The purchase process at this dealership is low-key with no pressure, which is nice. However, I'm removing two stars -- one for our salesman Trent who didn't return my calls regarding licensing issues after the sale. The second and most significant problem was the third-party service they use for submitting the paperwork for title and registration for out-of-state customers. It is cumbersome and slow. It took over two months to finally receive our plates, requiring purchase of two additional temporary trip permits. Contrasting all this was Juleen in the corporate office. She gets 5+ stars for her conscientious, efficient and responsive help and follow-up in finally getting the plates. JULEEN IS THE BEST!

I sold Toyotas years ago and have owned them for over 30 years.I called on Tuesday and asked if they could work me in a morning appointment , a very kind lady said give me a minute and was able to squeeze me in later in the week.I was greeted by the service writer with a smile we were in and out. The staff very friendly and quick to answer any questions.its nice when the staff says hello when just passing by and checking in saying Hi. Thanks for the great service these last few years.

I am posting this for my wife. She just purchased a new 4Runner for herself at Five Star Toyota in Aberdeen, WA. She was the buyer and the lead.

We had an amazing buying experience working with Justin Reed. He did a wonderful job helping me consider vehicles and various options. It was so refreshing to have a great customer service experience at this dealership. We both felt Justin listened to my wants and needs, answered all of our questions, and went above and beyond to get me exactly what I wanted. We never felt pressured or rushed in any way; the entire staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. That happens less frequently in today’s world. If you need to buy a car, I highly recommend heading to Aberdeen and working with Justin Reed. I give him very high marks! I love my new 4Runner Off Road.

All employees and very kind, friendly, and helpful. Phil and Carl were particularly helpful on my last visit. Carl was very knowledgeable and kind, and Phil was friendly and accommodating.
The waiting area is pretty nice, too. There's a gas fireplace and plenty of comfortable seating.

I took my Sienna van here because the driver's side heat went out. At the same time, the HVAC display was also not remembering any of the settings once I turned the car off and it was also hesitating about 60 seconds before the display would come on. I tell them I think these two things must be related because they happened at exactly the same time.

So I go in with these two issues and I was charged a hefty fee so that they could hook it up to their code reader and tell me that the heat issue was the blend door actuator that needed to be replaced. They told me that the HVAC display issue was nothing abnormal (are you kidding me???) and that it is normal for the van to not remember previous settings and to have a 60 second delay coming on. Like I don't know my own van.

They said the blend door actuator replacement would cost $3,000 because it was 30 hours of labor to tear down the whole dash to get to it. The part was listed at about $250. I asked if the mechanic could point out to me where the actuator is, because by then I'd looked online and in forums about about how you can manually change the hot or cold position, if you don't replace it. The guy told me that they couldn't show me the location because "it's buried deep in the dash." I pay the high fee and walk out. Then I find a Youtube video of a guy replacing this part on his exact same year and model of Sienna. It took him 15 minutes. The part cost $50 from Napa. I get the part from Napa and I crawl down by the gas pedal and look up and, lo and behold, there's the part, held in by two screws. It took me maybe 20 minutes to replace it. THIS DEALERSHIP IS UNETHICAL AND LIES. And they don't know what they're talking about and will just tell you anything (i.e. it's normal for the HVAC to not remember the last setting and to have a minute delay in coming on). I would NEVER recommend them for anything. I think that they told me the whole crock of it being buried deep in the dash and it taking 30 hours and $3k because I'm a woman and they figured I'd just pay for it without doing any research. I think they told me that the HVAC delay (which was instantly fixed as soon as I replaced the actuator and the van recalibrated) because they don't care and wanted to just get my money and get me out of there. STAY AWAY!!! I'm filing a complaint with the BBB.

Update 12/11/2024: No one has contacted me per their response.

This review is following a recent transmission replacement at 5-Star Toyota in my Lexus GX460. This service department will do anything they can to rip you off!!!

My story is as follows:
9/2024 - Called and requested a price for a transmission removal and replacement using dealer supplied parts.

9/25/2024 - A quote was supplied for $8,039.43 including parts labor and taxes. I was told that this price included a $1000 core charge making the total $1000 less and requiring adjustment for taxes.

10/1/2024 - I agreed to the work, assuming that the dealer is marking up the parts department cost by $1000 (not including the refundable $1000 core) over their actual cost. See attached images showing the shipped cost directly from Lexus in Portland and Lexus in Scottsdale for comparison.

10/24/2024 - Work began on the transmission.

