Just bought my Jeep from Hirning. I cannot say enough good things about Adrian, the salesman I worked with. The only reason this review is a 3 star is due to my experience working with the finance department.

I live a couple hours away and called the weekend before. I spoke with Adrian and he was able to answer all my questions and even went outside to physically verify if a feature was there I wanted. He sent a picture over and then scheduled me a test drive.

I went up on Monday and the car was ready for me when we agreed. We test drove it and Adrian was able to answer all my additional questions. We then sat down and talked numbers. When we agreed on a number I was sent to the financing department. Adrian was personable, friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to work with.

In financing I met with Brett. This was my first time buying a car from a dealer and working with Brett made me want it to be my last. He tried to bully me into financing with their bank, saying it would be easy to finance, walk home with the car today, and refinance with my bank in a few days. He was very pushy. When I called my bank and asked about this, they said it would take at least a month for this to be possible due to title processing. When I went back to Brett he continued to be condescending and abrasive. Adrian ended up saving that fiasco and volunteered to drive the car down to my home and deliver it in a couple days after I had the check from my bank. After this was agreed on, Brett told me the taxes had been figured out wrong and my total was going to be more than I had agreed on. Once again Adrian was a stand up guy, covered the difference, and made sure that I got the price we agreed on. Nonetheless just working with Brett made me almost walk away a few times and tainted the experience.

Overall Adrian was one of the best salesmen I have ever met. He was not pushy, he was honest and open and wanted to get me in a car that would be good for me. He stepped up when most salespeople wouldn’t. I would 100% recommend buying your car with Adrian.

I brought my truck into the shop after limping into town. I left keys and instruction in the night drop and when I called the next afternoon, they could not find my truck. I live 50 miles away and had to have a relative come in to verify that it was indeed there. After spending over $1000 on a sensor repair (as well as an additional control panel issue), the day after I got the truck back, another sensor light came on. I'm being told by Hirning it is likely not something they originally missed, although the invoice says they ran a diagnostic on that system. My options are to return the truck for further repair at my cost to a shop 50 miles away, or start all over, again at my own expense. Not happy with the outcome. No reason to travel there for service.

***Update: After posting this, Hirning contacted me and although I had to pay for another repair, they were very accommodating in getting it done. They sent a driver to get my vehicle and even left me a full tank of gas.

They were friendly and courteous. We had an electrical problem. We left our GMC 3500 there overnight and it was fixed the next afternoon. An electrical wire had been pulled apart. They were fast and fixed the problem. Very clean Dealership and the bathrooms are also very clean. Wheelchair accessible. Have bought our vehicles last 4 times from them. I highly recommend them.

What an outstanding experience! Jeremy, our new friend (salesman), was the best! He was extremely knowledgeable on all of the vehicles we test drove. He understood the mechanics and also answered all of our computer tech questions. If we asked a question that he was unsure about, he immediately researched the answer while we were driving. Best of all he was not pushy at all! He worked hard to get us the best price possible and worked with us on our financing. We have referred him to our whole family and we are definitely going back! We couldn’t have had a better experience!

I drove 5 hours round trip to this dealership to buy my brand new GMC, because of all the dealerships I called across the country Hirning is the one that most made me feel like they wanted to earn my business. They also gave me the best deal, countrywide, and I contacted a lot of dealerships. From beginning to end, the process was fantastic. The Hirnan team were all fantastic, personable, and made the vehicle buying process as enjoyable as can be. 5 out of 5 stars.

They’ll say “Well you bought a used car” and yet they’ll tell you at time of sale “This is a great car, our mechanics did a 20 point check on the vehicle”. Less the 10 months owning our car, our AC compressor, brake pump and both our back shocks had gone out. They also mentioned we had a leaky radiator. We took it in for I think 2 oil changes and they said nothing about any of this. $3200 in repairs. Never at the time of purchase had they said there were mechanical issue. We didn’t ever take it off road or abused it; my wife had used it to run the kids around. So I’m calling incompetence on the mechanics or management or both. Spoke with the manager about these issues and he was SURPRISED to hear they had covered a brake pump under warranty, admitting to me that even new vehicles might not get covered under warranty. Hilarious, yet at least offered $1000 off but was unwilling to admit any fault on the dealerships part. Wouldn’t recommended shopping here, they’ll mislead you.

