So I had my very first dealership experience at this location. It was definitely an adventure to say the least lol . I had 2 salesman, Anthony, and Chase. I gotta say they were hands down the best people to work with. I got my old truck traded and got into a 23 durango. Even though my financial situation was causing some issues these guys were super patient and very helpful each step of the way. The next vehicle I purchase I'm coming here. Thank you for the experience and the opportunity to invest in myself.

Was given an invoice for the wrong vehicle, had to demand that my perfect battery would not be changed. Then had to demand the charge for new wipers be taken off my invoice and my wipers , that had a warranty from Advance Auto, be put back on. Trust issues, telling ya. The cost went from $1200 down to $800, because I was an advocate. Huge eye roll right here!!!!

I was just passing through the Mason City area when my '03 Thunderbird needed some mechanical repairs.

The Mason City Ford people were extremely helpful in getting the car repaired and me on my way again.

I was impressed that they were so helpful to me as I was just passing through the area. It made me think they must treat their regular customers exceptionally well.

My salesman was amazing. I bought a used vehicle and I got less than 10 miles down the road. We broke down in middle of nowhere. Caliper on RF tire was seized solid and tire was too hot to touch. I was told that I could have it towed back and they would fix it. I had over a 4 hour drive back and am also a mechanic. Luckily I had tools
With to remove the tire, stuck caliper and pads that had no lining left. I tied the caliper to the frame and limped it all the way home over 4 hours. I reached out for help the following day and was denied. Very disappointed. Also wasn’t even offered a tank of gas when buying the car. My salesman offered to send me money the following day from his own pocket, that’s how nice he was. I told him to keep it. It’s not his problem. His manager could have done something for me I feel. I saved them the tow back, the hour plus shop labor, cost of rotor, pads, and siezed caliper. Very upsetting towards the dealership!

It took them a full month to fix my 2014 F-150 Platinum of a oil smell. So they replaced my turbo and the smell remains which actually turns out it was a small oil leak to the turbo nad the air connection was NOT SEATED CORRECTLY.
NOTHING BUT MISCOMMUNITIONS BETWEEN MY EXTENDED WARRENTY COMPANY AND MYSELF.
TODAY I HAVE TO GO BACK TO HAVE THEM FIX THE JOB THEY SHOULD HAVE - COULD HAVE DONE RIGHT A MONTH AGO! BUYER BEWARE THERE HAS BEEN MANY CHANGES AT THIS DEALERSHIP THAT DON'T APPEAR TO BE GOOD FOR US THE CONSUMER.

A recall was issued for a transmission control module on my 2014 Ford Focus. Since I was having issues with the transmission, I made an appointment for it at MC Ford. The guy in the service department was asking me questions about the issues I was having. I told him it wasn't shifting right, it shuddered when going from stop to go, it hesitated between gears. He asked if the check engine light was on and I said no. He said they'd have to run a diagnostic on it and it would cost me $130 if it ended up being something other than the transmission control module. I knew there was something wrong so I agreed to the charge if it wasn't the TCM. I took my car in and waited for it. About 20 minutes later I get my car back and they said there was nothing wrong with it as there were no codes when they checked it. He led me to the cashier window and gave a paper and my keys to the gal at the window then walked away. Then the gal told me my bill was $150! I said there's nothing wrong with my car and the service guy said there be a charge if something ELSE was wrong other than the TCM. I didn't have time to argue so I paid the bill. Upon further inspection of the bill I noticed that they only drive my car ONE mile to check for the issues I mentioned to them. I called them later to complain that the car was still hesitating when shifting gears and shuddering when starting out from a dead stop. He said I could bring it back but since there were no codes and it didn't do it when they drove it, it was highly unlikely there was anything wrong. I may be a female but I KNOW when something is wrong with one of my cars! So I called Harrison Ford in Clear Lake, they got me right in, changed out the TCM and my car runs great now. I wouldn't recommend Mason City Ford to my worst enemy but I HIGHLY recommend Scott Pingel and the service department at Harrison Ford in Clear Lake!!

This review is strictly based on the Service center, as I have no experience on the sales side of things.

I would love to make this my main dealer/service center as I own a Ford and I live in Mason City, but over the last 6 years of owning Ford vehicles, I have tried to use this dealership with no luck in terms of Customer Service. Over the years, the same lack of care and customer service. Every time I have called and got transfered to the service counter, no one has answered. I've even called 3-4 times in a row with no one answering or calling back. They just don't care to have someone dedicated to answering the phones. After so many years of consistent lack of attentiveness and neglected from the service employees, I'm giving up. I've tried, and gave them chance after chance over the years with no improvement and the same lack of care. They need a serious overhaul on the Service side for what Customer Service means, and how to execute it excellently.

