Friday June 30th, after a week of rain & extreme hot weather, Josh Verity, Project Manager & crew of 6 from Ecuador came to remove old roof (with some double shingles) and install a new roof with solar fan. They did a fantastic job & I especially want to praise Josh for helping me make some on site decisions, and making the whole process proceed smoothly. Great job from start to finish from Jason Lewis’s
first visit and drone photographs, to selecting best shingles for the job. Seeing some actual examples of the colors at the office helped, and it was a pleasure working with Jill and Christine. I highly recommend the whole team.

Can't recommend this place enough. We had a 25 year old roof that probably went a year or two too long. Jade was fantastic during the inspection - pictures for everything along with his thoughts on the status of the roof. (Obviously it was time to get a new one - we had assumed that.) Robert was our project manager and almost OVER communicated. Between pictures of the progress, concerned areas once they stripped the roof, and timely updates when we had bad weather - the man was friendly, helpful, answered any questions we had, and insisted I call with any questions ever. They even went to help clear out some gutters and re-align our leaf guard system during the work progress. Seriously, this place is all its cracked up to be.

Full disclosure, J Carnes was our first and only quote. Considering the other comments, the ratings, and their communication style we were confident from start to finish.

J Carnes and Son Roofing -- Professional and excellent communication. Appreciated the 1 day turn around, and workers were insured and also professional. Sales person was low pressure / no pressure information oriented and timely. Site Manager for the job was great. Let me know what to expect and everyone showed up on time. They did make their job a bit harder to avoid crushing or damaging any of my wife's plants. She was happy.

My old roof was in serious need of replacement as many of the shingles were missing. The whole process with J. carnes was a pleasure from start to finish. I appreciated the professional approach to both myself and the job at hand. Having a drone take pics of both before and after gave me as the homeowner a unique perspective on both the job before and after completion. Communication throughout the project was great and all work was carried out in an efficient and professional manner. I went with J Carnes because they are very prepared and have everything covered from a port-o-san and their own dumpster, to plywood sheets for shrub/plant protection and anything that may come up in a roofing job without having to take time away from the job. They were able to work me into the schedule within 2 weeks being early spring to accommodate our schedule. Being early April, they worked for 12 hours so the forecasted rain for the next day would not be a problem and it wasn't as everything was water tight. They were very particular, conscientious and left the place spotless. You can tell this is all they do and they do it very well! Very pleased.

I woke up on a Saturday morning to find several shingles scattered around my property. I quickly inspected my rear roof and found a huge patch of missing shingles. I called ten roofing companies in the area. I received call back from three and only one answered the initial call, Caron Roofing and Construction. Justin was already busy with other weekend work, but made time for my call and sensed the urgency of my situation. He offered help with tarping or replacement. We agreed replacement made the most sense and scheduled the work for Monday! The crew of fifteen should up and made short work of my job. They were very carefull with the demo and clean up! I was very impressed with their skill and manner in which they worked as a team with everyone doing their part. They completed the work in one day and the roof looks great! I was so relived the work was completed and even more satisfied knowing the high quality shingles were used at a very fair rate. Much better than the other roofers offered!

We just had our roof done by J. Carnes & Son Roofing and it was by far the best construction experience we’ve ever had. It is comparable to white glove service, extremely professional and prompt. They not only got the work done in 1 day but showed up exactly what time they said, even had the dumpster gone the next day, very prompt. Said they would be starting at 730am and did just that, down to the minute. You’re connected throughout the construction with pictures of the progress. You'd never know we had our roof done by looking at the ground, not one piece of material left behind.

J. Carnes&Sons With Johnatan’s bidding of the job and his complete supervision (always on site) did an outstanding job with my 40x60 barn reroof which required three layers of shingles stripping and 1/2 inch plywood over lay of the whole roof with new GAF shingles ! They also replaced the soffits and rake boards which Manie and his crew did an outstanding job with. Manie and his crew know how to work hard and efficiently! over all excellent experience which was completed in two days. They are recommended without reservations.

Our experience with J. Carnes & Son Roofing was a delight! Considering the expense and level of disturbance re-roofing necessitates, we were relieved to have had this experience.
The Bid Process - They quickly responded to my call for a bid, took drone pictures, walked the premises, inspected the attic to investigate a potential roofing problem and responded promptly with a very competitive bid. They provided us with a package of materials compiled to answer all our questions and offered ancillary services such as registering our roof with the manufacturers to ensure we received their warrantee as well as that which J. Carnes provides. I was pleased to be offered a 10% reduction in cost for cash payment. It felt like an honest offer to help us by offering a win/win break.
Scheduling & Waiting for our actual Re-Roofing Job - they provided us with regular updates (both email and text) as they navigated the inevitable weather-related delays. Additionally, they communicated preparatory steps we should take. (Where to put our cars, communicating with the neighbors, checking town hall for permitting issues, etc.) When I had opportunity to talk with anyone from their office, they were cheerful and helpful.
3. Re-Roofing - Loud, busy, diligent. In 1+ day, they had stripped our fairly large roof & small shed, re-shingled both and cleaned up the whole mess. The workers were polite and respectful. The project manager was obliging and knowledgeable.
4. Follow-up. J. Carnes did their own inspection to ensure the job was done right. Once again, they took photographs and made sure we were completely happy.
It was truly a great experience. I would recommend them to anyone needing a new roof!