We were driving home and I’ve been looking for a newer used Toyota Sienna. Hirning had a 2019. We took a chance to stop in and were helped by Jeremy. I had the most wonderful, easy and enjoyable buying experience here with Jeremy’s help. No pressure to buy which I prefer. Since out of state check couldn’t be accepted and our bank isn’t represented in Pocatello we had to buy the van via a loan even though we had the money to pay for it outright. That took longer for the transaction but I was able to drive it home to MT the same afternoon. Jeremy even arranged for a replacement windshield wiper cowl trim to be mailed to me after I drove home and discovered it was missing. Excellent service, highly recommended this dealer & Jeremy. And we would definitely visit them again in the future. Thank you Jeremy!

I purchased a truck from them about a month ago and the first time I had it in the rain the new windshield they put in leaked. I brought it in and explained my situation to Adrian. He was super helpful and set me up with the service department to get it fixed. My 2023 Cadillac needed a part replaced under warranty, but unfortunately the nearest Cadillac dealer is in Idaho Falls. I inquired at Hirning GMC about the possibility of bringing my vehicle to them instead. I explained my situation to service advisor Chris and asked if they would help. Chris proceeded to order my part that same day and got me in for an install a few days later! I highly recommend Hirning service and parts department!

Experience while purchasing the vehicle was fine, it’s afterwords that we found out this is a shady establishment.

They said the vehicle was GMC certified, they marked that the on-star was working on the GMC certification paperwork. It was not, noticed it was not there but I came from Boise and didn’t have the time to wait for them to fix something they said wasn’t broken and that they had claimed they already tested. The promise over the phone was that we would be in and out of the dealership in an hour. On Star had to be completely replaced in these new vehicles if the on star does not work, it will throw a check engine light about 50% of the time. They obviously don’t do the full GMC certification check on their vehicles.

Their financing department is a joke. I live in Boise and wanted financing through my personal bank, they weren’t thrilled about this. Asked them to send a purchase order over. They did their numbers wrong with the trade in and when we got there they told us the price was $4K more than the purchase order they sent to the bank? What? Questioned this, they came back and said oh sorry….then came back with the correct numbers.

Noticed the old vehicle still requiring payments a month later…what? instead of actually giving me what they promised for the trade in, I’m still responsible for the amount left with my bank. My bad for not paying closer attention to the numbers and trusting their word. Protect yourself….stay away from Hirning.

Adrian was completely tuned in, and a great listener. He showed me a car (Jeep) and I bought it. A++ in customer service from a lady that used to teach "How to Deliver Great Customer Service" .

Very cordial when I arrived and got the car right in for service. I was a little disappointed that when the car was done that no discussion was offered on the performance of the service. Status of tire pressure ( tires were rotated but when I did a status on pressure they were all different), air filter cleanliness, etc. the car wasn’t washed because the outside temperature was 31 degrees but with the Cilajet coating I thought some inspection of the exterior would have been done to note any potential issues. And to top it all off I had a 12” crack in the windshield that was not there when the car was taken in for service. Granted, it may have been from an unknown rock chip and the warm temperatures of the service bay but since no windows were washed I had to find it myself when I was leaving the dealership. No vacuuming of the interior….if it wasn’t a free service I could have taken it to Walmart and received better service.
And I have 2 or 3 additional services included in the purchase of this new car with only 5,000 miles on it….

If you want a non pressuring buying experience, this is the place to go!! Buying a vehicle can be overwhelming when at the wrong dealer. I was just a walk in customer inquiring and was pleasantly greeted then introduced to my sales representative Bryron, a non pressure salesman. Test drove the AT4X, went over features, and ran some numbers. Brad explained all my financing questions and trade value in detail, giving me peace of mind I wasn’t being “taken”. At the end of the day, I have zero buyer’s remorse and am excited about my new AT4X. Thank you all involved again and as soon as Amanda’s lease is up on her Jeep, we will be back!!