10/25/2024 - Service called me, "Our tech recommends you replace the exhaust gaskets and air injection pump gaskets." I reply "how much?" they tell me that it would be an additional $900 to replace the gaskets ($65 dollars in parts) where they simply needed to put new ones in place of the old ones on parts that were removed as a part of the trans removal. This would require zero additional labor. I declined the $840 rip off.

10/29/2024 - Dealer called and said "its all done, the grand total is $8,927.31" I asked "why is it $900 over the original quote?" They replied "Your exhaust manifold is missing fasteners and studs, Right exhaust manifold shield has rounded and stripped bolts. Transmission Speed sensor connectors are damaged at the connector. Starter motor connector is damaged at the connector lock/detent" I replied, these weren't damaged before I dropped it off, why am I responsible for you breaking/stripping things?" They said "whoever installed the lift must have damage these items." I replied "I installed the lift, and it doesn't require touching anything close to the exhaust." The parts cost to replace these items are negligible to the overall cost again why are you charging me for $850+ for labor to fix stuff you broke?" They declined any and all explanation, as they couldn't justify the charges.

10/29/204 - I called to speak with the service manager, was told a litany of excuses of why they were not providing me the transmission cost supplied from the dealer, including that they needed to make money, that the transmission cost that I was provided already had the core removed from the total (making the transmission $2,000 more than the dealer cost I can get from the parts counter.)

I was never provided a proper written estimate from the get go, which should have included the transmission cost, what type of transmission (New, used, rebuilt, warranty info, etc.) See the attached image of my original quote from 9/25/24.

Following the back and forth with the service department, I called and left a message for the General Manager for 5-Star Toyota and never heard back. Following this lack of response I assembled the following email, which was never responded to:

11/1/2024 - I picked up the vehicle after agreeing to pay the original amount of the estimate. I was sick of having my car held hostage and the lack of cooperation on the part of the service department and management's lack of response. Evidently, they put my truck back to the state at which I declined service because my heat shield is damaged and is reinstalled with a damaged fastener, I assume that either they didn't do the work the said because they would have had to remove my exhaust manifold again to undo what they said they did to the starter..

***Its a bit telling that state law requires you as a consumer to approve any additional work exceeding 10% of the cost of the original written estimate. These two attempts to increase the total were both almost exactly 10% of the original estimate...which means they legally don't need customer authorization. Its sneaky and unethical.

Maintenance appointment was set up online. They send several reminders prior to appointment. The actual appointment was fairly quick and convenient. They have a waiting room with seats, a tv, and an espresso machine.

They didn't rotate my tires because the front tires were worn too much they said. The problem is I bought new tires three months ago when they said the tires were worn. They noted that they filled the tires with air. Tpms thought otherwise and upon checking, they had not. They do not actually do the work they claim and take over an hour to maybe? change your oil? My second time there my car was full of stuff because I was moving and I imagine it looked like I lived in my car so the woman crossing her arms and asking how I planned to pay for the service I had already paid $300 to get five of was off putting but I tried to understand. There are a large number of poor people here. Still..

This was my first service checkup on my new leased vehicle. The service department is full of capable, talented technicians that are down to earth and good at what they do. I dropped off my car, they took me to work and when had been serviced they came on got me. To top it off they gave me a car wash coupon too! Excellent service! Highly reccomended!

I took my car in for a major repair. At the time every other mechanic in the area seemed to either too busy or out of town. The staff was friendly. However it took them over a month to finally get to my car and this was only after repeatedly calling them for a status on my vehicle.

Over $2000 worth of repairs later they then tell me that I need a new engine. This remains to be seen as I managed to drive it home without incident. I will never take my car here again and would literally take my car anywhere else.

I'm auto illiterate and anything beyond basic car maintenance gives me hives :)

This is the second time I've had to take my car into this service department and I very much appreciate the way their techs have met me at my level both times and helped to alleviate my anxiety.
I don't want to wish continual repairs on myself, but my dealership is a couple hours away and it really helps to know if something comes up that there is a great option that is so close to home.

When we were looking to buy a new 2024 Corolla Cross Hybrid, we never imagined that we would end up finding it in Aberdeen--about a hundred miles from our home in Seattle. And when we DID find the car we wanted online at the Five Star Toyota dealership, we were a little nervous: can we trust these guys enough to buy a car from them without ever having met them or seen the car in person? Are we going to get blindsided with hidden fees or pressured into extra costs when we make the trek all the way out there to buy the car? Turns out we had nothing to worry about--just like other reviewers have said, Matt Johnson's honesty and helpfulness made it a great buying experience. He sent us photos of the car, promptly answered all our questions, and gave us an excellent price that was even better than we expected. When I got out to Aberdeen courtesy of their free shuttle (thanks and best wishes Bob--it was great talking with you on the ride out!) all the team members (including Brian in finance) were friendly and professional and there was no pressure or unpleasant last minute surprises. They mentioned that they have people coming from as far away as Oregon to buy their cars there, and now I know why. Highly recommended!