This was the most professional experience that I have ever had with a contractor. From the office staff to the on-site supervisors to the crew of installers, everything that they did was done to perfection. The area around the house after the installation was completely free of any debris; the roof was beautiful and the entire crew was professional in every aspect of their work. The price for removing the old roof and installing the new one was very reasonable, and paying the entire balance by check saved 10% of the total cost. I would recommend J.Carnes & Son to any homeowner who is wants the job done right and at a reasonable price. They are superb.

We have a 5 bdrm home with an attached barn, J. Carnes crew arrived about 7:30, and had the whole house and barn stripped and ready for shingles at about 10:30. The whole job from start to picking up the last bit of discarded shingles was done and packed up by 6:00. We are extremely satisfied with the whole experience. We definitely would recommend.

We have had an amazing experience working with J. Carnes & Son Roofing. Unfortunately for us what started as a gutter replacement after one of our gutters fell off turned into a much larger job at our home, having to replace our 20+ year old roof. The team was extremely professional in both diagnosing the actual problem we were having as well as explaining the options to solve it. They visited our home several different times and took numerous photos and videos to explain the state of our roof, even showing us holes in certain parts due to wear and tear over the years. It became clear that replacing the roof was more cost effective, and a more enduring solution, than the 5+ different areas that were quickly deteriorating (or had already deteriorated).

As someone with limited knowledge of roofing and gutters, their no pressure approach to presenting solutions was truly appreciated. They clearly articulated the problem we had and the different courses of action we had to solve it. They did a phenomenal repair job to a badly botched Skylight replacement from an Angi contractor (who abandoned the repair to make it right).
Right from the first call Jill was really responsive and quickly got their Estimator Jason to assess the situation. They were able to move pretty quickly to fit my timeline and sent an installer team ( the Raimondo Crew - 5 wonderful installers). That showed me the issues. I was amazed at these young mens ability and their in sync team work to efficiently correctly secure the skylights, put water/ice membrane ( that was never installed completely) flashing the windows correctly and replacing with new shingles. This team of installers had in sync team work like I've not seen before. They were friendly and extremely professional leaving the job buttoned up nicely. I will post pics of before and after. The existing shingles were discontinued and presented a minor cosmetic issue that was unavoidable but it was now properly repaired.

The Project Manager did a thorough visit before giving an estimate, and communication from that moment on was clear and direct. Last month Jade De Jong came out to our house to give us a quote on a new roof. We had already recieved a few prior to his visit and had nearly decided on one of those. As Jade walked around our home inspecting the conditions of things I became very impressed by his knowledge, and in what needed to be done. Specifically how the process would unfold from beginning to end. Jade wanted to take a look in our attic and discovered that our three bathroom exhaust fans were improperly vented, and showed me how they would correct the issue. It was at this point I knew we'd be going with J Carnes and Son.
From beginning to end the team worked with such care in not disturbing anything around the house. The deck, the walkway the shrubs, even the bird feeders were taken down and put back up perfectly. Everyone was so professional and thorough and their clean up was very impressive!! And our roof is gorgeous!
Throughout the whole process Jade was always just a text away, if we had any questions or concerns. Definitely an A+ as for communication as well. Without reservation we would recommend J Carnes and Son to replace your roof! We could not be happier!

J. Carnes & Son Roofing is one of the best companies I've ever worked with on any project. When I contacted them for an estimate they immediately set up an appointment. Their quote was very reasonable. They kept us updated on the project via email and text from start to finish. Jade, our project manager checked in on a regular basis to make sure we were informed and satisfied with their service. Once the project started, supervisors stopped by every couple of hours to check on progress, the wellness of the crew and answer any questions we had. Cleanup was first rate and their dumpster was picked up within 2 hours of completion. I highly J. Carnes & Son roofing.

Not happy and they don’t do anything about it. They take it personal instead of fixing the leaks and problems they created. Other smaller issues.. they take all extra product you pay for, don’t clean up properly (leaving nails, staples, trash all over the place. Take apart rock wall to use as a weight for their tarps and don’t put back. Nails left in driveway.), ripped up flowers by removing a fence that didn’t need to be removed, stole our tarp, charged extra without telling us until the end, most expensive quote we got, vents put in the wrong spot, etc. I was not happy with this company at all!! My house was freshly painted and now I have to not only repaint but I have to replace Sheetrock because they created leaks we never had before. I’m not looking forward to working with them for the length of the warranty. Pro price without pro experience. Horrible customer service skills.

