We had a very complex request with steep metal roof pitch during the middle of winter, along with a significant power line upgrade, power line pole replacement, and car charger installation, which of course took some time to coordinate and complete, but the end result is fantastic, work was top-notch, and everyone was wonderful to work with!

You can't ask for a better company to install solar for your home. Positive Energy Solar is a very professional company that went out their way to explain each step of the installation process and even move us up in their schedule. After inspections by City of Santa Fe and PNM our system is up, running and working flawlessly. They provide ongoing support. Of the companies we considered Positive Energy Solar had the best warranty and recommendations from our neighbors using their solar system.

I had an excellent experience with Positive Energy. They did everything they said they would do, on time, cleaned up after themselves, sub-contractors were scheduled and taken care of, all paperwork and permits submitted. Genevieve Clayton was my point person.

The whole process went smoothly from start to finish.
The estimate with Genevieve and then permitting and installation all proceeded without any problem. The app for the system has all the info I need, and I will use Positive Energy Solar to install my EV charger when I am ready for that. PES also made it easy to get my loan with Nusenda and has provided the documents for filing with the IRS. And they are local.

Genevieve at PES was incredibly helpful in describing all my options for solar at my house in SFe. She helped me figure out what I did and didn't need, was really knowledgeable about the entire process, and was super kind and professional the entire time! Positive Energy Solar was a joy to work with. Fiona Wong was an exceptional. She made sure all our concerns were answered. She also follow-up even way after the panels were installed, such a professional yet so warm and friendly. The technicians were pretty fast as well - took them only a few days to install.

I would like to mention too that Positive Energy Solar’s pricing was competitive. We had gotten a few quotes from other companies, but theirs was the most reasonable one. Now a couple of years after the installation, we are still very much happy with our decision to get our solar installed with them.

We installed 24 solar generation panels on my garage roof about four years ago. Positive Energy solar did a great job for us.
The panel location was carefully considered to avoid any "shadow loss" from trees on our site and the routing of the power supply line to integrate with our existing PNM meter location was done so as to avoid any damage to landscaping.
They also dealt with the annoying permitting and approval process with the city and with PNM.
I can strongly recommend them and plan to use them again to expand our system as we go about converting our home heating system from gas to electric.

Honest and fair! Installation went just fine. Operation was flawless for a while. Then had a complete outage. There were some challenges diagnosing the problem. But ultimately the company figured out the problem and was extraordinarily honest and fair in resolving it. No problems since.

This was one of the best decisions we have made as a family. We knew we wanted Solar and started researching companies. After talking with Taylor and hearing how much we could save and their incredible warranty, we went with them. It’s been 6 or 7 years since we got it and it has run flawlessly. And the amount that we thought we were going to pay on energy has been less. Basically, we only pay the tax. Not one dime towards energy cost the entire time, and that is with us being very liberal with the AC. Great company doing good for the environment and saving money.

I have been consistently impressed by the staff at PES, from our first meeting to discuss the design of the system and its location, to its installation, and to their responsiveness whenever I've had follow-up questions. Recently, I asked Genevieve Clayton and her Support colleagues about adding a way to monitor our electricity consumption. When that proved unachievable owing to the unusual size of our amp service, Genevieve took upon herself to find another solution. She taught me how to interpret my PNM bill data, so as extrapolate our effective consumption month by month, and this gives me what I need. Positive Energy Solar has done two installations for us. The first was about five years ago on a weekend house in the Jemez mountains. The price was right and the work was top quality. Those panels continue to crank out the KW-hrs without a hitch and we are accumulating a huge credit with the Jemez EC.

The second job was last year when we doubled the output of the installation at our ABQ home. The original panels, which continue to work very well, were installed over ten years ago by a company no longer in ABQ. The technology has gotten better in ten years and the new ones PE recommended generate 100W/panel more than the older ones. Apparently it was a tricky problem to integrate the Enphase microinverter on-line reports from the two separate systems so that we got a single, combined output, but they figured it out and that's what we have now.

Our son and daughter-in-law have Positive Energy installations on their homes and they are working flawlessly.

The Positive Energy folks are technically excellent, they are good at the racking and mounting aspect of installing, their prices are fair, and they have excellent customer service. They handled all the paperwork involved in getting approvals from PNM, the JEC, and the State, including all the applications for State and Federal tax credits. I like that they are a Positive Benefit Corporation.

I recommend them highly.

I wanted to install solar with battery backup. We opted for net metering and have banked a substantial storage with PNM. I interviewed 6 different companies and felt most comfortable with Positive Solar. They worked with me and came up with the best solution for my needs. Everyone was knowledgeable and easy to work with. The system became operational in October and has met or exceed all my expectations. Since October, our bills from PNM have totaled under $3.50. We have had two power outages (one for 2 hours and one for 3 hours). We didn't even know there was any outages until I talked to my neighbors.

