30+ year customer of Hammond Lumber, this company has always done what’s right every time. Vested employees that care and actually know what they’re talking about matched to great products with same day delivery. Unconditionally and with reservation I’d highly recommend this family owned Maine based company to anyone. Or go to your box retailer and battle your way though unknowable employees, load your own cart, struggle to load what you bought in a truck all in the name of perceiving you saved a buck. Hammond comes though before and after the sale every time!

Nick the manger there's customer service was top notch had an issue with there 3rd party vendor wrong meteral but they stepped up and took care of the issue on there own $$$ and time very impressed...

I am very displeased with the quoting process. In August of 2022, I started the quoting process for a duplex with Hammond. I gave them $500 as a deposit. Fast forward to July 2023 and I still do not have a completed quote. When I initiated this process and gave them $500, I was told it would take 4-8 weeks for a complete quote and floorplans. Clearly that did not happen, as it's almost a year later and I don't have a completed quote that I can give to my bank for the loan process. I have continued to follow up and go months without a reply. I guess they will keep my $500 and I will have to take my business elsewhere. It's also very disappointing because when I started this process, interest rates were 5.5%, and now they are 8% or so. That is an extra $400+/month on a mortgage! Meaning, over the life of a 30 year loan, Hammond Lumber has cost me $144,000. That is a high cost of attempting to do business with one company.

Colin has been nothing short of a Rockstar through this entire process. 5 Stars is an understatement. If you have a project and you are a DIYer, Colin is the man to see!!!

Overnight parking available. Easy docks. The store opens at 7 am. Unloading starts at 8 am and took less than 45 minutes.

Terrible customer service. I tried to order replacement window parts through Hammond to support a local business. Over two months later I've heard nothing. I had to drive to the store four to get answers after five attempts by phone and I could not BUY a return call on the status or ETA. Told each time there are delays due to shipping or covid concerns. No one cared about trying to get it resolved. I finally gave up and asked for my money back. I then went direct to the manufacturer's website (Anderson Windows) and I received the parts in less than ten days. I don't write reviews like this, but I cannot believe how indifferent this outfit was to trying to get me what I'd already paid them for. Once the sale was made, the important work of actually providing the parts I'd ordered simply didn't seem to matter.