He seemed to be in a rush and asked for my phone # and he would call me back with the answeres to my questions. He never called me back. How are you supposed to sell a car if you don't follow up with a customer like you said you would? Not happy.

The team at Five Star is the best in the business!

I am in sales and customer service myself so please read on to understand why I feel this way.

I had been shopping for a truck for a couple weeks outside of Grays Harbor, thinking bigger city, more inventory, better deal. I couldn’t have been more wrong. After being disappointed and frustrated with other dealers just trying to sell me what they thought I wanted, I reached out to a close friend who reminded me that doing business close to home with great people is the way to go.

That’s when I was connected with Allen and his team at Five Star. They listened to me, paid attention to my expectations, went above and beyond and went out and found me my perfect truck! In less than 24 hours, Allen and team had the truck I was looking for onsite at their dealership.

Even then, their main focus was still ensuring my expectations were met. Allen even offered to send a member of his team to pick me up to help make things easy.

When I arrived at Five Star I was greeted by a friendly staff. I was quickly introduced to my dream truck. Allen had delivered on his promise. After an informative introduction to the truck and a test drive, we started the paperwork and the other formalities of the purchasing process. This is usually the most painful part of buying a new vehicle but Five Star did everything to make it easy.

Matt fed me coffee and kept me laughing during my short wait. He was also an expert on the vehicle and helped with all things related to the setup and any other questions related to the vehicle.

Dave was a true professional when it came to the paperwork and answering any questions I had about financing and warranty. I really felt comfortable with his approach and the way he communicated with me.

I hope anyone reading this finds this review useful when determining who to trust when purchasing a new vehicle. I can tell you with all certainty, I will only trust Allen and his team at Five Star moving forward for all of my vehicle purchases.

I have made several purchases at 5 star dealerships. Hands down best buying experience is with Alan Erickson the gm of 5 star Toyota/ Chevrolet. He has always treated me with respect and i enjoy making car deals with him 5 star Ford could learn alot from Alan . LIKE CUSTOMER SERVICE and RESPECT. I will probably not ever make another deal with the Ford side. But strongly recommend if your looking for a new or used vehicle to go see Alan . I will definitely be back to the Chevrolet side

Was having a HEADACHE navigating the Seattle Toyota dealerships, with one asking for a ridiculous add-on package that was mandatory. Five Star Toyota, however, was so much better with no hidden packages.

I don't write many online reviews but since I received great service plus the Service Team went the extra mile, I wanted to share my experience.
Recently I took my 2011 Venza to Five Star Toyota for an oil change. The oil change and service were done well and in a reasonable amount of time but the main reason for my high rating is the following:
When Steve in the Service Department called to say my car was ready, I mentioned there was a noise in heating/cooling vents when I turned on the fan after my prior oil change in April. I looked under the hood but could not find anything obvious. However I'd found stuff lodged in my in-cabin air filter, so I though more might be in the fan system as well. Five months later, the noise was still driving me crazy.
Even though the oil change work was already done, I asked if Steve if they could take a quick look for that. When I arrived 10 minutes later, they'd checked the fan, found a bunch of leaves & needles, cleaned it out, and still had my car ready for pickup.
My thanks to Steve and the service team for taking the time and the extra effort to sort that out.
My husband appreciates the help as well since I no longer complain about the pesky noise. :-)

I am no expert on cars, but I do know a thing or two about America. While I had the pleasure of strolling through the lot with a dapper young man, (Marshall if I recall correctly) we reminisced of brighter days when the automobile was the epitome of the American dream. Just beside the white picket fence, atop the driveway was our ticket to see the world. But it seems evident now that the grass was, as it always seems to be, quite a bit greener on the other side. Little did we know, what once was a symbol of freedom was simply a facade. Everyday it becomes more clear to see that human progress has become stifled by the choke-hold of oil/gas conglomerates, and we sit about and ponder our individual influence on our environment.. How could we have let it get this far?

I left that day with a used 1 ton crew cab diesel! Needless to say, Marshall was a pleasure to work with, as well as everyone alse i encountered, and all is well with my wonderful truck!