I also had an appointment to have my vehicle picked up and returned to my work for a recall, with no one showing up and no communication. They just can't be bothered to be there for it's customers. If you're wanting a service center to work with you AND for you, Mason City just isn't it. Ill try my luck with Harrison Ford in Clear Lake.

First of all the made the buying experience painless. One day after purchasing my van the driver side sliding door stopped working. Jay was very helpful in getting back to me with different ideas to try. After all those failed he told me to bring it in. Turns out the door handle needed to be replaced which they did at no charge to me. I'm very thankful for all the help they gave me and will definitely be a return customer.

What a great experience for me! After totaling my car hitting a deer and at the poorest timing after a recent move, along with a pretty unique credit scenario thanks to the pandemic a few years ago, Scott and Tyler took a horrible situation and turned it into an extremely positive experience. They worked hard to find a vehicle and financing that would work well for me. They put my needs at the forefront and really made me feel like they had my best interests at heart. Everyone was very friendly and helpful! I'm a return customer for sure!!

Absolutely terrible experience. 1 star is too much. My car was in the shop for 3 months because they broke it more than it already was. It went in for a head gasket to get fixed. My warranty covered the head gasket and they still ended up doing over $1000 more of work on it that they broke and I had to pay for. They stripped bolts and made me pay for them and then something else magically broke on it. Worst experience EVER! DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!!! Money hungry is an understatement!!

Newer to town and thought I’d take my late model warrantied Explorer in for The Works oil change, tire rotation, and inspection. So far I’ve been rather frustrated after this event. No one asked for my wheel lock ,yes they likely have a master set, but then I visually inspected and they did not rotate tires. I know this because two wheels have curb damage and they’re not moved from corner to corner. Now, three months later my oil change reminder just went off, 2k miles after my oil change. So they didn’t reset it. Starting to wonder if they know what they’re doing there and if they even changed the oil. The final straw is an electrical issue they claimed was a bad part. Nope just a damaged wire due to another dealer who was in there fixing a TSB for a radiator fan relay. I know this because another shop fixed it. For free while dealing with a separate issue.

Bought a truck from Mason City Ford.Three weeks after purchase I get a phone call saying some registration fees were wrong and I still owed more money even though purchase agreement was discussed and signed. Come to find out the wrong vin number was entered. Luke and Krystal did nothing to help solve the situation and or care about mistakes being made in legal bidding contracts. Most dealerships would acknowledge there mistake and take care of it on there own especially after spending over $40,000. This is not a ethical business. DO NOT SHOP HERE

Service department let me down as well as the sales staff who sold me an “extended warranty”. Warranty only covered half of the costs for timing chain failure, took over 2 months to fix. I got the truck back and have a brake fluid leak and a broken coil on the driver side strut that they failed to notice or notify me about. Extremely disappointed and I learned my lesson the hard way. Oh and it’s 300$/hr. Which raised my original quote by over 1000$ because “warranty didn’t cover 3 hours of labor”. I’m a machinist, and mechanic, those guys get paid maybe 10% of what they charge per hour.

Worst place i have ever purchased a vehicle. I purchased a used vehicle that I was told, was completely gone through and everything was in working order. First night found a gas leak, trim panels on the outside falling off as I am driving down the road. 30000dollar vehicle in the shop with expensive repairs in the first week. Will never do business here again. Today is November 25th they have had my vehicle for 3 weeks friday. Have no idea what is wrong. When I call for updates, I get a rude receptionist that transfers me to the service department. It rings 10 to 15 times. No one answers and it goes back to the rude receptionist. She tells me they are not at the phones right now can I take a message. I don't have the luxury of being able to have my phone on me at work. So I tell her that, and I will call back at break. I work from 430 am to 430pm. I have been calling for two weeks to see what is going on? No answers. So I called today while I was in the shop area. I talked to the rude receptionist again and was transferred to the service area. I heard the phone ringing while 3 gentleman behind the counters stood there. Heard one say let the machine get it. I did this three times and it was the same thing every time. I call after work and finally get ahold of someone at 415 after 20 rings at least. He told me they have problems with there phones. They have for awhile mow and are trying to get it fixed. I told this to Harrison Ford, Hosmer, ans others and they all laughed and told me there us alot of people complaining about mason city ford. I will never buy a car from them again, sorry for who does. Make sure you get the extended warranty you will need it.