Positive Energy (PE) is the best solar installer in Santa Fe. Although they didn’t know it at the time, I shared their proposal and one other with a friend enrolled in the Sustainable Technologies program at Santa Fe Community College (SFCC). Both proposals were thoroughly evaluated by students in his class, and Positive Energy's stood out as the most comprehensive, accurate, and detailed, with the highest quality components. On that basis, I hired PE and I'm happy to report they did outstanding work from start to finish.

Over many weeks, Genevieve Clayton patiently explained all of the steps of the process and my options. Once the permits and approvals were obtained, the PE team installed the panels on my second story roof in two days. All of the PE staff were willing to share their knowledge and expertise and patiently fielded my many questions.

Well, I thought this company was going to stand behind their product. Apparently I was wrong. The inverters installed have failed.The inverter maker can or will not honor their warranty.
Positive Energy wants me to pay $12000 to buy replacement inverters., They point to a clause in our contract that says that
they are not responsible for defects from products that go into the systems that they install. I do not even know who this inverter maker is. So how do they expect me to get satisfaction.
and it appears that this inverter maker may be bankrupt. So basically I have no avenue to correct this problem except to pay
Positive Energy another $12000. This is outrageous. Car
companies have recalls when their are product defects, but
not Positive Energy. They are hiding behind a deceptive contract
that protects their interest, but not yours.

I live in a condo unit in a 1950s neighborhood in Santa Fe, NM. The electrical service in the neighborhood and the condo is not to the newest standard, plus there was only limited exterior wall space for installing the various electrical components needed. In summary, designing and installing the system was a challenge. Prior to Positive Energy Solar, I had contacted two other local solar installation firms, who were interested in the project, but ultimately lacked the knowledge, resources, and/or dedication to come up with a design. I had given up hope that it could be done, until someone shared their positive experience with Maria Hondros, a Sales Advisor at Positive Energy Solar, who exceeded all my expectations. She was extremely knowledgeable, dedicated and well connected to come up with a design that took all the constraints into consideration. At one point the design was about to be determined as not feasible due to some technical calculations. She took it upon herself to review the calculations and detected an error in the spreadsheet that was used by others in the calculation. The project manager and installation crew were also a joy to work with. In summary, I can highly recommend the entire team at Positive Energy Solar, and in particular the Sales Advisor Maria Hondros. Without her knowledge and dedication, I don’t believe I would have been able to get solar panels installed.

We have had two solar installations from Positive Energy, one in 2012 (a solar tracker), and additional solar panels on our roof this year. In each case, the attention to detail, communication throughout, and quality of the products were stellar. This was the single most impressive customer service experience we have encountered since moving to Santa Fe three years ago. From Kopavi Ruben's first home visit (which I would characterize as high-end consulting rather than sales) to Sarah Dallas's exemplary communications throughout the various permits (historical and city), installation and PNM integration, it was seamless! I felt like we had an admin fairy who removed every hurdle large and small, followed up like a crazed badger on the details, and wrote charming emails filled with personality and useful facts. And let us not forget the design and installation crew who were uniformly a cut above. We now have ample solar power for all our home needs and the new Tesla and in the time period advertised. We have been extremely happy with Positive Energy Solar and its work over the entire duration of the project.  From our first exploratory meetings through PNM’s final meter set and inspection, the entire PES team was technically sound, focussed and efficient, and always willing to interact with us about any question. And all that within the constraints imposed by Covid-19.  Working with PES has been a uniformly excellent experience.

It is very exciting to have 18 solar panels up on the roof. The whole crew was extremely well trained and kind to us in helping us to understand what was happening! We installed our 4.578kW ground mounted system in late summer 2012. The system uses Sunpower panels and is connected to the grid. Taylor Selby and the Positive Energy crew were a delight to work with. They were very professional and carefully explained everything; sizing, energy credits, utility rebates, etc. We couldn't be happier with the system, no monthly bills at all and most months a $25 rebate. There was one problem with our inverter, and Positive Energy addressed it immediately. I hightly recommend them.

Not only because their product and customer service is superior, but also because they are employee owned and leaders in the solar movement in our state. They are always fighting for solar in our legislature and are a watchdog for our PRC. Plus, by referring someone you know to Positive, they will donate to New Energy Economy. I had my house done by Positive and every day I'm thankful and inspired by being associated with this awesome company.

We've had nothing but good experiences dealing with the folks at Positive Energy. We have a 7.848 kW, 23037 kW-h per year 2-pole tracker system that is cranking out more energy than we use (meaning we have room for an electric car and a hot tub!). For example, the care they took bringing power up to our home which involved going through a landscaped garden was unbelievable. We didn't even lose a plant and couldn't tell a ditch had ever been dug. Recently, just over two years since the system went active and warranties expired, some of the tracker system components have failed. Positive Energy has proved that they stand behind their products and customers by working with the manufacturers of the tracking system and me to make it possible to get replacements under warranty. I really appreciate the focus on customer satisfaction!