We carefully interviewed eight roofing companies and although many had the credentials and experience we were looking for, after we met with J. Carnes & Son Roofing, it was easy to make our final decision. We met with Neil Anastas who provided detailed information, answered all of our questions and gave us options for upgrades. The pricing was in-line with other quotes but we felt most comfortable with J. Carnes after visiting their storefront and learning about the GAF product line from Neil. The installation itself went flawlessly - the roofers were diligent and hard-working and managed a full installation, including new roof skylights all in one day! We were impressed at how they were careful with our yard and plantings and how well they cleaned up during and after the installation. From office staff to sales to construction, all the employees were terrific! Julie Carnes came out to check on progress and to make sure that we were pleased with everything on the install day and she returned the following day to ensure that we were happy with everything! It was a seamless process. You don't need to do anything really. They send videos and will answer any questions before and during. We had some mold issues due to the bathroom vents not being connected to the outside but just blowing into the attic space. They were able to mitigate almost all of it without having to order more materials. Ken was here to explain everything that they found and was not part of the scope of work. Expectations were managed very well by them. I highly recommend them!

Dumpster and roofers arrived at 7:45AM as scheduled. Job was completed at 12:25 PM. I observed the complete job and was impressed by the teamwork of all the team members. The supervisor was very helpful with questions and concerns I had. Roof looks great and all construction debris was removed. When Neil quoted the job, he checked the underside of the plywood in our attic and found some plywood needed replacement, minimizing any surprises that might occur. Would definitely recommend you check them out when looking for a roofing company.

I coordinated a roof/skylight replacement for my father-in-law’s home on Seabrook Beach. I got (7) estimates(mostly local to Seabrook) for the project. I picked J.Carnes & Son Roofing after reviewing all the estimates for pricing and thoroughness. Neil A. provided the estimate and was excellent with his technical awareness and from what I perceived as his honesty. Neil was the most thorough of all the estimators going into the attic crawlspace and doing a fly-by with a drone to examine the roof. He provided me with the most confidence that the job would be done as estimated with no surprises during the actual replacement. There were no “salesman” comments to up the price or give me something I didn’t need. After narrowing the group to three competitively priced roofers (Roofing King, 2-Penn & Carnes) I selected Carnes because of the thoroughness of Neil and Carnes is a Master Elite roofer per GAF installer guidelines and review on the BBB website. When we made the deposit, the staff in the office were super friendly and very pleasant to work with, there were no hassles during the billing process. I was kept up to date via their client portal and everything went down per their plan and on schedule, in addition they provided me with whatever information I needed for the veteran GAF roof rebate after the project. The replacement was done in one day with no surprises and the crew seemed to do a great job cleaning up...hopefully they got all the flying nails. I would recommend J.Carnes without hesitation.

We have had some bad experiences with contractors in the past, so it was important to my wife and I to find a company that we trusted to do the work. We had 5 different companies quote our roofing project, and we looked at everything from asphalt to metal roofs.

J.Carnes did the most thorough walk through before providing a quote. When it came to deciding on colors and options, they were very patient, and walked us through each step, sharing pictures of other jobs and what we could expect.

The day of our project went of without a hitch. The crews showed up on time and got straight to work removing the old roof. The Project Manager checked in with me several times during the day to make sure we were happy, and to provide an update on the job status. When they left, my yard was cleaner than before they started work!

We recently had the roof replaced on our house in Eliot, ME. J. Carnes roofing did an excellent job. From first contact and initial appraisal through the completion of the project the people at J. Carnes were excellent. They kept us well informed throughout the process. They completed the project in one day as promised. The work crew was extremely hard working and respectful of our property. The new roof came out great and my yard was pretty much spotless when they finished. The owner, J. Carnes, his wife and his son came by late in the day to make sure that we were happy with the progress, nice touch. Our project manager, Neil was very attentive throughout and followed up before sending the final invoice to make sure we were satisfied. The office staff was very friendly and helpful. All in all a great customer experience.

The team showed up on time and finished our roof and gutter installation same day. They were very kind and respectful. They were also willing to come back out the very next day to add some additional length to one of the gutter downspouts at my request. Outstanding work! A crew arrived to set up one morning and a dumpster arrived shortly after. Crew was fast, clean and efficient. Shortly after the job was complete, the property was clean and the dumpster was gone. Another crew installed new gutters the next day. Project managers kept us informed from the start of the process through completion, providing written documentation and answered all of our questions quickly and efficiently. 5 Star Work All The Way!