Thr service department was closed, but the lady working in the main office came out to check on us and gave us water and offered us a place in the air conditioning to sit. Update 8/2/24- We are very grateful that Zane worked on our truck. He took the time to go on a test ride to hear the sound and was able to finally correct it after over a year of frustration. He had amazing empathy and apologized for not hearing the sound originally. I would highly recommend Zane.

We are still frustrated that it took a negative review in order for us to be heard and taken seriously. Hopefully in the future the Hirning service department will show more care towards their customers when the original issue is brought to their attention and make their customers feel valued.

Are you looking for a dealer who sells you a brand new vehicle you ordered in and after 4 months of having it and only 1k miles you started having problems and they either said it was not there or gaslight you by say "we can pull any truck off the lot and duplicate the sound" and then after taking it in multiple times you threaten with a lawsuit they are able to fix the issue that they claimed wasn't there, then this is the dealer for you!
If you are looking for a dealer that you have to take your only 3 year old and only 24k mile truck in over 10 times and they seem to "fix" the problem but once you drive it off the lot it is still happening, this is the dealer for you!
If you are looking for a dealer that acts like you don't matter and doesn't have any empathy or understanding for the frustration you have dealt with, then this is the dealer for you!
If you are looking for a dealer who values you as a customer and does whatever they can to make sure the brand new vehicle you bought is in great working order and you get to actually use the vehicle, then steer clear of this dealer.

I typically don't like dealerships for their sneaky tactics and high pressure. I messaged this dealership about a truck I saw online. Kenneth A responded and was very helpful and respectful through my myriad of questions. The whole experience left me feeling like there are still good honest salespeople and dealerships out there.

Follow up: When I went to register my new-to-me truck I was worried about the dealership having assessed the proper taxes for a Utah title/registration due to other comments I read. Well, They were spot on! Even the woman at the UT DMV was surprised because that apparently rarely happens. Kudos to the Hirning finance department!

It all started with a referral from our service tech, Brent Taft, at Hirning GMC to the Salesman, Jason Murray. Jason was the best! No pressure, answered all our questions, and pointed out all the features in our new vehicle. He spent quality time with us and never rushed thru anything. Trading in our old vehicle took time, but the trade appraiser did a thorough job and we were satisfied with his fair value. (I don't recall his name) Jared the Finance officer also was patient with us and explained everything in detail including the different coverage warranty options and help us find the ones that fit our budget. Hirning GMC is a great Dealership all around and we plan on continuing our patronage.

On February 3, 2023, my 2023 Canyon suddenly shuddered, and a series of dashboard warnings appeared - front collision inactive, traction control inactive, passenger restraint system needs service, and more. The brakes pulsated and the transmission did not shift properly.

I returned home and called the Service Department and described what had happened. I was told that the next available service date was the 15th of February. I said that kind of delay was unacceptable because the car was unsafe to drive. The person I spoke with offered to have the Service Manager Call me Monday morning.

Monday morning I received the promised call and was told to bring my car in and they would give me a loaner car while my car was being serviced. On Friday I received a call that the car had been fixed and a 'module' had to be replaced, as the problem I experienced had been a recurring issue with other 2023 Canyons.

So far the car is operating properly. However I had the same issue occur during the summer of 2023. I was asked to bring my car in immediately and later the same day it was returned to me.

I am worried that the same problem will reoccur in the future.

The reason I did not give a 5 star rating was because the initial contact person at the service department did not recognize the seriousness of the issue and suggested I wait nearly 2 weeks to have my car looked at.

Bought my truck here from Jeremy, and I always have it serviced here.I brought my truck in with a few concerns about a check engine light and a possible thermostat issue. My appt was on a Friday and they had to keep it over the weekend. I live 45 miles away from this dealership and they had a loaner ready for me and thoroughly communicated with me all day and again the following Monday, when they finished up, as promised. Your service department is top notch to match my salesman, Jeremy.

If you have to wait during the service period the waiting area is stocked with coffee and bottled water. Comfortable seating, wifi connection, and television are provided. What impressed me most was the cleanliness of the entire showroom and the cleanest public restrooms that I have ever seen anywhere.
