got us in right away, and back on the road within a couple hours. We thought our plans of visiting Yellowstone were going to be all messed up but because of Roy we made it to the park the same day! He checked out the truck, told us it was a small oil leak that we could get fixed when we get home. Sent us off with an extra quart of oil for the road just in case. Didn't charge us a dime. Thank you so much!

PS some reviews mention him being rude on the phone - he's not. He is straightforward and fair, which is much appreciated!

We were traveling in our van for 2 weeks and our “Check Engine” light came on and we were concerned. They diagnosed it and didn’t even make us pay for the service. Very friendly and helpful service that we appreciated! Thank you!

Roy fit us into his already packed schedule to replace the front rotors on our van. We got them a little toasty coming down the pass and they warped. He not only got it done by noon but he called when he said he would! Not enough mechanics communicate as well as him. In addition to getting us on our way he gave us a good natured hard time about not riding the brakes down the pass and told us to gear down, not brake. Age old advice that we knew but didn't follow. Visiting the parks and our van developed a serious oil leak. Dropped it off with Roy and he was able to diagnose and fix within 48 hours. Great turnaround, and a good price. We were able to enjoy our vacation and get back home on schedule. Awesome job guys.

Traveling from Texas, and two thousand miles into our great family vacation in the Grand Tetons, my 2000 Land Cruiser alternator light came on 1/4 of the way around the great Yellowstone National Park loop. I preserved the battery, made it back to the Jackson Lake Lodge where we were staying, and began the process of thinking (actually worrying) how to get the alternator replaced (the battery was month old so I knew 98% that it was not the issue). I am a "do it yourself" vehicle owner and had the tools with me but I simply did not want to do the work on vacation. I also did not know if the alternator was available. After searching Yelp & Google reviews I landed on Roy's Auto Repair in Jackson WY.

I called Roy early the next morning and he immediately showed empathy for my situation (on vacation and vehicle won't work). He said he was overloaded with work but volunteered that if I got the car in by 10AM, he would have it back at the end of the day. He kept his promise and I was out by 5pm same day with everything working even after they had to navigate a stripped out alternator bolt (not their fault). The price I was charged was totally fair. We had never spoken (I'd never asked) about what the cost would be (which is not like me) and I was braced for a potential shocker but it never came. I just love candor and honesty.

If you are like me and have a healthy fear of being "taken" by someone (think dealerships and shysters), then use my experience for what it is worth to decide who to take your vehicle repair to when you are in the Jackson Hole area and having issues.

While driving out to Jackson for a ski trip, my vehicle's engine developed a problem with the check engine light coming on. I had arrived in Jackson on a weekend, so on Monday morning I called Roy. He got me in Tuesday morning. By Tuesday afternoon he had completed the repair and at a fair price. Thanks Roy!

We had our check engine light come on. We are from out of town and after asking around had this shop recommended to us. They did a quick scan to find out the problem, which was not serious. He didn’t charge us anything! Very generous! This guy is good hearted and honest.

Roy is the most trustworthy and reputable mechanic in town, very honest does good work and is friendly. Hes done engine and transmission work on my vehicles and has always been fair on the price and done great work.
