I was an electrical contractor for this company. I spent my time going around to try and fix the installs of the less expensive, unlicensed contactors that they hired in order to increase profits. Many systems did not work at all. A few solar systems even burned down houses. And the home owner would be so mad when I would arrive because Green Home Systems will not respond unless you file against their electrical license in that state. The state then puts a hold on all of the solar projects and it essentially stops forward movement. Then they will pay attention to you. The systems are the worst installs I have even seen and I have installed over 500 systems. The response to issues is pathetic. Now they owe me thousands of dollars for work I did and the last check bounced. Mismanaged funds mixed with hot head owners will put this company under. My pending lawsuit is not going to help profits either. And it is not just me. They have a history of treating their contractors like this. All permits and public knowledge. You will notice about every year or so, in every state, their contractor number changes. This is because their contractor gets tired of not being paid on time and eventually leaves. The contractors contact information is also public knowledge and can be found online. Call one of contractors before you make the purchase. Ask them how they are treated. Ask them what they think about the longevity of the company. And shop around, the prices they get people to sign on are some of the highest in the industry.
The Green Solar system worked well for 5 years but then needed a new Inverter. An inverter was received at my residence and I worked with the Santa Fe, NM. office to have a local electrician complete the installation. The Calif. home office could not find anyone to place the new inverter in commission. I was without solar electrical support for 18 months and they would not reimburse the local electrician for the installation. I have found a solar company 20 miles from me who commissioned the inverter and got me back online in a couple hours. The 25 year warranty from Green Solar Tech. is a rude joke. Stay local Solis Solar, in New Mexico.
